We worked with Mor and TNT on a full home remodel in Carlsbad, and are happy with the end result. Our home is absolutely beautiful, and we receive compliments on it all the time. Mor did a great job helping us select materials in the showroom that translated beautifully into the finished space. Her eye for design--especially in the kitchen--helped us make the most of our layout, and she brought in thoughtful, practical suggestions that worked really well for a busy family. Mor is also a mom, and her real-life experience informed some excellent recommendations (such as flooring because we have a pool and a baby) that improved both the design and the functionality of our home. She was also flexible with her schedule, occasionally making herself available on weekends or outside of regular business hours, which we appreciated because we were coordinating the remodel from out of town. However, there were also times when Mor asked for quick (and important) decisions from us on short notice during the middle of the work week when we did not necessarily have the bandwidth to address the situation. With improved planning, these situations could have likely been avoided. One thing to note for future clients is that TNT does not prepare "mood boards" or provide what might be considered traditional design services like creating full design concepts. Clients will need to come to the table with a clear vision or inspiration, such as ideas from Pinterest or other design sources, to guide the process. Be prepared to reconsider design ideas after visiting the showroom. There were a few areas where the experience could have been smoother. Organization around materials and timelines could use some improvement. We recommend having a complete, room-by-room materials list created and finalized before construction starts to avoid delays or design challenges mid-project. In our case, we had to work directly with some product reps (for example, Pfister and Bedrosians) to get information, which added time and coordination on our end. There were also a few surprises, such as discovering post-order that our cabinet maker couldn't do panel-ready appliance fronts--something we wish had been clarified earlier in the process. Communication throughout the project could have been more consistent and clear. We understand these projects are demanding and everyone is juggling a lot, but improved delivery would have helped reduce stress during a complex renovation. It is helpful to understand what "builders' grade" means per the contract because certain items like, in our case, Sherwin Williams Emerald paint, or dimmer switches, were not considered "builders' grade." There were also some miscommunications within the team, such as the installation of handles on our closet doors without our prior approval, and a lack of understanding on TNT's part on how that occurred. Also, we specifically inquired about what the recessed lights would look like ahead of time, but instead of showing us, TNT installed their "builders' grade" choice without our prior approval. This communication lapse likely comes from TNT selecting "builders' grade" materials without specifically identifying those materials to the client beforehand. We did find it helpful to get second quotes on some sub-contracted work to ensure market pricing. We hired our own subs for re-piping and installing our new staircase. With TNT as the contractor, the pace of work was impressively fast, and the project was completed on time. When issues have come up since completion, the TNT team has been very responsive in coming back to address them, which we really appreciate. We ran into some complications with TNT's initial electrician, whose work had to be corrected by another professional after move-in, which caused a bit of disruption and expense on our end, as we were settling in and working from home. All in all, despite a few bumps along the way, the final product is something we are happy with. Mor brought creativity, commitment, and personal insight to the project, and we're grateful for her contributions. With a few process adjustments, we believe the experience could be even better for future clients. Another point worth noting is that we've already hired TNT for a future project. They will be assisting us in creating the necessary space for bi-fold/sliding doors. This continued partnership speaks to the fact that, despite the challenges we encountered during our whole home remodel, TNT largely resolved those issues. We're confident in their commitment to quality and look forward to working with Mor and her team on future projects. read more

We did a whole house remodel with TNT: both upstairs bathrooms, new cabinets, kitchen, enlarged downstairs bathroom (moved shear wall), new doors, new baseboards, new door casings, new lighting in the bedrooms, new downstairs master with closet (including shelving), new wrought iron stair banisters, and new paint throughout the entire house. Greg and Austin were the project managers, and we highly recommend both of them. We interviewed the five highest rated Yelp north county contractors, and, from the first interview, we knew we wanted to go with TNT. From the start, Greg and Austin were excellent communicators, gave excellent recommendations, kept our project moving, remained gracious in the face of project setbacks, and interfaced well with the city of Carlsbad. Some differentiators of TNT from other companies are: - TNT has a design showroom with a designer included in their service. The designer along with Greg and Austin helped us select from an infinite number of choices in tile, fixtures, hardware, paint, etc. - TNT planned out our entire project. We never felt we were rushed into a decision due to a forgotten detail. - TNT held to their original quote, despite complications in moving the shear wall. Two iterations were required with the Carlsbad engineers. The new footing was much larger than anticipated. Downstairs flooring damage was much more than expected. - TNT made us whole when things were damaged. We were going to keep our refrigerator, but, when the door was dented, they replaced it with the same one. We actually still have the dented refrigerator in our garage now. - TNT didn't nickel and dime us on what other contractors might consider extras: installing dimmer switches to replace the original switches, finding a piece of the same quartz countertop without charge for our downstairs bathroom, finishing out an extra cabinet to a useable piece of furniture, etc. - TNT truly wanted us to be satisfied. A big motivation for our remodel was leaks experienced in the upstairs plumbing. They were tenacious in finding all the leaks. Whenever we asked them to check somewhere else, they followed through and opened up walls and ceilings. They replaced a post on the new stair banister that we felt was unsatisfactory. - TNT gets permits for everything. No cutting corners in dealing with the city of Carlsbad (which can save time but can bite you if the house is later sold or there is an insurance issue). We highly recommend TNT, and especially, Greg and Austin as project managers. read more

