This is the second time we have used Barn Door Dudes. We have been impressed with them both times. Needed a door replaced in our pantry that needed to be vented due to having water heater in there. The door looks absolutely beautiful - received great design ideas from them and we are really pleased with the result.
Since moving to San Diego we've been hard at work updating our new (to us) condo. Basically removed everything and started over. This process has been mostly challenging. However from all of the trades we worked with, Barn Door Dudes was the very best. Courteous, friendly, and on time, their team was amazing from start to finish. We couldn't be happier with how the doors turned out, like the cherry on top kind of good. Even down to matching our paint colors, everything was so perfect! I'm gushing with positivity and so super highly over the top recommend them! Huge props to Melissa, she helped us navigate the many amazing options with a smile with a certain relaxed comfort that only comes from old friends. Also, props to Scott and his helper, so courteous and respectful. These are the kinds of folks you want over for Sunday dinner. Installation was perfection. Okay, I'm gushing more. I just can't tell you how great this experience was. Well I did, but I'm really driving it home.
It's been almost 2 years since we had our barn door installed, and we are so so happy with it! The team did an amazing job building the custom door for us, and even painted it the exact paint color to match the rest of the trim in our home. We got the soft close feature, and after two years it is still working perfectly. They did an amazing job installing the door and lining it perfectly with the opening. It looks so good and seamless in our home. It's been super functional and we are SO happy we found barn door dudes. Excellent service.
A great experience from start to finish. Melissa was patient, efficient, and professional by answering all our questions and giving us various design options with reasonable price quotes. Then Scott and Andre came to install the barn door on time and with precision. They also vacuumed the area afterwards. The barn door now looks great in the room.
Barn doors are an affordable luxury to customize your home, and Barn Door Dudes is the company you're looking that can make your vision a reality. We needed a barn door to separate the space between our primary bedroom and bathroom. It's an irregularly sized door opening so we went to Barn Door Dudes for a custom door. I was able to mix and match features from different doors to create the perfect door for our needs, down to the paint color. I wasnt limited to a limited menu of preselected colors, they accepted the brand/color I wanted to use. Communication was great during the construction of the door, and install was professional and courteous. Now I'm looking for more areas in my home that might be suitable for a barn door because I love this one so much. Thank you, Barn Door Dudes! PS- our dog Shiro approves
Please consider a different company if you're looking to do a barn door. My wife and I were excited about getting one installed and waited patiently for one to be made custom for us. Unfortunately, it arrived in very poor condition and when after being installed, Barn Door Dudes did very little for us. They gaslighted us and made us feel as though we were being picky. See attached photos. I say go with a different company.
Where do I begin with my praise for Barn Door Dudes... From my first inquiry, Chantal was responsive to my questions. Melissa was so patient and helpful as we went back-and-forth with what wood and then which stain was just right for our project. We drove down for an in-person visit to see the quality first hand before we bought and were super impressed. Ryan even gave us a quick tour of his workshop so we could see the progress of some doors he was building. Some background: We needed a large oversize custom door to cover the opening between our master bedroom and master bathroom. I had always dreamed of having a barn door in our dream house. I didn't want it to be rustic though, and I wanted the wood to complement our floors and keep the "spa-like" look in the bathroom. We ended up with a white oak door in the ponto style on both the front and back with the simply white stain (no clear coat). It is absolutely perfect! I could not be more thrilled with how our door project turned out. From the soft-close stops so the door doesn't bang, to the elegant rail, to the exquisite craftsmanship of the door itself - they knocked it out of the park with exactly what I had envisioned. Barn Door Dudes is artisanal quality, professional and reasonable. Not to mention just lovely people. I love supporting local businesses and they have earned a loyal customer. We can't wait to work with Ryan to design a custom desk next...
Fantastic from start to finish. The meeting to go over the project was great, and they had wonderful options for doors and hardware. During that meeting I decided I wanted to go for a second area in the house as well because the doors are just stunning. They are now installed and absolutely beautiful. The stains are beautiful, the vinegar shows all of the beauty of the wood while giving a subtle look. The two guys who came out for install were friendly and helpful, and made sure everything looked perfect. I would absolutely go back for any other barn door needs.
We had an excellent experience with The Barn Door Dudes. From the first call with Melissa to the final installation. We asked them to install a custom grass cloth inside the door frame to match an inset in the same bedroom. See photos below. Scott came by to confirm the measurements and installation plan. Communication was great throughout. Scott and his assistant did an outstanding job installing the door. They set up lasers for alignment and the door fits perfectly from top to bottom. These dudes know their stuff! So does Melissa. Great crew, great attitude. Highly recommended.
Let me first explain something... I'm a perfectionist who often feels let down by contractors or businesses not simply doing what they advertise and charge for. Barn Door Dudes are one of those rare expectations where they are absolute quality, end-to-end! Whether it be Ryan the owner, Mellisa the Project Manager, or Scott our installer, they were all an absolute pleasure to work with and stuck the landing. Our doors are simply incredible and we are extremely happy and appreciative of everyone's hard work and attention to detail. You can save yourself the hassle and look no further.
Ok so the day finally came that we are getting our barn doors installed! So yesterday when Randy and Jude came to our door, they were the most polite and sweet and nicest installers I have ever met! They were both so young at first I thought how could they possible know how to install all these doors! (We have 3 rooms that got doors) But don't let their looks fool ya. They are very good at what they do. And within the first hour they had all the frames up and within less then another hour they had them all hung! They look beautiful!! I was so impress with both of them. They are above and beyond professional and have been doing this for quite some time. Everything was perfectly level and the doors are so quiet when you open and close them. I totally recommend this company! From the owners down to the installers they are super professional and so qualified. Love all my doors. Thank you Barn Door Dudes, YOUR THE BEST! I am one satisfied customer.
We spend some time looking for a high quality interior quality barn door for our home, and mostly talked with folks who make these on the side. We wanted to use someone who made barn doors for a living not as a side thing. After spotting Barn Door Dudes here on Yelp, we drove to their shop on a Saturday morning. We met with the owners, saw their large shop, and were able to pick out the wood and hardware on the spot. It took 6 weeks or so because of their backlog, but today they installed our door and we couldn't be happier! It looks fantastic, the workmanship is excellent and the hardware is very high quality. The two guys that installed the door were very professional, had excellent tools (including s tripod mounted laser level), and cleaned up perfectly afterwards. They told us that they install 5 doors per day on average: no wonder they are so proficient! One hour and they were done, WOW! If you want a great barn door for your home, go see these "Dudes". I'd use them again in a heartbeat.
We ordered a door a few months ago. It was installed last week. One word AMAZING! From the ordering to installation everything was great. The door is a piece of art. Definitely recommend and will use them again. The pictures don't do justice.

