My husband and I have long dreamed of having a proper space for all the books and media collections we have been hauling from move to move, and Zach and Gina have been the perfect team for making that vision come true. It's been such a joy to get to know them and their incredible work, and to watch as their project transformed this house into our home. Thank you, SDCC, for the expert consultation, the rational price structure, and the quality of craftmanship you put in to our custom cabinets. And for being so dang nice to our fish!
I absolutely love my new custom built bench. Zach understood my vision and the results came out even better than I expected. Both Zach and Gina were so easy to work with, always quick to respond and provided updates along the process. I would definitely hire them again for future projects. I choose to paint the bench myself so the bench is not fully complete in the pictures.
I highly recommend SDCC- Zach and Gina are truly amazing. They were so fun to work with, extremely communicative, detail oriented in their work, and true craftsmen. They are also very fair and transparent with pricing. We couldn't be happier with our built in cabinets and plan to hire them again in the future!
Zach and Gina are amazing people! Zach is a true artist and came up with the perfect design to meet my odd request. His craftsmanship is beautiful and my new custom furniture is just stunning. They did everything they said they would do--on time and on budget. An additional bonus is that they are just fabulous people. I would give them 10 stars and I highly recommend them. You will be very happy with their quality of work.
Zach and Gina were both amazing and professional. I was actually sold on Zach after my initial call. He listened attentively to what I wanted and was looking for in my project. They both assisted me with the scope and design of my built in bookcase in my office , which I was looking for to display all my collectibles. They communicated extremely well throughout the whole process from the initial phone call to the design and then to the finished product. The quality of Zach's work is outstanding! I couldn't be more thrilled about the final result. Its one of the first things I show off to anyone who visits my home. I. would happily recommend Zach and Gina for any custom cabinetry project. You won't be disappointed.
We recently completed a custom designed manufactured home. With the limited wall space we knew we wanted to have our TV / Fireplace cabinet custom designed. Found SDCC on Yelp and contacted them for an estimate. Zach and Gina were very professional, knowledgeable and listened to our vision for our design needs for this very small space set in the corner of our living room. After many phone calls, visit's and revisits to confirm measurements the cabinet was installed this past weekend. We are happy we chose SDCC to build this beautiful corner unit which completed the custom look of our home! Thanks Zach and Gina for the finished product!!
San Diego Custom Carpentry is an outstanding company providing custom cabinetry design, fabrication and much more. The owners, Zachary and Gina Knox, are experts in their field, and their work certainly shows that. They built a bookcase/cabinet and fireplace mantel for our family room, both of which turned out beautifully. Zachary is an expert craftsman whose skills translate into high-end results. Both he and Gina are excellent communicators, share an amazing attention to detail and are very customer-oriented. They are also very personable and fun to work with. My husband and I couldn't be happier, and we highly recommend San Diego Custom Carpentry for interior finish carpentry projects.
We absolutely love our built-in living room cabinet. Zach and Gina came highly recommended by our friends and we totally agree with them, both Zach and Gina are a great team, very professional, easy to work with and so thorough. Their prices are competitive and they are so passionate about their work.I wasn't really sure if I am good at describing what I envisioned but what they produced was WOW! exactly what we needed. They gave us a time frame and delivered exactly as scheduled. We are more than happy to recommend them to all our friends and will definitely be contacting them for other projects. The picture does not do justice - not got proper lighting and not filled but you can see the details.
We highly recommend San Diego Custom Carpentry. When we first contacted them, Zach answered the phone and told me they specialize in media cabinets. I sent him a picture of the space in a text and got an immediate quote. From there Zach and Gina were very communicative with us throughout the scheduling, design, and installation process. Our cabinet was installed in one day, and we really appreciated how careful and clean they were working inside our home. We are thrilled with the finished product, and highly recommend them to anyone considering a custom build.
Zach and Gina are absolutely amazing. Highly recommend them! They are super professional and overall had great communication with them. We contacted them to build out a brand new pantry for us after the original one was removed due to a water leak. The finished product was absolutely incredible and came out even better than we expected. Zach was even able to use the original doors we had! We requested 4 drawer pull outs on each side which are absolute game changers if you have a deep pantry. The craftsmanship and the quality of work they produce is absolutely impeccable. If you need cabinetry work then look no further than Zach and Gina. Thank you so much, my wife and I are super thrilled with the finished product!
We hired Zach to help build a custom Murphy bookcase that leads into a small room. It wasn't an easy job given the dimensions of the space. He spent meticulous time going over all of our options and the design to ensure that it's safe and durable. Super impressed with his work. This is the second time we hire him and we'll keep returning with new projects.
Zack and Gina are amazing. After scouring various stores for office furniture and cabinetry for our new home office, it became apparent that a custom build would be more beneficial from a time and cost perspective. SDCC designed and installed door and drawer lowers and open shelving uppers along a wall, as well as a full custom desk and return top. From start to finish, Zack's attention to detail and Gina's attention to service and communication exceeded all expectations. They came in on time and on budget, with no surprises at all. They were both so nice and pleasant, I can't say enough about them. I recommend them 100% and will be using them again soon! Thanks Zach!!

