The best shawarma I've had in VA! A hidden gem in the heart of McLean - perfect for breakfast and lunch. They make delicious sandwiches, salads, and sides. I've tried shawarma in many places in the area, but their beef and chicken shawarmas are truly the best I've had in a long time. The meat is tender and flavorful. Just tried out this little carryout in the middle of McLean. Had this special they have right now on Mondays. Philly Roast pork sandwich sharp provolone with garlic spinach and also they have longhots! It was delicious and very filling. The sandwich was a messy one but in a good way. The sandwich wasn't too salty and everything worked well. Will definitely check out the burger specials in the weekends. read more

I usually don't leave reviews but my god, this place is so SO SO GOOD!! I come here every Saturday and always get the A1 (Philly cheesesteak) with extra cheese and wow, so delicious. The bread is nice and chewy and the meat is so nicely seasoned, (not too salty and not bland) mixed with green peppers, mushrooms, hot melted provolone cheese, wow I'm full but my mouth is watering just thinking about it. It's one of the things I look most forward to on Saturdays after a long week. read more

I had a craving for good ole French Fries. I stopped by here -- and picked up some yummy crinkle fries. The couple that works here are really so nice and friendly. The prices are low, and the fries were delicious. I will definitely be coming back, want to try their sandwiches next time! read more

When arriving at this little shop on the corner the expectations are not very high. Once going inside the menu is spread out on pieces of paper all over the place, due to adding and removing available products. There is no seating except for a picnic table outside, and "standing" along the counter across from where the food is prepped. All that being said, this place is called and designed to be a carry out! The husband and wife duo are always happy to see you, even if they are swamped with orders, and the food is great! I recommend getting there for breakfast sandwich or for lunch you can't go wrong with a cheese steak or Spring Hill Sub. My only real complaint is their hours of operation. Not open Sundays or evenings. Which I understand because the same three people work there every day. Have been a patron for years and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon! read more

This place is overpriced for some pretty bad food. The only thing to get here is the steak and cheese which its touted for, but really its not even that good. A lot of the food you can even see them take out of the freezer when they prepare it for you. Really the only good thing about this place is the french fries, which are actually really really filling, but delicious. Otherwise, I'd stay away and go to Sweet Stuff which is just near by, right next to the 7 11. read more

Spring Hill Carry Out is a hole in the wall located on the corner of Spring Hill Road and Old Dominion Drive (next to the Chevron). I have been here twice so far and the basic gist of the place is short order grill food to go. The menu is pretty simple with your standard grill fair consisting mostly of hot sandwiches. The first time I was there was for lunch. I got a cheese steak with fried onions and hot peppers. The meat was good, the cheese was good, the onions were ok, but the roll was good. What made it even better (for me) was the hot peppers were in fact red flake pepper that sits in vinegar similar to what you find in Thai restaurants. I also ordered fries and a drink. The quantity of fries was generous but they were lousy. They were undercooked and the cooking oil left an unpleasant after taste. The drink was a huge behemoth (32 oz maybe) from the fountain. The cost was about $9. When I stopped in for breakfast, I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a kaiser roll. There was plenty of crispy bacon on the sandwich along with a freshly cooked sunny side up egg, and a standard slice of prepackaged cheese. I also ordered some home fries which were nothing more than frozen season home fries heated up on the grill. Once again there was a large quantity but the quality suffers. They were better than the French fries. The coffee was down right horrible. This was on par with construction trailer coffee. Watered down, and burnt. Next time I will either get an OJ or nothing. The cost was about $6.50. 3.5 Stars, would be 4 if the potato sides were better. Will stop in next time I am driving by. read more

Greasy Spoon. Old, dilapidated building, pretty dirty inside... but THAT IS THE CHARM of this place. Hyun and his wife have owned and operated this place for 20+ years. Only open till 3pm each day, closed Sunday. Stop in for a breakfast burrito... or for lunch... we ONLY order the chicken philly... the BEST AROUND for hundreds of miles. Remember, greasy spoon, don't knock it for what it is. They have crinkle-cut french fries that are double fried, just to die for. Only come eat if you have the daily calories (and cholesterol) to spare, but a delightful treat on dieting cheat days. read more

I skipped a trip to the dry cleaners in order to make sure I got to the restaurant in plenty of time before they closed at 3pm. Me and my daughter arrived at 2:47. We got out of the car and went to the door and the owners waived us away. I explained we had gone out of our way to get there before closing and did not appreciate them closing early. One owner was counting money at the cash register and the other was cleaning the grill. I asked them why they had decided to close early and they just ignored my and shook their heads from side to side. I have no idea why they took me and my family's business for granted like this ... we live nearby have patronized the place on many occasions. But going forward they will not get our business again ... you only get to be rude to me and then ignore me once! read more
