For this reason, B's Sweets always…read morehas a line at the Hood River Farmers Market where you will find them every Saturday from 9-1pm. You can also contact Beverly, the owner, who will do special orders and even provide treats for events like weddings, celebratory parties, special dinners, anything! Over the years I have tried many items and loved them all. There are always unique flavors built into everyday pastries which take B's Sweets to the next level. For example, the maple scones have figs incorporated giving them both texture and contrast. The doughnuts are sometimes flavored with lavender, sometimes hibiscus, sometimes both, giving them a scent and flavor that elevates the ordinary doughnut to something truly special. Even though I am not gluten free, I often buy the GF shortbread cookies beautify decorated with an edible pansy flower. Trust me, you need to buy this for your next brunch or gathering. Not only do they add an artistic flair to your table, they are scrumptious! And all of your friends can enjoy them. The mini tarts - in various flavors depending on what's in season - are also decorated with pansy's and dried fruit. Just gorgeous ! The lemon tart is my favorite but recently bought the blood orange and everyone loved it. Sometimes there are purple tarts - lavendar - and while the color may throw you off, go for it! So good. There are various types of stuffed croissants, brownies, artisan chocolate bon bins and caramels, cookies, focaccia, hand pies, cinnamon rolls, lavender tea cookies and more! Really hard to make decisions. Luckily I'm there weekly so I get to try most everything. The lavender shortbread squares with half dipped in dark chocolate, sprinkled with lavender, are my favorite. Only available in the cooler months as chocolate melts in the heat, I always buy a box of 6 for $10. They also make a great little hostess or just because gift for a friend. You can also find these at the gift store at Hood River Lavender farm for a treat any day of the week. The owner and baker, Beverly, is the best! So kind, friendly and enthusiastic about her baked goods and the customers genuine enjoyment. Call her for special orders. She also provides dessert spreads for events. Your guests will love them!! Double Mountain was my final stop on my most recent trip to Oregon. It was recommended to me and I…read morewas not disappointed. They have a nice patio area with a few (4-5) tables that are covered. We got there super early and opted to sit outside since the weather was so nice. The service was fantastic and our waitress was super friendly. We discovered that she has ties to KC so I always love that. I started with an Adeline blackberry sour. It's pretty to look at and so delicious to drink. Sours in Oregon are hands down the best. I wish we had more of it in KC but I highly recommend that you get sours and ciders if you're in the PNW. For lunch I ordered the Club Sandwich: Sweetheart ham, hickory-smoked turkey, Tillamook white cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon; topped with lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo. It normally comes on sourdough but I swapped it out for ciabatta. First off, it's a HUGE club sandwich. Lots of meat that had amazing flavor. Not some sad deli sandwich at all. The ciabatta had great chew and complemented the sandwich perfectly. No complaints here! Did I eat it all? Yes, and that was a great plan because it kept me going for the next 24 hours that ended up being a cluster that resulted in no food being available. Sandwiches come with chips or a garden salad but I opted for a different side with an up charge. Let's talk about the Oregon Blue Salad: spring mix, dried cranberries, honeycrisp apples, Rogue Creamery Oregon Blue crumbles, and maple candied walnuts; tossed in an apple cider vinaigrette. So GOOD! You can get it by itself and it would make a great meal. Everything was so fresh. Again, not a single complaint. If you are ever in the area, please stop in. Everything was amazing and I can't wait until I return. Double Mountain is on my list to come back to! Highly recommend!

I got takeout pizza and it was ok, nothing special. Service was a bit lacking…read more I got the Papa Rex (large $30) which has tomato, mozzarella, sausage, pepperoni, salami, bell pepper, olive, red onion, mushroom. The pizza was pretty doughy and flimsy on the bottom. Toppings were average. I picked this pizza because it was the most normal on the menu. I'm all for interesting, unusual pizzas, but none of the other ones on their menu appealed to me. They are weird, but not my taste. It took awhile to make the pizza; they told me 20 minutes on the phone and it was more like 30. It turns out this was because they had to remake it. According the guy working there, their oven has a weird spot in it and created a hole in part of the pizza. They remade it, and it came out the same way; you can see the hole in the in the bottom right of the photo, under some toppings. They offered to remake it a third time, but I didn't want to wait any longer and I doubted it would turn out differently. They didn't offer me the first version of the pizza or a discount for the hole or the extra wait time.

They even sell dough for taking and making at home! Ambience: cute and small, love the outdoor seating but easy to take to the park. Service: shines here. Everyone I've met behind the counter is so kind and friendly. Easy to chat with, just the best!
