Just unbelievable how great of service I received. I had messaged a few screen businesses and Alex was one of the first to communicate with me. Very good overall communication. Right off the bat, I felt like I could trust him as he was just super polite and wasn't automatically telling me some BS about having to buy whole new screen doors like one of the other companies. He was extremely busy that day but he knew I was pretty eager to get service for one of our highly used screen doors. Alex respectfully asked if it would be ok to come by after his last job around 7:30pm, which I was ecstatic about. He fixed that door right away and we scheduled for him to come out the following week for the other lower priority doors. Alex was such a nice guy and my first thoughts of him were correct. He wasn't just trying to make a quick buck, he was offering solutions that made sense to me. He even did some work that may have been quick and easy for him to do after all the years of learning and working in his trade, but then charged too little. It may have been easy for him, but it would have been extremely difficult or impossible for me to do myself, or another company would have easily charged much, much more. He fixed a total of three sliding screen doors, all of which are sliding so much better, so much quieter, and no longer have holes in them. I'm a happy customer. I reached out to Alex after moving to the area and needing a few screens replaced in the new home. Unfortunately, we couldn't even get past scheduling... To start, after attempting to schedule a date on the week of August 14th, 2020, he told me "I will circle back with some times..." on August 7th. After 10 days, I followed up since I had not heard back. He did respond that day (August 17th) and after some emails we agreed to an appointment for that Saturday, August 22nd. I confirmed I would block off noon-1800, but informed him that he would need to advise at least a day before with an exact appointment time. He replied "Deal. Can I text you at your below-listed number?". On August 20th he sent another email saying he'll text me on the 21st (Friday) when he is on his way. I had to correct him that the appointment was for Saturday, and I still required an exact appointment time. He replied "Saturday. Sorry. I had a moment". Saturday comes, and of course he never followed up to inform me of an exact appointment time. He texts day of, asking "would you like me to stop by". Conversation: - I reply "40 minutes was not enough notice". - He asks "how much notice do you need?". - I reply (consistent with our previous conversations) "If I block a day, or a half a day, I would expect an exact appointment time by at least the day before. Otherwise things like yesterday can happen where you want to show up at a time when I was out of the house" - He replies "I understand. I'm sorry that I cannot provide an exact appointment time. These are extraordinarily busy days so all of us screeners are stretched thin. My understanding was that I had a block of time 1-6pm with which to work. 4:38 pm was within that block. Perhaps you should call some other screen companies?" Does anyone feel like this is a good way to find or maintain business? I certainly do not. read more
