Ordered takeout on a week night around 5 PM. We ordered shredded beef taquito appetizer, an ala cart kids,, bean, and cheese burrito where I specifically asked for no rice and beans. Two chicken tacos and a combo meal with chips and salsa. I asked that all the condiments for the taquitos go on the side. when we got the food. The portion size was good. However, the kids being a cheese burrito was covered in cheese and and was unable to be picked up to eat they still gave him beans and rice, which fine I'll take the extra food. when I opened up the appetizer taquitos, the sour cream and green avocado sauce were smeared all over the entire box so much so that the taquitos were extremely soggy. They ignored my request to put the condiments on side. We got a nice large bag of chips with no salsa. The combo meal we ordered came with taquitos and a tostada, but the tostada was more like a mini taco salad it was definitely not a typical tostada it was a bowl shaped fried flour tortilla I'm not sure what happened there. Breaded chicken tacos were pretty good but got dry quickly because there was no salsa to add to them. All in all the overall service was okay but I really wish they took more care and packing our food. The money I spent on takeout is the same money I would spend going in overall I will return but it's not my first choice. read more

it was all right. the rice was good, but i didn't much like the dark meat chicken in the arroz con pollo. it was a good dish, and the tortillas were good, but i wasn't expecting it and there was some gristle. the ranchero sauce on it was pretty yummy. the salsa was tasty, with nice warm tortilla chips. and my companion said the mango margarita was very good and sweet. it looked like a very nice texture. the service was also awesome, very nice and quite fast. it was not too busy on wednesday night just before close. the interior was fine. read more

How do you eat fajitas to go without tortillas? This establishment does not expo food orders!!! At $18 a pop, the owner/manager doesn't feel more than an apology is necessary. Gabe said he could discount the tortillas next time I place an order LOL Apparently discounting half the bill since I could only eat half my meal doesn't make sense to them. Really?? And what is worse is how their waitress Nancy speaks above and over you on the phone!! She also said Gabe is the owner and manager for all locations, which is a lie. First and last time here unless I get a full refund!!! I'm willing to remove my post then and only then. Funny how Gabe (the owner??) has lost the receipt from my order placed with the older waiter Caesar, but they were able to fully charge my card...just a sorry will not suffice. Great place to come for happy hour, brunch, and taco Tuesday. Free chips & salsa! They are very generous with their pours, so the drinks will have you feeling right. Brunch is a good deal they have bottomless mimosas, but it does get pretty packed fast. So make sure to go early. Tacos Tuesday also gets packed but the tacos are made with homemade tortillas and they always have some extra fixings on the side like grilled peppers, 4-5 different salsas, and cucumbers with Chile. You get 3 very yummy tacos for $4.95. I know you may find tacos cheaper else where but I doubt they would taste as good. The service could be a little better, but I have always visited when they are supper busy so that might just be it. read more

Great Sunday brunch.... Really loved the menudo, the best I've had here in Bako. My omelette made for me at the omelette bar looked terrible. "What happened to it?" My fiancé asked, "it must be his first day." Lol... I put chicken chili verde sauce on mine and it tasted just delicious despite how it looked. That's what matters anyway. No egg white omelettes. That's okay.... Anthony really liked the chicken chili verde also. Also terrific taco bar with fresh tortillas and delicious fresh things to add. Loved the green avocado cilantro sauce.... Saw a mango margarita and remarked to Anthony how good it looked and he surprised me by ordering one when I went back for more food... I drank it too quickly though and got the brain freeze. Service is the best; very attentive, helpful and pleasant. Wasn't very crowded, no wait.... At least when we got here at 9:45ish. It got busier about 11:00. Not fancy, but Nice relaxing brunch. Highly recommend, especially if you want something more informal, lots of food and family friendly. First of all I liked this place for brunch on Sundays the prices went up ok that's fine but me and the fam were put in the corner when there were closer seats. Since we're in a corner we did not get refills on our drinks I had to walk up to them flag them down we needed napkins it took forever for someone to come so I went up to them again but seen napkins so grabbed some. So I got the bill I signed for a specific price which included all the taxes and fees tell me why it just cleared with my bank and it's a different price and higher. Why are they adding to my bill after I signed for the price already. Once you sign that paper with the amount it shows they have no right to change that price not cool I'm done with that place. read more

