Awhile back I made a trip to the big city to hang out with my Wall Street peeps. Oceans New York is one of her favorite restaurants and since she knows I'm a self proclaimed foodie, she thought I'd love it. Yep, she was RIGHT! Better make reservations because I guess this is on every Manhattaner's favorite restaurant list.. Geezus! The bread before the meal is quite delicious. Although it is not hot, I like the olive oil and butter very much. The milky fragrance and the fragrance of olive oil are quite strong, but it's a pity that I forgot to ask which one it is. I ordered 6 oysters, which are from the east and west coasts respectively. It is obvious that the east coast is more delicious, sweeter and cleaner. The west coast will have a little fishy smell. And their oysters are really small, so small that the shell is not as big as the sauce plate, which is a little outrageous. Black-headed grouper is good. It's quite fresh, with a moist taste and no smell. The aged steak ordered at the end is really a little amazing. I have eaten some aged steak before, but the flavor of this restaurant is more layered. It has a strong milky fragrance, and at the same time, it has a little fermented taste similar to bacon, but it is not very strong. It is the kind of feeling that you just remember. The degree of cooking is well controlled, it tastes very tender, and the seasoning is not too salty. The vegetables with it are a little sour, which can relieve the greasy, which is quite a plus. Overall, this meal is a little unexpected. If you come for seafood, this restaurant is good, but if you order the aged steak, it is easier to leave an impression. read more

Wonderful girls night dinner at Oceans. We did not have a table reservation, so we at first stayed at the bar. The wait would be 2 hours! However we ended up getting a table next to the bar within 30 mins. It was a very fun atmosphere and very crowded! We ordered several dishes to share, a few rolls, beef tataki and broccolini. The happy hour is good for drinks and oysters but the actual fish was insanely underwhelming. I ordered the black cod and the outside had a ton of flavor. The fish itself was also cooked really well. But the broth that it was sitting in tasted like water and the vegetables were nothing special. I definitely preferred my roll which was actually very delicious. That being said the bread/oil and butter they bring in the beginning is a nice touch, the interior is really beautiful and classy, and the service is elevated. Incredible experience!! I was part of a party of 3 and somehow some way they had tables available on a Saturday night with only a few hours of notice. We got sat right away and our waitress was a delight to interact with. We started off with the Provence for a drink. Excellently crafted, it was floral, crisp, not too sweet. Highly recommend! We got a ton food so here's how it went: Spicy yellowtail- delishhhh, fish was super fresh King tuna roll- very good tuna tartare- could have used a little more sodium, but the tuna was gorgeous beef tataki- good but small portion Pandora full fish sashimi- we got this because the red snapper was sold out but we didnt miss that snapper at all! the pandora was buttery, fresh, and fell off your fork from how tender it was. I loved the way it was dressed too with lemon, olive oil, and a touch of garlic. A different take than the typical sashimi you can find anywhere else in nyc. So good but lets not forget the beautiful presentation! Definitely picture worthy. The waitress let us know it was about 2.5 pounds but dont let that number intimidate you. It was perfect for 3 people and even 2 people can handle it just fine. The price for that fish was $130. Fried pandora- Once we polished off all the sashimi pieces, they offered to fry the fish head free of charge, we said heck yea. That was fun to experience Black cod- super buttery and tender NY strip- wow a top tier steak. Not many places have quality dry aged beef. this was a pleasant surprise coming from a seafood restaurant. I am having trouble classifying this restaurant. Is it seafood? Is it Japanese? Is it a mixture of seafood, Japanese, plus some random Mexican and Italian items thrown in there? Regardless, the food here was delicious. I ordered the following and loved them all: * Rocketman roll: peekytoe crab, seared salmon, and truffle miso sauce * Tsunami sushi: torched hamachi, jalapeño, and ponzu * Half of a chilled lobster tail -- this was de-shelled into pieces so it was easier to eat * Coconut tres leches cake with passionfruit sorbet Their focaccia bread with olive oil and whipped butter was heavenly. Not only was the focaccia crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and