This is not the first time we've used this company. The first time we just had them move us. The second time we asked them to pack, unpack, and reinstall our TV mounts. Big mistake. Things were literally thrown into boxes with little care. Bowls and glasses were wrapped, but everything else was just tossed into boxes and marked by the room. A bottle of perfume was just tossed into a garbage can and spilled everywhere; then it was insinuated it was the resident's fault for "leaving it behind". They were contracted to pack. This was a bottle of perfume recently acquired while overseas, so not easy nor inexpensive to replace. A 65" TV was hung without the bracket being secured properly and the TV almost fell. We were asked if someone touched the TV. Again, insinuating the homeowner did something wrong. It is an adjustable mount that is able to be moved and repositioned. We had someone else come out and fix it for us. They told us the bracket wasn't on properly. read more

I recently moved cities, and after having a wonderful experience with Donation Movers in the past, I contacted them again to help facilitate my move. Paul, the owner, was super awesome. He was responsive and professional. He quoted me $445-ish to move, and told me there would be three movers (including him) who would come out and help me move. I was given a time frame of 7am-8am for the movers to show up, and that morning, Paul texted me to let me know they were running behind due to an accident on the freeway. I didn't mind, as it gave me a bit more time to finish things up at my previous place. Paul and two other movers showed up and they were READY. They took all of my boxes and furniture out and had it packed up within about an hour. Here is where things get less impressive. Paul's attitude was great. Like I mentioned, he was courteous and professional the entire time. However, the two other movers... Not so much. I never got their names, but one of the guys had a really poor attitude the entire time, and the other guy was okay at first but as the move went on, he became less and less pleasant to interact with. All in all, it took just over 2 hours to move from my old place to my new place, which was pretty awesome. However, when it came time to pay, I suddenly owed $605 (before tip) because the move "took longer than expected". I was not expecting to pay that much, nor had I budgeted to pay that much - I was quoted $445. None of my things were broken, and all of my items got transferred from one place to the other. I just don't feel that they were honest regarding the pricing. This company stood me up!!! They didn't even have the decency to call me. They ignored my calls, email and FB message is how you treat your customers?! On 12/8/20 I scheduled their services for today, 12/18/20. They gave me an ETA of between 10-2pm and said I'd get a call an hour before arrival. When I didn't get a call by 2:15 I started to worry why that was so I tried calling. No answer. I attempted to call a few more times. When no one answered and there's no option to leave a VM, I sent an email. No reply. Called again. Messaged through FB. It's after 6pm now and I still haven't heard a word. They have left me high and dry. When I was getting estimates from multiple companies, they sure were quick to reply to emails and leave me a couple messages wanting my business. The owner however, I'm assuming, had a bad attitude as soon as I opened my door. He's the one with the metal all over his face. His attitude got worse and worse. I honestly have never met a ruder person. He made a horrible situation I was in, so, so much worse. I'm still kind of in shock by how that dude treated me like he was Gods gift to I don't know whom, the middle aged face piercing population maybe? He treated me like dirt. For no reason. We used this company for 2 moves one for our garage contents into storage. They were fast and efficient. Then we used the movers for our one bedroom from Chandler to Phoenix . The movers again were fast, efficient, they wrapped the fireplace tv stand and my antique round table. Wonderful job all of you, they did leave 2 boxes, missed them , but no problem we will get them next week ourselves. They were in a closet by the front door. So that's ok our fault. Over the last 19 years we have moved 6 times. In town, across state lines & across the country from NE to SW. The last 2 times we decided to do it ourself because our previous 3 experiences were horrendous. If I ever move again, I'm calling Paul and his crew. I've never had a 'good' experience moving before. Paul showed up on time at 7:30am and his whole team was ready to go. I have a family of 4, moving from a 3 bed 2 bath 2-story condo to a 1 story house. They disassembled our kind bed, and other furniture, took the stuff we wanted to donate (one less thing I had to do), and had everything re-assembled and moved in by 12:30pm. In only 5 hours we were totally set up in our new place! We were so impressed we bought everyone pizza and they hung out for lunch. If I could give this organization a zero star rating I would. And to the folks that rated it a 5 star your relatives most own the place. There are many issues with this outfit and I would