Be prepared for a wait! Nice and cozy brunch restaurant. Best item on the menu is their chorizo hash, but it's a bit heavy and hearty! Get this with an over easy egg and let the yolk run all over the hash as well! Pancakes are super fluffy. read more

The Good - Food tasted good, service was friendly and location was easy to find. The Bad - I had ordered the Breakfast Croissant and although it tasted good a few things about it lacked for instance - the croissant was not a croissant but a Brioche bun (a plus) I was hoping for a buttery fillo dough croissant and the bacon was burnt. The egg portion of the croissant was not offered any other way but scrambled. It was OK. A little disappointed. The fruit plate was served on a kid sized plate and offered as such. If it wasn't how disappointing. When we were to pay with a credit card they added a 3% surcharge explained as a credit card fee. Come in man. Next time may not happen. Overall, the experience was okay. To be fair I will give the establishment a chance 3.85 stars... read more

duddee their chorizo hash is crazy good. i also got their chilaquiles verde and it was iight. solid seasoning. surprising highlight was their buttermilk pancake. i'd order pancakes again for a second run. it was just so soft and fluffy. only L was their iced coffee. a bit too watered down. still giving this spot a 5 tho. read more

Stopped in at noon on a Saturday in August and was sat right away for a table of two. Both indoor and outdoor seating was available. Food was excellent. Way better than expected from a low key environment. We would highly recommend coming for a great, easy brunch on the weekends. Meals ran around $15 each. read more

Perfect breakfast and lunch spot in West Town! Super friendly staff and the food is amazing in this cozy spot. I ordered the Avocado BLT. It was delicious. The bread was nicely toasted, the avocado, lettuce and tomato was fresh, and the bacon was delicious. Just an fyi they put ketchup on the BLT. I requested no ketchup. The side of fruit was fresh, it had watermelon, pineapple, and cantaloupe cubed pieces. The side of Cole slaw that accompanied the dish was really good. Overall very impressed with size, flavors, freshness. The waitress was really nice. The wait staff kept coming around to fill your coffee. Very attentive staff. It's a little crowded in this place, but manageable. read more

The huevos rancheros was good...just wish for $13.50 plus tax and total $14.96 I got a side like hash browns or potato's or something on the side. Otherwise the food is good and not salty and seasoned just right. Street parking only on a busy street. Free unless it's M-F 4-6pm. See sign. And the food was ready for pickup in 10-15 min as promised. read more

I have often heard good things about Breakfast House and have been wanting to try for some time. I just now realized there are multiple locations as I came on Yelp to write this review. My first experience was via Door Dash order in which I've done twice. I first ordered the Croissant Sandwich which was really good! It includes virginia ham, white cheddar and scrambled eggs on a grilled croissant along with a side of roasted potatoes. Its a nice size as well...like shareable! I also ordered the egg white omelet in which it was ok...also came with the side of potatoes and could be shared. I actually came by to check out the actual restaurant and its your normal everyday diner. Staff is very nice and gives menu tips if asked. I got the Breakfast House Hash and was very excited about it. Unfortunately it lacked the flavor I thought it would have. The dish includes two poached eggs atop a mix of chicken sausage, andouille sausage, roasted potatoes, onions, and red peppers. I had to douse in hot sauce and it helped but still didn't really do it for me. Big enough to be shared. I would come back and try again but would definitely bring someone as portion sizes are very big. read more

This is a hopping place. Food is very good. It's worth the time it might take to get in and get seated and get your breakfast but once you're in, you'll see this place is a machine. It pumps out breakfast food to go and for its patron sitting in the restaurant like a well oiled machine. Seems like it should be a large larger place to accommodate the business that they do. The service is very good. The food is even better. Not a place to miss. Have to try it at least once. read more

Solid breakfast spent at Breakfast House. We went around 9:15 on a Sunday and got a table immediately. Friendly staff. Fresh squeezed OJ: 5/5 Breakfast Burrito: 4.5/5 (the sauce on it is delicious, but I would suggest getting it on the side so it's not so hard to eat!) Pancakes: 3/5 (just very average) read more

