First - I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of the way Pelican handled the scheduling of the install - or rather, bungled. The crew arrived at my home this morning just after 8:00 am with no warning at all. Surprise! It turns out their scheduler sent an email July 18 with notice of intent to install to a fancifully incorrect email address. And, when they received no response from me (and why would they?), no one at Pelican deemed it prudent to follow up with a phone call. Fire and forget? 2 stars. The process to set this up was painless. Their sales/frontman (Isael) paid 2 visits, took careful measurements, explained my options and was a total professional. Not the least bit pushy. 5 stars. OK - on to the install. In a word - slick. The 3-man crew was efficient and from what I can tell (pics attached) did a very nice job removing the old, and installing the new. Again, very professional and respectful of my home, its contents, and my time. No fuss, no muss. The whole process for 6 windows was over and done in 4 hours. Again, 5 stars. The end result - no more drafty louvered windows, replaced with energy efficient, double glazed, argon gas filled windows. I'm pleased with the result, and recommend Pelican as a first stop when shopping for replacement windows.

Please don't make our mistake. Ultimately, Jaki did not understand our vision and kept pushing her design preferences on us. We had to fully create our own PowerPoint deck with reference photos to get our ideas across room by room; source our own tile (when she claimed the design we wanted didn't exist in the tile we wanted); ordered the wrong quantity of products; among many other issues. Additionally when we chose not to use her preferred contractor, she became even more difficult to work with. She claimed she didn't know how to use IKEA's closet building tool to help us build our master closet, was always running late to our meetings; nor did she know how to use Gmail to schedule said meetings. Due to COVID and vendor supply issues our renovation took much longer than anyone expected. But the most egregious and unprofessional behavior was when she quit the job BEFORE any of the fixtures she ordered were even installed. She literally took our money and ran. We were still in the middle of our renovation and had been project managing the majority of the work ourselves. To reiterate-- we paid Jaki in full for her services but she would not even honor returns or exchanges for products that we DID NOT install (because they didn't end up working in our space and were misrepresented in the renderings). In the end, we had to go directly to the vendor ourselves, who graciously honored the exchange given that we had such a terrible time trying to get that through Jaki. The whole experience has been extremely disappointing and we would not recommend her services.

On March 25, 2026, Screenworks installed a retractable screen at my home. Within just a few days, the screen came off its track and would not operate properly. I contacted the company on March 30, 2026, and the owner ALBERTO CASTILLO came out to repair it. During that visit, he repeatedly claimed that someone must have run into the screen. This is completely untrue. The screen simply came off the track on its own, which I believe indicates poor workmanship or an improper installation. As of today, the screen has once again come off the track and no longer opens or closes properly. I contacted Screenworks a second time to request that they honor their work and repair the installation. Instead of standing behind the work Albert performed, t informed me that I would have to pay a service-call fee. He then referred me to a third-party company to repair the screen. I do not believe this is fair or acceptable. The issue appears to be related to the original installation, and I should not be charged additional fees to correct defective workmanship. The installer should stand behind the quality of the work and make the necessary repairs without charging me. read more

Alberto was installing screens at my neighbor's home. Because my neighbor has exquisite taste and only uses the best quality contractors, I asked Alberto if he had time to fix my sliding screen doors while he was here. To my surprise, he said "I'd be happy to. I'll come over and have a look in just a minute." Since the screen frames were a disaster from the salt air at the beach, a reckless guest and several dogs, Alberto took measurements, designed and ordered the screens for our uniquely settled house from his fabrication facility and returned the following day and installed my fabulously smooth high quality screen doors. Albert did a wonderful job installing my three screen doors. I had a security screen put on the front door, I replaced a broken sliding screen door, and had a invisible screen door put on my back door. All three doors are quality made, and Albert took the time to measure properly and install them perfectly. I have an older house that is not plumb so the extra time he took really made a difference. I also had three window screens replaced and they are great too! I recommend Screenworks to anyone. read more

He communicated and come to my house promptly, explained what he was going to do very well and brought the new screens back to my house the next day.
