Spicy cold noodles (bibim guksu)
Levis K.

The food here is worth it! I've come here several times on my lunch break during work and have always been pleased with what I get. I've had the kimchi fried rice (kimchi bokkeumbap) and the spicy cold noodle (bibim guksu) and they're both easily highly rated. Both dishes have the perfect blend of flavors and you get exactly what you'd expect for each dish. They have their signature flavors and hint of spicy that you'd want out of these plates. I would easily come back and get them again! Service here is pretty good. They're good at answering questions or concerns you may have, like about what's in the plates or how spicy they are. The food also comes out pretty quickly too. The ambiance is here is loud! It's inside the hmart food court which has many restaurants so expect it to be high volume (traffic and audible levels). Since it's in a big plaza, parking is easy to find. Overall I'd say this is definitely worth a try and I will be back for more!

Bibim guksu with pork mandu

Love that they have the option of adding Mandu to the bibim guksu. Absolutely love this combination of cold spicy noodle with the crunchy Mandu. I love that they also sell ready to eat Mandu inside Hmart grocery.

Rice cake and dumpling (mandu) soup

Mandu is good. I tried the fried kimchi ones and the rice cake and mandu soup. The mandu was the star of the show. In the soup, the mandus were plump. The fried kimchi ones were kinda flatter and not as filled. The kimchi ones were a bit too oily for me. The soup is hot, and they give you a small white plastic spoon to eat it with; I would have preferred a metal spoon. The pork mandus weren't as oily, surprisingly. Next time, I'll get the steamed pork mandus and try their rose tteokbokki. Service was very nice. If you have cravings for homemade mandu, this place will definitely fulfill that craving.

Shockingly delicious food court food. I love that it's conveniently located in a food court and HMart. The tteokbokki was chewy and filling and you can add 3 dumplings for $3.

Spicy Cold Noodle Soup

I knew that HMart had a food court, but this one is kind of hidden off to the side so I don't normally notice it when I shop here. The other night, I got the chance to explore all of the food courts, and ended up deciding on CHD Dumplings because they offered cold spicy noodles and sampler dumplings. The cold spicy noodles soup had lots of veggies on it, and was super refreshing. I wouldn't say that it was super spicy, but a mild spice. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the chewiness of the noodles. It felt way chewier than any cold noodles I've had, but maybe that's just a preference. The soup itself was delicious. I also liked the idea of the sampler dumplings. What a great way to get to try multiple dumplings without having to order them individually. The sampler dumplings looked like it came with kimchi fried rice, pork, shrimp, and jalapeno. My favorite was the jalapeno, but it definitely was a bit on the spicy side. There's plenty of seating in this food court, so you'll definitely find a seat. Order is done at the counter, and they call out your number on a microphone when it's ready. When you're done, you return your tray to where you picked it up. Note: there are no water dispensers, so you'll either have to buy a drink, or drink from the fountain by the restroom.

Special Set Menu

This is hands down my favorite spot in the H Mart food court. I'm always so busy eating that I've never even taken a picture of the food here! I think the Westpark location might be the only one with a set menu--such an amazing deal for such mouthwatering food. The mandu are absolute perfection, whether steamed or pan-fried. What makes them so good is the balance--the skin has just the right thickness and texture, and the fillings highlight the best flavors of each ingredient. The smoky flavor of the meat mandu is my boys' favorite, while I love the kimchi filling. The steamed buns, Rosé tteokbokki, and fried tofu (yubu) rice are also must-tries. They even sell frozen mandu so you can enjoy them at home. Honestly, if you haven't had mandu here, you haven't really had Korean mandu.

Sampler pan-fried dumplings

This establishment offers both steamed and pan-fried dumplings, along with quite a selection of other menu items. We got the 10-piece (pan-fried) sampler dumplings with 2 pieces each of shrimp, beef, pork, jalapeño, and one other variety. The young guy at the FOH was super friendly and helpful, he let us know that fried means pan-fried rather than deep-fried (which is way healthier). The ambiance at the H-Mart Eatery food court where CHD is located is very spacious, cool, and a comfortable place to eat with lots of tables and chairs. We did takeout and ate at home but we liked eating on-site before too. The sauce that comes with the dumplings is also super tasty and refreshing.

Tteokbokki and 모둠 지짐만두 / Mandu Sampler

I love CHD. First tried it in Seoul and was excited to find out they have some in Cali. Unfortunately, it's not the same here. The Tteokbokki was super watery and the Mandu sampler was super oily. There also wasn't as much filling in the dumplings :(

Mandu sampler

I had been waiting for CHD to open at my local HMart and was happy to see that they finally opened! I was eager to try their dumplings and got the mandu sampler - 10 pan fried dumplings (pork, kimchi, smoky sweet pork, shrimp and jalapeño) - and kimchi fried rice. The mandu were delicious, though a little greasy. My favorites were the shrimp and pork. I am not usually into kimchi fried rice, but this one was delicious, filled with lots of kimchi. I could not stop eating it! They also have steamed mandu, tteokbokki, yubu, cold noodles and steamed buns. Can't wait to try more!

