This was probably a 4 for me but after accounting for the relatively cheap price for the chef's tasting, my husband may have convinced me maybe it's closer to 4.5 or 5. I would definitely recommend doing the tasting if it's your first time. It was a nice intro to each category on the menu and the portion sizes were quite reasonable. Everything was pretty good and I appreciated the diversity of the menu. If I'm recalling correctly, the cocktail was quite nice too. Overall, a nice spot to try!

Accidentally booked a resy at the Philly location but the staff were kind enough to get me and a friend seated. Space was beautiful and a perfect location in midtown. Good crowd of after-work / client dinners. While our service was a bit slow (no waiter for 20 min), had to ask for water refills etc, food was great and good vibes! We definitely ordered too much. We really enjoyed everything including: -spicy tuna crispy rice (was able to add 1 more piece to have 4 total) -wagyu soup dumplings -cheesesteak baos -short rib and rib eye robotayaki -toro scallion roll -spicy scallop roll -Chirachi roll (no wasabi) -double knot big eye tuna roll -soft serve ice cream The sushi was super fresh and tasty! Especially loved how spicy the spicy scallop was and the double knot special roll. Wish service was better, but would definitely come back.

They did an amazing job with the interior decoration. Dimly lit with candles, this is a perfect date night spot with amazing happy hour deals. The sushi rolls were so tasty and fresh. I'm such a fan of shrimp tempura but this really has topped all the ones I've ever had. Also please try their soft serve dessert! So delicious.

Really got to try a variety of the expansive menu by ordering many of the smaller shareables. The pork tonkatsu is a yummy filling--be warned if you're trying to portion! My fav item is the duck buns. So crispy and flavorful. It was the first item I ate and all I could think about the full meal. I knew I wanted to try the robatayaki but I would say these feel lackluster in the grand scheme of things. The drinks have a wide variety of exciting mixes and aromas too. I can tell this place is still new though. The workers had to be reminded of our orders, and items came out slow. Seems like they're still trying to nail down a system.

Very disappointing. Double Knot is part of a Philadelphia chain. It is supposed to be a Japanese izakaya, but the quality is mediocre. There is a vibe upstairs but downstairs is dead. The service is good. Ultimately the big fail is the food. This may pass for Japanese food in the City of Brotherly Love, but it will not cut it in NY.

Ordered: The Anchor Hitch (~$8 HH price): rum lychee, Thai basil, lime The Tautline Hitch (~$8 HH price): vodka, apple, lime, ginger Short Rib Robatayaki (~$11 HH price) Chicken Thigh Robatayaki (~$7 HH price) Ribeye Scallion Robatayaki (~$9 HH price) Chirashi (~$12 HH price): sushi rice, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, tamago, scallion Japanese Fried Chicken (~$15 HH price): daikon, miso, scallions Edamame Dumplings (~$12 HH price): truffle, pea shoot, sake broth Tuna Rice Cracker (~$16): soy, chili, nori Wagyu Soup Dumplings (~$15): ginger, soy, chili Cheesesteak Bao (~$17): ribeye and provolone, salsa Aya's take: Double Knot's third location (after Philly & Miami) but my first time trying it! The interior is beautiful and the ambiance is chic making this a great spot for a date, dinner with the girls, or what I came for - Happy Hour! There's plenty of seating and getting a reservation wasn't hard but I imagine that might change as more people hear about it. Majority of the items we got were from the HH menu which is everyday from 4-6pm at the bar! The bar seating area also extends beyond the bar itself. We were actually sitting at a table which was great. Out of everything we ordered, the must tries were all the Robatayakis! And if you don't believe me, start with the Short Rib Robatayaki and I guarantee you'll double back and get more. The Chirashi was my second favorite. It's a small yet mighty bowl, and the seafood & tamago were super fresh! I liked the truffle flavor in the Edamame Dumplings and of course the Tuna Rice Cracker needed an appearance on the table. Everything else was either not worth it or didn't hit. Even the cocktails which were a steal at ~$8 but I didn't really taste much besides lime. Great try and definitely a superior Happy Hour in the city!

I had seen double knot on Instagram and everything looks so yummy. I had to visit. It didn't disappoint. I sat downstairs at the bar. The restaurant is absolutely lovely. Two floors with tables and three different bar areas. I started with the pork gyoza which was a little spicy for my taste and didn't taste what I expected it to taste like. I had an avocado and salmon roll, which was absolutely delicious. So fresh! I also had a tuna roll, which was so good! I'm so thankful the bartender talked me into the soft serve ice cream. It had a caramel flavor. It was absolutely to die for I could've licked the bowl. Both bartenders I sat and chatted with, and they were both so nice and attentive. I can't wait to return!

We came here before a broadway show and it was excellent! our server was excellent and was very attentive to our time crunch. Double Knot is almost like a tapas style Japanese restaurant - small plates + a great sushi/roll/sashimi menu (sushi = nigiri also) with some larger entrees sprinkled in. Everything we had was great: wagyu soup dumplings, octopus skewers (Robatayaki), Japanese fried chicken, toro sushi (literally melted in my mouth), scallion roll, yellowtail roll. The vibes were great, low lighting, huge space, would be great for a big group as well! Might have to be our new go to pre theatre spot!

New spot in New York I thought that the happy hour was excellent. I especially loved the large portions of the fried chicken, the kimchi rice and the brussels sprouts I thought that the fried chicken could've used a little bit more better. I also thought that the alcohol could have been a bit stronger but for eight dollars you can't really complain. I would probably pass on the edamame dumplings since it was very filled with cheese; however, I thought that the baos were excellent. Overall, I thought that the happy hour was an excellent price, especially when drinks are only eight dollars. I would definitely come back for happy hour.

The Happy Hour menu was the reason Jennifer and I came here. Double Knot is newly opened and is located on West 51st Street. HH runs from 4 to 6 pm. On entering, the interior is fairly dark and looks romantic. There are two parts to this restaurant one of which is on the ground floor and the other in the lower ground floor. Both have the same menu and the one below is more quiet. The food selections are Asian with sushi, Japanese fried chicken, dumplings etc. Jen ordered the cauliflower with yuzu, kombu and cashews and the chili crisp chicken bao. I chose the grilled chicken thigh, the same bao and Brussels sprouts with puffed rice which though unusual gave it an extra crunchy bite. Jen's non alcoholic cocktail of rum and pineapple, The Baja Knot, was a tad sour so a helping of simple syrup worked wonders. The Carrick Hitch with n/a gin, lychee and Thai basil was delicious so much so that I would like to have it again. Both baos of the crisp chicken baos were hard and leathery. Considering that this is an Asian restaurant, it seems peculiar that this basic item was disappointing. Service was fine and unobtrusive. The restrooms are downstairs which one can go down three flights of stairs and then come back up via an elevator.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