We couldn't be happier with the work Zach did on our custom built-ins and mantel. From the beginning, he took the time to understand exactly what I envisioned and brought it to life beautifully. I wanted a traditional colonial-style mantel and shelving unit with classic details, and Zach executed it perfectly. His attention to detail was exceptional. Every molding, trim piece, and finish was carefully crafted, resulting in a timeless and high-quality look. Communication was excellent, the project stayed on schedule, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. If you appreciate quality craftsmanship and someone who truly cares about getting the details right, I highly recommend Zach and Gina. We are absolutely thrilled with the final result and would gladly work with him again. read more

Zach and Gina totally blew us away with these custom built planter boxes. I gave Zach a rough idea of what we were looking for and asked him to build 6 planter boxes that would make people jealous and WOW did he deliver!!! Zach and Gina went beyond what was asked of them and really poured so much love, attention to detail and quality into these planter boxes. They are amazing, unique and you won't find anything like them anywhere else. Not only that but even though they were crazy busy with other projects managed to get these done way ahead of schedule. I am so thankful for Zach and Gina and can't recommend them enough. Finding business men and women you trust is priceless and if you are looking for quality work, great pricing and a business that cares about it's reputation and going over and beyond for their clients, look no further than San Diego Custom Carpentry! read more

We are incredibly happy with the job that Zach and Gina did. We had a relatively small project, installing shelving for books and drawers in our downstairs office. After speaking with a few local businesses, we chose to go with Zach. His pricing was very competitive, but more importantly, it was clear that he incredibly knowledgeable and he went the extra mile to understand what we wanted. Through the "design" phase, he communicated frequently and helped guide us to settle on the best final design. Even though we had to wait for our project's turn to come up, Zach was in constant communication, and when installation day came around, it was completed in 1 day as promised. The final result was even better than we expected. The quality of material, fit and finish, and overall look was fantastic and we could not be happier. -Anthony & Rachael read more

Contacted Zachary and Gina based on Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. They were quick with responses, kept us updated during process and the end products are exceptional. The under stair cabinet and wine rack was a challenge that they did not shy away from and the built in wall unit looks like the house was built around it. Can confidently say we would use them again! read more

We found San Diego Custom Carpentry through online reviews and we couldn't have been happier with the end product and service. Zach and Gina walked us through the process answering all our questions and working with us to produce a custom wall unit that we only dreamed of. Installation was quick and they were careful and courteous in our home. The end product is better than we could have imagined. The quality of wood, paint and the exceptional carpentry created a beautiful, functional product that has added value to our home. We already have our next project lined up to work with Zach and Gina. We highly recommend them! read more

Zachary and Gina did a great job designing and building this counter area for an upstairs foyer. The project was a little unusual, because it required a tilt-out laundry chute to be designed around an existing floor opening with a pass-through down to the laundry room on the floor below. They did a great job. Totally happy with it. Would recommend Zachary and Gina to anyone. read more

Zach and Gina are truly the best. They are extremely responsive, detail-oriented, professional, friendly, wonderful people who truly take pride in their work. They made us a high-quality BEAUTIFUL, SOLID piece of furniture (picture attached) that we are going to treasure for a long time to come. In fact, the actual cabinet looked better than the design that we sent them as our inspiration. As others have said, the most important thing (and so rare to find these days) was the knowledge that we could trust Zach and Gina completely. I would definitely go back to them again for any custom furniture and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

I don't think I could love my new hall linen closet anymore than I do. We had our 70s impractical hall closet with tiny cubbies that wouldn't fit anything. I had this idea to rip out what we had and have shelves built above a large pull out for laundry. My engineer husband normally does these types of projects, but he's been too busy, so he miraculously gave me the green light to hire someone about 2.5 years ago. That carpenter was so terrible that he returned our deposit. Finally, a few months ago, I got several estimates and chose Zachary from SDCC. Well, I have to say that Zachary did an amazing job and exceeded our expectations!!! Our new closet is gorgeous and highly functional. My husband is quite picky, and he is extremely happy. Zachary was very professional and on time with our project. We will use him again in the future for other projects - without a doubt. Thank you! read more