agree with one of the previous posters comments about the lack of professional dress of the movers. They look like they were picked up right off the street. First impression was HORRIBLE. I've used 1st Choice movers in the past and I love that they had embroidered shirts and looked professional. Second, this was supposed to be a full service move. They talked with my pregnant wife and she told them they would be packing all our dishes everything. Well, they came to the house without ANY boxes. No dish pack. No wardrobe boxes. No tape. NOTHING but blankets and a truck. When we advised them of the issue the "team leader" (for lack of a better term) said "oh yeah, we've had this issue before". I ended up helping the movers even though that wasnt the plan at all, and they ended up packing our items in every suitcase and box they could find. Then, even though we outlined everything we had in our house, they didnt have enough room in their truck for our items. They had to leave the donation items back at the house and pick them up at a later time. The truck they came with appeared to be a rental from Budget and not their own which was another sign of their lack of professionalism. Finally, when they moved our items from Chandler to North Phoenix, they broke one picture frame, got black stains on our $1500 couch and brown stains on some of our clothes. My wife called the owner about the issues the next day and he responded promptly with a voicemail but after multiple attempts to reach him since that voicemail we have been unsuccessful. He gave the initial response as if he did care about the poor service but clearly he did not because he failed to follow up. WOW! Donations Movers were there for us every step of the way! Prior to our move date they made several trips to our house to take items we were not going to take to our new home. On moving day they were laser focused and protected our furniture, loaded and unloaded the truck twice (we definitely need to downsize!). PLEASE DONT EVEN THINK OF USING THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!! I spoke with Paul(I think he's the owner) and got a quote for what I needed and set up a date for the move. I was given the 2-6p slot which was ok. The guys called on moving day to let me know they were on their way, they got there at 3:38 and came up to my place, Paul proceeds to tell me how they almost didn't come because the traffic was heavy.... And he had a bit of an attitude because of it like it was my fault. He tells me the truck had some other persons stuff in it that they were supposed to drop off at a donation place but didn't because of the traffic, I told him he could have called me to let me know that they would be late because the had to drop the stuff off to see if I was ok with it...then he asks me how much stuff I had to move and I told him once again, the apartment and the stuff in my garage, he gets bent out of shape and says " well this might be two trips", and started to move things. In the process of moving my stuff all the of the guys had to use my bathroom which each of them took approx 15-20 minutes in there...... Really? So one of the guys hurt his ankle on the last job and (I felt bad for him) pretty much stayed downstairs moving things which of course took longer since he was hurt. Another guy broke one of my book cases and they weren't (and still haven't) going to fix it like it was nothing, one guy told me to use black tape to cover the break in my book case so it won't show... We finally get everything moved five hours later and Paul wants to get paid..... So I bring up the book case and Paul said he'll get the piece from Ikea and get it fixed.... Its been over a week now and still nothing from Paul and his moving company. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone!!!!! I sent him an email discussing their service...... Hello, This is Shauna Jones, I wanted to let you know that I wasn't real happy with the service I received from your company for the money I spent. I can understand that you were upset with the traffic and getting to my complex, but that was no excuse for you having an attitude and taking it out on me the customer. I feel that you didn't really give me the service I paid for, which was supposed to be three guys and a truck for $100 an hour plus the $75 for gas and taxes.... the truck wasn't even empty and one of your guys was hurt which wasn't my fault which caused him not to be at full capacity with helping and definitely factored in the time taking longer. I think as a business, there should have been something reduced financially because of that since I didn't cause it to happen. Also, I didn't get a copy of the contract which is bad because now I have nothing showing the agreement that was made for your services. During the move one of your guys broke my book case which if I hadn't said anything about, you would have left and not even tried to do anything about it, and actually you still haven't done anything which you said you'd do. Their motto is "Trust Our Family To Move Yours!" Let me tell you I will not trust these guys to do anything for me ever again!!! They have a nice web site, and when I called them based on a buddy's