I've been here before a couple times for breakfast and they have a huge menu! Very typical American breakfast spot if that's what you're in the mood for. This time we ordered lunch and I got a chicken wrap, which was exactly what you'd expect. The service was great! Our server was very attentive and came by the perfect amount. We sat outside because the weather was nice and it was perfect! Their sidewalk seating isn't super busy and feels so comfortable with shaded seating. We didn't make a reservation and were able to walk in and get seated right away! Also, this place is BYOB, which is amazing! While we didn't take advantage this time, I have many times in the past with a few juices from the restaurant! read more

I'm BACK! Here for another conference had to stop in in-person. It was amazing as I expected it to be. The service was fast and hospitable. The location was situated nicely and very clean and fresh. Sour cream pancakes are out of this world! I don't like fluffy cake-like buttermilk pancakes so I'm always on the hunt for something more like sourdough pancakes. The sour cream pancakes here are thin like crepes, super soft and mine were served piping hot! I got a side of bacon also. The berry compote served with the pancakes is good but I didn't finish mine as the taste of the pancakes reigned supreme! Ambiance of restaurant is great and service was quick and friendly. Sorry the photo shows them half eaten but I wanted to demonstrate the thinness of the pancakes. Again, these are more like crepes than fluffy buttermilk pancakes (which are gross anyway!) read more

I ordered the chicken and waffles and my husband ordered a BYO omelette. The portions were huge, staff was polite, and this location is BYOB! While looking for a good breakfast while staying in the area, we stumbled across the breakfast house. We were worried about the wait but when we walked in we were able to sit in a couple of minutes! I would say plan accordingly because the line was looong when we left. The food here was amazing! I enjoyed the Supreme Chorizo Hash, that had literally all of the flavors and included guacamole (I love). With this meal you get the option to have toast or their fluffy buttermilk pancake. You know I already had my eyes on a side of pancakes so this combination gave me the best of both worlds. And I was able to add my favorite addition, blueberries! Not only on top as pictured but in the batter as well. Highly recommend it all! read more

It's been a couple of years since my last review, but I promised I'd come back with an update--so here it is! A friend of mine, knowing how much I love brunch, saw Breakfast House and wanted to treat me. So, I found myself back at a spot I reviewed quite a while ago. It was a mild Saturday morning, and Breakfast House was already busy, with seating both inside and outside. I love how they maintain that cozy, at-home vibe, even on the outdoor patio, which is complemented by flowers near the tables. Despite the crowd, we were seated right away. I looked back at my previous review to see if my concerns had been addressed. Last time, I had the chicken and waffles but felt they could use more seasoning. I was hesitant to order it again, but as they say, "closed mouths don't get fed." This time, I asked for a bit more seasoning on the chicken and requested they make it as flavorful as if they were cooking at home. I'm happy to say, the chicken and waffles were exquisite this time around. I also had an egg and a side of breakfast potatoes, while my friend enjoyed a delicious vegetarian dish. Everything was washed down with some coffee. I'm so glad I got the chance to revisit Breakfast House, and with the improvements made to the chicken, it's now one of my top five chicken and waffle spots in the city. Based on this new experience, I'm giving Breakfast House a solid 4.5 out of 5. read more

We got sat down right away and the service was great. Our server was very nice. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes, fruit and a latte. Didn't care too much for the latte but my food was great. Stopped by for brunch on Sunday! The place is small and a bit busy but we were seated right away. There was street parking out from which was very convenient. My friend and I split the breakfast burrito and crepes. I really enjoyed both. The sauce and salsa that came with the burrito was really flavorful. The burrito was large and filled well. The crepes felt more like pancakes but they were good. The berries could've been fresher. The waitstaff were also very kind. read more

I get the price increase on things but this breakfast was way out of wack. A kids breakfast for a "silly" face pancake $7 literally a 6" pancake that's it. No drink, then a 6oz chocolate milk $3.50?! A cup of orange juice 6-8oz $6? Coffee tastes like an ashtray. Like for a kids meal a single pancake for $7 is a HUGE rip off. Same goes for the kids French toast it's A SINGLE slice of bread cut into 4 pieces for $7?! No egg, no meat, not even a drink. Literally baffled. read more

Just came back from Breakfast House with some friends - and it was such a sunny day to go! We sat inside which was fine and enjoyed the vanilla waffle - yum, challah French toast and the Mexican omelet. The restaurant was bustling for a Saturday morning and as we were walking out, more were waiting to be seated. Our waiter was attentive and asked how we wet dong midway through. I recall the previous location, but this one is better right on Grand and more visible. A great place to come for brunch or lunch any day of the week. read more