with just the right amount of flakey salt, it was served with a mixture of amazing olive oil and whipped butter. I couldn't decide which to dip the focaccia in...so I dunked it in the olive oil *and* also swiped it against a pad of whipped butter. It tasted exceptionally good that way! Before leaving the restaurant, you should use their fancy toilet in the bathroom. Even if you don't have to go, you should go. There were multiple digital buttons. Cesar was the best v attentive friendly n informative. You could see all the various fresh fish on display. We started off w house focacia breads warm n fresh w olive oil. The Cesar salad was very tasty n fresh . Was enough for 3 people to share . The rocket man was so good w crab salmon n truffle miso sauce. Never tried it before n am glad I did. For entrees had the langostine . Was pan fried n put back in shell. Cane w pasta n shrimp In a tomato based sauce. Delicious. The Hokkaido scallops was in a porcini crème that was yummy. The scallops tasted v good. We also saw on display Japanese red snapper n never heard of it before. Asked Cesar n he said it was similar to the regular red snapper but a lil more meaty n flavorful, so we were adventurous n thought we'd try it. Oh my god it was pan seared and had a nice flavor to it n tasted so good n worth it, Warming when we got our check we saw that it just cost us $110 for the Japanese red snapper. I had yet another absolutely phenomenal night at Oceans everything from the food to the drinks to the service was flawless, as always. From start to finish, this place never misses. We kicked things off with their focaccia bread, which is quite literally the best bread I've ever had in my life. Warm, fluffy, and topped with flaky sea salt, it's like eating a heavenly, buttery pillow. Paired with ultra-smooth butter and olive oil, it's the perfect start to any meal. We began with the ceviche, and it was so fresh. The raw fish and shrimp were delicate, placed on a crispy tostada with avocado and a drizzle of tangy sauce a perfect flavor and texture balance. Then came the Rocketman roll, and it was a flavor bomb. The crab inside was delicious, the seared salmon on top melted in my mouth, and the truffle miso sauce took it to the next level. We also got two other rolls (can't remember the names) and they were just as incredible every bite was a perfect harmony of flavor and texture. The Toro tartare was beautifully presented served on a bed of ice, layered with cream and caviar, and paired with chips for the ultimate bite. I still personally prefer the tuna tartare, but this one was a standout. The crab cake is one of my favorite appetizers ever, crispy outside, tender crab inside, and balanced perfectly with the sauce underneath. We also had the shrimp scampi, which came in a garlicky, lemony sauce that was so good, especially when dipped with the grilled bread it comes with. The Caesar salad was drenched in parmesan and somehow turned this classic dish into something special crunchy croutons, crisp lettuce, and bold, cheesy flavor in every bite. For my main, I finally tried the salmon, and it was amazing crispy on top, juicy on the inside, served over cherry tomatoes, corn, and peppers in a creamy, flavorful sauce that brought it all together. People also got the steak and the short rib, and both were a hit the short rib literally fell apart it was so tender. For sides, the crispy fries were addicting, the mashed potatoes were cloud-like, and my personal obsession the roasted rainbow carrots were heavenly. I basically devoured the entire plate myself. And then dessert. We had the molten chocolate cake crispy on the outside with rich, warm chocolate oozing from the center, paired perfectly with vanilla bean ice cream. We also tried the tres leches for the first time and it was a hit the flavor was balanced and the meringue on top was just divine. The classic donuts are a MUST every time served with caramel and chocolate sauces, they're beyond addictive. And the strawberry Pavlova was a showstopper. The crisp meringue, the pistachio cream, the raspberry sorbet, the fresh strawberries it was perfection. Our waitress Aneta truly made the experience even more special. She was so friendly and just a joy to see pleasant, attentive, and so thoughtful in tailoring the experience to us. She anticipated everything we wanted, checked in at all the right moments, and was so easy and delightful to talk to. Catching up with her was such a bonus to an already unforgettable night. The attention to detail here is exceptional. I came here for a corporate dinner. A group of about 30. The waitress saw my name tag and said aahh kaivona , welcome and recited out my dietary preferences. After some time