recommendation the owner wanted me to go on the web site & fill out questionnaire to give me an estimate. It sounded fair enough. After the formalities were over he & I talked on the phone & he explained: he had one apartment move ahead of me and he would send a crew of three over & based on my apt. size & furniture pieces it should take between 2-3 hours. Up to this point everything seemed very professional, & I felt good about using these guys... Well moving day came & I had everything boxed up. I was expecting these guys @ noon. They did not show up till 5PM!!! There was a four man crew instead of three, & the kids working for this outfit are more like skateboard hooligans than professional movers (they horsed around & were full of wise cracks!!!!) Also I was told I'm to pay per guy not by the hour@ the end of the day not before getting started! (Not what I was quoted via internet, email, & phone!!!) I started moving all of the boxes outside so when they got there they would worry more about the big pieces inside & would just need to dolly the boxes in the truck! So when they started things were moving along well the first half hour! Then one of the guys asked me for water which I had a 24 pack in fridge & I obliged... Then another asked me if I could run to store & p/u some Gatorade, with hot summer months in Phoenix this was a reasonable request. I was gone for 15 minutes, and I swear to you these guys got nothing done during this duration! After this break the horseplay, wise cracking, complaining about how this was their third move for the day & how tiered they were, & generally bad attitude by one of these guys started! At first the crew leader told him to knock it off, but like a virus the general behavior grew. I called the owner, Paul Schmitt, & complained. I guess he called the culprit and ripped him a new one, because his attitude went from being a wise ass to very negative and don't give a crap about this job! Well 2 1/2 hours later we slammed the truck door shot & rolled down the street to my new place... The electricity was shot down & things the sun was going down fast... The kid with the wonderful attitude was trying to get the crew to dump my stuff on the street & leave. After talking to the owner Paul & the crew leader Adam they agreed to put everything down stairs in living room & kitchen, and come back the next day to complete job. By 9pm everything was cramped downstairs and I was told to pay them a $100 more than I was quoted for based on having the fourth man in the crew, after an argument I agreed since I needed these guys back to help move my stuff upstairs the next day! Well they said they be there @ noon tomorrow, & never showed up! I even left messages with no reply!!! Also after I got everything situated I discovered a glass top on my side table was never unloaded from their truck, which I never got back! The job went smoothly. I contacted Donation Movers via the on-line quote on their website. The got back to me within 2 hours of submitting the quote. The lady who called me back was very nice and answered all my questions. Once I booked their services, I received a confirmation email listing the quote and other information needed for the move. 2 days before the move I received a confirmation phone call. The day of the move I received a call about stating the movers were on their way. Once the movers got to my apartment, they loaded everything up in about an hour. They made sure that all large pieces and valuables were wrapped to prevent breakages or damage. Once at my new apartment, they unloaded in about 2 hours. ( I was moving from a ground floor apartment to a 3rd floor apartment) The movers were very nice and professional and had a great sense of humor. I would definitely use them again! read more

Paul and his crew moved us from Phoenix to Flagstaff, AZ with military-like efficiency and respect for our belongings. They underestimated how much we had and they ended up having to make two trips...to Flagstaff. They did not miss a beat or even charge us more. They had plenty of guys on the job and did not break for anything-no standing around. When they saw the long steep driveway, they had to park at the end of the driveway and carried everything up (and up) without balking. They were a finely oiled machine. And tireless. I was moving all the things out of my father's apartment after his death. Having movers who would take donations made it very convenient. They were patient as I decided what I would donate and what I would keep in my garage. When we got to the garage they couldn't have more helpful assisting me as I donated some of my own things and moving my father's belongs to various locations in my home. Unfortunately we were unable to use them because we had to keep changing our move date and they ended up not having availability for the day we moved. But they deserve 5 stars for customer service-Shannon was so great to work with, I had to reschedule 3 or 4 times and she was so flexible and tried hard to get us a day that would work! I hired Donation Movers to move me yesterday, 6/27/17. The first item they moved was an 840lb gun safe. They didn't wrap the safe before moving it so it was lying directly on