Kimchi dumplings

So good! I was a little skeptical when my family made lunch plans at the H Mart food court, but I was pleasantly surprised! The food court was pretty spacious, filled with various vendors. The service at CHD was super fast and friendly. We got our order within 5 minutes. I was told CHD has some of the best dumplings--they were right! We got the kimchi dumplings and they were phenomenal. The combination of the crunchy outside with the chewy and juicy inside was heavenly! Definitely was a good reminder to not judge a book by its cover

steamed pork mandu and mandu sampler
Khanh D.

So glad there's a more accessible CHD location than the one in LA. We got the steamed pork mandu and the mandu sampler (the smokey sweet pork was my favorite). Next time I come back, I want to try the rose tteokbokki and yubus, they sound good. The food was good but it didn't blow my mind, but I blame my cousin for hyping it up too much for me. That's the only reason I give it a 4/5. Service was quick and easy. I like the location too because there's other restaurants in the hmart food court to order from.

고기 찐만두 / Steamed Pork 23. 김치 볶음밥 / Kimchi Fried Rice

These dumplings are incredibly delicious and full of flavor. I would definitely recommend them to anyone shopping at the H Mart market!

You can tell this place has a strong base of regulars too, I saw a mix of friend groups and families casually walking in like it's their go-to spot. We ordered the cold noodles combo with jokbal (pork hock) for $30.95. Portion wise, it's SOLID for two people. The cold noodles were refreshing and really hit the spot, especially if you like that clean, slightly tangy flavor. The jokbal was very decent. Not bad, but if you've had it in Korea, you'll notice it doesn't quite hit the same level still totally "usable," just not standout. Value, this is where they win. We got full off just one combo, which is rare these days. Plus, all the usual Korean side dishes are complimentary, and they also served a warm bone broth at no extra cost. I've honestly never had that offered like this before, and it made the whole meal feel extra comforting and homey. Small detail, but I also appreciated that the table was already fully set up with bowls, utensils, and water which makes everything efficient. Overall, really solid experience. It actually gave me a bit of that Seoul nostalgia, which is hard to replicate. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

The restaurant wasn't that busy when I went. Super clean, the server was so sweet, and the food came out so fast. The banchan was on the sweeter side. I really enjoyed their kimchi and bean sprouts. My naengmyun came out shortly after the banchan, and I was so surprised by how big the portion was! It had a good amount of meat and cucumber too. It was so much that I was able to take home half. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes out!

Best decision of my late night misadventures in a long time! It was very filling (you could probably order one item and split it or have plenty of food for leftovers the next day), it's not inexpensive but it's great value (but then again $20 for a meal out is kind of going rate standard so maybe it is inexpensive or comparable to most anything else you could choose?), and it's great quality. The soup is a combo meal that comes with rice, glass noodles, fish cakes in sauce, and kimchi. You can also modify the spice level to make it more mild or spicy depending on your preference. I don't know why I am so obsessed with the soup but I'm going to think about it for a while because I was 100% lost in the sauce while eating it - after you get halfway you can put the rice, part of the kimchi, and (maybe) the fish cakes in the soup so it gets closer to porridge and break up some of the blood sausage to mix it throughout. Service is friendly and can recommend different things to eat. I got my order as takeout but the dining atmosphere is really good for how close each table is to one another. Everyone still has enough space to be on their own but because you're closer together it kind of feels communal.

I ordered the galbi tang and steamed dumplings, and my meal was delicious. The beef ribs were very tender, and they did not skimp out on the meat portions which can sometimes be an issue at other restaurants. I usually order a side of extra glass noodles, but I'm glad I didn't here because the noodle portion was also generous. The dumplings were juicy, and the dipping sauce complimented them perfectly. My favorite galbi tang spots are in Buena Park, but Tang 190 will definitely scratch the itch when I can't wait since I'm local to Irvine.

However, a few years ago, the restaurant changed ownership, and things have gone downhill since then. Prices have increased, the taste is different, and most importantly, the service is no longer good. Because of that, we stopped going there for at least two years. The other day, I took my father there again just to see if anything had improved, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. The service was still really bad. We ordered one of the specials from the menu, and nobody informed us that ordering the special meant it would not include the usual side dishes. This was very poor communication on their part. They should clearly mention that in the menu before customers order. Instead, after we ordered, they told us that the side dishes were not included. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, especially compared to how good this place used to be.
