Walking into the shop everything smelled super yummy. Although there was a large variety to choose from, presentation wasn't great. The donuts were oddly shaped (non uniform), and the frosting wasn't evenly spread and not nearly enough for how thick the bar was. The filling was very flavorful, but the chocolate glaze was a thin drizzle. They taste better than they look, but they're about the same as a donut from the bakery window of the mainstream grocery shop. Good donut, could use improvements. read more

Been buying donuts from this place for years. Quality is good, but the staff is TERRIBLE (Not the owners). Today I was threatened that the police would be called to arrest me and the CDC would charge me with not being 6 feet apart while in line. Hire better people. read more

Absolutely fantastic doughnut shop. Totally reminds me of shops back east. Not pretentious, inexpensive, & absolutely delicious! Doughnuts should not be an expensive outing. This place keeps it simple & it really shines! I bought a dozen glazed doughnut holes & a large coffee for less than $3, yes $3!! They are all about the doughnut & they do it very well. You won't find any Oreos or Captain Crunch here, but you will find some of the most traditional & delicious doughnuts in the state. They have all of the classics & a few surprises. Ok, I'm going against the crowd here, but this place doesn't quite do it for me. First time today, and likely last. It is a neat place--no doubt. In a town with nothing but a Dunkin, it would beat in most categories. Presentation is good, the lady at the counter super nice, and the window on their production area is worth seeing. Glass case full of super huge doughnuts, but $12.95 dz is rich for a mediocre neighborhood shop that's in Gresham & hasn't been on TV. Raised/small dz $8.95, mixed dz $11.95. The giant Persians and cinna twists look nice and chewy, but they were disappointingly dry. My wife said the buttermilk bar was dry too, and wondered if it was cooked the day before (I got these at 9am Sat). The Bavarians are better than a lot, but fell short in a key way. Good chewy dough and homemade custard! It's a big doughnut, though, and the scant chocolate icing made taste like a giant flavorless dough ball. My 10 yr old, who loves doughnuts, only ate one bite of his chocolate iced glazed. He said it tasted "sour". The dough does have a distinctive taste that another reviewer considered a feature. Not sourdough-bread sour, but maybe buttermilk sour. Some may like it, but my 10 yr old did not approve, and I'm not sure it thrills me either. So 12 bucks later, my fam is looking at a huge box of huge nice looking doughnuts, but wishing I went someplace else. We've not hit all the places in town yet. The one on Alberta is quite good. Voodoo...overpriced and usually stale or disgustingly sweet and confused, though I have had a couple plain glazed that I got lucky with. Blue Star downtown...$3 ea for a hipster-made gourmet. Interesting once in a while. Favorite so far probably Honey Jar Thai restaurant on Sandy. Weird, but good fresh and tasty doughnuts for $8.95 dz. Nothing to see there, like the novelty of seeing doughnuts made at Donut World, but wife says buttermilk bars are huge and moist, and other types were well regarded by the kids. My wife and I were very disappointed with the Apple and the Cherry Fritters. It brought to mind the Clara Pellar commercials for Wendy's where she exclaimed "Where's the Beef", because we couldn't find any fruit in the Fritters! Simply the best. Joes in Sandy is on par with these guys, but other than that, no one is close. The people working there are always friendly. The atmosphere is old school coffee shop feel. These are the best donuts. What I love most about them is that they don't leave that greasy coating on the roof of your mouth that most greasy donuts leave. Donut world is right down the block from me and I've stopped in quite a few times. Pretty decent place. The donuts are usually very fresh, they have some coffee and stuff as well which I haven't tried. On my first visit I got a really rude employee and I left a previous review based on that, but I'm editing it because that doesn't feel fair. (Basically, I was totally ignored and it was done on purpose. For whatever reason, the employee just didn't want to talk to/interact with me. Whatever.) The other times I've gone in, everyone is friendly and I get to walk home with a delicious donut. I appreciate having this cute little shop so close to me in Gresham! read more

I buy these all the time, as well as my boss who buys them for the employees. By the end of the day, the donuts are gone. All my coworkers agree that they're fantastic! The best donuts I have had yet. And I LOVE donuts! I zipped over for Donut World after a particularly crummy week, really wanting a cronut. Lo and behold! There they were, larger than life! And not just any cronut, but a custard-filled crescent of amazingness! I have never been disappointed here. The staff is SO nice, it always smells delicious when I walk in, the shop is clean, the selection, great. I am really into custard-filled, and sometimes the custard you get in other places has a sour, artificial taste. The custard here tastes and has a texture like it should. Creamy, not too sweet, and not runny at all. It holds up, and doesn't run all over the place when you take a bite. We are regulars, and will keep coming back! read more