their dolly. While transitioning through the front door, the dolly got hung up on the threshold and the safe started sliding off the dolly. I could see they were losing control of the safe as it became off balance so I stepped in to give them a hand. We managed to get it outside at which point they re-positioned it on the dolly. Once in the truck they began titling the safe back upright and noticed I noticed several deeps scratches in the side of the safe and I pointed this out to them Immediately. The lead crew member became defensive and explained how it was impossible that they could have scratched the safe. How could this have happened he asked? Well, I inspected the dolly and could see that the carpet on the dolly was fastened with metal screws that were basically flush with the carpet. Furthermore, the screws lined up with the scratches on the safe. After showing them this they agreed that they caused the damage...not sure how they could refute it at that point. Never was any type of apology offered whatsoever, they just said if they break something it will be taken care of and kept working. This was just the beginning...there poor attitude, complete lack of customer service, respect and professionalism became apparent. To say the least, the move went down hill from there. Later, while talking with the owner Paul on the phone (after he had consulted with his crew member about the incident) I asked him how he was going to make it right. He asked me what I meant. Lol. He said your safe still functions right? Really? He finally agreed to come look at it until on Monday (6 days later) and go from there. I asked him if he could come look at it now and he said he could not. A bit apprehensive about waiting 6 days to have him take a look, I asked him if he would acknowledge that his guys damaged the safe. He would not. I think I know where this is going....bottom line. You couldn't pay me to use Donation Movers. I will update this review if the owner comes out to look at the safe. UPDATE 7/6/2017....Owner has not contacted me. read more

I had a mostly positive experience with this company when I first used them Dec 2015 so I rehired them to move again in June 2016. The move was under 5 miles. My home was packed & ready to go with most of the items still in the garage where they had moved them to for me 6 mths prior. I have been attempting to give the Owner, Mr Schmitt, an opportunity to rectify the numerous issues from this last move first personally, now through the Better Business Bureau to which there has yet to be ANY resolve at this point (other than more unprofessionalism from the Owner not taking responsibility), however this is the reason I am just now posting this review. The move was a little more complicated this time as I had a small amount of items going to my dad's house after we would be first unloading at my now condo. I had everything packed & organized, ready to move. I also had a small amount of items for donation which were totally separated from the items to move. I had shown Jordan (the lead that day) some tears in the leather on my couch from the last move and he assured me he would be careful and even said he remembered which guy had caused the tears from last move although nothing was said at time of that move about the damage he admitted to being aware of. Unfortunately, Jordan didn't find it necessary, however, to even use a blanket wrapped dolly. The couch now has numerous tears & scuffs in the leather that were not previously there.The guys decided to take my mobility scooter on joy rides up and down the street never once asking me if it was ok. The scooter is my only mode of transportation and NOT a toy -- (costs over $2,000). The one larger gentleman I suspect weighs more than 250# which is the weight limit and would put additional strain, wear on the motor. In their playing around my power dial is now messed up. Next, I was told they wouldn't have room to take the donations which I understood, however they did rummage through them, taking what they wanted (did not ask) leaving the rest behind in a mess from their rummaging. They were unable to get all my belongings including our clothes which were all wrapped/protected on hangers or even some lamps, but had room for what they took. As they were unloading at my current home, the condo, they asked for water which I happily obliged, however they threw the empty water bottles in the landscape in front of my unit. Then as I was explaining to Jordan that my dad would be meeting him at his house and would be paying him there, he blatantly asked if they were getting tipped! My father & I said yes, as I had all ready planned on it, although thought asking was highly unprofessional! (I was a server & bartender for many years - you don't ask!) When they said they were done and I checked the trailer, all the items to go to my dad's house were secured behind blankets, with the guys standing there, I was unable to see anything. I could see a few items beside the items they took from the donations that belonged inside the condo, which I told them, but all else was out of sight. As I unpacked, I found things missing. I have checked with my parents and these items are not there