I have been going to Don Perico's for years. I used to go there at least 1 or 2 times a week. Over time this place has really started going downhill. The food is mediocre but the service is getting worse. Tonight was another night of bad service. My sister in law and I sat for over 20 minutes before our waitress even came to our table...and that wasn't until I asked another waitress to take our order and she went and got our waitress. After we ordered, we saw her one time with our drinks and didn't see her again until we asked the other waitress again for our check. It seems every time I go there, the service gets worse and worse. As I sit here drinking this angel made marg in my backyard after finishing the most delicious dinner we've had all week, I can't help but reminisce on how easy to order and the pick up was! To say I'm impressed would be an understatement. They make you feel like family, which I think we all need, especially right now during this social distancing! I really don't wanna leave a bad review....I'm just going to be honest. I don't even know where to begin, I suppose the tortillas they had no flavor whatsoever. The Chili Verde was horrible I think they used flower in the sauce I don't know but it was the worst Mexican food ever. It was very busy and we seen our waitress no more then 2 minutes added all up from the 2 1/2 times we seen her..! I'm not exaggerating. The one thing I can say is the water was amazing.. Sadly everything else about this establishment is simply okay at it's best. My favorite part about this place was reading all the other terrible reviews, at least they're consistent. This was my third go around with Don Perico's. I can't remember how long ago the first time was, but I've been here twice within the last month. Once for lunch and once for dinner. My brief summary for this spot is it's just okay. The positives are the margaritas are GREAT. They have the right amount of alcohol for sweet and sour. On Wednesday's they have a deal on them. And who doesn't love cheap margaritas? Also the shrimp tacos are great. You get free chips and salsa which is pretty standard. I like that they have chunky salsa and not the watery kind. The negatives were mostly during our dinner experience. The server rushed us. I had tried to order soup to start but he said, "if you get a combination you get soup." I ordered the chicken chimichanga combo with tortilla soup. Gary got two shrimp tacos. The server comes to tell me there is no more soup. This had me slightly annoyed given I made the request known, but I figured no big deal. I got a house salad. I knew it was small, but it came DOUSED in ranch and had water all on the bottom. It was just water ranch dressing and some lettuce pieces. The chimichanga left a lot to be desired. No sauce for it and when I requested a sauce the server acted annoyed. It was a Friday night, but it was VERY loud due to music. You could hardly hear the person next to you. I expect restaurants to kick it up Fridays but this was a bit much. Side note: I'm also a huge queso fan and when we went there for lunch gave it a try. It was not good at all. The cheese wasn't creamy and most of it wasn't even melted. It would be great if they offered the option to put in chorizo or something to kick up the flavor. Very bland. Summary: We'll probably go back for the margaritas and shrimp tacos when we don't want to get too far from home, but that is about it. read more

Went to brunch this afternoon and was promptly greeted by staff members and sat down. Went and got my food from a buffet-style setting and the food was what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. I enjoy this restaurant. It's a busy place so you have to be ready for that. Almost every time i've gone near the service has been good. One time, I got a sampler platter, and the chicken was undercooked. Is an honest mistake. The great thing was that they made it right. They offered to remake my whole platter. In the end they gave me my food for free. I was with a few other people, and we tipped them really well. They were totally apologetic and polite. Every time I go there, i'm greeted at the door with smiles and friendly people. They work hard. You can tell that they could be grouchy if they wanted to be. It's crazy how far some good service goes these days. Most places aren't like that anymore. Most mexican restaurants aren't even worth the money they're charging for their food now. Any time I am in town and need some mexican food, I go to this particular restaurant. The food is good and the service makes me happy. read more

I'm told taco Tuesday is worth the trip, but with the uproar of noise in the bar, I'm not likely to want to try it if it's that crowded. The pozole was bland and had chunks of chicken breast instead of pork. The pico de gallo with avocado was non existent and we had to ask for chips and salsa which tasted like pace picante. I always enjoy great Mexican food. The Chili Colorado is really delicious. The meat is really soft. The Chili sauce is perfect with spices and not too spicy, but flavorful.
