It can be an anxiety ridden gamble when picking movers, but this company was really quick and easy to work with. We used them 7/20/19. On the day of our move they arrived on time, with a truck and a large trailer. They were very courteous, and super friendly; took direction very well and were respectful of all our items during the move. It took two trips to get all our stuff moved, but the movers were efficient and took less time than expected to move all our items from our storage unit and our apartment to our new home. Rude employees!! Returned to our apartment complex to find an "aardvark movers" truck/trailer blocking our assigned parking space. The driver had parked directly in front of the car ports, blocking in several vehicles. Who does that? After approaching the crew to let them know that they were blocking my parking space, a Spanish speaking only individual gave me a frustrated//confused look and motioned for his coworker, who spoke broken English to deal with me. A guy who seemed to be in charge of the move walked over and I informed him that they were blocking my parking space. The individual began to hesitate and give some vague explanation as to why that was his ideal choice in parking his truck/trailer. I explained the rules that moving vehicles are not allowed to block vehicles. I also suggested that they park away from the residents vehicles and began to explain the safety concern of residents who may have to leave in a time sensitive manner, or an emergency situation. Not to mention that it is common sense to not block in peoples vehicles for extended periods of time. The guy became argumentative and insisted that he was going to park there and then stop working and move the truck/trailer every time a resident needed to arrive/leave from their parking space. The guy began to escalate and his behavior became even ruder and ruder as the conversation proceeded. I tried again to tell him that "people need to be able to leave" and his reply was "who, you". This guy apparently has no sense of professionalism, customer service skills, or regard for the company's reputation. After realizing that there was no convincing this guy and that we were not going to reach an agreement (and to prevent any further arguments) I was left with no choice but to involve the property management and security After security contacted them and cleared, I had to leave again to run an errand only to find they were still blocking me in. I informed the driver of the truck/trailer that I needed to leave to run an errand and would be returning shortly. The crew moved the truck without issue, but when I returned home I exited my vehicle and began to walk to my apartment when one employee was walking past me appeared angry. As I was walking past him, the individual began to glare, or stare at me in a hostile manner perhaps in efforts to intimidate, or to provoke an argument or altercation, as I continued past him and went inside. Very unprofessional. My advice: Be Intellectually Honest -If you do lose your temper at work at some point, the professional thing to do is apologize and walk back the situation to a point where less-heated conversation can happen. Professionals aren't afraid to take responsibility and admit when they're wrong before a situation gets out of hand, and colleagues will respect you for it. Be a positive example to those looking up to you. Similarly, you shouldn't be afraid to admit you don't have all the answers by saying "I don't know," or by asking questions. True professionals are always eager to learn new things, and get a better understanding of what's expected of them. You would get a better response from people in general, i.e. people skills. A professional attitude can have its own benefits. When you go the extra mile with being more professional at work, you open up new opportunities. read more

Aldo and Sergio arrived promptly at 7:15 a.m. (I had a two hour window), and within minutes, yes, minutes, the upright piano was loaded on the truck (two story apartment to one-story home). The rest of the furniture loaded quickly and painlessly (well for me anyway). :) They were finished unloading the truck and placed my furniture in places I requested without any issues! No chips, nothing broken, nothing scratched. They were both very polite and speedy! I can't believe that from start to finish it was just about 3 1/2 hours. Once again Yelp did not let me down when trying to find a mover. Aardvark Movers definitely lives up to their yelp stars, 5 out of 5! When Ray and Sergio showed up they were all business. We had prepped as best we could to make the move as quick as possible by moving as much stuff to the front room of the house. They were prepared with blankets, straps and a plethora of dollies. With a buddy and my self help we moved a 3 bed 2 bath home across town in 3 hours, I don't mean to brag but that was quick! Aardvark really made the process much smother especially since Ray was a moving genius. Just one suggestions please be flexible regarding the timing when planning your move. Aardvark gives you a window of time that they will be there, but if your not the first move of the day they may be running behind. These guys are working really