Veronica and Diane's bakery operates on a "preorder" model, so their cookies, cupcakes, cream puffs, cake pops, scones and cannolis should be preordered by the dozen. Much of their business revolves around absolutely gorgeous made to order customized wedding and special occasion cakes and pies. They have close to thirty different cake flavors across the entire spectrum of yumminess. Here's the scoop on the flavor groups: "Classics" that include Chocolate, Vanilla, Red Velvet, and more. A "Fun & Delicious" line that includes among others Tangy Pink Lemonade, Pineapple Crush, Zesty Limeade, Maple Pancake, and Cinnamon Maple Four "Kids Favorites" of Sweet S'more, Cookie Dough Core, Cotton Candy, and Dreamsicle And some very intriguing booze flavors "For Adults" of Espresso Pubcake (made with Guiness beer), Rum & Coke, Lime Margarita, and Tequila Sunrise. On Friday and Saturday, they may have some cupcakes and cannolis for individual sale, so after a few text messages, I arranged to swing by and get 2 of each. While inside the store, I saw dozens of freshly baked cupcakes awaiting their custom "to order" icings, and two freshly baked stunning special occasion cakes awaiting pickup. We bought two chocolate chip cannolis, a chocolate cupcake, and a vanilla cupcake. We just finished scarfing down the cannolis. They were amazing! The filling wasn't super sweet, the chocolate chips were plentiful, and the shell was crispy and crunchy. A definite A+ of a cannoli. We will exercise some will power and share the cupcakes for tomorrow, but no doubt they will be equally stellar. Even with the golden delicious branded syrup upcharge the bill was only 12 dollars. Which is very affordable given the quality was not so great. As a generic diner, it does basic dishes well enough. There's not a ton of breakfast spots around, so it does well as that local greasy spoon. Doesn't need to be fancy, cause it's one of the few places in town and they are serviceable. I wouldn't drop by on my travels, but if you need cheap eats then this place will fit the bill

As someone who treks a lot around the state, I find that there are many bakeries that do similar if not better items for comparable if not lower prices. But to ask someone to drive 30-60 minutes just to get something a couple bucks cheaper that's tastes about the same? It's a hard sale. I will say that Luanne's is the best in that area of the state, not including the small boutique places that are well off the beaten path. I still come here for the view and ambiance, but I don't order much of their food.

But what I like the best, even more than the customary "Hello big boss!" greeting that I (and probably 42 other not-so-big bosses) get, is the dogged determination to create and deliver a needed, wanted product despite some not-so-small odds.
