I would never come here on my own given the price and quality of food. The sushi is just fine. The non-sushi items are good but not incredible. The drinks are fantastic and so is the ambiance, service, and view so that's what you're paying for. And you're paying a lot. But if you're seeking a great sushi experience, do NOT come here. Come here for a social outing with co-workers or friends when you've got some money to burn. Don't get me wrong. The food isn't bad by any stretch of imagination. But you're paying a lot of money so you are (or at least I was) hoping for more. The sauce on the agedashi tofu and shishito peppers were too sweet. The carpaccio was good but not that memorable. I thought the mushroom soup was going to be a lighter broth but it was thick and while good, too heavy. All the sushi was fine but not outstanding. It relies on sauces and other flavors but the fish itself doesn't jump out as anything spectacular. One thing that I did enjoy was the cocktails. Great mixed drinks and that was the highlight but that made the apparent discrepancy of the food being just fine more apparent. Yes you're going to have a fine, if not good meal here. But for the price, I just don't think it's worth it.
I've heard amazing things about Bond ST in Noho, and was excited to try them out at their new-ish location in Hudson Yards. Just note that this is on the top level of the shopping mall. So if you visit on a weekend or during the holidays it can be a little tough to get to because of the crowds. I wasn't sure how the vibe would be since we were in mall, but the ambiance was A+++. So swanky and romantic with amazing views of the lit up vessel. We started off with cucumber gin coolers which were smooth and refreshing. They have lots of small plates which are perfect for sharing. Seaweed salad came with the most delicious sesame dressing. Artichoke tempura was so good and had the best dipping sauce. The crispy shrimp roll was just OK and we probably should've just ordered some crispy shrimp standalone. For mains you cannot sleep on the wagyu skirt steak which comes in a hot skillet with sauteed onions, brussels and kimchi. The steak was cooked to medium perfection. Every bite was savored. I also tried some of my husband's sea bass which was buttery and decadent. Prices are high, but just as expected at a swanky restaurant in Hudson yards. Service was top tier. This was a really solid experience.
We love love love Bond ST and would choose it as a lunch or dinner or both dining option and here's why: - Easy to reserve a table, we initially made a reservation next door at Estiatorio Milos and decided a day ahead to book Bond ST instead. Thankfully, they seem to want people's money and we were able to get a table for more than two, which is impressive for the city. - A vast array of sushi options, but not too much that you're questioning why it's even on the menu taking up space. The rolls they offer are far from basic/that Whole Foods' vibes i.e. cucumber roll, California roll, so it's definitely hard to choose what not to order! - Service and decor are always so top tier, cups are always filled with water and drink refill requests don't even need to be asked or mentioned. Plus, the view of the Vessel and/or the Sunset? So worth We usually order: Warm Mushroom Salad Big Eye Tuna Tarts Grilled Octopus Spicy Crispy Shrimp Tuna Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna Roll Hokkaido Scallop Jalapeño Roll Lobster Tempura Roll Toro Toro Roll Amberjack Nigiri Sea Bream Nigiri Uni Nigiri I will say that although they specialize in fish, their bento boxes and udon are pretty impressive options if someone in the group isn't too fond of seafood. I don't think I've ever tasted anything bad or had a terrible experience here because they truly do aim to please right when you walk through the door.
Delicious sushi and vibes! I love the dark lights and all different sizes of tables. The tuna tart was the standout dish! Spicy tuna roll was the least favorite. Seared salmon was also standout! I will be back! 4 starts cause the prices are a bit steep for some basic rolls.
Located inside Hudson Yards, perfect for a pick-me-up after shopping. Sat by the bar, had a glass of Vermentino and a salmon avocado roll. I'll definitely return to try more! Service is courteous
Came with a friend and got the bento table. It was a LOT of food. Sushi was alright but the other courses were better. The inside is really nicely decorated although it was a bit cold. Service was great.
Yesterday, I went with a large group and my baby to this location and it is very modern and sleek. The ambiance is very welcoming and the staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. They helped us store our birthday cakes that we had brought with us with no charge, although they do charge a cake cutting fee of $10 per slice so we didn't eat it at the restaurant but they did help us light the candle and bring it to the table while singing happy birthday which was very thoughtful of them! They made sure our glasses were never empty and checked up on us from time to time! The food was great but unfortunately, not for the price. The portions are very tiny, and they were presented it as shareable. The price range for the appetizers alone were in $30-$40 which would have been fine if the sizes of the apps were just a bit bigger. My favorite dish was the Chilean Sea Bass and the apps with the raw dish were all good. The steak was very tender and delicious! I'd definitely recommend them. The presentation is beautiful as well, especially the Hokkaido Scallop with Uni I'd like to recommend this place , but unless you order a bunch of dishes, you will leave hungry and the only problem I had with this restaurant was the size of the dishes, but the dishes themselves are delicious!
So, yes - you have to navigate through the consumer and corporate glitzy hellscape of a modern mall called Hudson Yards to get to this dazzling tower of exquisite culinary goodness - but just do it. When you step into BONDST you step into a head nodding-ly tasty experience of originality. Also "Location" by Carti was playing when I walked in and the cuts stayed relentless until the end of the night. The decor is immaculate, if not more positioned towards the executive class crowds who might not want to deal with the OG location's more down to earth vibe. Regardless, the view and the kind and considerate staff had me feeling like the definition of good service lives here. MUST HITS: - Tuna tart (lactose intolerant beware but f it, it's worth it) - Yellowtail sashimi - Tuna and spicy crab crispy rice - Any of the entrees - Spicy tuna roll - Crusted shrimp - Hirame and Kinmedai nigiri
Went for a work related cocktail reception. There were wine, cocktails and passed appetizers. I had a lycee martini which was very sweet but nice. Passed appetizers were assorted sushi, miso eggplant, shrimp, Chilean sea bass, crab salad on rice cracker and steak. All the food was great but especially loved the eggplant and crab salad. Will comeback to try a sit down meal
I've had better sushi before, food was ok,not the best sushi rolls I've ever had though they were still good.Servers weren't nice or mean they were in the middle.A little not worth it, because of expensiveness.And hip-hop definitely did not match Japanese style.
Came here on a Saturday for lunch with a 12:15 reservation. Lovely decor and a great view of the Vessel outside. We were seated promptly and the attentive & friendly staff took our food and drink orders soon thereafter. We ordered the mixed salad which has a vibrant ginger dressing, the okonomiyaki which had great flavor, and the soufflé matcha pancake which was fluffy and tasted great. For dessert, we got the green tea mille crepe which was nice, but the standout was the bread pudding which was excellent! Definitely recommend trying this place out!
Lunch at Bond ST was an unexpected pleasure. The seating was nice with views of the Hudson Yard Courtyard. The kitchen and service was also open to view. I had the spicy crispy shrimp and a lychee martini 10/10 for me. My friends had the spicy crispy cauliflower and mixed green salad. The food was full of flavor and the dressings were so good. I rarely eat fish but I had to give a 10 to the Chilean sea bass. Price is $$$! For lunch but I would go back for sure. Check and Check! Oooh almost forgot service was a 10 thumbs up to the staff.