either. When I went to check the other items at my parents the I inspected my mahogany entertainment center and found it had been damaged significantly not just deep scratches but also an entire break that they had attempted to repair with glue & staple gun! I was and am so beyond upset about this! The missing items, some yard tools that were brand new, used once and my yoga/therapy ball I use for my disability were not there. I had not ever received any paperwork nor did my father (since his was last stop) to show that we signed off on the items moved. I had to request these from the Owner, which he eventually emailed. The signatures & initials stating everything was delivered in good condition were forged ! In dealing with the Owner, Mr Schmitt over these past months he has been rude, condescending with a total lack of respect or professionalism. He has made statements eluding that I am lying, "blowing this all out of proportion", and flat out denying these things happened when he was NOT present at ANY point during the move and has even since terminated the employment of 2 of the three movers that moved me that day. I have provided numerous photos to the owner showing the damages. He said he was sending me a $50 check to cover the damages which I said was NOT acceptable, although he still contends he has sent it although I have not ever gotten this check nor would it rectify this situation. Upon further inspection and unpacking; all of my wine glasses were broken! Backs coming off of a nightstand and a wooden hamper! Drawers on a buffet broken as well as handle pulls! One of my nicer stand fans has the piece missing that holds the fan blade on! How did that happen! So at 9 am this happened. Most disrespectful bunch of jerks I've ever dealt with in my life. Filthy mouth's, very unprofessional worst I've ever seen. For what happened this morning is indescribable..... to disrespect, swear at and degrade a hearing-impaired person is beyond words to explain. And once I asked them not to speak to a hearing impaired person like that and disrespect him....(they had no idea what hearing-impaired means), I had explain to them that he can't hear he's deaf. When I said do not touch him talk to me if there is a problem...then it got physical absolutely uncalled for. Absolutely pathetic company DO NOT USE THESE PRICKS!! The issues was they were not at their scheduled loading dock time they were loading during my brothers scheduled time. And they said "I don't give a F!!" Then said "F You" to us! So I had my child (6 month old) in the car and could not wait. I was already waiting for 30 min into my loading time and past my time and someone else's scheduled truck was there now. So they would not move even when I asked politely 1st, and I even told them the Optima manager would like to speak with you guys. They said F them!! I was shocked so I parked my truck in front of theirs to started loading. The Donation Movers came back and told me to get the "F outa the way". Lol. I laughed and said you took my time and you completely disrespectful and outa line so now you can wait. This mouthy little guy told me he is going to take my truck and move it. They I flipped out because my daughter was in the truck. Then they started to pick up my brothers couch and throw the cushions and pieces back into our trailer. That's when they started yelling at my hearing impaired brother and I had enough so I got in the middle and this ass pushed me and that's when I had to take control of him and move him back and out of the way. Before you know it I had three guys on my back trying to put a choke hold me and saying he's gunna kill me...... Unreal. Professional!!? No. To throw someone's belongings around let alone touch it....wrong. This guy threaten to take my truck with my daughter in it and I lost it. I literally had to go get my hand gun to keep these jerks away. Then with families around they are yelling "F you Mother F-ear" you F- ing pussies!! Such a unprofessional group and company. Then you right after that I called to company to let them know of the issue and Charges are going to be filed and I would like to speak with the Manager or Owner ASAP so I can find out if they want to handle this in-house or by filing charges of assault and property damage. Also that the Scottadale PD is waiting to hear back from me. Still have not received a phone call and they acted like its no big deal in the office and there is no rush to solve this issue. Again REALLLL professional group. I give them ZERO stars and filing a police report. I'm not racist but I guarantee one of those guys has a felony or a warrant the way they ran off when they were told the cops were being called. I warn you people don't use them. Beat up old junk truck with a beat up old trailer and while I was waiting to a ask them to move their truck I saw inside their trailer and it was a train wreck inside. No clue how to pack let alone be professional. Well started good, they called to see if they can come early. Perfect. Then downhill from there. Dinged walls, dirty carpet, and dented my 1 hour old New Fridge at my new house. Great movers!! Sharp on time... finished as fast as they can and were fun to deal with...