when she came around to take orders, I asked her about the menu and again she made sure to say which items had lactose , dairy, etc. I never once had to ask for a refill on water or Prosecco or wine. They were on it! Impeccable service The food is also delicious. The crab cake amazing. Salmon and the purse really incredible . Cooked to the perfect temp. The chocolate dessert is soooo rich. I highly recommend ordering one to share. It is impossible to finish, and I am a deep lover of chocolate. I wish it had ice cream to go along with it . The cheesecake was great as well. My only comment here is the crust was soo hard I couldn't really cut through it. For the most part I just ate the inside and left the crust because it took me mashing into the plate to get a piece. I was planning a dinner with a friend that focused much of her diet around seafood and vegetables, so I wanted to find a restaurant that offered a good number of appealing options for her. Oceans was high on my list and the one that most called out to her as well. On the night in question, we ran into each other as we were approaching the beautiful corner spot. The restaurant had a few outdoor tables on its quieter, 19th Street side (rather than busy Park Avenue South), but we walked inside to claim a table instead. The sprawling restaurant had a massive bar and high-top tables as a sort of lounge space on one side and large, semi-circle booths and standard tables on the other side. The space was modern, classy, and simply stunning. We were seated and presented with both standard and Restaurant Week menus. While everything on the regular menu sounded incredible, the smaller RW list of options was much more diverse and varied than most restaurants typically offer. So, we decided to select the enticing three-course prix fixe. After placing our order, we were each given a large square of soft, fluffy focaccia bread that we could dip into a small dish that had aromatic olive oil in one half and whipped butter in the other. We were debating if we should order an alcoholic beverage, but decided to do so, as it just seemed like it would enhance the lengthy tasting menu experience. I asked for a taste of the Vermentino, a white wine varietal that I typically adored, but I found this one a bit too acidic for me. It was definitely complex, but not what I was looking for that night. Instead, both my friend and I settled on the Movie Star, a straight-up martini composed of Grey Goose L'Orange Vodka, ginger liqueur, St. Germain, ginger, and lemon. We absolutely adored the zesty drink, but it was definitely not for someone that was not a fan of that spice. It was not overwhelmingly strong from an alcohol perspective, but it certainly packed a bunch of ginger flavor. From a food perspective, I started with the Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll with cucumber and scallions. I was shocked at just how fresh and delicious it was, given that the restaurant was not a real sushi spot. I also adored that they had blended the chopped fish with only a hint of mayonnaise, allowing it to provide a light amount of spice while still being able to really taste the tuna. My friend had started with the creamy Wild Mushroom Soup instead, and she really liked it as well. We both selected the Norwegian Salmon for our main course, and I really appreciated that they had asked us how we wanted ours cooked; so few places ask about that, and I almost always find my salmon either too rare or too done for my liking, but the chef executed the filet perfectly to my vision. It was cooked through, but still moist, and it had a lightly crispy top. The fish was served in a creamy corn broth that included bright, colorful pieces of cherry tomatoes, corn, haricot vert, and peppers. It was a real summery dish. For dessert, we decided to get one of each of the options and share them. The Banoffee Pudding was essentially sliced bananas, sitting in a banana custard that was topped with whipped cream, chocolate balls, and a toffee sauce. The fruity dessert had clearly used fresh ingredients, as everything tasted natural and without added sugar. The Frozen Key Lime Bar was similarly not super sweet, but was definitely tart. The cold, thick curd had been shaped into a long rectangle, and it had been covered with a chocolate ganache drizzle. Both desserts were good, but I preferred the flavors of the other courses. Lastly, in terms of the service, it was stellar from start to finish. We were properly greeted when we arrived, received amazing and friendly service from Cesar throughout our meal, were gifted passion fruit jelly candies with our check, and were sent off with a nice goodbye. On our way out, I noticed that the host stand had