We purchased a new apartment in our building after falling in love with the view but quickly realized we needed to renovate an older model kitchen which was walled off from our living room, and re-do our master bathroom. We had a general concept of what we wanted so we began speaking to several contractors. Immediately, from our first meeting, we knew TNT was the design and renovation firm for us. When you are doing something as intimate and as important as designing and renovating your home, relationship and communication is of the upmost importance. TNT treats you like family. They completely understood what our vision for our home was and began working on a plan for us. Tamari could not have been more helpful in discussing our vision with us and guiding us through the entire process from our first consultation to the end result. Joe and Mor on their design team were vital to us in helping choose color schemes and materials that perfectly fit into the vision we had for our new home. Tamari took care of ALL of the back-end paperwork, we never had to deal with certifications or building permits. They stayed on track and took care of every single little detail concerning construction. The fact that they have a showroom made the process even easier for us, and was very helpful in influencing some of our design ideas. After discussing plans and choosing materials we were presented with an in-depth walk through of what our future home would look like. We were blown away by the professionalism and detail that went into our presentation. Construction started immediately and was done well within schedule. We could not have been happier with the result. TNT was able to work around structural building infrastructure to give us the open kitchen and living room we always wanted. They designed, created, and installed a custom entertainment system for us based on our needs and wants and integrated fully automated entertainment, lights, and shades into one handy unit for us. We now have a home both perfect for entertaining and socializing. Our master bathroom is truly elegant and modern, it feels spa like. We also had TNT re-do our floors which came out amazing, surpassing even what we could have imagined. Everything from painting, to lighting, tiling, plumbing, cabinetry; was done perfectly. We were so impressed with the work they did, and the relationship we forged with them that we have hired them to do renovations at another home of ours. read more

We had a great experience working with TNT Design & Build on a major remodel of our home in Carlsbad and would highly recommend them. Our project originally started as a much larger plan for an addition to add a new bedroom, master bath, and closet, along with redoing the exterior of the house. As we worked through the costs, we realized the addition was not the right fit for us. Our Project Manager, Greg Milev, was fantastic through that transition, patient, professional, and focused on helping us land on the right plan for our needs rather than pushing us in one direction. That built a lot of trust early on. We ultimately moved forward with a full exterior reskin, window replacement (including adding two brand new windows), new exterior lighting and electrical work, a complete remodel of our second bathroom, and replacement of our original furnace along with adding AC to the home for the first time. Greg was great from start to finish, helping dial in details, coordinating permits, and keeping everything moving. Communication was consistent, and he made sure we were aligned every step of the way. The quality of work was excellent. The bathroom tile work in particular really stood out. We did a full herringbone wall with some tight spacing and a window, and the end result came out incredibly well. Gio, who led the work on-site, was also outstanding. He clearly takes pride in what he does and consistently focuses on doing things the right way, not the easy way. That attention to detail really showed in the final product. Like any project of this size, there were a few bumps along the way, but the TNT team was always responsive and quick to address them. That level of accountability gave us a lot of confidence. They also did a great job minimizing disruption, which was important since we work from home. The project moved efficiently overall, and the final results exceeded our expectations. We wouldn't hesitate to work with TNT again! And just to note, the landscaping and patio pavers were my own DIY project, so any opinions on that part are on me, not them...haha. read more

I came to TNT Design & Build when I found out our master bathroom was leaking water into our walls. TNT Design came in relatively quickly, looked at the space we had to work with, listened to what we wanted and set forth to put together a quote. Their quote came in very reasonable compared to the competitors out there and they were also very flexible on pricing and payment options. Once I have them my greenlight they stayed in constant communication with me and started as soon as they could get into my house. Tamari was my initial point of contact and the owner. Mor was our project manager. Both parties did their best to meet all of our needs and concerns when issues came up. I never came upon any hesitation whatsoever and the transparency was top notch; I never felt like I didn't know what was going on. The overall project took about 1.5 months to complete and there were a few issues they ran into along the way, but as I mentioned, they handled them very promptly and worked with me in every way possible to ensure I was happy. Mor even came in and cleaned the place up one last time before leaving the project site himself. It really speaks volumes when a company is transparent, communicative and highly attentive to their customers. I never felt uneasy about any of the work done and I always felt like I could trust them (not to mention these guys were in my house for the project duration without me there and I never experienced trust issues). I highly recommend this company - not only for the quality of work, but their work ethic and customer service - give them a shout! read more