It was time to freshen up our closet look. We chose Barn Door Dudes because of the wonderful Yelp reviews. Scott and Josh took specific measurements and did a flawless professional installation. Really a great experience from start to finish and we love the end result! We needed custom pocket doors and had very specific specs to meet for the pocket door kits. Would definitely work with them again, can't recommend enough! read more

I've been looking around for a barn door with a mirror on one side and a nice finish on the opposite side, every other company I called was cheaper but the door was junk, you get what you pay for and this was well worth it. From the beginning when I made that first call everyone at that office was friendly and very helpful. They gave me an estimate over the phone and all I had to do is take some pictures of the opening and a couple of measurements, due to I live in Riverside and the company is in Carlsbad. Melissa Was great she answered all my questions very prompt. Scott installed my barn door And he did an excellent job very respectful of the house and very clean. I highly recommend this company. read more

I had a custom barn door made for a Murphy bed that was placed in an existing closet space in my home office. I wasn't even sure how to begin this project but I knew I wanted a barn door. I made an appt and met with Ryan and he walked me through the whole process and showed me different designs. I didn't have enough space for a sliding barn door so he said they can make me a bi-fold barn door. I never heard of a bi-fold barn door. He showed me a sample and I decided that it is exactly what I wanted. My barn door is so amazing!!!!! It's perfect in every way! It makes me so happy every time I walk by it! Thank you to Ryan and his team for making this beautiful door for me. read more

My wife and I were struggling to figure out how to put up barn doors in a closet opening that had no header and a dead wall. After months of staring at our wardrobe and no real solutions, we reached out to The Barn Door Dudes figuring they'd have a solution. After a brief discussion over the phone my wife and I visited the shop for a consultation. Ryan and his wife couldn't have been nicer people. They showed us several options and worked out a solution rather quickly. Ryan was professional and understanding of our style and budget. After leaving the shop with one barn door ordered, we ended up adding a second barn door for a second closet. Randy was our technician/installer and was incredibly easy to work with. He was on time, professional, and courteous. Randy was very knowledgeable and worked efficiently to produce top quality results! We highly recommend The Barn Door Dudes! We experienced top level professionalism from start to finish! We've already thought about using them for our next custom project! read more

From initial consultation to install, the team at Barn Door Dudes was very professional and did an excellent job with our custom barn door. Off of our living room is a 'reading nook' space that we wanted to close off so that it could be used as a nursery in the future. The oversized door they created fit perfectly and I was amazed that they were able to bring it through our front door as one single piece! I would happily recommend to anyone in the Greater San Diego/OC area looking for a barn door. read more

I requested an estimate via their website and got it the next business day. Ryan was so easy to work with from the get go. He talked me through the whole process and was even nice enough to send me a video of all the stain samples they had (because quarantine I wasn't comfortable enough to go into their showroom). Randy installed our door he was in and out in less than an hour! He was also very friendly and entertained my curious 4yo. The finished product is AMAZING! We are so in love with it. I can't wait to do business with them again! I've been on yelp for 10 years now and this is my second review, I just want y'all to know, this company is amazing and is worth the investment :) read more

When we bought our house last year, we decided to change the study room glass French door to a custom barn door, because my daughter has always wanted one. I was on a mission to find a business who sells and installs barn doors, and that's when I stumbled across the Barn Door Dudes located in Carlsbad. We are completely in love with our beautiful custom barn door which my daughter helped design. I have uploaded pictures below of our barn door, but I don't feel the photos even do justice - the door is incredibly grandiose and amazingly striking. The look on my daughter's face when she first saw the door after it was installed just brought me to tears knowing that I was able to give her something she's always dreamed of. The whole experience from start to finish was seamless, and I want to send a special thanks to Melissa for being so patient and understanding. I clearly see why they have only 5 star reviews from other customers. If anyone is in search of a barn door, look no further because these guys are truly the best! read more