business cards for OCEANS, as well as for Carlotto next door, which I had forgotten was an excellent Italian restaurant from the same team. This place was very classy, chic, and business casual. I mean from the moment you walk in you feel it's at a different level. Is it pricey? It depends on what you consider pricey. Is it worth it? Absolutely worth every dime. It's nice for a get together, or business dinner, or friends wanting to catch up, it's especially nice for date night. My brother took me there. He wanted to treat me to a nice dinner and he succeeded. Everything on the menu looks delicious. It makes it difficult to choose if you're not picky. Picking a glass of wine or sake is also a treat. We had the pleasure of going to Oceans this weekend. We were immediately seated at a table in the back with a view of the whole restaurant. They have a big bar and fresh fish display outside the open air kitchen. We ordered cocktails to start - the After Glow and the Plaid Fashioned. We also ordered the Spanish Octopus. It was cooked to perfection- the onions and beans seemed weird to me at first but if you had a bite with all the layers, it was the perfect bite. The tuna tartare was SO fresh! I could've ate that by the spoonful! For dinner, we had the halibut and scallops special. I have zero complaints. Whatever sauce the scallops were cooked in was so good. For dessert, we had espresso martinis and the banana Banoffee. It was like a banana pudding/custard with hints of chocolate and Graham cracker. Worth every penny! I had this place on my list since visiting the original sibling in Vancouver. Just post Covid we were on vacation and ended up having a superb restaurant at a Canadian seafood specialist. When we inquired about the restaurant, they mentioned that the owners were almost ready to open a location in New York on Park Ave. and so here we are. A few years later but this fish centric hotspot is buzzing and the food is just really wonderful. It is actually surprising how high quality the food was, how stunning the plating was and how on point the service was given how sizable the restaurant is. Feels like it might be in the former Park Avenue Country Club space but my memory might betray me as it's been so many years. Regardless, the space is nice and they have bathrooms on the main level as well as downstairs. Cool Toto toilets to boot. They have a nice wine and cocktail list and bartenders who really aim to please. As part of a birthday celebration, my friends and I split several menu items. To start, we had the wagyu tartare special-yum! We also had the octopus appetizer which was so delicious, cooked to perfection and teeming with flavors that were bright and really worked well together. We also shared a sashimi appetizer with jalapeño. The fish quality was very high. We also shared Branzino grilled and filleted tableside. Friends had the red prawn special and short ribs. All just spot on. Veggie sides were nice. And the blueberry cheesecake was also a nice finishing touch. Can't think of a miss here. It's not the most creative spot in a city filled with unique appt to dine but Oceans serves really lovely food, in civilized yet enjoyable and lively atmosphere with very reliable service. The ambiance is dimly lit but full of robust energy. The service was impeccable- not once was my glass empty and not once was i left without asking if i needed something. The fish was fresh! The food was sensational . I always like to try Mac and cheese on the menu and it blew me away with how moist, cheesy and full of lobster pieces it had. I wish i took pictures of my friend's sushi because that was also so good. But if i ever came back here, it was for the mango passionfruit sorbet, their drinks and the sushi! Hands down. Came here for a nice dinner with a friend. The reason for minimal stars is for our waiter... I'll leave him unnamed for now... we all have bad days. But he was not it... I've been to oceans a few times and the quality of the food is always consistent and good. Almost everything on their menu is yummy and there's a good variety of things even for a picky eater. It's a place that you could get a reservation easily even if it's same day - so it's a convenient spot for what I referred to (past tense now) as a layover (or last minute) quality dining experience. I'm guessing this is because the space is large and the dining room is pretty grand. The space itself and ambiance are beautifully maintained and maybe TMI but the bathrooms are gorgeous and have Toto toilets so you feel like you're on a throne. This has stayed consistent for the numerous times I've gone; the service however is pretty bad now. If the seafood platter could have been ordered to go - it would have been a nicer experience than dining there. Our waiter made it seem like it was a complete inconvenience to look at us or even speak to us. Maybe he was overwhelmed or they are understaffed but it was honestly a really bad and uncomfortable experience (I have my theories as to why but they will remain theories). My friend and I were there to celebrate and so we asked about the seafood platter; I specified that I did not really like clams and mussels and asked if they could be subbed or if we should order something else and he said - it was ok and he'd check once the food came out to see if anything needed to be changed. So we started off well but after that - he fell off of the planet. The entire meal he was just rushing by us without saying a word. He seemed like he was running around a bit so I asked him if we could order additional items as I wanted him to have the time he needed - he looked upset and replied "You already ordered with me. You ordered the seafood platter". I clarified that I wanted to know if we could order more food off of the menu and unfortunately I didn't take the sign then that it was going to go downhill so we put more food in. After our food arrived. We needed additional items like ketchup, mayo, bread, drink menu...that we asked for as he ran by. Wasn't brought by him so we had to ask another person. Some of the items that we asked for MULTIPLE TIMES didn't even come. It was almost like once we ordered - any attempt at service was dropped. No check back in about the clams or mussels which went untouched as we did not like them. Never checked in about the food at all let alone said a single word to us after it was put on the table. After multiple silent "drivebys" - and flagging him down he stopped and asked if we needed boxes ... for everything that was left on the seafood platter - I am being literal when I say that was the only question he asked during our meal. Never asked about offering another drink, dessert, tea or coffee. NOTHING. Even when our drinks had been empty. A lot of the food wasn't eaten bc we didn't have the things we asked for... He started to walk away after we said no thank you to boxes and at that point I was ready to leave. So I asked him if he could bring the check and gave him my card - he took it and didn't say a single additional word. When he returned he dropped the bill on the table and left. NO WORDS EXCHANGED. Not a single word. I mean this literally - no exaggeration - this man straight up mic dropped our check on the table. Let's put this into context for clarity. This was a ~$500 meal for 2 people...and we didn't even finish the food...or have more than one drink so it genuinely could have been more had he done his job With that said; I'd rather take my business elsewhere. I still think the food is amazing. Just being in a place where you're treated like actual trash gives me the ick so I won't be returning. read more

I can count on one hand the number of times I've eaten somewhere when dining out of town, and I decide I must return to this restaurant again before I leave the city in question. That's precisely what happened on this trip to New York City. Over the weekend, we were in town with friends for fun--a Broadway show, the MOMA, dining out, sightseeing, etc. One of our favorite dinners was at Oceans New York. Everyone in our party of four LOVED their foodie-quality meal that night. The service was fantastic, and the setting was very nice. As the name suggests, Oceans is a seafood destination, but several land-dwelling protein choices exist. Everyone in our party opted for seafood. My S.O. had the Sea Bass special, I had the Dover Sole, and both of our companions ordered the Halibut (which they have difficulty finding in Florida, where they live). We also chose a side of Roasted Broccolini for the table. We all felt that our dishes were excellent! The fish was cooked perfectly, and the accouterments were perfectly matched, enhancing the flavor and presentation. We also immensely enjoyed our appetizers (Tuna Tarare x 2, Wild Mushroom Soup, Crab Cake) and the shared dessert (Pavlova). Everyone else returned home after the weekend, but I stayed behind for a few days of business and couldn't help but return for a solo visit after a full day of work nearby. I opted for a lighter meal this time by ordering from the Sushi menu. Once again, everything was exceptional. If it weren't for the work-related dinner event I am attending tonight, I might even visit a third time before heading home to Boston tomorrow afternoon. We made reservations here because I wanted seafood and my husband wanted to try a Michelin star restaurant. Upon entering, the hostess offered to check our backpack, which