Friends just bought a new wrought iron and wood front door. When you do, you also need a new door jam for the door. Without the new hardware they spent $5,000. The hardware will add another $500-600. We wanted a new front door badly since ours was so ugly, but no way we were going to spend that much.
We met Brad from Door Conversions at a street faire and he explained that his company actually refurbishes your existing door. Which means...you aren't buying a whole new door, you're not buying a whole new door jam and you can keep your hardware if you want.
They cut out the center of your wood (or fake wood fiberglass) door and insert the style of wrought iron you choose from their patterns, the glass pattern/texture that you pick out (and there are tons to choose from), you even get a screen to it so you can open it to make it a gorgeous screen door when you want fresh air! (New door options we have seen didn't even have an option for a screen panel in it.)
Our door came to $3,100. OMG WOW what a difference it's made to our ugly boring front entry way both inside and outside (as you can see in our pictures).
Brad is professional, shows up on time if not early, and was really nice to work with.
Can't recommend this company, person and process/cost enough! read more