hard so the definitely need some slack. The other thing that was really nice was that you can pay buy card at the end which I thought was very convenient. My family recommended them from a total of 5 moves, so my expectations were high. Their pricing system is AWESOME! They respond quickly to inquiries, adapt to your schedule, and they were careful with my things. The guarantees are nice, too! I didn't worry about my belongings for a moment. The only complaint I have is that I had to repeat everything about ten times. I'm not exaggerating. It's hard to say whether it was due to language barrier or just extremely poor listening skills. I'd say both. Some people will micromanage movers anyway, but that is not my style and it added unexpected stress to an already stressful day. The people in the office are very nice and polite. I had a great experience with the people over the phone. The day I was moving it rained and there were puddles. The first crew came out and we drove to the new location and part of the sidewalk to my new apartment was under water. I was told that the movers "could not get their feet wet" and the move was rescheduled for the following day. The next morning a crew of three men showed up on time and had all of my belongings loaded into the truck in approximately one hour. Half a mile into the trip to the new apartment, their truck broke down. It took approximately two and a half hours for them to get another truck to the location, unload and reload my belongings into the new truck. Once they arrived at my new apartment it took them two and a half hours to unload the truck. While I had three active movers loading, only two of them seemed to be unloading. The guy who was the "lead" spent most of his time on his cell phone taking his time walking back and forth while the other two moved quickly and seemed intent on getting the job done. The pricing is reasonable and the office did keep me informed of the progress while the truck was broken down and did not charge me for this time, however, I don't believe that it was appropriate that the "lead" mover was slowing down the unloading process as they are paid by the hour. I would hope that it wasn't intentional, but there is no way to be certain. I will not use them again and I have told all my friends my experience when they asked: "how'd the move go". read more

Much to my great disappointment, I will not be using this company any longer. I recently moved, this was my third move using this company. Within a few minutes after the movers left, I noticed that the mirror to my bedroom dresser was not secure. When I pulled the dresser out a bit to get my hand behind the dresser to see if I could determine what was going on, the mirror fell forward almost hitting me and busting off of the support rails on the back. It was clear that the mirror had not been fastened properly or completely. When I contacted the owner, his lack of professionalism was rather surprising. Here's a sample of what he said to me: - he questioned whether or not I knew what I was talking about, and if I was sure; - that the plug behind the dresser is keeping the mirror from resting on the wall; - that the mirror has always been this way; - stated that the driver said that it was all good, etc. The owner said everything he could to avoid sending the movers back, even saying that they're very busy and it's hot out, and HE WILL LOSE MONEY, etc. Not exactly the epitome of customer service. And short-sighted on his part. Is the potential liability of any injury worth less than an hour of time on his books at $115 an hour? After standing my ground for what seemed like an eternity and insisting that he send some one back to fasten it properly as it was a potential hazard to me and liability to him, he finally reluctantly acquiesced. When the movers returned, the lead guy said that he knew that two screws were missing and proceeded to install and fasten them appropriately and completely. He also stated that he told the owner! 1. Why would any business owner jeopardize a relationship with a customer, let alone repeat customer? And also his reputation? 2. Why would the movers leave knowing that there were screws missing and not bring it to my attention and properly install the screws before leaving? And do so after my taking my $30 tip to each of the three movers assigned to my job? 3. What if I hadn't noticed the mirror immediately and it fell on me days later? What excuse would he have given then? Would he have charged me a service charge? I will not be contacting this company again. Very disappointing. Consider yourselves forewarned. read more

