OK, I have to talk about this wonderful donut place. I have a very high bar for donuts. Shout out to El Reno donuts in El Reno, Oklahoma! However, this little donut place is top of the list. The glazed donuts are the best and they're so soft the rest of their donuts looked great. He was literally cooking them when we walked in at about 11 o'clock one day. He remembers you. In my quest to find the perfect glazed and old fashion donuts, I visited Donut Palace located right off the 185th Avenue exit on the 26 West. I had been by on several different afternoons and they were closed. This Friday late morning they were open. I ordered an apple fritter and a glazed donut and an old fashion donut and was quickly on my way home. The two gentlemen who ran the place were quite nice. Inside was neat and clean with a collage of many photos on the wall to the left. Great ambiance, good vibes. But what about those donuts you ask? The apple fritter was more soft than you typically see and mildly sweet although the apple flavor was quite strong. Still, the softness was a bit off putting. Later that day I ate the glazed and old fashion donuts. The glazed the donut was puffy with the right amount of glaze; it appeared to be perfect. Surprisingly, it was not. It actually was a bit dry and slightly hard. The old fashion donut was spot on, having the right consistency of hard-ish on the outside, and moist and flavorful on the inside. Loved that one. Overall, I would recommend that you try this place to satisfy your donut fix. The donuts aren't spectacular, but they are good enough. The guys that work there are quite pleasant and in tune to great customer service. My guess is that their early morning batches are probably the best ones so get there early; do not get there close to lunch time like I did! read more

We'd heard really positive reviews of Donut Palace and decided to stop in as we were driving by today. So glad we did. As others have said, the staff are super friendly. Shelves were pretty picked over by the time we arrived mid-day on Saturday, but we still found quite a few treats. Apple fritter (excellent), buttermilk (yum!), pumpkin and apple cider (ok), and they also gave us a couple extra goodies that were great. We ate everything before leaving and loved it. Every Saturday, our friend Safou at Donut Palace scrubs down the kitchen and carefully prepares dozens of nut-free vegan donuts so kids like Brandon can walk through the door and enjoy a treat. Today I picked up two dozen pink strawberry sprinkle donuts to send on his overnight Field Study so Brandon could have one of his favorite desserts with his friends and relish in the simple joy of sharing in what everyone else is eating. I don't think Safou fully understands what a gift he is to families like ours. He greets every person who walks through his doors like beloved family returning home after a long journey -- with warmth, generosity, and genuine joy. I tried a buttermilk bar, cinnamon roll, and fritter recently. I had forgotten my review from six years ago and the buttermilk bar blew my mind again! It has the perfect amount of oil and glaze over lots of nooks and crannies for an excellent surface area/volume ratio. I also ate a cinnamon roll fresh out of the fryer and it was the best thing ever; it was pillowy soft and melted in my mouth. Sadly, the apple fritter tasted burnt. Despite this, I still give this place five stars. The owner has a pretty funny sense of humor; he told me to hold my fresh cinnamon roll like a baby, lol. read more

The staff at Donut Palace have been consistently the nicest staff I have ever been tended by. I have been going to this shop on and off since my sophomore year back in 2018. the older gentleman whom I would frequently see would always offer me an extra donut or a couple donut holes on the house whenever I would come! The other day I knew I was calling in late to see if they sold out of donuts. I was informed that they were actually closing early due to being nearly out for the day, but they offered me a dozen donuts in return that same day! I unfortunately was involved in a hit-and-run recently and let them know that I would have to probably take public transport so I wouldn't make it in time before closing. They open daily (seven days a week?) during this difficult time. The owner bakes donuts everyday, serve them himself, put a plastic sheild in between the counter, put his gloves on, and wash the paper bills under the espresso steamer, then dry them out before he hands them to customers. Well I'd say some good, some decent and some not-so-decent.... The husband ran there this past weekend, best donut reviews in the immediate area so we had to give them a try. According to him, the gentlemen on staff were extremely friendly, and as it turns out eager to please. I'd requested a white cake donut with white frosting, and altho they didn't have any avail at that moment they offered to quickly ice a plain cake....very cool. As for our other selections, a couple old fashioned, a couple raised yeast, and 2 cakes. The yeast donuts were not good...the icings were good and the reg glazed even had crispy edges, always a fan. However they actually tasted of oil, never a fan. The white cake white icing was pretty good, although the icing wasn't the normal icing one expects on a donut. It was softer and slightly sweeter. To be honest it was a bit odd, but didn't taste bad. The old fashioned selections were on par with similar at most donut shops. Overall a good showing for service and cake varieties...but a miss on the yeast donuts. read more