We came here before the Mumford & Sons concert and absolutely loved it! The restaurant is located on the fifth floor and has such a great atmosphere. Every dish had unique, memorable flavors. The yellowtail had a different texture than what I'm used to, but it was delicious, and the sauce on the branzino was incredible. Everything we tried felt creative and unlike dishes we've had elsewhere. We really enjoyed our experience and hope we get the chance to come back again! I also wish I could've remembered our servers name. She was so amazing! read more

Killer view if you end up getting window seat- can literally see sunset along with the Vessel We ordered salads, tuna appetizer, some rolls, short ribs, mushroom rice and steak- despite Bondst being sushi/ Japanese restaurant, I actually really enjoyed the steak and esp mushroom rice. I couldn't get a reservation on OpenTable, but I decided to try my luck with a walk in. Even though the restaurant was packed, they were able to seat me, which was a great start to the evening. They welcomed us with complimentary edamame, a nice touch while we looked over the menu. We ordered the Vancouver oysters and the 12 ounce Wagyu steak. Both dishes were delicious. The oysters definitely have a unique, acquired taste, but if you're an oyster fan, they're worth trying. The Wagyu was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. One of the highlights of the experience was the beautiful sunset view from the window, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. Between the great food, accommodating service, and scenic setting, it's definitely worth checking out. read more