Choosing TNT Design to handle the completion of our house was definitely a good decision. Mor took over after the 50+ y/o house was brought down to studs. Since we lived 2 1/2 hrs away, she saved us countless trips and $$$ in hotel stays. She handled permit paperwork, filed them at City Hall, met with the inspectors and met them again (and again and again) to make sure we passed inspection. She fought inspection issues for us, obtained drawings needed to satisfy inspection requirements, haggled costs down on other issues, ordered multiple items, arranged for delivery and installation of different house components, sent pics of work in progress or pics we requested for clarification of installation. She shared items available for purchase from their design showroom but also worked with items we wanted to purchase ourselves. She was available in person, by phone, text and email. Sure, our budget grew but we made the decision and she was able to deliver start to finish. Working with her was like the Sweet and Sour patch candies...there were sour moments followed by sweet and back to square one but this was a BIG whole house project, studs to finished product. And there is bound to be give and take to find reasonable and acceptable common ground. Clarifications had to be made but communication was key. Big kudos to her crew for the work they accomplished as they had to wait on questions to be answered and decisions that had to be made. Mor and her crew are a definite asset to the business. read more

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with TNT and our project manager, Mor, on my mother's master bathroom remodel! We were originally referred to TNT by our neighbor, Susanne, who had her kitchen remodeled by TNT several years ago and was extremely happy with both the company and Mor. After our experience, we can completely understand why she recommended them! From the very beginning, Mor was amazing. She took the time to understand my disabled mother's specific needs and helped us design a bathroom that was not only beautiful, but also functional, safe, and accessible for her. She took care of all the details and made the entire process so much easier for us. Everything went as planned -- and honestly, even better than planned! The workers arrived early, worked incredibly hard, and took great pride in their work. A huge shout-out to Steve for the beautiful cabinetry, Julio for the amazing tile work, Mayo for the electric plumbing and all the other details. You are amazing. Every person who worked on the project did an amazing job. It was such a relief to have Mor coordinate everything and make sure all the pieces came together. The finished bathroom turned out absolutely beautiful, and they even completed the project earlier than expected. Wahoo! Thank you, TNT, and especially Mor, for making this such a positive and stress-free experience. We are so happy with the results and so grateful to everyone who helped create such a wonderful bathroom for my mom. We highly recommend TNT! read more

Review for TNT: Mor We took a leap of faith by choosing a company we knew nothing about, except it was located near our newly purchased home in Carlsbad. We liked the name of the company "Design & Build." It was just the services we were looking for. After the first interview, we knew this was the right company to work for us! The office was modern & staff was friendly & very professional. After meeting the "primary's" we understood why this clean & efficient environment was the way it was. It all began at the top. The person we dealt with directly was Mor. Mor took care of everything & was excellent at she does. She has knowledge of every aspect of a remodel/build. She knows the construction! She knows the language, the materials, the costs. She was able to advise us on potential problems & what to avoid. She was able to foresee & cut off possible down falls. When it came down to picking out materials ie. quartz for counters, wood for flooring, tile, plumbing for bath & kitchen fixtures etc. She was able to provide us with excellent resources for everything we needed. They even had their own showroom full of samples. Because of the excellent prices, we did some shopping in their office/showroom. All in all the experience was a good one. We will continue to work with them again on our future remodel ideas. We highly recommend TNT for all your remodeling needs! Ask for Mor! read more

Working with Tamari and the crew at TNT Design and build has been a fantastic experience from the very start of our kitchen remodel project. Tamari was very accommodating to our schedule which made the initial project planning much easier as both me and my wife were able to participate in the meetings. Tamari immediately understood what we were trying to achieve during our remodel and not only embraced it but also gave us some very good advice on how to take it to the next level. Once happy with the final design he gave us a very reasonable proposal with a timeline to completion of 5 weeks that he promised to keep and he stick to his promised which made us very happy. The quality of the work was top notch and if any small issue was identified he immediately got it fixed with no delays or extra costs. His crew was also very hard working and were always on schedule and when we had a delay due to an unexpected issue with one of our walls they put some extra hours over the weekend to bring the project back on schedule. During the construction Tamari came around the house multiple times to check on the progress and quality of the work but also to get our initial impression and feedback and he was always very responsive to any suggestion we may have. After the promised 5 weeks we now have a fantastic kitchen that we love and has become the envy of our neighbors :-) read more

