    Mexican Benedict
    Clay G.

Jam 'n Honey is a cute little brunch spot right by DePaul. It is cash only, but they have an ATM. I ordered the Mexican Benedict and absolutely loved it. It was full of flavor and the potatoes in the side were tasty too. The food came out extremely quickly. Overall, it's a solid value in a good location and I will be back again sometime.

    Veggie Burrito

*cash only establishment* Came for a late brunch on a Sunday afternoon. We got a table outside right away. The service was slow, but the food was good. We had the veggie burrito, which was fantastic! Only complaint was that the cheese was only in one corner of the burrito so having it spread out more evenly would've really elevated the taste. We also had the 2x2x2 with eggs over easy and bacon. Overall a very good meal, but one of the eggs was overhard...No run at all. The other was perfect. Bacon was nice and crispy. Overall a pretty good experience. I'd go back for sure!

CASH ONLY !!!! ****** besides that, 5/5 stars. We went on a Friday morning around 11am and didn't have any issues with getting seated. Coffee is grounded here at Jam n Honey and boy oh boy is it good! Bottomless coffee and a staff who will keep the cups coming! Couldn't decide if I wanted savory or sweet; so I opted for the Nutella and banana pancakes and I WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND. Couldn't even finish the plate it was so big. Other gal in my party ordered the French toast and it was amazing. Will definitely be coming back

CASH ONLY It just wasn't great. We got there and the wait was relatively short but service could be better. We waited like half an hour before our server got there despite it not being crazy busy. The eggs were good but I got the butt piece of toast so that wasn't great. Very meh experience

We stopped her today because I love the area ! Also had to pick up my cats meds at a specialty pharmacy in the area! We sat inside outside as the window was open! Very clean ! Safe seating! Staff were awesome and friendly! The man in the white apron was very nice! The French toast was delicious with honey butter! The menu was two sided with a lot of good yummy sounding choices! The wait staff were helpful as I was between two choices ! My daughter and I will definitely go her again! Love the DePaul area neighborhood ! Yummy yum!

Scramble Eggs with Cheddar, Chicken and Waffle

Dropped in while in the Lincoln Park area one weekday afternoon. Had the place to myself and was quite glad if it. Ordered the chicken and waffle. The chicken was chicken breast without the bone in. It wasn't juicy, which was perhaps to avoid the waffle getting soaked, but it wasn't dry either. It was just right. Ordered a side of eggs scrambled with cheddar. The whole meal was satisfying. I don't know about any cash only policy. That may have been from when they first opened. They accepted my credit card without complaint and without snarl. Service was great. Then again, it wasn't crowded so there was no scrambling. Like most breakfast spots in Chicago, I'm sure weekends see a full house. I'll take my chances during the middle of the week. The food was good enough for an encore.

This is place is located near DePual University, and is so cute on the outside! Minus one star because they were cash only. The food was very good! I loved my omelette and my family loved their sandwiches. I would recommend the local chicken sandwich particularly! Our service was pretty fast as well!

Bacon Waffle Benedict, Pork Belly Hash

I think this place gets a bad rap because it's cash only but I knew this going in so it was fine by me. They definitely do have a POS though as two girls next to us paid with a credit card. This food was incredible and they have some really unique combinations. I got the bacon waffle and omg was it scrumptious. Husband got the pork belly scramble and could not stop talking about how good it was for days. Service definitely could have been faster and more attentive but wasn't awful by any means. Reasonably priced and good size portions. They don't take reservations and the inside can get pretty packed so would recommend coming on a sunny day when they have more outdoor seating.

    BLT Sandwich

This is a nice local mom and pop shop for brunch. Seems decently popular but not too busy where you can't find a spot. Prices are pretty fair. Around the 10-14 dollar range I would say. They have nice outdoor sidewalk seating as well. I got the BLT, which is a very fair price of only $9.50 and a cup of coffee for $3. The coffee is unlimited. BLT was pretty solid but nothing that blew me away. I'd love to try their breakfast food sometime. My friend got old style French toast and they were very willing to customize it to her preferences (adding whip cream and berries). She also got tea as well, which was just prepackaged tea bags. Overall, great place if you just want a casual breakfast or brunch and you live around the area.

But it didn't stop at 5. After we hit 10 times that a server had run into my chair, I literally had to move furniture behind it. And this was after I had put my backpack on the back of a chair so there was no way that it was them. Simply not seeing me. I will never again go back to this location of waffles so long as I live. On a Saturday morning around 11am there was surprisingly no wait but I also think we got the last available table inside. Note here that they do offer outdoor seating. Anyways, we sat smack dab in the middle of the restaurant and got to observe a lot. After sitting a young lady brought waters over to the table. I asked her a quick question but she noticeably had AirPods in and didn't respond. I was just looking for the bathroom but I found it myself. It was clean and well stocked. Our waitress was nice. Attentive and present. We ordered the 2+2+2+2 and a Moons over Miami sandwich. The food took less than 10 minutes to arrive and everything was very hot. My mom and I both enjoyed our breakfast. I personally really enjoyed the French toast. I thought the portions were filling. At the end we were asked if we'd be paying by cash or card. A ticket was never presented but we were just verbally told an amount. I thought that was kind of odd. We chose cash because you get a discount. We asked again what the total was and she again just verbally told us and then took the cash. We had exact change but I still think it was weird to not have a visual. Overall, this was a great meal and an overall good experience. I'd add this to your list of breakfast spots to try in the area.
