Galibi Bibimbap, Boneless Short Rib (Beef)
Ellie G.

Found my new favorite Korean grab and go spot in Irvine. I ordered the short rib rice bowl and the spam kimbap and both completely exceeded expectations. The short rib was tender with that perfect sweet savory marinade and the veggies were so fresh it felt like a healthier version of comfort food. The egg on top was cooked perfectly with that glossy yolk moment. The spam kimbap was packed tightly with crisp veggies and had really balanced flavors, not overly salty or heavy. Inside, it feels like a mini Korean market with shelves of freshly made banchan, soups, soy sauce eggs, and sides that look like something straight out of a home kitchen. I love that you can grab a full meal or just pick up a few side dishes. I also noticed people building their own ramen bowls with toppings which looked so fun and definitely something I want to try next time. The location is super convenient in the Albertsons plaza right off the 405 and there is plenty of parking. Lots of outdoor seating, clean space, and friendly staff. Everything felt quick, efficient, and thoughtfully put together. Definitely an Irvine gem and I would absolutely come back to explore more of the menu.

Hubby and I needed to grab a quick bite while running errands around the area and we found Dosirak Express. This checked all the boxes - fast, comforting food, and not out of the way. THE MOOD: Disorak Express is located in the Quail Hill Shopping Center so there is plenty of parking. Just keep in mind that this place is exactly what the name of the place says - EXPRESS! So, there is not a lot of seating indoors, but if you want to relax and hang out to eat, there is plenty of seating outside. There's also banchan and drinks that you can grab and go. Overall, the place feels clean and open. THE 'TUDE: The service was really nice and they got us in and out - no complaints! THE FOOD: We got several items - the bibimbap, japchae, corn croquettes, and the veggie roll. My favorites were the veggie roll and japchae (I'm a sucker for noodles!). Also wanted to mention that the beef in the bibimbap was nice and flavorful. OVERALL: If we are looking for a quick lunch spot to grab and go or if we are craving some quick K food, we will definitely be back.

Dosirak with salmon - salmon size is small!

I ordered from Dosirak Express through Door Dash so I'm not quite sure the ambience of the restaurant. We ordered a spicy pork bibimbap and a salmon dosirak. The bibimbap, I think, would be better without the gochujang since the spicy pork is already marinated. The gochujang sauce is pretty sweet! The pork was pretty good! We ordered the dish with no rice, thinking they would add more vegetables to make it one full portion but that was sadly not the case so we ended up adding our own vegetables and a bit of rice to make it more filling. The salmon dosirak could've been better if the salmon wasn't from frozen. It was quite fishy and dry. The size of the salmon was small as well. The sides were bland as well as the dumplings that came with it. I previously have had the beef bibimbap before this and I thought that was really good with the gochujang sauce so I do recommend that! Also have had the spam kimbap as well and I thought it was pretty bland. The seaweed and rice didn't taste seasoned.

Great place for a quick bite! This place is meant to be a take out place so not that many seating indoors. You can choose between their bowl or dosirak. Their bowl comes with rice, choice of protein, veggies and salad. The dosirak comes with rice, choice of protein, and korean sides like japchae and fried mandu. They also have a good selection of kimbap you can choose from, and cold banchan sides and soups you can buy to take home. If ramen is your vibe, there's a self service ramen station too! Overall food had great flavor. I got the galbi bowl today and it was nice and tender! Great place for a quick bite!

I love going here for their kimbap! They're so tasty and convenient to bring on the go. I brought mine to the park across the street.

Lots of dishes ready to go

Very quick, friendly service in a spacious, clean space. There are a few seating options inside, but the food is really meant for takeout. Ample patio seating shared with several fast food options including bbq chicken, Johnny's Pizza, and Natraj's Tandoori Indian Food. I got the bulgogi kimbap. It was just 1 long roll for $8.95. Kinda pricey for such a small portion, but it was just right for me. Flavorful, fresh snack. I'd love to come again and try out some of their other options. It is located in the Quail Hill Plaza (3 doors down from Albertsons).

This place is fresh and fast. The spicy chicken was delicious and one of the best I've had. Price is very reasonable. They also sell packaged side dishes and kimchi. The inside is pretty bare which is why I took off a star. Not many seats inside but you can go outside and sit. Overall, a great place for quick and delicious meal.

For a quick, healthy Korean meal, check out Dosirak Express. They have several bowls/dosiraks with beef, chicken, pork, salmon and tofu. Their spicy pork and spicy chicken are on the milder side - definitely not as spicy as typical Korean food. Proteins are cooked to order. Bowls come with rice and salad. I like to get the kimbap, which is ready to go - available with bulgogi, pork, tuna and Spam. They also have a selection of pickled veggies, stews and soups in their refrigerator case. Some indoor seating and plenty of outdoor patio seating. Lots of parking in the lot.

