I highly recommend this company to move. I needed a futon, weight bench, and Queen size bed moved from downtown Phoenix to Avondale. The owner Ralph gave me 2 choices; he could send 2 guys and a moving truck, or he and I could load his truck. I chose the cheaper option which was him and I move the items. He texted me the night before I moved to confirm and he showed up 15 minutes early the next day. He also brought another guy with him so I didn't have to help with the move like we originally planned. Furthermore I had a small entertainment center that I couldn't fit in my Honda civic and the actual bar for my weight bench couldn't fit in my car safely either. I asked Ralph if we can move those 2 additional items and he was cool with it. My 5 items made it safely to my new residence. And they placed the items where I needed them to be placed. Treated my 83 yr old mom like a queen, as she watched her home of 22 yrs. disappear from a 3 bedrm, 2 bath, two-story condo into her new digs, which required an elevator. I needed a last minute move and the team was more than willing to help! They were VERY efficient, worked hard, and were extremely respectful with my belongings. Overall the service was great (according to my parents) I wasn't there because I was working during the move. But according to my parents the two workers were nice,friendly & very attentive. The only hick up I had was towards the end when it came time to pay. I was charge for 3hr even thou they they took 2 & 20 minutes. I'm a detail person that likes everything in writing (including quotes!), and took a leap of faith based on Yelp reviews, and my gut feeling in working with him by phone. This is one of those times that the trust factor really paid off. We had a four man team that showed up on time as promised, and they absolutely worked their tails off. These guys were well organized, strong, mindful of the time and respectful of both us and our belongings. Sincerely appreciate Remington, Brandis, Simon and our mover #4 (apologies, I can't remember everyone's names, but #4 was a rock star too!). The guys who helped us move were very nice. But they decided to stop for gas when they were going to my new house. And decided to count stopping for gas within our move part of the hour we were charged. In the price we paid for gas ahead of time and should have been full before the trip. Customers beware and discuss anything gas related and when it can be done. Putting in gas shouldn't be done during move at all. read more

First off Ralph was definitely old school yet strictly professional, he returned my calls promptly & gave me an honest, reasonable quote without trying to rob me like some of these other companies!! We contacted Ralph via Yelp to get pricing on a local (10 mile) move. They came in with the best price of the five we contacted. Two movers showed up early and immediately began work. We did most of the packing and had moved most of the boxes do all that remained was furniture and appliances. The guys were quick but slowed a little as fatigue must have set in toward the end if the move. The final price was under what we budgeted so that was a blessing. We'd suggest laying down carpet protection before they start as there was little regard or care taken to keep from tracking dirt on freshly cleaned carpet. Two broken legs, one on an older faux grandfather clock and a wheel off a BBQ grill. Neither was brought to our attention but were insignificant because they were old. Our dresser was wrapped tightly to prevent the drawers from opening but the mover then loaded it on to the dolly upside down! Fortunately there wasn't more in it. We had them drop most of the furniture in the living room because we weren't sure how to arrange it. They did place other rooms where we asked. Our 3 bedroom house took about 5 hours which is what we expected. read more

I called Monday to get help with a office move out. They scheduled for Thursday 8AM. They told me 2 men 2 hours $195. they were a NO-show by around 11 AM I called to ask where they were? The guy that answered the phone said he would find out what happened and get back to me, He never did. To say the least I would not recommend them. I was moving from TN to AZ. I did a yelp search and found Active Movers. I called and spoke to Ralph. From the very first conversation, he was wonderful to work with. Moving from out of state is stressful, and Ralph helped ease that stress. He put up with all of my phone calls and texts, and never made me feel like I was bothering him. Ralphs price is right and his work is fantastic. Once we got all of my stuff in to the house, we realized that I had the wrong connection for my dryer. His assistant Carlos offered to go to Home Depot and get the correct parts and install it for me. His price was excellent for this as well. I wish I could give zero stars. They called at the last minute (as in 28 minutes before they were supposed to show up) to tell me they would be late and may be sending someone else; I should get a call from another company shortly. An hour goes by, nothing. I call back. Still nothing from this other company until we called the owner an hour later. So now I've been pawned off on a different company I know nothing about, who couldn't even be bothered to call me, and Active Movers is ignoring our calls. No offer of a discount. Nothing to make this right. Just "sorry but we sent the job to someone else so it's out of our hands now". Extremely poor service. I will never, ever use or recommend this company again. Edit: come to find out, the company they "use all the time" (to farm out jobs it appears they just didn't want) has TERRIBLE reviews and an F rating with BBB. Why? Well it may have a lot to do with their shady business practices. They finished, told us the amount due, and we paid. 30 minutes later their owner is calling us to hassle us for more money. Two hours after we squared that away he's calling, yet again, because he wants his payment in a different format. This has been the absolute worst experience I've ever had moving, and the person responsible for this entire mess? Ralph of Active Movers. What a sh*tty thing to do - to accept a job, cancel at the minute, and then pawn your customer off on what is clearly a very questionable moving service. Way to go on the old bait and switch Active Movers. Clearly your 4.8 stars are google are NOT well deserved since you appear to be in the practice of pawning customers off on a company with 1.8 stars that harass people for more money after they've already left and been paid. read more
