Our waitress was very observant, efficient and friendly. She noticed all of the ice in my drink had melted so she brought me a cup of ice! It's not much but in the summer, it was just what I needed to stay cool. We ordered coffee, iced tea, hardy breakfast and eggs Benedict. All of it was delicious. Ever. Single. Great stop for breakfast. As one of the few places open during COVID we were able to get a table for four. Inside was a bit small but we had a table with a curtain to keep our area safe from people passing thru the restaurant. The booths however are very small and with my winter clothes on I felt a bit claustrophobic. Once I got my drink and food I was able to ignore that situation. Portions are filling and prices service was just right. I like how they offer options to guest such as meat, potatos, bread or biscuit along with jelly. New owners: biscuits and gravy aren't as good as they used to be. also, the omelettes are eggs cooked separately and then the ingredients rolled in afterwards (the peppers, onions, sausage, whatever), and I kinda like the eggs and the stuff all being in a mush together. Such a great little diner! Breakfast is my favorite meal and I'm always looking for local diners. The staff was incredibly friendly and obviously enjoy their jobs. It made the whole atmosphere very comfortable. The food was delicious. My husband had a cinnamon waffle with cream cheese glaze that broke my gluten free heart. Was in the need for breakfast, so got out my handy Yelp App and found Dolly's Café, gave the address to my brother and off we went! It was a Wednesday morning and not too busy. It's a cute little café and they are doing well with covid precautions with seating spaced out and booths have privacy curtains. After checking out the menu I went with the Dolly Scramble, it was diced ham and scrambled eggs mixed with hash browns, peppers, onions, mushrooms topped with sour cream. It was just what I was craving that morning. And it came with a choice of toast or a homemade biscuit, so I went with the biscuit and raspberry jam. The biscuit was so tender and paired well with the raspberry jam! This is a delish breakfast at Dolly's Café, look forward to coming back next time I'm in town! read more

Had a very nice first visit to Dolly's today. Recommend by family and friends for quite some time and just never got around to trying it. Jessica was our server and she was excellent. She kept drinks filled and was overall very attentive. She also made us feel like family. It's a small place with a handful of countertop stools and about 10 booths. Nicely appointed inside with comfortable booth seating. Both of our meals, the Uncle Jacks Omelette & Dorothy's Special, were very good. High quality and plenty of food to get your day going. Everything about this was excellent except the price. Breakfast set us back over $30 without tip so that's the only reason for a loss of star. Great food, excellent service, but pricey. read more

Got bumped out of the Yelp event at Browne's Bistro, sulked for awhile and then headed out for Dolly's! Upon entering, I immediately noted the intimate space and booths and feared my obesity would be a problem. However, the booth we chose was plenty comfortable and we settled in for breakfast. My wife had a half-order on the biscuits and gravy and I chowed down on the "Hearty" breakfast (see photo). The service was very friendly and the food was lip-smacking good. I have been going to Dolly's for years and have always loved it. Today I went and learned that there were new owners. This was the best Dolly's I have ever had. The hash browns cooked to perfection and the pancake was the best pancake I have ever had. These people have something pretty fantastic going on! Wandered in on a drive by whim and was pleasantly surprised by this gem of a place. Tiny and charming, the food was amazing, atmosphere was charming, and service excellent. It's hard not to love everything breakfast, but I find MANY times, most places are just average at best. Everything here tasted so fresh and homemade, you can tell the cooks really know what they're doing, everything was expertly prepared. My eggs benedict were some of the best I've ever had, The sauce I think is their own creation, because it was hollandaise but cheesey at the same time--so amazing and unique. This was my second day in Spokane and I had to try the other "best breakfast" spot. Yesterday I tried Frank's Diner and was impressed, but this was BETTER. I was greeted at the front and quickly able to sit down at the bar where I could see the chef cooking in front of me. He struck up conversation with me - very friendly! I was immediately served coffee and water. I ordered the 2-egg breakfast and it only took about 5 minutes to come out. The bacon was cooked well just as I asked, the hash browns were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, the scrambled eggs may have been the best I've ever had, and the strawberry jam that came with the toast was absolutely amazing. All around great breakfast. Will definitely come here for breakfast next time! read more

Second time going here. Prices have increased $5-6 from just 8 months ago! They do a ton of delivery/to-go orders with door dash, Uber eats, etc. so even though there were only 4-5 tables seated it took over 30 minutes for the two of us to get our food. Probably won't come back. I believe the pandemic has shifted their focus online and the increase in prices is a tough bite to swallow. Happy they're surviving but I was hopeful for more with the cute diner it is. Maybe if they kept online prices raised but return their in person menu to January prices? read more

