I must say, I had Voodoo doughnuts on the brain....I'm so glad I had the chance to visit while in Portland and after multiple friends insisted I go, specifically for the bacon maple doughnut, they weren't wrong. The location I visited had plenty of parking, which I appreciated, and the staff were friendly and efficient. There's a huge variety of donuts, so whether you like classic, over-the-top, or somewhere in between, there's something for your sweet spot. They also had holiday options, which was a nice touch...tis the season! Another standout was the...me and Mariah go back like babies and pacifiers...the ODB...Iykyk. It was a fun stop, good donuts, and worth the visit.

Came here for an original glazed, left with an original glazed that was not sweet whatsoever and incredibly fluffy. Overall had a great tie and a we delicious as per usual.

Service is friendly as always. It was my husband's first time in Portland so of course we had to make time to visit Voodoo Doughnuts. The donuts are as delicious as they are beautiful. We ordered four donuts and two milks. They even threw in a special Valentine's Day donut for us which was dope. This is a must visit in Portland.

Yummy donuts, lots of options, clean store and plenty of parking. The staff was very friendly.

You just can't go wrong at Voodoo. You're bound to find an outstanding selection of delectable donuts, and most likely flavors you've never had before. Of course they have a standard selection, but for some reason, even their standard donuts blow any other donuts out of the water. Whenever I'm in Portland, this is one of the stops I make, no matter what. The truth is, I can't help but get at least four, yup FOUR. And yes, they are all four for me. My second language is Oink :) Sometimes there's a line but fear not my donut noshing Yelpster, it moves pretty quickly. The team inside make sure to keep it moving, and the security guard standing at the door is constantly ushering people in and out. If you haven't been here while in Portland, what the hell have you been doing??? Crawl out from under that rock and make your way to voodoo doughnut!!

was told voodoo donuts were very popular in portland but didn't really have high expectations because many people said they weren't that good but we wanted to try anyway for the experience. we got banana and another donut. they both weren't that good. the flavor was artificial and overall, i wouldn't come back again sadly. it's a large space with lots of colorful decor. parking is big too.

This is a great location. The staff ensured I had fresh donuts for my order, and the variety was very large and delicious.

Was surprised there was no wait. Liked the seasonal triple berry. Wish the pre-dozen donuts had nut free options. Would come again. Ambiance was ok didn't like that there are no customer restrooms but I get it, it's downtown Portland.

I picked up donuts from this Voodoo Doughnut location. The parking lot made it easy to stop, and there were no lines before 9 a.m. The donuts are huge, tasty, and a lot of fun -- we couldn't finish them all, but especially enjoyed "torturing" the Voodoo Doll donut.

When I was visiting Portland I decided to go to Voodoo donuts. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted by staff. The staff were friendly and polite. The menu was packed of great selections of donuts and pastries. I selected the chocolate and cinnamon sugar cake donuts. The donuts were soft and very delicious. The ambiance is customer friendly. This is a great place to go get a delicious donut or pastry when you are in Portland.

I've passed by Voodoo in Los Angeles multiple times but never gave it a try because I don't have the biggest sweet tooth. Imho, the donuts look too sweet for me. My teeth ache just looking at them. Since moving to Portland, I was surprised to learn that it's a big deal here. Years later, I finally tried Voodoo but ... I chose a basic donut -- cinnamon sugar. It's a flavor that I personally like generally, but I feel it's basic compared to Voodoo's popular picks. I found myself more amused by the interior and aesthetic than the donut itself. I can see why so many people stop by Voodoo. It's pink and cute! The paper bag is super cute and even the parking lines are pink. My friend was excited about her pink box. Back to the donut. Honestly, the taste is not terrible but it's also just not that special. The one I picked tastes like a regular cake donut with a lot of sugar. For $1.50, I'm not mad. If you're curious, you should go. But, don't expect a world class donut. Go for the experience. To each their own.

I've been here quite a few times and have really enjoyed the Aribic People's latte with its strong cardamon overtones, the Chocolate Jesus and today, the Mucho Calliente, which promises a chili infusion, and cinnamon infused espresso with dark chocolate! But wait..., oh no, I forgot to ask for oat... this is probably (certainly) dairy. Argh! Sorry, I have no Viking blood and can not digest cow milk. I would rather battle the aforementioned Viking before I'd endure the results of ... dairy! So, I brought my drink up fully prepared to pay for another and everyone there, EVERYONE, in almost unison, refused to take my payment. They kindly and quickly made another and... oh... spicy indeed, but chocolatey and balanced! One of the best spicy mochas I've had anywhere ... and I am an absolute Spella snob and proud of it! Inside secret: Don't miss out on the great selection of truly authentic Egyptian foods and pastries, as well as some really nice necklaces and earrings. His hospitality set the tone for the whole evening--warm, relaxed, and full of conversation between people from all over the world. One of the highlights was watching Joe prepare traditional Egyptian coffee over hot sand, a centuries-old method that slowly heats the coffee and brings out deep, rich flavors. But the real comfort of the night came in the form of Egyptian Sahlab. Imagine a thick, creamy winter drink made from warm milk, gently sweetened and flavored with vanilla and orange blossom water. Those of you who tried it know what I am talking about! It was very nice to get a beautiful taste of Egyptian culture right here on Hawthorne. Huge thanks to Joe for the incredible hospitality and for sharing these traditions with us. I hope they expand to include a full Egyptian, Mediterranean food menu.

I got the seasonal peppermint mocha drink- all the flavors were very light and not too sweet which I appreciated. I only wished that there was stronger coffee taste (my preference), as it tasted like a warm milk drink with a hint of peppermint and dash of bitterness from the coffee. I do wonder how their drinks will taste iced so I do plan on coming back! I arrived with my party of 2 just before a small line formed, and ordered my seasonal drink and a drip coffee. there were 2 baristas at the time, but after we ordered one of them left(?) and only one barista remained to take orders and make drinks. it was busy and as a barista myself I understand so I didn't mind the longer wait and understood that they forgot the drip coffee we ordered due to the small rush. Upon reminding them after the customers behind us were served, the barista was super apologetic and made the drip coffee immediately. However, the coffee was lukewarm and didn't have a strong coffee taste either (according to my friend). Overall a cute little cafe on Hawthorne, but I wouldn't drive out of my way for their coffee. I would be willing to give this place another shot if I was in the area, as their other seasonal drinks look yummy!

The two-tops are fairly snug together so it can feel like you're eavesdropping or being listened to. There's counter seating along one side which had some refreshing morning sun- when a couple seats opened up there, we moved and were very comfy. There are a couple of cozy chairs in the front window and some additional counter and lounge seating in an adjoining room. The drink quality and presentation were high quality and delicious. The cost of a 12oz latte ($7) with no special milk was higher than other cafes I've been to recently around Portland including places that create their own syrups for specialty drinks of the month. That said, I don't begrudge the cost of a masterfully hand-crafted, drinkable cup of art and that is exactly what I received. I think the cost stuck in my head because the welcome did not feel particularly warm at the register. They were having an animated conversation with the barista and I couldn't help but feel like we were inconveniencing them by saying good morning and trying to order. When we picked up our orders, the barista was warm and friendly. Overall, it's a delightful spot in an equally lovely neighborhood.
