Many many sundays spent here I love everything about Doma. It's the perfect brunch spot with clean Scandi vibes and Croatian eats. Weekends get pretty busy but usually there are tables available in the "patio" area so don't let the crowd scare you. On weekdays this becomes a great wfh spot! Doma pancakes might be my favorite in the city. The dreamiest fluffy density with the home made warmth and taste, served with an aesthetic side of butter and syrup. They're rly big too so great to share If you want sth savory AND want to try their famous cevapi and hash browns, get the breakfast plate. A truly balanced meal with greens, protein, fats, and carbs. You can never go wrong with a breakfast sandwich and Doma makes theirs with a thic, fluffy layer of folded egg. Super cute cafe in a bit of an odd location. The energy and smell when you walk in feels so nostalgic for reasons unknown. It's cute and classy and feels like home. The workers were patient and kind. The platters and coffees were great for all preferences. The blueberry cake was absolutely delicious- fresh and light. It's almost always packed with a chatty atmosphere, so a group of 4 or less would likely yield the best chance at securing a table. Staff is always very kind and professional despite the busy crowd. It's definitely a great place to casually catch up with friends or just fly solo! On previous visits, I have tried the vegan Kata Klub sandwich, Grain Bowl, Madjarica cake, and linzer cookie. As a butternut squash lover, I was really looking forward to the Kata Klub. All of the ingredients were extremely high quality and fresh- I loved how the crispy slaw contrasted with the creamy avocado. The sandwich was filling but not heavy. However, I found the sandwich to be rather bland- there was so much potential, but it seemed like there was not a strong direction to the flavor profile. The squash could have been great with cinnamon, hot honey, and some sliced pear or apple; alternatively, the dish could have been a great zesty option with the addition of cilantro/parsley/lime, etc. The Grain Bowl was absolutely delicious! Soft boiled egg, avocado, and spinach came together for a hearty but healthy dish. The rice was to die for- there were crispy, toasted bits mixed in with the moist bedding, all prepared in a walnut basil pesto sauce. My only qualm is that the dish tasted unsalted, so I spent a lot of time with the salt shaker during the meal. The pastries were tasty but unmemorable, giving a bit of "day-old" impressions (at least when I visited). The burek and olive oil cake looked very good, however. While there are opportunities to elevate some dishes with extra seasoning and tweaking, this is such a great and unique spot to have in the neighborhood. Will definitely be back! read more

We went on a Sunday afternoon and they were quite packed! Luckily we were able to find a table for 2. We ordered at the counter, paid, and received a number to put on a table. They warned us that the kitchen was backed up and it could easily take at least 20 min for us to receive our order. It wound up taking only about 10 min. The kata club is great. I love butternut squash and it's not your typical vegan sandwich but I didn't find anything lacking about this minus maybe including a side? The price was only for the sandwich, no sides which was a little steep to me at over $10 when this place has no special vibe and almost has a sterile look. I found this place on Yelp hoping I could find a quaint coffee shop to enjoy some delicious food and coffee away from the noise of River North. I found one of my favorite coffee places I've ever gone I went 3 days in a row during my visit to Chicago. I got their iced latte with oat milk and simple syrup and it was perfectly sweet and creamy. I enjoyed it out of their glassware which I think automatically makes the drink 10x better. I also got their avocado toast which is huge! They probably use a whole avocado for one slice of bread. Super simple and no fancy toppings, just the way I like it. Their chicken noodle soup was good but nothing special, i thought the chicken was a bit dry. Their homemade hashbrowns were definitely a highlight of my meals. I am a super fan of Mcdonalds hashbrowns and these were far better. The texture was crunchy on the outside and incredibly smooth on the inside. I also got their sausage and cheese breakfast sandwich (I got it without egg), and omg whatever sauce they add in there is crack. Sooo good. Overall I thought the breakfast sandwich was delicious, although I wasn't the biggest fan of the the sauce, and it was a decent size for the price. I also had an iced latte which was good! The back patio was really hot considering the sun was beating down and it's enclosed, so it kind of turns into a sauna room. Everything about this sandwich "Just Worked". It was so good, normally I would have woofed this puppy down in 5 minutes. Instead I treated it like a fine Bordeaux and savored it - slowly. My wife had their Fried Eggs with Chickpeas yogurt, aleppo pepper, mint, cilantro served with sourdough toast. She loved her meal also. Doma has this homey feeling that fits with the food they serve. I've checked out Doma a few times with coworkers and we're all obsessed with it! It has a nice, calm ambiance in a unique spot.. and absolutely delicious food&drink! I think they have a really unique menu, especially considering the v basic lunch places River North offers. The Kata Klub is popular among my coworkers, and it looks so good- super packed with fresh veggies, plus it's served on local bread (Publican!). The grain bowl is also gorgeously veggie-packed. If you wanna go the sweet route, they have a granola with sour cherry compote garnished with mint... foincyyy. For what I've tried: the Ćevapi was excellent- the meat was super rich, and was served with the freshest pita (almost frybread-esque?!) with roasted red pepper dip & white onions for cronchhh. So good. The Avocado Toast was great (again on delish Publican bread) and so was the Six Minute Egg- I loved assembling the butter, chive and eggs on the crumbly seeded bread. For the first time, I ordered the Caesar, the egg sandwich and a pancake. I was most disappointed in the salad because of how simple it was yet so pricey for what you get. I definitely do not recommend it. However, the egg sandwich was fresh and tasty, so I would order that again! The pancake was nothing special. This time around I ordered the turkey sandwich and the butternut squash soup, and these were both tasty!
