Charley was our project manager; he kept the project moving forward and was extremely responsive to texts and calls. They helped us change the cabinet layout a bit and it ends up being more functional while also having much more usable space. The flooring and baseboards turned out terrific, it really changes the look and feel of the space. We had picked out something that was not one of their usual suppliers, but that was no problem. They really work with you to get exactly what you want. All the workers were friendly, skilled and left our house clean at the end of the day. My thanks to everyone that worked on our project. I bought a home in the middle of the pandemic. It's in good condition fundamentally and in a nice location, but was in desperate need of a remodel. The home was built in 1969 and has had some upgrades since (maybe 1980?), but essentially needed an entire makeover. I reached out to half a dozen contractors, and surprisingly they were all pretty much in the same ballpark as far as cost. What made me choose Mastercraft was Janelle, I felt like she really got what I was trying to do with this place and my budget. We ended up spending the day together with my designer picking out materials and it was very fun and productive, I think you can see from the photos that we made some good choices :) I was really impressed with how the kitchen redesign went. I knew the wall needed to come down, but it wasn't clear to me what we were going to do with the space. Chris came over and within an hour had a 3D rendering of the island, counters, fridge and cabinet design that you can see in these pictures. Once work got started it was intense, since I actually lived here during the remodel (crazy, right?), but Joe and Gus always made sure that things were on track and that I was happy with the way the remodel was going. Being that I was here every day I was able to interact with Gus on a regular basis since he was the project manager and he was always extremely friendly, respectful, and accommodating. Thanks Gus! :) I think the pictures speak for themselves. This is my first home and I have absolutely no experience with doing something like this before, and Mastercraft made it possible. We had been wanting to replace our old carpeting with luxury vinyl plank flooring for awhile. Then we needed a new dishwasher and discovered it had been slowly leaking, causing major damage to our kitchen sub floor! And there was mold! Ugh. We called MasterCraft because they had done such a nice job leveling our mobile home. Their contractor Mo the Mold Guy, came in the first day and worked like a one man army! He had an assistant, but he was the expert. He took out all the rotted subfloor and lower cabinets, but no more than was necessary, dried, sprayed and mitigated the mold until we could start fresh. Another gentleman came in and laid down a thick, real wood subfloor, in one long day. He too, was a very hard worker with a great attitude. Then we could finally do the flooring. Robert and his other two crew members arrived exactly when they said they would. They did an excellent job; the floor is beautiful, all throughout the house now! They were pleasant to work with and very clean and considerate with a great attitude. We purchased the flooring from MasterCraft. They gave us a good deal and it seems to be great quality. The process was very smooth and professional, first James came out and walked through to get an idea of what could work, we also met with Joe who measured everything up and worked us out a starting estimate of costs. Of course a full estimate needs to know materials so we went to their showroom and picked out our flooring, tiles and backsplash with James. Then Covid hit us. We put off the job again and again hoping it would be over soon. Obviously that didn't work out. Periodically James would check in on us. At no point were we pressured or did they request any payments of any kind, purely just touching base. We finally went ahead and... Wow. We are so happy we went with Mastercraft. Outstanding service for our major kitchen remodel! Definitely highly recommend them to my friends and neighbors. Our project had a slow starting with regards to planning. We wanted to remove part of a wall so it got complicated. Once we had our plan finalized, ordering materials and demo started very quickly. In fact our entire project took 7 weeks only from the first day of demo to the last day of work (not a simple project - we removed part of a wall, moved windows, and had to relocate electrical, plumbing, and HVAC!). The crews were worked with arrived early everyday and worked hard most of the day. Some days there were 6-7 workers here! Very professional and kind workers! We had Mastercraft install some extra storage space including a large pantry and another one under the stairs in the house we had just bought. They came out quickly with proposal and started the work right away. They were able to finish in a very short time. Bryon was very responsive and kept us abreast all along the way. Eli, their Master Carpenter, is very skilled and very easy to work with. Even after the jobs were done, they were available to help with some minor issues we had with the house. The one thing I liked is that it is basically a "one stop shop". We used their plumbers to install a Moen monitor required by our insurance. He gave us wise advice on a problem with the previous paint job and although he could have just painted over it, he spent the time explaining to us how to fix the problem for the long term while keeping our unique preferences in mind (a non-toxic home). He completed the painting in one single day and it looks stunning. Even with our "gluten free paint". Plumber: He generously came to our home on a Saturday to hook up our sink so that we would be able to do dishes and have drinking water. He also arrived in a days notice when we had a leak unrelated to the job. He solved the mystery and fixed the problem. Rocco: This man is a master mudder. He took his time and turned our filleted walls into a solid, even, beautiful structure with integrity and perfect textural design. It was profound to see the transformation. Our backsplash tiles were ribbon mesh type that each tile consists of at least 15 small and large pieces that need to be cut carefully and laid out properly. Johnny the tile guy did a great job, was very patient, skilled, took his time measuring and was very accurate laying out the tiles. The final backsplash product was amazing. Thank you Johnny for a job well done. Overall the final completed kitchen and laundry room were much better than what we expected. Thanks to all involved including project manager Gabe and general manager Bryan. The not so goods are: Countertop fabricator and subcontractor to Mastercrafthi did an okay job. The owner dismissed our concerns and needs, the subcontractor team was understaffed, rushed the work and did bad job calking certain sections. I would not recommend them. Drywall work and final texturing is average at best. I would recommend that Mastercrafthi hires a better skilled person for drywall work in general. Communication between management and professionals doing the work could have been better. Some errors has occurred but corrected later, not a big deal but still I would recommend that Mastercrafthi implement better procedure for proper communication between management and professionals doing the actual work. So the 4.5-5*s is well deserved. I will definitely consider Mastercrafthi for future remodeling projects and I definitely recommend them. Job well done guys. Thanks a million. Antoine read more
