Greg & his team did an amazing job on our stair railing! Out of the few contractors I've reached out to Greg was the most responsive and helpful when walking us through flooring requirements. All I had to do was send him an inspiration photo and he was able to recreate it in my house. The attention to detail truly shows in their craft! read more

Gregg and Gilbert were fantastic to work with. I almost wish I had more stairs for them to remodel. Our staircase was a unique project because they added a sloped stem wall where there had originally been an open staircase. The finished result looks like it was built that way from the beginning. The craftsmanship is absolutely flawless, and the attention to detail exceeded our expectations. They were professional, incredibly clean, always arrived on time, and stayed on schedule throughout the project. Communication was excellent, and they took the time to make sure every detail was exactly what we wanted. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend StairCrafter to anyone looking for high-quality custom stair work. read more

Based on our experience, this is the ONLY place to go for a new railing. First of all, Greg was actually the only one to promptly respond to my Yelp inquiry. He came and patiently explained our options. His and his team's professionalism, precision and artfulness were exceptional. They cleaned up without a trace. The finished product is exquisite. We only regret we don't have another staircase for him to enhance! read more

We were extremely happy with Gregg and his whole team. I'm usually too busy to write positive reviews, but this is definitely an exception. Gregg and his team clearly take great pride in what they do and although it was a little bit hard to get the initial quote, once the job was started, they were extremely reliabl, on time, professional and frankly, artists at what they do. It was nice to have a contractor who takes pride in their work and doesn't try to upsell you or lie to you to make a buck. Thanks Gregg and team. read more

Gregg worked on my staircase recently removing the old and installing new spindles (balusters). We couldn't be happier with the work he did, the care he took in completeing the job and the cleanliness left at the end. Would highly recommend Gregg. read more

The stair railing turned out great. They did exactly what we wanted. We are very happy with the finished product.!

Stay away. Nothing but a headache at a large cost. They don't treat their employees well either. One of the owners had a disagreement over the phone with them at my home. Very unprofessional. read more

I am genuinely at a loss of words to describe the incredible work done by Gregg and his team at our home in Olivenhain. He transformed our old staircase into something stunningly beautiful. From his craftsmanship in designing wainscotting for our staircase wall that perfectly matched the wainscotting already existing in our home, to his skilled work refinishing our banisters and replacing the rods, all were impeccable. Our house has been upgraded tremendously by Gregg's work. He also worked tirelessly to get the work done on a schedule that fit in our with our family (we have young kids, so did not want to be without staircase rails while we were home - so he fit all the work in while we were out of town), left the house in great condition, and did it all with our dogs there annoying the heck out of the workers. I could not recommend Gregg more (and both my husband and I are incredibly picky people who have very high standards). Gregg, thank you so much!! read more

Needed a project completed and they finished quickly and exceeded expectations at a great value. Highly recommend their service.

We are very happy with the results! Our stair railings were done nearly a year ago. We requested Gregg back out a couple days later after the project was finished for a minor color touch up on an area. He was quick to respond and even though I'm sure he thinks I'm picky he did it with no problem. I feel it was the right call and I know he does too. We have received many compliments and will enjoy our new stair railings for years to come. He loves to work nearby and he knows his craft. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Gregg and Gilbert! read more

Gregg is not only an amazing craftsman, but also an amazing human being! We hired Staircrafter to do the railings of our new remodel. He was very responsive on Yelp, gave me a straightforward quote, and had me send an email with details like what I wanted my staircase to look like and my address so we could schedule for him to come make the design. Upon arriving, Gregg was able to point out installation mistakes and concerns from our flooring contractor. He created a list of issues that needed to be addressed and asked to be part of a group chat with the flooring company to ensure we weren't being taken advantage of. I would recommend Gregg and his team in a heartbeat to anyone looking for custom railings! He makes your dreams come true - literally. As far as I am concerned, Gregg and Staircrafter should be the go-to railing business in San Diego. If they service your area, look no further and you won't be disappointed! I am obsessed with our new staircase and it is truly the centerpiece of our house. read more

