I am writing this to see if at all this catches the attention of the business owner. We came across this business through yelp. We were looking for a home extension by adding rooms , booked an appointment and a person named Ethan Dreiman visited us. The hour long appointment went well and he asked us to visit the business in Carlsbad, The following week we went there saw the office , went through a few things and further steps. The appointment went well( at least, according to us!). Ethan was supposed to visit us the following Thursday but we did not hear from him. Since it was Thanksgiving break we thought the office might be closed. The week after he told us he had a family emergency and will call us back, never heard back. We thought it might have been something serious and everybody has emergencies, so waited for someone from the team to step in. Nothing! . After some weeks , we called the office and informed the front desk person. She said she will get back. Two weeks later still NOTHING!! If they were not interested in doing business with us, we would have shook hands and left. But would appreciate them telling us so. If this is their integrity and ethics I am glad we found out now rather than much deeper into the project! read more

We did a whole house remodel with TNT: both upstairs bathrooms, new cabinets, kitchen, enlarged downstairs bathroom (moved shear wall), new doors, new baseboards, new door casings, new lighting in the bedrooms, new downstairs master with closet (including shelving), new wrought iron stair banisters, and new paint throughout the entire house. Greg and Austin were the project managers, and we highly recommend both of them. We interviewed the five highest rated Yelp north county contractors, and, from the first interview, we knew we wanted to go with TNT. From the start, Greg and Austin were excellent communicators, gave excellent recommendations, kept our project moving, remained gracious in the face of project setbacks, and interfaced well with the city of Carlsbad. Some differentiators of TNT from other companies are: - TNT has a design showroom with a designer included in their service. The designer along with Greg and Austin helped us select from an infinite number of choices in tile, fixtures, hardware, paint, etc. - TNT planned out our entire project. We never felt we were rushed into a decision due to a forgotten detail. - TNT held to their original quote, despite complications in moving the shear wall. Two iterations were required with the Carlsbad engineers. The new footing was much larger than anticipated. Downstairs flooring damage was much more than expected. - TNT made us whole when things were damaged. We were going to keep our refrigerator, but, when the door was dented, they replaced it with the same one. We actually still have the dented refrigerator in our garage now. - TNT didn't nickel and dime us on what other contractors might consider extras: installing dimmer switches to replace the original switches, finding a piece of the same quartz countertop without charge for our downstairs bathroom, finishing out an extra cabinet to a useable piece of furniture, etc. - TNT truly wanted us to be satisfied. A big motivation for our remodel was leaks experienced in the upstairs plumbing. They were tenacious in finding all the leaks. Whenever we asked them to check somewhere else, they followed through and opened up walls and ceilings. They replaced a post on the new stair banister that we felt was unsatisfactory. - TNT gets permits for everything. No cutting corners in dealing with the city of Carlsbad (which can save time but can bite you if the house is later sold or there is an insurance issue). We highly recommend TNT, and especially, Greg and Austin as project managers. read more

We contracted TNT Design and Build to remodel our kitchen and downstairs. Greg and Austin were our project managers. In retrospect, I think the remodel turned out significantly better than expected. Building and contracting is foreign to me, but Greg and Austin candidly helped me understand the pearls and pitfalls of the remodel process and they did so with grace and professionalism. Additionally, Greg and Austin walked me through the design process in a manner which was adherent to both building code, and highlighting the improvements we wanted. Moreover, Greg and Austin made sure to give many helpful suggestions of design along the way, concepts we would never have considered. Our downstairs remodel is much better because of their suggestions for design and for specific building materials. While TNT does sell many of the building materials necessary for the rebuild, you don't have to use their products. Yet I admit it was advantageous to see their products in their showroom and to understand the quality of the materials I was getting. Most of the materials we used were bought through their company, but they stand by their products and I'm happy with the quality. It was easier to help purchase the materials with TNT because I didn't have to source them or store them myself. This was majorly convenient, and I'm grateful TNT operates this way. They have a warehouse they can hold our materials until it's time to install. I didn't have to turn my garage into their storage space. Once our design was completed, the kitchen and floors were quite different than what we initially desired, but this is a great aspect of partnering with a design and build firm. The aesthetic aspect of the build didn't compromise the function, and for that I'm grateful. My only regret is that they did such a superlative job, I'll have to hire them back to remodel the upstairs and exterior in the years to come. Lastly, their crew that entered our home was always courteous and hardworking. I never had concerns about them working in my home. Normally I have anxiety about strangers working inside my home, but because TNT builds this all in house with their team, it felt like a family owned company. The price. Of the 4 quotes we got, TNT was maybe 3% higher than the others. The 3% extra I may have paid for the remodel was worth every penny. I will use them again and I'll recommend them to my friends and colleagues. read more