Aldo and his team got right to work and had my family's 3 bedroom apartment safely packed up in just over an hour, and moved everything into our new house in a total of 2.5 hours. I was very pleased with this moving company! I recently moved into a new house and acquired their services. They had very reasonable rates. Upon arrival at my house, they were on time and friendly. They went over my inventory sheet and did not try to make any changes to my quoted price! This has to be a first for me! During the move they were very gentle with my possessions and seemed to care. We recently had a moving truck unloaded into a storage unit. The move only took an hour with 3 men, but we had to pay for two hours minimum, which was expected. I just wish that the additional $105 for the second hour could have gone to the movers as an additional tip. They were AWESOME!!! They moved quickly, were careful not to damage anything, and they worked like a well rehearsed musical. Super fast and efficient. The main guy, Edward, was super friendly and took everything in stride, with a great attitude (like when i kept forgetting other items that needed to be loaded at the last minute). He called when he was on his way, as requested, and they showed up at the very tail end of the promised window. He had two helpers with him and really i would like to give 4.5 stars because, of three items i had wrapped and marked "Fragile", one of the helpers pushed a fragile item to the side with his foot as he was trying to get out the door with the couch. Not the way you should treat something marked "fragile" but then again, I am not sure what the spanish language word for fragile is, so he may not have known. 4.5 stars. Affordable. $225 for 2hours and there was NO lollygagging. These guys HUSTLE. And it was SUPER hot out. read more

I would NOT recommend this moving company. I had stacked everything I did not want moved into the bathroom of the master bedroom. There was absolutely no room in there. While they were packing, the guy asked where the other guy was. I said I didn't know. After they had left, I found out he had used my bathroom. COMPLETELY STUNK IT UP!!! I was thoroughly disgusted! These guys were awesome. I had a really bad experience with the last moving company I used so when choosing this time I actually did some research and looked at reviews. I called a few moving companies that had decent reviews but the reason I chose Aardvark is because they quoted us a trip fee that was about $30 less than the other moving companies. Seth, Eddie and Sergio showed up on time and also called 30 minutes beforehand to let us know they were on their way. We were moving out of a 2 story 4 bedroom house, on a 110 degree day, and these guys worked fast and efficiently together and were accommodating to our requests. They had tons of blankets and shrink wrap so none of our furniture or art was damaged. When they were done unloading everything they wrote up our invoice and there were no extra charges and we paid what we were quoted based off the trip fee and hourly rate. My wife and I took a week off from work to pack up our 1680 sq ft patio home. I took more than 20 boxes of fragile stuff, clothing, and loose items over during the week. Everything else was packed up in boxes, labeled and ready to roll. Not a lot of furniture and only a washer and dryer for appliances. I even broke down all the beds except one - which has taken me 15 minutes tops in the past to disassemble and 30 minutes tops to reassemble. I really wanted this experience to be a good one and we did everything we could to set the movers up for success. Single-story home to single-story home 3 miles away. The booking process was solid, customer service over the phone was friendly and I received a confirmation email. All very good. The guys who moved us were very nice. I really liked them. However, it took nearly 14 hours to get the job done. And this amount of time really wouldn't have been an issue if I was quoted something in that ballpark. But I wasn't. Not even close. Again, the guys, while very nice, moved REALLY slowly. It's summer in Phoenix. Hot. But I paid by the hour. So "slow" costs me money. If you're considering using Aardvark, I'd suggest taking more time to nail down a quote. I was pretty shocked by the final dollar amount. read more

I have moved a lot. I mean a lot!! In the past 5 years, I have used Aardvark Movers 3 times, yes, I have moved 3 times in 5 years!! Every. Single. Time. I have received excellent service. Here's what happened January 2017. First, Damon came to my house to give me an estimate. He was so honest about his concerns and about the possibility that I would need 2 trucks. He and his movers discussed my move and made sure that they would be prepared to pack as tightly as possible to prevent that from happening. Damon was always so polite and courteous and accessible on cell phone/text. Great customer service. A+ for Damon. Next, Kathy confirmed my move, she was lovely, kind, answered questions for me and got back to me in a timely manner with answers. A+ for Kathy. Then, I was scheduled for pick-up between 7-9am and Edward and his team showed up at 7:10!!! What moving company shows up on time?! I'll be honest, I thought I would have at least another hour to pack! So I was a little stressed! :) Edward walked around the house with me and we discussed a few things. Then at 7:15 the team got to work and they were so unbelievably fast and efficient and polite, my head was spinning at how quickly my entire 4 bedroom house was being emptied. They helped load a few personal items into my van and my car. They said goodbye and we met up at the destination 2 hours away. I was delayed because I had to lock up the old house and pick up keys and sign papers for the new house. When I finally