The granite was also very dark and busy. Knew I wanted Quartz so no more sealing every couple of years. Went in with pictures and measurements to get a price to see if this was in my budget and then returned with a couple of my cabinet doors (per Steve's suggestion) and chose a Quartz that I couldn't be happier with. It was not an easy installation because of the layout and different counter heights and a bar top that wasn't built correctly in the first place. The crews were on time and very professional. That all sounds reasonable -- but here's what the reply leaves out. The seam we're concerned about has visible glue residue and looks just like the others did, which they had already cleaned up successfully during the same install. The only difference? By the time we brought this one up, we'd already paid in full. We weren't asking for perfection -- just for this last seam to be finished to the same standard. Instead, we were told "nothing can be done," and no one even offered to come take a look. Honestly, it turned what had been a great experience into a really frustrating one. Most of the work looks good, but the way things were handled after the fact left us feeling like we weren't valued once the payment cleared. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We hired this company because of their excellent reviews, competitive pricing, and ability to work within our timeline -- and overall, we're somewhat happy with how the countertops turned out. When we met Steven, we emphasized how important it was to us that the seams be as minimal as possible. When we reviewed the templates, we raised concerns about one seam being placed in a very prominent location. We were told it had to go there, but that every effort would be made to minimize its appearance. During installation, the team was friendly and professional. On the first day, they noticed that the quartz pieces had some bowing issues (apparently, this can happen if the slabs are stored outside, which these were). The owner called to explain that they needed to correct the bowing to ensure the seams would be less noticeable. This adjustment delayed their initial timeline of 7 days after templating. The team added braces to the countertops and returned a few days later. There were additional delays getting the waterfall edges and windowsill installed, but once everything was in place, we were generally satisfied with the overall look. However, about a week later, we noticed one seam that stood out from the others -- visibly rougher and less refined. We contacted the owner and were told this kind of thing happens, that nothing could be done, and that even worse seams are displayed in their showroom. That response left us disappointed. Given how good the other seams looked, we were surprised at the lack of effort or interest in finding a resolution. If you hire Rock-It, we recommend staying engaged through the final details of the install. Be sure you're 100% satisfied before signing off and paying in full. We hope the company will take this kind of feedback to heart and continue to prioritize finish quality and post-install support.

I cannot understate enough how much of a mistake it was to choose Mr Cabinet Care for our kitchen cabinets on an Encinitas project. We are extremely disappointed with our experience with Mr Cabinet Care. We arranged & purchased custom cabinet drawer fronts that were supposed to be high-quality, but they arrived with noticeable gaps. the gaps were problematic for two reasons: 1. for the drawers / doors that closed incorrectly and 2. for being prone to collecting food debris (and unable to clean or remove that debris). When I contacted the company about this clear defect (the food /gap error), they completely dismissed my concerns, blaming "care and maintenance" instead of acknowledging the poor workmanship. Even worse, they provided doctored photos in an attempt to shift the blame, falsely suggesting that residue such as gum or putty had been left on the drawers. Not only was this completely untrue--no such residue existed in any of the photos we originally provided, nor in any additional photos we took. Falsifying evidence to avoid responsibility is not just dishonest; it's unethical and gives us even greater concern over other claims they've made in workmanship or materials. The operations manager even said The material you selected, White Oak Select, is naturally prone to expansion and contraction due to environmental factors such as heat and humidity. Upon reviewing the photos taken by the technician, it appears that the issues you are experiencing are likely related to care and maintenance, rather than any manufacturing defect." These were installed weeks prior to our notice, not years later, and during a cool weather season. To claim extreme weather (like heat & humidity) in San diego is laughable and outrageous. Under California law, products like these are covered by warranties ensuring they are fit for their intended purpose. These drawer fronts clearly do not meet that standard, yet the company refused to honor its obligations. Instead of standing behind their product, they chose to manipulate the situation to avoid accountability. Beware if you work with them and have future warranty issues, youre going to likely run into similar defenses and accusations. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this company. If they are willing to misrepresent facts and dismiss valid concerns, I can only imagine how they handle other customer complaints. I regret my purchase and would never recommend them to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship or honest customer service. We will not be using them for any future HGTV projects nor recommending them to other clients or customers. Update: 3/2026- cabinetry paneling (eg, refrigerator) has now had its glue come undone leaving a larger gap on one panel vs other panels ... The Cambria has a hair line crack where the radius is. Cambria came out and filled it and both said that happens sometimes. We have also had a few other Cambria chips. Not sure who is responsible has Cambria quality changed or things happen.... We treat our counter with all the care Cambria says to do . Cambria does fix the chips etc so that is good but not expected IMO for such a recent install.
