Its always amazing to me how quick i get my food regardless of how packed it is in here. I can always find a table and the patio ambiance is a 10/10. This Croatian cafe is a hidden gem in chicago. One of my favorites.
What a delightful breakfast sandwich. Their special is their house "hot" sauce that's not spicy and provides an incredible rare and authentic flavor. Their hash browns are to die for. I am so glad to have stumbled upon this place and it will be my go to for breakfast sandwiches going forward. The service was quick and the plan had a lot of open seating inside and out!
The fluffiest muffin for a breakfast sandwich for sure!!! Crazy thick incredible bacon. Nice vibes and service was great! Had to check this off the list for places to eat but will be back!
Love the ambiance. Super cozy patio area. Tasty food and coffee. Especially enjoyed the breakfast Sammy.
I got a delivery order that consisted of the sausage egg and cheese, hash brown, and the seeded honey granola & yogurt. The SEC was good but maybe a bit overhyped. The hot sauce is money and the eggs were probably the 2nd best part - super fluffy and the cheese is perfectly melty. The sausage was lackluster though. Nothing special about the patty & it was pretty small (it didn't fill up the entire sandwich). The hash brown was good - I loved the honey mustard! However, it could've been crispier. The yogurt bowl had a great balance of flavors. The cherry compote and house made granola was awesome. However, I think the portion was kinda small for the price. Everything here is kinda overpriced for what you get. While good, I'm not sure I'll order from here again considering how $ it is and how I wasn't blown away by any of the offerings.
There's usually a huge line here because they're known for their breakfast sandwiches. The sandwich was solid, just had a little too much sauce for me. 7.5/10. The hashbrown tasted homemade and was pretty good. 7/10. The cevapi was okay, nothing special. 6/10. The Earl Grey milk tea was way too thick and I couldn't even finish it. 3/10. It's definitely loud and high energy in there, and with so many people waiting for tables, you kind of feel rushed while eating. Service was still good though. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you.
Finally got to try this place! Super yummy and definitely fulfills your breakfast cravings with a Croatian twist. They were also featured on "The Bear" on Hulu. The breakfast sandwich is great! It's simple yet delicious - it's not trying too hard. The english muffin is soft and they don't skimp on the egg. The sauce adds a good flavor and is not over bearing. The cevapi was delicious too! It was my friends first time trying Croatian food too. Great portion for sharing! Great flavor! We each ordered a hashbrown but mine was taking long for some reason. They gave us an extra one for free as an apology. That's great customer service to me!
After seeing all the hype for what was rated one of Chicago's best breakfast sandwiches, I was a bit disappointed by this (aesthetically lovely) Balkan-American fusion cafe in River North. The environs are very pleasant, so I would certainly spend time here with a coffee if the occasion permitted. But as it relates to the signature egg and cheese on an English muffin, I found the scrambled eggs plentiful but a bit dry. The hot sauce wasn't really enough to uplift the sandwich for me. All to say, I would view this more as a solid neighborhood joint rather than a destination breakfast.
Great vibe and food ... super simple setup, quick turn on the food, and got the Kata Club and Butternut Squash soup ... nice vegan options ... delish!!!
My brother-in-law took me and my fiancé to this café while we were in Chicago. From the outside, it looks like a simple quiet café but as you enter, you realize they have a back patio that is completely packed. We went here on a Saturday morning for a little snack and substance, and we were absolutely thrilled by the amazing food. You're supposed to enter the line and order at the counter and then get seated. They will deliver the food to your seat. Our favorite was definitely the olive oil cake slices and the hashbrowns. Definitely worth a try.
Cute cozy little cafe serving Mediterranean options. On a weekday morning, the place was pretty busy with most of the tables full. We ordered at the counter and our order was brought out to us pretty quickly. I got the lentil soup and avocado toast combo which was 10/10 value. The soup was flavorful and so warming especially on a chilly fall day. Avocado toast was good as well. For drink, I got a matcha latte which was perfectly creamy. Overall, a solid cafe spot. Nothing blew me away, but would still recommend!
Great food in a sleek restaurant with Scandinavian vibes. The dishes are very simple but done very well. My favorite combo when it comes to food. Service was quick
Asked a rando at the gym their favorite breakfast sandwich spot and Doma was it so I decided to try. Able to order online through toast to save some time. Sausage, egg, and cheese on an English muffin with a legendary hash brown. They have a takeout/pickup window which is nice. Took about 10 minutes which wasn't bad since I ordered online. Sandwich itself was nice with a little spice. Egg was fluffy and light, cheese was ooey and gooey. Hashbrown stole the show with the honey mustard dipping sauce. Crispiest hash brown I've ever had! Sandwich was $10 and the hash brown was $4. Well worth the drive to try.
Came back, gave it another try, and it was a great experience! Came here Saturday morning right when it opened to catch up with a friend. There was practically no line and ordered quickly at the counter. It was very easy to find an open table on the patio. My sausage, egg, and cheese and cold brew came out pretty quickly. The breakfast sandwich was absolutely amazing, the sauce added so much flavor and the egg was perfectly fluffy. I would definitely come back again just for the breakfast sandwich. read more

