With our favorite brunch spot in Canton closed, Dom's Broad Street was recommended to us by a friend. We checked it out a few weeks ago. A small wait at 10 o'clock is a good sign. Once you were sat we were greeted with a friendly cuppa coffee and a full menu. By full, I mean tons of omelettes breakfast sandwiches and Benedict style eggs. I had the pancakes, which were three huge plate sized beasts, hot and fluffy with enough butter to soak them all. My wife had an omelette which was cooked to perfection. Not runny and not browned. Looking around it was a mixture of regulars, new diners such as myself, and a warm, cozy atmosphere that you would expect from a New England eatery. We will definitely be back. read more

Put our name in for a table for 3 at about 11 am on Sunday and we were seated in about 5-10 min. Food was very good - got Tenderloin Benedict which came with home fries and my daughter got the chocolate chip pancakes. I gave 3 stars, though, because service was really slow. Our server was very nice and apologized for being so busy that she was not around much, but I never got a refill on my coffee (waited about 15 minutes before I had a chance to ask for a second cup and it never came) and we waited a bit for the check too. Wonder Wife and I are in Connecticut so she can attend the International Guild of Miniature Artisans show (http://www.igma.org/guild_show/index.html). This is a completely unnecessary boost to her Adorability Factor. We checked Yelp for breakfast places, saw the ratings and had to check this place out. Glad we did! First off - the coffee is fantastic. Our server let us know they recently switched to Omar's coffee and we even asked about which roast it was so we could order online (Breakfast Blend or Colombian) for enjoying at home. Wonder Wife had the French toast and I had The Eatery which is two slices of bacon, two links of sausage, two pancakes, two eggs, home fries, biscuit/toast and coffee. I also ordered a side of country gravy so I could try that on the biscuit. Now, this is WAY too much food, but I figured - "Hey, I don't even like home fries, so won't eat that anyway." - and other such justifications. The truth is, I really don't like home fries that much. Most have too much onion and the potatoes are too firm, but these are soft and have just a touch of onion and a touch of bacon and are incredible. So, I tried to pawn off as much on Wonder Wife as I could. The pancakes are some of the best I've had, the biscuits taste homemade and the gravy is very good, too... although, it could use a touch of sage. Price? The whole bill was $17-ish. Amazing! I had never eaten at Dom's before, but had them cater my husband's 50th birthday at a local brewery. The barbecue buffet was amazing. All 50 people at the party raved about it. A must try for Hartford County residents and visitors! Dom's is a Windsor staple and well known for its expansive breakfast menu. I grew up visiting for the occasional weekend breakfast out, a tradition I've continued as an adult. Service is always top notch, even during the weekend breakfast rush. The eatery has a classic feel, is well maintained and clean. My favorite menu items include: biscuits and gravy, Belgian waffle, eggs Benedict and a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Dom's is not so much a restaurant as a dining event akin to the Stage Deli or the former Carnegie Deli both of whom have/had such wonderful names for their menu items. My choice was the Veggie Scrambled, three eggs, tomatoes, onions, spinach, asparagus, mushrooms with goat cheese nothing sort of excellent; the home fries are about as good as you will find, great flavor with a crispy crunch. This review is solely based on the service, as we were never seated. Came in with my wife this morning, we were the only people in the register area, besides a gentleman who was paying his bill. No one made eye contact with us, two other parties that came in behind us were seated while we were ignored. I spoke up and said, "excuse me, two for breakfast". One waitress looked back over her shoulder as she led an elderly couple to their table and said she had two tables. Was I suppose to follow her and the other patrons ? No clue, I wasn't interested in becoming part of their chaos, so I looked at my wife and we left. If they are that disordered in the Front, you have to wonder what would be going on in the kitchen. I know I wasn't interested in finding out, we had already been disrespected for several minutes at that point. I've got to say all the reviews are spot on. Came in for breakfast on Saturday and they were packed! I waited about 15-20 minutes which really wasn't a big deal since I was expecting the wait. They do a very good job on seating and keeping it moving fairly well. I had plain omelet with well done home fires and a bowl of chili. All of it was done well although it probably could have been a bit hotter. I'm guessing it sat for a few minutes before it was brought out. Again it was good and not too big of a deal. My only complaint would be once seated and I got my order I didn't see the server again until I was ready to go so I needed to wave down another server for a second cup of coffee. I used to frequent Dom's pretty regularly for lunch with my coworkers when I worked up the street and miss their huge portions and delicious homestyle meals. My family and I were looking for a brunch spot and stopped into Dom's. I was happy to see things haven't changed and all is still great. Although there was a wait as there were a ton of people in the restaurant (it was Saturday afternoon, after all), one can easily attest the wait and the crowd to the great food and service. We were seated sooner than the quoted wait time and had an awesome waitress. My husband and I each ordered The Eatery Special and for $11.99, were able to get a waffle (no extra charge), 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, toast, hash browns and coffee (he ordered an OJ). Every last bit of my meal was delicious. Everything was cooked amazingly well; the waffles were perfect (no soggy or burned waffles here), eggs medium well (not over easy or over hard), the meats cooked to perfection (the bacon was to die for!) and everything else just fantastic. Our waitress was so kind and attentive despite having a lot of tables. The best part? Despite being a family of five, our bill was more than reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise. LOVE this place! The staff here is so incredibly nice and patient, even through the rough rush hour. My friend and I had a new waitress, but she did an awesome job. Glad I found this cute diner! It was Sunday brunch time and we were starving, but didn't feel like wasting time with a long drawn out meal. We got here around 12:15 and there were a couple groups waiting ahead of us. Even so, they move quickly and there is a fair amount of seating, so we only had to wait for about 10 minutes. We were seated towards the back right of the restaurant which was nice since we were against the wall. A server quickly came over and asked what we would like to drink. Within a minute or so after we had our coffees and waters. We're eggs benny people, so I ordered the classic and my bf ordered the California. My egg was perfectly cooked, not too hard or soft. And their hollandaise is good!! The benny had not 2 but 3 pieces of Canadian bacon, and came with a large side of home fries that were crispy and delicious. The portions here are great if you're hungry. My bf loved the California and ate the whole thing. Our waitress was not around too often since it was busy, but she was friendly and checked on us. I've been visiting Dom's for breakfast over the past several years and I've never had a bad meal. My sister and I always choose an eggs Benedict (there are many different options) and one other menu item to split. We've yet to be disappointed! Our most recent visit was this morning and we discovered that they now offer chicken and waffles. Instead of bone-in chicken, our waffle came with two super crispy chicken breasts which made it easier to eat and every bit of waffle had some chicken with it. So good! I tried the "award winning" chili but was disappointed. It was watery and lacked any distinct flavors or tastes that would make it something to draw attention to on the menu. My cheese steak omelette was good. It was a decent size and had a fair amount of filling. I've had better omelettes and better cheese steak omelettes before at other establishments. I'd order something different next time. My wife enjoyed her chicken and waffles, especially because the chicken was two big, flat cutlets.