I can see this as a treasure for local working professional professionals as you have these amazing Korean bento boxes that are ready to go, and it is as the title tells you an express location. However, there is nothing express about the time and care they put into each food box. I would say that the price is reasonable for the location and the amount of food that you get. Take a look at my pictures you can see that there is so much care in the yummy Korean food and I would definitely come visit again if I am in the area, but my kids loved it and there was enough seating outside next to the fountain. The vibe inside is Korean convenient store, but what you will find is lots of good Korean options both in drinks, snacks, and bowls. Next time, I will definitely try the Kim bap but we were all craving for rice and meat.

Long time customer review! Love this location for all the various types of kimbap they have! My kids love the original, tuna and the vegetable kimbap. All three are non-spicy and full of veggies as well! Inside there are also Korean side dishes & soups that are readily available for purchase. I tend to always buy the Korean squash soup just for the convenience of not having to prepare it myself ^^ they also have drink options so I will pickup the Pororo drinks for my kids once in awhile as a treat. Always a hit! There is a second location inside the Rancho San Joaquin golf shop but I tend to come to the Quail Hill location because there is more food besides the kimbaps. Cashiers are always nice and quick so it's an easy in and out. Always clean and cool inside. Next time can't wait to try some of the meals they prepare for take-out!

Organic tofu dosirak

Dosirak is definitely my family's go-to take out spot! Not pricey for the quality of the food you receive. Big fan of the tofu dosirak. Really tasty and fresh. Staff are really nice and quick! My husband likes the #2 galbi dosirak. You can easily eat outside in the plaza seating.

Both yummy plates

My daughter and husband both ordered the short ribs , and I got the beef bulgogi--so delicious . The cashier was incredibly helpful when I told her it was my first time, she absolutely nailed it. The place was quiet and clean, exactly how you want to enjoy a meal . Highly recommend this spot--10/10!

Short rib galbi bento (top) - so flavorful, highly recommend! Bulgogi bento (bottom) - bulgogi was a bit dry/tough
Michelle S.

Food quality is always SOLID here and I absolutely love their Galbi Bento box. Their Kimchi Pancakes are good too, but sometimes they sell out early in the day. Have been here over 5+ times and I love going here whenever I need a quick to-go option! A bit pricey, but you're paying for the quality. Staff is typically nice as well.

You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. It actually gave me a bit of that Seoul nostalgia, which is hard to replicate. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

The restaurant wasn't that busy when I went. Super clean, the server was so sweet, and the food came out so fast. The banchan was on the sweeter side. I really enjoyed their kimchi and bean sprouts. My naengmyun came out shortly after the banchan, and I was so surprised by how big the portion was! It had a good amount of meat and cucumber too. It was so much that I was able to take home half. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes out!

Best decision of my late night misadventures in a long time! It was very filling (you could probably order one item and split it or have plenty of food for leftovers the next day), it's not inexpensive but it's great value (but then again $20 for a meal out is kind of going rate standard so maybe it is inexpensive or comparable to most anything else you could choose?), and it's great quality. The soup is a combo meal that comes with rice, glass noodles, fish cakes in sauce, and kimchi. You can also modify the spice level to make it more mild or spicy depending on your preference. I don't know why I am so obsessed with the soup but I'm going to think about it for a while because I was 100% lost in the sauce while eating it - after you get halfway you can put the rice, part of the kimchi, and (maybe) the fish cakes in the soup so it gets closer to porridge and break up some of the blood sausage to mix it throughout. Service is friendly and can recommend different things to eat. I got my order as takeout but the dining atmosphere is really good for how close each table is to one another. Everyone still has enough space to be on their own but because you're closer together it kind of feels communal.

They have a good amount of seating. Restroom was very clean. Service was good, I had no issues. Please be patient with the staff as English is not some of their dominant languages. Staff was trying their best to help everyone. They were constantly checking in on us, refilling our Banchan, I thought they did great. Food was yummy and portions were huge! My friend and I shared the crispy garlic tofu. That was fresh and hot and not greasy! I enjoyed it! She had the Garlic Seolleongtang and she loved it. You saw the chunks of garlic, they were generous on the meat and the bowl was huge. I had beef spicy tofu soup and that was delicious and so filling. They were extremely generous on the tofu and I felt like I definitely got my protein intake in. The spice was just right, it looks so red but it wasn't that bad! I would definitely come back. It's a mom and pop shop I would support. I think it's underlooked and needs appreciation. My husband is from Irvine so we'll definitely be back next time we're in town visiting family.