Highly recommend Zach and his team at SDCC! They were a pleasure to work with and we love the finished product! We had a large blank wall in our living room and wanted a custom entertainment center and additional storage. Zach was quick to schedule an estimate & follow up with a quote. They started the project on time and even finished a few days *ahead of schedule*! They really went above & beyond- working long hours and all weekend to accommodate our request to finish before Thanksgiving!! They were professional, courteous & friendly. Always wore masks in the house, laid down paper on the floors and masked off the area they were working to keep the rest of the house as clean as possible while they worked. We are so happy with the finished product! It's exactly what we wanted and the quality of the work is top-notch! We would definitely use them again on future projects and have already recommended to friends and neighbors! read more

I loved working with, Zack and Gina! They took my vision and turned into reality. I live in a small place and needed to maximize storage, function, and style. I would never have been able to get an off-the - shelf solution. The space I had for this desk /bookcase/storage had odd angles. My picture does not give justice to this. The wood quality, quality of stain, fit, all speak to a fine craftsman. I enjoyed the whole experience. From design consultation, bidding, work completion... Each step was awesome. Thank you! I find myself now looking around for projects so I can work with them again. read more

Zachary is a true craftsman and a really nice guy! He built and installed a custom pantry for us. He also gave our very large hallway cabinet a "facelift" with brand new doors. He was booked out a couple weeks-months in advance at the time of hire, but he is definitely worth the wait. If you are looking for custom cabinetry, then Zachary is your guy! read more

I recently had San Diego Custom Carpentry in my home to hang a dozen garage cabinets. It wasn't a simple job because a third of the cabinets are double wall locker size and I wanted them flush to the ceiling. The job was completed impeccably and I am having the build two custom cabinets for beneath the lockers. I am also having them build a custom cabinet to house a kegerator and a complete home office build. I will post/link pictures as each job is completed. Since the original post Ive had Zachary out for crown molding, custom bar and another garage shelf. The crown moulding was a pretty straight forward job although we have ten foot ceilings and the results were impeccable. The best and garage cabinet were total custom designs and installations. There garage cabinet has a false back and hides all of the wiring that terminates to the house like TV cable, security cameras, internet and the like. There bar houses a two tap kegerator with a beer mug rinse and drain. A small sink, soft close drawers and a trash can pullout. The kegerator is taller than your typical countertop them when you add the beer mug rinse and drain pre-built cabinets are out of the question. That's actually a good thing because there quality of the cabinets far exceeds the pre-built built cabinets throughout the rest of the house. I am adding more pictures of the jobs over described and will include some shots of the crown molding when I find them (or retake). read more

We had the best experience with San Diego Custom Carpentry! From the initial consultation to the final product we could not be happier. There is a reason Zach and Gina get such amazing reviews. They took the time to look through all of my Pinterest inspiration designs and came up with something perfect for our home. We had built-in cabinets and shelves installed in our great room with dimmable lights. This was a large project and very time-consuming to build. Zach and Gina built everything in their shop before and installed everything in 2.5 days. They are so precise with their work and use quality products. You can clearly see how much pride they place on doing a perfect job. One thing that was especially important to us was communication. From phone calls to text messages to keep us updated on the progress of our job, we couldn't have asked for better communication and thoroughness. They are seriously the nicest people. I would recommend San Diego Custom Carpentry without any hesitation to anyone looking for professional carpentry services. I am already thinking of the next job we can hire them to do! read more

Zachary installed German-made semi-circular door pulls on high-gloss cabinet doors. The job was small and risky. One wrong move of the drill, and we would be buying new doors. He handled it carefully, thoughtfully, and with excellent attention to detail. He built the jig onsite, checked with me about final placement before drilling, and installed the pulls as specified the same day. He charged his quote. We are delighted with the work he did to finish the doors. Recommend! read more

Wow where do I start?!? We bought our bed from living spaces and for the first year everything was great. Then all of a sudden the slats that were holding our mattress up started to warp, bend, and move causing our masters to fall in the bed. Instead of getting a standard box spring we opted for additional storage under the bed and a box spring wasn't an option. What an awful idea! I tried fixing the broken slats myself, L brackets, additional slats, wood glue, readjusting, re-screwing...you name it I tried it and everything failed. Finally after waking up with our mattress falling in our bed I called San Diego custom Carpentry and Zachary came to my rescue. He realized how frustrating this was and that we were sleeping. He rearranged his day Called me back and he would fix our bed the same day. I couldn't believe it! He's such a guy! Showed up within a few hours and literately rebuilt the framing under our mattress. Within a few hours the bed was fixed and he promised me I could finally jump on my bed. So I did with my two puppies! Lol. And for the past week we've been sleeping so great. Thank you so much for an awesome fix and amazing service. read more
