We called ahead to make sure we would be able to use a gift card for the noho location at this location and the hostess confirmed with the manager on the phone that it would be fine. Following our actual dinner, it was a whole different story. We were told there was a miscommunication and they wouldn't honor the gift card. This is unacceptable and very unfortunate. Did take out from this place tonight as we are staying in this area at friend's home. The fish was certainly fresh very tasty. I specifically loved the yellowtail and shrimp. I wouldn't recommend coming here. TLDR: The service is pretty terrible, the food is average at best (only the desserts were good), the steak is not cooked to the temperature ordered, and it is overpriced. On food, the only items i enjoyed were the spicy crab crispy rice and the desserts, especially the green tea Mille cake (and maybe the scallops appetizer). Everything else was average at best. For example, the Chilean sea bass was drenched in butter. A colleague ordered the wagyu skirt steak medium and it came out medium rare to rare (see photos). On service, I never saw our waitress. It took forever to get seated despite having a reservation (at first they wouldn't seat us until our full party was there), took forever to get menus, took forever for someone to then take our order, and the food took insanely long (the waitress did come by to apologize at one point and sent some free chips with crab dip while we waited for our food). I was also in a hurry to get somewhere after dinner so asked the waitress to bring the check with the desserts but she failed to do that as well. After having an inattentive waitress all night, we then got a check where 20% gratuity was automatically added bc we had a group of 6. I wouldn't have had as much a problem with that if they had told us in advance like when we made the reservation or when we entered the restaurant (and you know, if we saw our waitress more than once or twice the entire 3+ hour time we were there for our dinner since the food took so long). My friends and I made a reservation for a holiday dinner on a Monday night. After making the unusually long trek to the 5th floor (I recommend the elevators over the escalators), we all arrived and were seated right away in the main dining room. They have an array of drinks, but I decided to order a Manhattan off menu which was pretty good. Foodwise they have a large menu which our waitress suggested we share. Nothing exceptional but it all tasted pretty good. Ambiance is fun. You have a nice view of the river and the vessel if you are in the dining room. It's a pretty busy place, but not overly loud. It's definitely a place for larger group dinners. Service was good too. They checked in on us and the food came out pretty well paced. My one qualm would be they came over and started to grab plates from us while we were still eating a few times. They even grabbed things that had food still on them without asking. Overall, BondST is a fun place to stop into if you'd like a group dinner and to share some Japanese fare. It's extremely pricey for what you get, so be prepared to spend a little more! read more

I had an utterly unsatisfied experience at this restaurant. At around 5:30pm, me and my 2 friends saw on google maps that the restaurant has immediate availability and has lots of availabilities for the rest of the day. Therefore, we tried to do walk-in at the restaurant. The restaurant had plenty of open tables, but the receptionist was rude and refused our entry saying "we are fully booked tonight". I showed him the availabilities on Google Map, he insists that they're fully booked and could not let us in. Around 5:50pm I booked a table for 6pm in front of him and he still refused our entry, saying that "then you can come around 6 pm". Ridiculous place, I've seen plenty of more popular restaurants with more grace and respect for guests. read more

New to Hudson Yards is Bond Street offering sushi in an upscale environment in the 5th floor with commanding views of the vessel in the former Wildink space. Sushi is very good with a broad menu. Not sure about the slush puppy ice in their interpretation of the old fashioned. Good evening out though try and avoid the tables in front of the window - it feels a little like airline seating - pulling one table would make all the difference to the experience when say their. Location is in a mall so you miss the intimacy of the smaller place on Bond Street but for fresh sashimi and sushi...this place shines. There are other dishes to try as well but the Jalapeño scallop wrap with the Yuzu Kosho sauce (sublime) and the Japanese snapper sushi (amazing) was superb. Friday 6pm Huge fan of the original location and was excited about this location in Hudson yards and is much closer to my house . I decided to dine in the bar vs main dining room without realizing that i wouldn't be able to fully avail of the view . The bar is gorgeous, cozy and has a sexy vibe . I don't like that it's when you want in to the left hence eliminates the privacy factor but maybe they can put up a nice division. My cousin was late ( by almost an hour ) as she went to the wrong location but was glad that I got to keep the table longer than time allocated especially in the city . The crowd was mostly shoppers , I wonder if it's different during non holiday season. Still a very nice well decorated space , true to the bondst name . We shared a the tartar with caviar , salmon sashimi , edamame, crab and another roll . All delicious paired with the cucumber martini . Definitely wanted to order more but couldn't justify the price tag. We spent about $400 for two with 3 drinks each . I would want you to go back and dine in the dining room . Word of advise to the host, I've asked if they had availability in the main room and despite having loads via resy earlier in the day , the restaurant didn't have any . We can to Bond ST for a business lunch and I was really happy that we did! Service - our server, albeit a little unconventional, was really effective. I LOVE that he asked us if there was a certain time that we needed to wrap up (we did) and he really effectively helped us keep to that time. The main dishes - the seabass which was a special tasted even better than the Black Cod from Nobu- no joke sooo fresh and delicious. Service and decor fantastic, Mae our waitress was very knowledgeable in all drinks, aps and such. Aps: spicy shrimp, Octopus, Wagu hot rock and salad (very large) were out of this world. Ive been here like 20 times since it opened and i love it. Its better than nobu for me the service is always on point. Frinks and food are amazing. And the views of the vessel from the dining room are gorgeous any time of day. My favorite things to order are spicy tuna roll, crab avocado roll, cripsy cauliflower, agedashi tofu, seaweed salad, and the apple tart are chefs kiss. We have been to this hudson yards a few times now.... 1 thing is consistent it takes FOREVER TO GET YOUR FOOD!!! We even mentioned this to the server that every time we come the food takes forever. 2 hours later on entrees arrived. Place was half empty. It happens every time. The food was ok at best. Terrible service. They barely speak English and apparently lack sufficient grey matter or synaptic connections to take an order with any customization, however slight. They're also quite presumptuous assuming you want a cocktail that you never requested and furthermore which you specifically stated you didn't want, when asked. The food was good, but nothing to write home about and is way overpriced, presumably so as to pay for the view. Service is attentive but a bit slow. Water defaulted to $12 bottle water though I intended to have tap water, would expect a bit clarity from servers but not too bit a deal.