arrived, Edward and the team already had the truck partially unloaded in the driveway. I opened the door with my new key and they flew right in assembling beds, bringing in boxes, taking things up and down stairs. A+ for Edward and the team. Oh and one last thing, they take credit cards on the day of the move. No deposit. No cashier's check. Such a clean transaction. Moving is one of the most stressful life events ever. Alleviate some of the stress by using reliable, courteous, reasonably priced, efficient movers. August 2018 - I moved AGAIN! This time from one location in Sedona to another. I can't tell you how happy I was when I called Damon's office and he called me back saying, "absolutely they would handle my move." Since Aardvark moved me last spring and did such a wonderful job, I naturally called them for my upcoming move. I am moving the same items less a heavy dining room set with 4 chairs, although adding a lightweight coffee table and matching end table. Additionally instead of moving 28 miles away like last year, I am literally moving 4 miles down the street. Imagine my surprise when they gave me a quote of $30 more than last year. The price of gas is down and I'm moving less items, so I asked about this and the nice gal I spoke with said she would check with someone and call me back. Three days later and no call so decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and called them back. The lady I spoke to, not the same woman I spoke to a few days earlier, was not entirely friendly and put me on hold twice. After the first time, she explained that I was moving more items than last year then proceeded to list the items I moved last year. I told her that was the original list but that I had updated it about a week before I moved. She then said that I must have added things at the last minute and that they didn't charge me extra for it. I did no such thing and begged to differ with her but then she put me on hold again, this time for well over 5 minutes. I was very frustrated and had to get back to work so I hung up. I was extremely disappointed that they were not as helpful as last year so I felt the need to update my review and give them one star. No one has bothered to call me back with an explanation as to why this year's move would be so much more and they certainly do have my phone number. I used these guys to move into the condo I'm in right now about a year ago. I picked them because they had good reviews. However I had some problems which is why I'm not using them again for this move I'm doing next week. First of all they were scheduled to show up at noon but they came half an hour early, even though I stressed that I wasn't ready and it was a cluster f-ck because I was just getting in the way. They also found a short extension cord attached to a fake fireplace and decided that for whatever reason to place it randomly inside the tank of my coffee pot, which I didn't know they did that until I went to make coffee the next day and discovered it ruined after being submerged in hot water. It had a lightbulb that flashed red to make the fireplace appear real and I have no idea where to find a replacement because this is a really unique item that they ruined. The last thing that made me upset is they put my dresser upside down on the dolley and broke off a piece from the bottom without telling me. I had to nail back in because it made the dresser wobbly and unstable. The only good about this company is that it wasn't too terribly expensive. read more

I recently hired Aardvark Movers to load up my rented 15 ft. trailer for a 3-bed, 2-bath 1500 sq. ft house with all the assorted furniture you'd expect. I'd actually used Aardvark several years previously for an in-town move within Phoenix, and they did such a great job that I decided to go with them again. This time they continued to live up to the high standard set as before, and I was very happy to arrive in Colorado Springs with all of my belongings and furniture intact with no damage. With a big move from Phoenix to Colorado Springs, I wanted to make sure everything was loaded carefully- and they were both efficient in doing so but careful, too. Also, the U-Pack quote required that they fit all my stuff into 15 ft. or there would be an additional charge incurred per foot. In looking at all my stuff, I wasn't sure they'd be able to fit it into the 15 feet- I told the lead Aardvark loader this and somehow he and the other 2 guys managed to make it fit (and without breaking anything)! The 3 guys really seemed to know what they were doing and were very professional the whole time (showed up on time, worked hard, completed the job with time to spare, friendly, etc.)- and went above and beyond in wrapping with green plastic a few of my items that they thought would benefit from that extra protection. My only complaint is that I wish they had services available outside of AZ, otherwise I would have hired them to do all aspects of my move! :) Also, the receptionist I spoke with for the quote was super-helpful and friendly- it seems like it might be a family-owned business because they really know their stuff and gave me a perfectly accurate quote over the phone with no hidden fees or surprises.