Dinner was superb, so fresh and delicious. An amazing amount of detail went into the presentation, preparation and flavor of every bite. The easily accommodated my gluten free needs without missing anything. Service was impressive. My server guided me well. Modern decor with a calming clean feel. They did not crowd the tables which made the experience feel relaxed. read more

Came here for a work lunch, paid for by work, so my pov is probably colored by the fact that I didn't have to pay with my own money. The food was delicious. The big eye tuna tart was probably everyone's favorite. I thought the spicy crispy shrimp was a bit regular. Yellowtail sashimi was good. I loved all the crispy rice but also just love crispy rice. The seabass and steak were great. The ambiance is really nice and perfect for a work lunch or whatever other occasion you need. Since this was a work lunch, I asked if they could customize the menu with our companies logos and they also say us with a view of the vessel. Overall, great experience, great food. Luxurious dining experience nestled in Hudson Yards- make sure you have a reservation as spots can fill up quick! Came here at 5:30 on a Wednesday and was able to snag a seat by the windows. Since it was our first time, the waiter was kind enough to give us a complimentary big eye tuna tart as it's one of their more popular dishes. We split the crispy rice and a few rolls which was plenty! The only downside is that it is quite pricey for sushi, but you're paying for the quality and the view. read more

I came here on a Wednesday at noon. It wasn't too crowded as it had just opened and my friend and I got a seat with a beautiful view of the vessel. The big eye tuna tarts had really great truffle flavor, my friend was not a fan of the ponzu sauce that reminded her too much of mayonnaise but the different textures of the crispy tart, tuna and ponzu was nice. I asked for no asparagus in my salmon avocado roll and it was perfect. There was a great portion of salmon and the salmon flavor was there and fresh. The tuna crispy rice was also delicious Great service They also offer a lunch prefix menu ($48 for 3 courses) that looked like a great deal. I would definitely come back to try it read more

The Hudson Yards Bond ST location was nice overall! There are some obvious strengths, including a beautiful space with amazing views of the Vessel and the Hudson. Bonus points if you can go around sunset. Service was also excellent, with very attentive waitstaff who had helpful recommendations about the menu. In terms of the food itself, there were some fantastic dishes -- the Big Eye Tuna Tarts were a great appetizer, and the Chilean Sea Bass was phenomenal, it was a clear favorite at our table. The rest of the dishes were fine, but nothing to write home about, if I'm being honest. At the price point of this restaurant, I expected a little more consistency with quality and flavors. Glad I checked it out, but I wouldn't be rushing here next time I'm ready to splurge on a nice dining experience. read more
I do not give 5 Stars often but this place earned it. When visiting the Vessel or Hudson Yard you will be surprised to know that the real work of art is NOT the Vessel outside but the food at Bond ST. Amazing flavor and excellent presentation, I have been to many great restaurants but the ambiance and service here out does many Michelin Star restaurants. Great attitude by the staff, they know the dishes and present them flawlessly. We experienced the brunch on a weekend and they kept the service at top notch. By the way Brendan, one of the managers was super attentive to us which gave a real VIP feeling. read more

High quality, great tasting sushi and cocktails. Both the lychee martini and the toasted barley old fashioned were well balanced. Omakase was a great selection, each piece unique and delicious. The toro toro roll and scallop jalapeño roll (though I didn't taste any jalapeño at all) were top notch. The complimentary edamame was also a nice touch. Ask for a table with a window view if you make reservations in advance. It's on the pricier side but given the location at Hudson yards that is to be expected. read more

Perfect "Saturday night in NYC" ambiance. Good music, perfect lighting, vibrant crowd. We had an amazing server, some delicious food, (when they say order the Tuna tarts, don't think twice, just do it) and equally good drinks. I had a few Lychee martinis! We loved the NY Strip Steak, which we shared, the salmon nigiri was perfect, and the chocolate meltdown was the perfect ending. Don't hesitate. read more
Finding the restaurant in Hudson Yards took a few folks from our group in circles. Make sure to read the hanging signs for BondSt and look for Level 5 elevators. Once you're inside, the views are amazing, and the food and drinks even better. Everything we ordered was delicious and the sushi melts in your mouth. Highly recommend! we.love.BONST. From their aps to sushi to entrees, Bond ST serves what we believe the best affordable sushi in the city! Their Hudson livation is beautiful, servers friendly, and the ambiance is very rich! We tried their crispy tuna rice(5/5), yellowtail jalapeño(5/5), salmon rolls(5/5), and salmon dish(4/5)! All were delicious ! Def recommend! read more