We had a great breakfast at Doma Cafe! The breakfast sandwich was delicious, and we added avocado, sausage, and bacon... it was absolutely worth it. We also ordered the hash browns, which were perfectly crispy, and the buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and really good. The food was definitely the highlight, and most of the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The only downside was one interaction we had. When we arrived, there were six open tables, but five still had dirty dishes on them. We grabbed the last clean table while our friends ordered. I tried to get someone's attention to clear a table, but one employee ignored me. After our friends finished ordering, we started stacking the dishes to help make room, and that same employee became visibly upset, told us to leave everything alone, and cleaned the table rather aggressively. I completely understand they were busy, but it was a little confusing since there were four employees behind the counter at the time, including him, chatting while the tables remained uncleared. Despite that one interaction, everyone else was kind and welcoming, and the food was excellent. I'd definitely come back for the breakfast alone. read more

Incredible food. Worth the hype. You may think that a simple breakfast meal cannot be done wrong but there are so many restaurants that prove that wrong. I am not sure what the flavors in the breakfast sandwich are but my goodness, it is delicious. The hashbrowns were also perfectly crispy. The matcha latte was not too sweet and perfectly executed. The service was also well done. You order up front and then your food is brought to you. I went as soon as they opened on a weekday and it was not as busy as I have heard. They did take a few minutes to open the door past opening time but I don't think that is typical. read more

Just when I thought I hated going out to breakfast....I went to Doma and rediscovered my love for a good cafe!!! You order at the counter at Doma, so it's definitely more of a cafe vibe than a sit down breakfast / brunch which I loved. They had so many things I wanted to try, including the coffee which looked amazing. My absolute favorite was the breakfast sandwich. The eggs were SO FLUFFY and the english muffin was soft on the inside but had a very slight crunch on the outside. The hash brown was the best I've ever had. It was incredibly crispy on the outsides and came with honey mustard and ketchup - YUM!!!! The chicken caesar was just alright in my opinion and was very expensive for that it was. Overall, I LOVED Doma and cannot WAIT to go back!!!!! read more

My friend and I stopped by this place after a pickleball session, having seen it recently in a Jeremy Allen reel on Instagram. We ordered freshly squeezed orange juice and an avocado toast. The juice was super refreshing after our game, and we went slightly off the menu to get the avocado toast. The place is small with limited seating, but we didn't have to wait even though we went around brunch time. It has a cozy, brunchy vibe, you place your order at the counter, and they give you a placard with your number. Overall, it's a nice, casual spot for brunch. I'd definitely recommend it for brunch. read more

Whew - finally made it to Doma Cafe for the breakfast sandwich. I live right next to it, but there's always such a long line on weekends. Decided to try it out on a Wednesday at 11am and that was the right move! Ordered inside at the counter and my food was delivered at the outside patio relatively quickly. Ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage and their house made hash brown. GET THE HASH BROWN. Added it to my sandwich just to feel a little somethin. The sandwich reminds you of an egg McMuffin, if an egg McMuffin was good and had bursting flavors you can't determine. We love nostalgia. But seriously, this was savory, sweet, and spicy and I had no clue what on the sandwich was giving it that flavor! I I ate each individual item to further determine and found the sauce packed it all in - the sweetness made this stand out for me. Balanced with the savory of the sausage ... come on!!! I'll take 14 of them right now. read more
Doma Cafe we love you! Truly somewhere you can rely on for good eats... and it's approachable, so it's a win win. Let's bring back chill dining establishments that don't have too many frills. I've tried much of the menu and can report that the breakfast sandwich is hyped for a reason. That English muffin is magical, eggs and proteins are cooked well, the ratios are right on and oh boy that hot sauce with the slight sweetness is just a wow. I could also eat the turkey sandwich everyday, it's amazing and I think you should try. I appreciate that they offer half and whole portions of their lunch sammies. It's counter service and the food typically comes quick. They do a popular carry out business with a separate walk up window. Chill vibes for dine in. read more
The hype is real, but the line goes fast! It's definitely worth the wait to get this amazing breakfast sandwich and more. The bacon, generous amount of egg and cheese with some delicious sauce on a warm juicy English muffin is an excellent combination. The hashbrown is dense and crispy. The chicken ceasar salad is a nice big portion - I think I'd try the grilled instead of the breaded next time. read more
My friend and I decided to swing by Doma Cafe after a pickleball session to fuel up. Upon entering, we noticed that the space was small with limited seating. You have to place orders by the counter and they bring your order to the table. We ordered some freshly squeezed orange juice and avocado toast. The menu is limited, it's more of a brunch place. The orange juice was very refreshing. The avocado toast was big and hearty. The service was pretty fast and the place was clean. We also came to know that Jeremy Allen had swung by this cafe while he was shooting for a movie. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely swing by for a casual brunch again. read more
The homemade chicken noodle soup was so good. I've never had fresh homemade restaurant chicken noodle soup like this it was amazing. They also have really good hot teas that work well on a cold day. Serving staff was prompt and pleasant very accommodating. This is a great place. If you just want to have brunch with friends and family, the vibe is very service oriented. Customer forward and chill. read more
Delicious. Simple. Fresh. My spiced hot chocolate danced on my tongue. Could they make it a little warmer though? Butternut squash on the sourdough was cooked to perfection. Would would have guessed it pairs so well with smashed avocado!? read more

