    Spicy Pork Bibimbap as take-out.
    Natalie T.

I got their Spicy Pork Bibimbap. It was... decent I suppose. I am no Korean food expert by any means, so I'm not sure if my food was supposed to be mostly room-temperature/a bit cold. The egg especially was cold, a bit hard, and mostly tasteless... disappointing (I usually like eggs :( ) I got mine as a take-out, so the components of my meal were likely more spread out than if they were in a bowl as well - which made it hard to get multiple parts of it in one bite. I mostly ended up forking most of it and alternating between sections to get a variety going in one "bite". The meat was delicious, but I thought the rest of the meal fell a bit short both with how hard it was to mix it and that the food was cold =/ I've had Bibimbap a few times before at other places and this is the first time where I felt truly disappointed with it as a meal...

    Beef bulgogi bibimbap

This is one of several asian places in the surprisingly hidden International Food Court on Hornby Street. I'd walked past this several times without realizing it was a food court, but it seems to be one of the best kept secrets of people who work in the area. Definitely not touristy, but lots of tasty and reasonably priced food options (including one place that does bubble waffles too, yum.) I tried Bibiko because I love bibimbap, and ordered the bulgogi to go. Huge portion, easily 2 meals, and they'll substitute brown rice if you want. It came with soup which was bland and not very tasty - ended up throwing this out. The bibimbap itself was ok, but not as flavourful as others I have had. Probably the best you'll find in the downtown area, but I'm sure you can find better out along Robson Street. Still, generous portion and convenient.

Japchae $6.48 with tax and filled me up!

This is just based on the one dish I had, the japchae. I was very pleased with it and it came to $6.48 with tax which is very reasonable. It has zucchini and carrot and onions and lots of sesame as toppings, not the works but it'll do. When I came back to work I threw an egg I had in the fridge in it and it filled me up. Busy place that international market is though, crazy at lunch time.

Awesome Korean rice bowl. They're friendly, and usually fast, side from lunch hour. Cheap too, at under $10.

Excellent value, healthy food, in the financial district. The hot bowl comes with a choice of meat, option for brown rice, and an egg.

Most Korean places I've been to are typically expensive and small portioned, but not Bibiko! The last few times that I've been roaming through the International Food Fair, I've been wondering where everybody had been getting the bowls of veggies with an egg on top! Given the rather sorry weather we've been having (heavy rain and hail), I thought it was a good excuse to duck into the food fair once more to try out the seemingly popular Bibimbap! Lo and behold it was AMAZING. For under $9, I got a bowl packed with veggies, pork, and even a free fried egg on top! Would definitely come back again to try their Kimchi Fried Rice

We ordered a set with gimbap, tteokbokki, and noodles. The gimbap was generously stuffed with colorful vegetables and rice, wrapped tightly in seaweed and sliced nicely, fresh, clean flavors, and perfect for sharing. The tteokbokki had that classic sweet-and-spicy sauce, with chewy rice cakes that really hit the spot (comfort food at its best). The noodles were light but surprisingly satisfying, served warm and simply topped, a great balance alongside the richer, spicy dish. Everything came out neatly on a tray, which made it feel casual and fun, like a cozy quick meal you'd come back to often. Overall, Nomnom Seoul is a great spot for an easy, comforting bite with friends. Simple Korean favorites done well, with good portions and a relaxed vibe. I'd happily return again

I walked quite a bit from downtown Robson and arrived, but there were quite a few customers inside the store. The most popular online Tteokbokki is sweet and salty, with an addictive taste. Kimbab was quite voluminous and I could only eat half of it. The cold noodles were no soup and had a lot of vegetables in the them. There are many other things I want to try, so I definitely want to come back here.

They answered all my questions and offered recommendations, and were very welcoming. Nam San seems to be very popular for their Soondae (blood sausage). However, I've never really tried Soondae before and I was feeling nauseous on the day of my visit--so I opted for something more mild and less "adventurous" instead. I will definitely be back to try their Soondae next time though. Daeji Gukbap 10/10 This boiled bowl of stew was exactly what my upset tummy needed. The creamy broth warmed me right up and soothed my stomach so well. It was the only thing I was able to keep down in two days. There was also a generous amount of tender and flavourful pork inside. This bowl of stew honestly reminded me so much of the one we tried in Busan. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes stews. There was no gaminess at all, and yet the soup was still so full of flavour. Absolutely delicious. One of the three…read moreremaining stalls in the Robson Public Market food court, Nam San specializes in pork offal and homemade Korean blood sausage (soondae), incorporated into a variety of dishes. I always order the same thing, a mixed pork offal and soondae soup. You can choose the spiciness level when you order but they also offer red pepper flakes and fish sauce on the side to add to taste. It comes in small and large, with a side of pickled radish, roasted seaweed, and white rice. Even with the small, you get a lot of meat in the hot stone bowl and it is so comforting. The offal is super tender but the star here is definitely the soondae. Pork blood and vermicelli with spices are encased in an intestine casing, making for a unique springy texture. It's even more tasty when you dip into their homemade fish sauce and the stew warms you to the bone. I love supporting small mom and pop shops, and with how tucked away this place is on the busy Robson strip, I'll definitely make an effort to frequent them time and time again. Please pay them a visit and try their unique offerings out!