BondST Hudson Yards is a vibe-y Japanese-style restaurant with fabulous views. The place gets busy by 6 pm, so be sure you have a reservation or arrive early. I typically stay away from Asian cuisine as a vegetarian & someone with a shellfish allergy, but BondST does have some good vegetarian options and refreshing cocktails. I thoroughly enjoyed the small plates we tried: Avocado Crispy Rice (my fave), Eggplant Steamed Buns (special-but these need to be permanent), Beet & Goat Cheese Salad (special-so unique and flavorful), Yasai Roll, and Crispy Cauliflower. The desserts are phenomenal and you'd be crazy to skip: the Lava Cake and Bread Pudding are musts. The only reason I take off one star is because our waiter on this particular evening was pleasant but made a few passive aggressive comments (1. When my friend arrived a bit late she said "oh finally" in a slightly rude tone, and 2. She asked for allergies/restrictions and we said shellfish...at the end of offering she suggested the tuna tarte and I said oh no thanks it sounds nice but I'm vegetarian-to which she responded "yeah that's what I tried to ask earlier.") I just thought these comments were a bit odd and it kind of killed the vibe. Nonetheless, food and atmosphere is great and I highly suggest a visit! read more
Very loud, located on the 5th floor in the Hudson Yards Mall. Walk in, greeted and directed to table quickly enough, and there was a very loud bar to the side which only got louder as the night progressed through dinner. If you're ok with noise - you'll make it work here. Great view of the Vessel outside at night. Food - I arrived and my fellow diners already had a number of dishes on the table: Fluke Sashimi w/ the watermelon radish, the Yellowtail sashimi with , a little spice to it, were both ok - I've had more interesting preparations but solid here. The scallops with uni, though, excellent preparation, I enjoyed this for the easy way it melted down into your mouth and down the throat in a cool delicious swallow. Spicy crispy shrimp was good, a little spicy may outside and crisp hot coating fried. Short rib foie gras gyoza - eh, pass for me. It was pasty and ok, but not outstanding like the beef dumplings at Nobu. Seared scallops were ok, came with some crispy fried fish skin. We shared the Japanese A-5 Wagyu Ribeye - excellent, so rich and fatty it literally melted in your mouth, the chimichurri there was excellent. Chilean sea bass in miso - too thick for any flavor in the middle other than some fishiness, didn't have enough miso flavor, skip it, as a disappointing dish. Sushi tray was a filler dish. The oh-toro (most fatty) was good, the rest was about average. Next time I have to ask for sashimi instead of nigiri, though. And some edible gold on the sushi - eh, would've preferred they spent that on something else, next time I will skip the sushi. Dessert shined, though, relative to the rest of the meal. Mochi ice cream, excellent, just a little sweet, cold and not too hard; perfectly served temperature-wise to enjoy. BondSt donuts were a hit - delicious and puff of sweet and warm with some creme and jelly. The Lychee panna cotta - again, waste of putting gold foil on it, but the panna cotta itself was firm and tasty. I'll definitely look to come back for dessert and the wagyu. The rest, I've had better elsewhere, but this is still above average. Service was pretty constant, good house iced tea that was kept refilled and changes of plates and dishes were at a good pace, but every once in a while they disappeared for a bit. read more
Elevated sushi spot in the heart of Hudson yards! We arrived a little late to our reservation but were still seated promptly. It wasn't too packed. One side has nice views of the vessel while the other side is more quiet. Service was great and prompt. While the food was more on the expensive side, it was all delicious. read more
Came for a team dinner and everything was amazing. We ordered every sushi roll on the menu except for the ones that had salmon. Rolls that had tuna were the best. the karage, crispy rice, and octopus were really good. Was able to have a bite of the donuts which I would also recommend. It's a very beautiful space and the food came out quickly, especially with a party of eight. read more