Unfortunately, my experience here was underwhelming. I ordered the turkey sandwich & it came out with a bunch of raw bacon on it. I was told that the bacon is precooked and put on the sandwich, so I ordered another without the bacon on it. It was not only not crispy, it just wasn't cooked. Even after I got it without the bacon, I didn't really enjoy it. My boyfriend enjoyed his breakfast sandwich with the sausage, even though the egg was a little thick. Probably will not be back. read more
I'm always on a hunt for a good breakfast sandwich and had heard good things about Doma Cafe. I tried the Sausage, Egg, & Cheese and the Housemade Hash Brown, both of which honestly tasted just okay for me. Not sure what the hype is about, but I'd probably pick another spot for a breakfast sandwich. read more
Doma is a neighborhood gem that is a great spot to visit for locals and tourists alike. I prefer their breakfast sandwich with crispy bacon with a side of their hashbrown. The service is friendly and attentive. There is a good amount of seating both in the front and in the backside. A great spot to catch up with friends or to get some work done. read more

I really wanted to love this, and it was solid meal, but looking back, nothing to rave about. We came here at the end of summer and there was a LINE out the door. We waited maybe 20-30 min in line before we finally made it inside and got seated. Absolutely packed inside. Definitely a good vibe for a weekend brunch, lovely interior with lots of sunlight, but it was a bit weird dining next to the line of people waiting to get seated and overhearing their commentary on what's on everyone's tables. The line also grew exponentially while we were eating since it was getting close to noon. We ordered the Breakfast Plate and Chicken Caesar Wrap. Breakfast Plate was expensive for what it was. The hash brown that came with it was probably the only stand out. It was perfectly crispy and not dry. The Chicken Caesar Wrap was flavorful although a bit dry at times. If I had to get it again, I would just get it in salad form. I wouldn't pass up on the chance to come back, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come try this place again. I have a feeling we might of just ordered wrong. Next time, I would try the Grain Bowl or Turkey Sando. read more

We stopped by around 9:30am and were finally able to get a table without having to wait. The food was good and came out pretty quickly, but definitely on the more expensive end for what you get. We tried the: - Hazelnut Pistachio Danish - Raspberry Danish - Iced Latte - Iced Americano - Hash brown - Breakfast Sandwich (w/bacon) The danishes were both excellent, soft and flavorful. I think the star of the show for the hash brown was actually the honey mustard sauce, sweet and tangy. The breakfast sandwich comes with a thick egg and the bacon is pretty good as well. There is a spicy sauce on top that is doing some heavy lifting. read more
Doma Café completely blew me away. The location is perfect, easy to get to but still feels like a local secret. The service is fast, the food comes out quickly, and everything tastes like it was made with real care. You can tell everything is homemade in the best way possible. I had the egg and chickpea dish, yogurt with granola and cherry compote, and hash browns, and everything was delicious. The honey mustard and ketchup are both house-made and completely ruin store-bought versions forever. The carrot ginger juice was bright and refreshing, and the blueberry fizz was light, bubbly, and perfectly balanced. And the breakfast sandwiches deserve a special shoutout. They're what McDonald's wishes their breakfast sandwiches tasted like, comforting and full of flavor without feeling heavy or greasy. There's a warmth to Doma that's hard to describe. It's casual but elevated, cozy but cool, and every detail feels thoughtful. You can tell they care deeply about their food and their guests. It's the kind of café you immediately want to come back to and the kind of place that makes you feel lucky it's in your neighborhood. read more
One of my favorite sandwiches in the city. The English muffin is fluffy. The eggs folded up perfectly. Gooey cheese. And I add a hash brown to it. The little sauce it comes with adds another layer of flavor. Iced lattes are also on point. The little pick up window is so clutch. We always order ahead and pick up. read more