We sought to remodel our bathroom that was 25 years old and in bad condition. After meeting and interviewing 4 other contractors we decided to book TNT Design & Build because of Joe's on point consultation. He was clear and straight forward with us and that builds trust. Another plus was the showroom this company has which were not offered by all companies. Everyone from TNT Design & Build was very professional and experienced in their various domains. The demolition took about 3 days; thereafter, the TNT team kept us informed about project schedule, availability of materials, potential delays, items needing additional work, and city inspections. We appreciated the quality of the construction, attention to detail, excellence of the workmanship, and the recommendations we've been given. They brought to our attention the poor condition of the pipes from 1938 that really needed replacement. TNT Design & Build completed this part of the project, as well, providing us with new piping throughout the house. TNT Design has given us a dream bathroom, which undoubtedly has increased our house value. Deserving of special mention are project manager, Joe and the owner Tamari who kept us all informed and coordinated. We would definitely recommend them to anyone with a remodeling project. read more

I cannot tell you how happy and satisfied I am with my new bathroom / shower after the remodeling done by TNT Design . Firstly, the remodeling was done during the Covid-19 time. So, we were all very anxious about how the project will roll. But credit goes to the team of TNT and of course to Tamari the owner. When I first met Tamari, I found him to be a very genuine and practical kind of a person. He had a bag full of ideas for my bathroom. And I must say that all the ideas were brilliant. I knew at once that I wanted to work with him. Tamari presented me a really nice design for the bathroom and after my finalization, the construction work started. We were all very scared but the kind precautions taken at the job were really satisfactory. The workers used to wear masks during the work, distancing was there and all other things were present at the job site. All the guys working at the site were very professional and always on time at work. They were all very friendly too. I think no one can really go wrong working with TNT Design & Build. The bathroom looks fantastic now and feels a lot more spacious. I recommend this company to everyone. You will not regret your decision. read more

I have worked with TNT Design & Build on over 15 remodels and flips of my personal properties, and I can confidently say that they are the best in the business. From start to finish, every project has been handled with professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail. Tamari, the owner, is truly outstanding. His leadership, vision, and commitment to excellence ensure that every project is completed on time and with impeccable quality. He takes the time to understand my goals and always goes above and beyond to bring them to life. His team of workers is just as impressive--skilled, hardworking, and dedicated to delivering top-notch craftsmanship. What sets TNT Design & Build apart is their reliability and consistency. No matter the size or complexity of the project, they have always delivered results that exceed my expectations. Their work is not only high-quality but also beautifully designed and built to last. If you're looking for a trustworthy, efficient, and talented team for your next remodel or construction project, I highly recommend TNT Design & Build. We hired Ethan from TNT Design and Build to replace the flooring throughout our entire townhome, renovate two bathrooms and a laundry room space, and touch-up the unit throughout. We couldn't be happier with the results! From start to finish, our project was handled with professionalism, timeliness, and careful consideration to our requests. The quality of workmanship is excellent--every detail in both bathrooms reflects care and expertise. What stood out most was the use of high-quality materials without an inflated price tag. It's rare to find a home renovation contractor who balances craftsmanship and cost so well, and we truly felt we were getting exceptional value. Communication was clear, scheduling was reliable, and the team removed all building materials at the end of the project. Our home feels like an entirely new space thanks to the skill and attention of Ethan and his team. I highly recommend TNT Design and Build to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality renovation work at a reasonable price. We put our trust in Ethan, and we were not disappointed. We look forward to working with him and TNT Design again on future projects! read more

Greg recently completed a full-home remodel for me, and the experience was exceptional from both a technical and project management standpoint. The quality of the work is evident in every room -- finishes are precise, materials are thoughtfully integrated, and the overall execution reflects a high level of craftsmanship. Equally impressive was the efficiency of the timeline. Greg coordinated the project in a way that minimized delays without sacrificing quality, a balance that is difficult to achieve in large-scale renovations. His ability to anticipate challenges and keep the work progressing smoothly demonstrated both experience and strong organizational discipline. What truly set Greg apart, however, was his insight and design intuition. He proposed several ideas that improved functionality, flow, and aesthetic cohesion throughout the home -- enhancements I would not have considered on my own but now can't imagine living without. In short, Greg delivers high-quality work, completes projects with notable efficiency, and brings thoughtful, value-adding ideas to the table. I would confidently recommend him for any whole-home renovation. read more