My first experience was pretty good. As I stated below, I hired them to move me and that worked out just fine. Naturally, I called upon them again. My second experience was with a different team. For the most part, it was ok as they loaded. They were pretty friendly, but I noticed that this team was moving a lot slower than the last time. I was getting a little concerned on time since I budgeted for 4 hours. Towards the end, they were throwing couch cushions off my balcony to each other to avoid having to take the stairs and were just kind of lacking in organization and professionalism. Once they got to the new place, I insisted they just get everything unloaded and get done so I would only have to pay the $465 dollars for the 4 hours we estimated over the phone during the initial quote. I ended up having my 13 yr old son help them carry things and unload. At the end, I pointed out the console table they broke, the couch cushions and couch that had been drug across the ground and the condition of the items that I would have to move from room to room myself now that they ran out of time to put it away for me. The main guy was very argumenative and rude. He would not give me a discount off his rate and said I would have to wait for the office to call me after they examined the broken table. Well they never called. It's been 3 months now!! They never even issued me a credit for the broken items, let alone any kind of appology or courtesy for the experience I had. One star is not for their moving service it's for their customer service, and because I couldn't give zero star! I called them in first week of November to schedule my move for January 10 2015, and after we went thru detail on the phone I got an confirmation email for my move date, but couple days later I got another email from them saying 'confirmation email' in title of course I ignored the second email, but saved it for records thinking it's the same they just send out another one! On January 6 I got a call from them asking if I'm ready for my move tomorrow January 7 Wednesday, I was shocked so went back read the second email to see that they randomly changed my move date from Saturday Jan 10 to Wednesday Jan 7! And the best part is they didn't even accept that they made mistake they said they won't change the appointment unless they get call, so apparently I called them and changed my moving date to middle of week for a day that I don't even have the key to my new place! And the owner was upset because I got frustrated and got mad at them, I guess I should be pleased with what they did and thank them too, anyways I asked him if I get any discounts because of the mistake they made, and I was willing to change the time to later in Saturday Jan 10 to accommodate they mistake but the guy said NO it's the same full price! After that I found another company, they did a great job! And when I read all their reviews I guess I was lucky that I didn't let them to move my stuff! read more

I just used Donation Movers over this past weekend. Setting the appointment was easy with excellent communication. Their price was very reasonable and we were not disappointed with the service. Paul and 3 other guys got us from one home to the next quickly and efficiently. They wrapped all the furniture and were very careful and courteous. They also take all of your unwanted items to distribute to donation centers. I would recommend this company to anyone and would definitely use them again. read more

I've used this company twice and have them scheduled for a 3rd move for me in a week. You couldn't ask for a better mover. the movers are on time and incredibly courteous. They were fantastic with my kids when i'm sure they were mildly in the way and I've never seen anyone work so hard. The 3 men they sent each time were so incredibly hard working, I felt guilty at the low price and felt the need to pay extra. They're that good. In a time when every dollar counts and the economy is in the tank, I paid them more than I had to because of the wonderful service. This is the second time I use them. I'm a former Marine and like giving my business to a veteran owned small business that does a great job. Paul the owner is on top of things. The crew is on time and and no non-sense type guys, the move you quick! If you are looking for polished type guys and that's you main complaint... I feel bad for you. I look for movers that are respectful and care about your things. The both times they have moved me, they've done an outstanding job. I would recommend them as I did to a co-worker of my wife.