was nice. The space is classy but I noticed some patrons wearing t-shirts so I don't think they're strict on dress code. There is complementary focaccia with butter/olive oil served at the beginning of the meal and complementary passion fruit gummy candy served at the end of the meal. We ordered a crab cake and the rocketman roll for appetizers (mostly because my husband was amused at the term "peekytoe" crab lol). They were delicious! As a Japanese person, I'm usually suspicious of western sushi rolls. They tend to have way too many ingredients haphazardly included in them, which leads to flavors that are muddled or overwhelming where you can't appreciate the main ingredient (fish/seafood) of the roll. This roll was delicious! The ingredients complimented each other perfectly without detracting from the fish/crab. Crab cake was full of meat and seasoned/cooked well too. We walked over to the seafood display and decided to share a branzino. It was our first time trying branzino and it was delicious! It's cooked and served to you whole but the server takes off the main pieces of meat and discards the head/skeleton/tail for you (unless of course you want to eat the head/cheeks). The sides were also delicious. Looking back, I kind of wish we ordered entrees from the main menu rather than grilled fish so that we could really appreciate the technique and flavors of a Michelin Star restaurant. The fish was indeed fresh and everything tasted great but that rocketman roll really set the bar high for unique flavors! We shared a lava cake for dessert and they wrote us a happy anniversary on the plate since we noted it on our reservation. I had gone to the restroom to wash my hands and saw the waiter leaving the kitchen with the dessert on the way. When I came back to the table, the dessert wasn't there. I noticed the host grabbed it from a holding area on the side and waited for me to be seated before serving it so that was a nice touch. The bathrooms are along a wall down a hallway in the back of the restaurant. The doors don't really stick out but they're on your right. They have fancy electric toilets like those in Japan so I was a bit overwhelmed at first despite everything being in English lol. I keep coming back here. The food is always reliably delicious. The setting is elegant and uncrowded. Service has always been good. I'm still a fan of the Afterglow cocktail (even at $24 or so, which is pricey). I've never ordered anything I didn't enjoy. The mushroom soup is really delicious. Last time I was there I had the crab cake appetizer, which was also delicious, followed by the salmon. I didn't want the brussels sprouts and the waiter was accommodating in having them kept off my dish. For dessert I had the olive oil cake, which wasn't particularly memorable. read more

If you don't like fish that are too fatty or too thin, you can order snapper. The sashimi is very fresh, with moderate fat and not greasy, and very refreshing. Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail Charred Spanish Octopus Brised Lamb Casarecce The prawn sashimi is delicious, nothing special; the grilled octopus is very good, the grilled octopus is chewy and tasty, with large white beans and onion shreds, the taste is very rich; the lamb pasta is super delicious! Had the best sashimi I've ever had in my life! Aesthetically and taste wise it was perfect. I dipped it in the sauce the shrimp came with and it was amazing wow. What I didn't like about my experience was the fact that they brought out entrees out while my friend and I were in the restroom. They should've waited. By the time we came back my food was cold and I told the server about it. He took it back to get it heated up but that made it a little dry. I was there on expense account which was good bc it seemed a bit pricy for what it is. I think Oceans is going for the triple threat "Big Deal" restaurant: 1. Great/good food; 2. Great service; 3. Great ambiance. I am totally happy for paying up for the trifecta. Service started great - the sommelier is fantastic. We were only ordering 2 half bottles but he took it as seriously as if it was a much larger order. The initial server was also very good - then things went a bit downhill. Improperly fileted fish for one. Hard to get water. These aren't big infractions but if you want the Big Deal designation, it has to be perfect. The ambiance is quite nice but 4 stars not 5. On to the food: the apps were both good but not amazing. Had the tsunami and one other dish I can't remember which tells you how "memorable" it is. The main courses were better. The black cod plate was fantastic - so moist and flavorful. Each added garnish and vegetable added to the dish. A 5+ star dish. The waiter recommended a fish of the day that hadn't made it on the menu, forget what it was, but super fresh. SImple but perfect grill - if only there hadn't been bones. The brussels sprouts were about what you would expect. The sorbet was just good - the berry flavors stood out. The pear dish was actually a chocolate cake type thing with some chopped pear garnish. A bit misleading and not that great. If I take out clients to a "big deal" restaurant, I expect to pay a real premium, but I also expected to get food with more "wow". read more