Gregg patiently worked with me over the span of 8 months as I figured out what I wanted. The finished stair railing came out exactly as I had asked for, didn't take long to construct, was installed super fast (a couple hours) once on site, and all at a reasonable price. He painted over and cleaned up my old railing leftovers, and cleaned up his own debris. Would totally recommend! read more

Greg Kuzara is the worst contractor I worked with on my home rebuild. Our project ended on a very bad note after he laughed out loud at my questions and I insisted that he speak to me professionally. From the reviews below it seems like he consistently makes people feel like their are being "picky" - when in reality he is defensive about being questioned about his work/design. If you are a detail-oriented person and concerned about how your home should look, keep searching for a better contractor to work with. Additional details: on our first meeting Gregg didn't show up because he "forgot" about our meeting. When we rescheduled he didn't bring any samples and told me I was being too "theoretical" about the design (because there were no physical samples to discuss...). And don't tell him if you are an engineer or else Gregg will threaten to up charge you 20% for "asking too many questions." read more

I've been talking to Gregg since November 2017, just trying to figure out what it was that we needed as far as our stairs went. I was glad we waited for our stairs to be re-done with the risers and wood steps before we had Gregg and his team do their magic. Our spindles were too far apart and out of code, so Gregg got it up to code with the designs I picked out for the wrought iron. We decided to keep our ballusters white for a sharp, tuxedo look. We just had Gregg finished our stairs in two days and our neighbors immediately asked us for Gregg's number - everyone was impressed with the work and it transformed our house overnight. My house looks done now with that last, finishing touch on our stairs. read more

Gregg and Gilbert were real pros. They have been working closely together for the past 7 years and it shows with everything they do. Gregg created the design for our replacement staircase after we chose a something we liked from their photo gallery of completed work. He was very communicative during this process with prompt followup. They arrived on time as scheduled. They were very conscientious about walling off the area with plastic to minimize dust and dirt throughout the house. They effectively demoed the old and installed a great modern staircase in our home. Gregg was a perfectionist about matching the stain color with our existing cabinets. When they completed the redo, they thorough cleaned up the area. We are very please with the end result and highly recommend their work. read more

Gregg and his team are one of the most professional companies we've ever worked with! I only wish we had found them sooner and saved ourselves more than a year of headache and worry. When we purchased our home, the distance between the stair rails was too wide, making it dangerous for our toddler. He could easily fall through from the top of the stairs. We hired another company that came recommended by friends. We didn't need a complicated stair rail and our main objective was for it to be safe and simple. They started the job but made multiple errors along the way, were never able to fix the errors, were messy, unprofessional and rude when errors were pointed out and worst of all , they left us WITHOUT A RAIL, for months at a time making it incredibly unsafe for us, our toddler and guests. They were unresponsive until I threatened to report them to BBB. We finally gave up on them and we found Gregg. What a difference! They were kind, clean, efficient, professional, so pleasant and incredibly skilled in their work! They were also honest about the pricing and lowered the final fee when they finished the job without needing to do a previously anticipated piece of the stairs. And they did this without us telling them. The night the job was done, when my son held the rail and went up the stairs by himself, after more than a year of us holding his hand or carrying him up the stairs or warning him to be careful , I had tears in my eyes! Truly a job well done. read more

We contacted Gregg at Staircrafter because we fell in love with the picture of his etched iron scrolls on his webpage. Gregg came out to our home to discuss the plans and we immediately knew he was the man for our stair remodel. Gregg is professional, courteous, conscientious, and above all, an artist. He completed our job with a fair price and ahead of schedule. He always kept us in the loop as to when he'd arrive at our house in the morning and always left our place cleaned up and livable for the rest of the day. Gregg performed every part of our job - no subcontractors and no middle men. He is meticulous and does not leave out even the smallest detail.