Came here for the start of our "D" date, and it wasn't busy at all. Service was spectacular this morning, as Adrian was prompt with our coffee and cranberry juice. I ordered the two egg breakfast with bacon, scrambled, hash browns and toast. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with over easy eggs and hash browns. It wasn't long before our food came out nice and hot. My bacon was cooked perfectly, not too crispy and not too soft. My scrambled eggs were a delight because often times they come over cooked. My husband's chicken fried steak was crispy on the outside, and the tasty sausage gravy that accompanied it was phenomenal. Definitely did not lack any flavor. this place is open 6 AM to 2 PM and they even have a lunch menu that we will be back to try at some point. If you want overpriced diner breakfast you could make yourself then definitely order from Dolly's. I wanted to support a local restaurant during this trying time so decided to order from Dolly's via Uber Eats. First off, the Uber Eats prices are just ridiculous. $20 for a scramble, $10 for one pancake. I get that you have to up-charge for the service, but yikes. None the less I ordered a $20 scramble and $10 pancake and was extremely disappointed. The scramble was very boring, I could have made it at home. It was also covered in a disgustingly thick layer of cheese that the toast was stuck to, making the toast inedible. The pancake was very average. Certainly not worth $10 for a plain single pancake. I could justify the prices if the food was stellar, but it's not even slightly good. People rave about Dolly's in Spokane, but honestly I think Spokane natives just don't know what good food is. OK this is the small breakfast diner you have been searching for in Spokane. Food: The food was de-freakin-lish ! I had the chicken fried steak with the home style fries with a biscuit on the side and raspberry jam. There is nothing I did not love about my meal. The portions are huge and I was not able to eat all of it and will probably share my meal with someone next time. If you have the option between the regular fries or the home style fries i highly recommend you try the home style fries which some with bell peppers and onions (refer to picture). Staff: Out waitress was so nice and super attentive. She was constantly coming by to refill our coffee. Overall i would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good breakfast diner. Everyone is super friendly and the food is great ! I would say the only downfall to this place is that it is very small and just would not be ideal for large groups. read more

Great service during COVID. I ordered the Country Benedict, and hubby ordered the chicken-fried steak. I know people say "huge" a lot in breakfast reviews, but WOW, was that steak huge. They said supplies were low, and this chicken fried steak was different. It took them three plates to serve hubby's food. :-D My benedict was everything I hoped for....good gravy, excellent biscuit, good sausage, great oozy egg. I loved the home fries with peppers and onions. Service was great, too. read more

Extremely overcooked sausage, eggs, and hash browns, and pancakes that may as well been from McDonalds. They did compensate one of our two meals, because of the wait. I was very excited to try this place out ,as it was closed for a long time. There were several things that earned this restaurant a one star review. To begin with, it seemed as though the restaurant was attempting to save money at every turn. First, no sugar,then no creamer....then, no napkins. The chocolate chips in their pancakes were the tiniest chocolate chips that you've ever seen in a pancake ever. It was honestly just strange. . The food was cold, and flavorless . Getting coffee was a challenge even when we wanted a refill-it was a total pain for the waitress. And then there were all the plates that were left on top of the table,as though jenga was the game a mom of two wanted to play first thing in the morning. There were literally two other guests in the whole establishment. It was more than just cold food and bad service ....it was attitude when the waitress realized that we knew what was going on. Avoid this place .There are plenty other great restaurants serving breakfast in Spokane where you will have a far better experience.Not the same restaurant that I remember. read more

The service is great for how busy the place is and the food was delicious. There was a small problem with my order the owner comped my meal even though I told him not to. I was leaving Spokane to return home to Texas, and needed to stop somewhere to eat breakfast before heading to the airport. I wanted somewhere known for its delicious breakfast, and most of all its consistency in providing a good meal. I can say without question that I found the right place with Dolly's. The restaurant itself is so small you might miss it in passing by, but it is well worth the stop if you're in town. After some maneuvering to park, I stepped inside to a warm and friendly greeting. The place is tiny, as mentioned before, but very comfortable, and the service comes quick and with a smile. The coffee was hot, and the menu made for some tough decisions. I finally settled on the chili cheese omelet, and I am happy I did. It was delicious, cooked to perfection, and the coffee never stopped flowing. Even the sourdough toast was buttery and delicious, and the strawberry jam served with it was too. If you're in Spokane early in the day and desire a good hearty breakfast, try Dolly's and I promise you won't be disappointed with the service or the food. read more

This cafe has amazing food and excellent service. We had breakfast, and the biscuits were light and fluffy--and HUGE--the hash browns were golden outside and light inside, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The breakfast menu had "standard" fare, nothing fancy, but everything was flawlessly done. The best breakfast I've had in a long time. And the servers are friendly, efficient, and very personable. We had never been to Spokane before, and the server made many excellent recommendations for places to see. The line cook even chimed in with recommendations of his own, and we had a great day touring the places they suggested. They were like tour guides! The cafe is also very well decorated. It is much nicer than your standard cafe. Throughout our breakfast, we didn't just feel satisfied, we felt pampered. We highly recommend Dolly's! read more