The essence of fine dining and breathing was among us. My friends and I came during restaurant week and oh my did we have a good time. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The lighting was dim, it was very romantic, but I could also see tables of friends enjoying themselves on an evening dining experience. Our server was fantastic, knowledgeable, gave great recommendations on both drinks and food. One of my friends just had some tea, another had a glass of wine, and two of us had Hennessy Sidecars. Our cocktails were scrumptious. We came in saying we'd only have one, but of course we had to make it two. For restaurant week, you were able to get one appetizer, one entrée, and one dessert. For the appetizer, two of us got the salads, one had the mushroom soup, and another had the spicy tuna roll. Everyone loved their appetizers, I mean, loved. That market salad was damn good if I must say. The sherry vinegar dressing with the freshness of the vegetables & fruit adornment was outstanding. I'm not a fan of mushrooms, but I tried my friend's mushroom soup as I dipped the table bread into it and boy oh boy was that mess good. The bread itself was also absolutely delicious. We ended up getting two orders. For our meals, two the boys had the squid ink pasta, one had the salmon and I ordered the filet. As soon as my man's with the salmon saw the splitting pasta, he asked our waiter if he would be able to switch to that, he couldn't let that meal pass up. The waiter was extremely accommodating and switched it out with no worry or hesitation. He was then promptly given an order of the squid ink pasta. The salmon did look delicious, but after tasting the pasta, he was happy he made the switch. They thoroughly enjoyed it, I mean, damn near lick the bowl until it was clean. My fillet was absolutely perfect. A medium cook with a steak that was SEASONED! Every crevice and surface of that steak was adorned with salt and pepper, which I feel in some cases is a lost art, but the chefs knew exactly what they were doing. The mashed potatoes were also good. The broccolini didn't get as much love as I had tore the salad up, but that was good as well. Only two of us got dessert, I got the rice pudding, and my friend got the cheesecake. The rice pudding was a bit underwhelming as it wasn't sweet, mainly citrusy & I was looking to satisfy my sweet tooth. But the cheesecake was absolutely delicious, I was able to try my friends, and I should've gotten that. I just made the mistake of eating my dessert before the waiter came over to check. That's what I get for being greedy lol. Overall, we had such a pleasant time at Ocean's. Would definitely recommend anyone to try! read more

Truly 5 start experience and price. The bar, the service, the menu, everything is excellent. The wine list is gorgeous with a beautiful red Chateau Margaux by the glass. Perfect complement to an amazing meal. Gorgeous sushi, beautiful restaurant week menu, great appetizers, perfect shrimp cocktail, flavorful ceviche, the most gorgeous salmon preparation ever. Beautifully prepared piece of fish, creamy/frothy carrot sauce, perfect veggies. Rigatoni Neri is a superb example of al dente pasta prepared with seafood that's not hammered and just scrumptious. We loved Carlotto so wanted to try this place. It was good but overall a bit unremarkable. We liked the free focaccia to start (which I believe is the same as the one you pay for at Carlotto), the Madai snapper from Japan, which we got as sashimi (a 2 lb fish was $88), and the seafood rigatoni. My husband loved the key lime pie. The wild mushroom soup and the octopus with fava beans were fine but nothing special and tasted pretty average. It was our anniversary so they were kind enough to put a candle in the dessert we ordered and bring our separate candies on another dessert plate that said happy anniversary. It was a nice touch. Service was also good and attentive. They even called my cell after we left to let us know we left the leftover food we had packed. It may have just been what we ordered so will come back to give it another shot. Definitely want to try the black cod as that has had great reviews. read more