INCREDIBLE BREAKFAST! Overall it has a casual and cozy dining ambience and super delicious food!! Ambience/space: It's a small restaurant situated on Grand Ave, and when I arrived there were lots of people waiting outside. Inside, the tables and bar seating were most filled around 11am on a Saturday morning. I love the cozy decor with colorful pictures on the wall, cute tiny flowers on the table, and the most adorable set of salt and pepper shakers that were shaped like cows!! The space itself is small and cozy, so expect a wait during prime brunch hours. Service: Surprisingly, despite the many people waiting out the door, I was seated immediately! I don't think they do reservations and I showed up ready to wait. Initially the person taking names at the door said it would be a 40 minute wait for 2 people, and I accepted my fate. But then they turned around and said actually there's a table open! So I happily was seated right away. However, once my friend arrived, it took quite a bit of time for the waitress to come by to take our order. Maybe 20-25 minutes? However the deliciousness of the food definitely won me over! Food: I got the Supreme Chorizo Hash which was the first thing on the menu and labeled as the House Special. And it was so special!! My taste buds were in heaven!! The texture and blended tastes of the over-medium egg and runny yolk mixed in with the potatoes and chorizo and mound of avocado....wow. And the portion size is massive! Definitely two servings. I was so full after eating half that I took the rest home. It also came with a side, and I picked the fruit to balance it out. A perfect pairing! My friend got an omelet with a side of pancake and she also loved it! She said the pancake is a highlight. Other: I appreciated their online menu! They have a QR code posted on the table so it was easy to access, and the online menu itself features beautiful photos of the dishes which is always so helpful! Definitely made it easy for me to make a decision. Can't wait to come back!! read more

A cozy little spot to start your day. I was easily able to find free street parking right next to the door. I had no issue getting a table and was waited on right away. The coffee was hot and strong!! And when I chose my breakfast entree I was super happy everything tasted incredibly fresh. From the guacamole to the crème fresh to the chorizo to the tortilla Ms and the eggs just brought everything together. I can usually eat a lot but this portion was MASSIVE and I couldn't finish the whole thing myself. And was satiated for the entire day. I left with a tiramisu latte and it was delicious, but very sweet (in a good way but just note that). Everything was a great way to start my day!! read more

Best breakfast I've had in a long time. So glad I stumbled upon this place! I got the salmon cake Benedict and my boyfriend got the supreme chorizo hash. Both were delicious and quite frankly, I wish I would've gotten the hash just because it was so yummy. The Benedict was great though! My only gripe is since the restaurant so small, it gets quite loud and it's hard to hear others. But, we got sat quickly, had great service, and an overall awesome experience. read more

Parfait had a very sour taste to it with clear signs of curdling. The croissant was an absolute atrocious monstrosity, the eggs were worst quality with a weird, hard overcooked and bland sloppy mess. No seasoning in ANYTHING not even a touch of salt. The fruit tasted like it's been sitting out for hours on end and was cut several days ago. read more

This is a bustling neighborhood breakfast and lunch spot. Staff is busy and they work hard to keep customers happy. The exterior of the place may seem very ordinary, but the menu is surprisingly sophisticated. Food quality is very high. Prices are reasonable, considering the post-COVID-19 inflation I'm still getting used to. Quality and service are what they focus on. Some standouts are the sour cream pancakes (luscious texture; and it doesn't matter if you like sour cream, they don't taste like that), breakfast burrito is my wife's favorite, special bacon pancakes has some chocolate chips. The manager Roberto is someone special. A lot of young staff, so there's a bit of turnover, but they work well as a team. This is one of several metro locations. read more

I can't believe that it has taken me this long to write a review for Breakfast House. I have come to this place so many times and have also ordered takeout also so many times that I don't think I can count them anymore. Anytime a friend comes in from out of town and wants a good breakfast, I pretty much always bring them here. My favorite, and what I always go for, is the chorizo breakfast hash--with pancakes topped with strawberries & whipped cream. My friend tried the French toast with Nutella and it was absolutely amazing! Make sure the whipped cream is there. It's so good. Service is on point as well, but nothing entirely special. I would say that I don't even need good service here. They can just throw the food at me and I will still enjoy it. Lol! read more
