Sorella in Spokane Washington was an unexpected treat. It's a high quality Italian restaurant outside downtown that looks unassuming but speaks loudly when you enter to find a unique design anchored with crazy melted wax candles everywhere. It sets quite mood that turned out to be a great evening. We ate at the bar and the bartenders were lovely. They were as good at their craft as they are making you feel at home. The food was great but the cocktails even better. My first cocktail was An Italian in Paris (photo #4). It was a delicious gin recipe coupled with two different aperitifs and Green Chartreuse. It was deliciously complex. My second was Riot Act which is a spin on the classic Black Manhattan (photo #2). If a cocktail could be angry and fun at the same time it would be this recipe. The balance of rye, Cynar, Benedictine and Averna was bonkers. They threw in a little Demerara syrup for balance and it was fabulous. I will be recreating both of these at home because they were that good. We capped off our memorable evening with a little limoncello. Why not . It was random that I visited Spokane for the second time in my life, but I'm glad I randomly visited this gem. If you ever find yourself in Eastern Washington go see the fine folks at Sorella. Salute @thejohnnycocktail An Italian in Paris Fords Gin Salers Apertif Cap Corse Blanc Green Chartreuse Riot Act Rye Whiskey Cynar Benedictine Averna

Inside of the restaurant was elegant! Would say that my pasta why slightly undercooked and chicken was far too salty. Overall good meal and experience but I fear for the price the pasta should be better.

Dante's Meatballs

Delicious and filling Italian dishes with romantic interior and kind staff. Ordered a sweet limoncello spritz and enjoyed the orange bitters gin/vodka martini. Dante's meatball were juicy with a bright red sauce. Loved the classic alla vodka pasta - saucy soft noodles + garlic forward. The veal was also very tender and bucatini was soft and buttery. Food came out a little slowly but it was a busy Friday night - thank goodness we made reservations!

Having been to Sorella a handful of times since my last review, it felt right to share an updated review and confirm that everything a year ago is still true. Their menu has evolved and as of recently, they brought the branzino back (thank you!) - but we still haven't had a dish we didn't like (and we've tried most!). Our go to order when we're bringing guests or having a splurge meal with friends is: the ricotta and meatballs to start (apps), the lemon and vodka pastas (be aware, the vodka pasta has heat!) or swap the risotto, and then the branzino and one of their parm dishes depending on how many are eating. Make sure to save room for an affogato at dessert! Hats off also to the wait staff and management team for making such a cozy but elevated spot - we've never had a bad experience at Sorerlla.

My (now) fiancé took me here to celebrate our anniversary and our engagement yesterday!! We loved the vibe of the restaurant with the beautiful gold frames, the perfect lighting, and the green/teal color wash! Everyone was so kind and so excited for us and the chef welcomed/congratulated us and treated us to some of the most delicious food I've ever had!!! They also brought us a glass of champagne to celebrate! It was a perfect way to end the perfect day!!! We agreed that every year this place is where we will be celebrating our anniversary

We came to Sorella for my wife's birthday after hearing great things and it definitely lives up to the hype. The vibe makes you feel like you're not even in Spokane and the staff is awesome. You can tell they love what they do. The food was full of flavor and our server Sarah went out of her way to make my wife feel celebrated and helped me pull off a surprise gift. We ordered the prawns appetizer and it was incredible and way more filling than expected since the prawns are huge. The crab orzo with grilled chicken was solid too. We'll be back to try more. Highly recommend.

If I could give 10 stars I would - the ambiance is elevated but relaxed and the service is amazing. Best authentic Italian in Spokane

I recently visited Sorella for the first time after hearing from many friends and colleagues that this beautifully designed restaurant also has excellent food. My partner and I didn't have a reservation, but we came by at 5:30 pm on a Tuesday and were able to get seats at the bar. This place does fill up, so unless you're here early or are going to chance it, reservations are a must. The bar offers a fun place to enjoy a cocktail and a meal. There is plenty of room to eat as the bar is roomy. Upon sitting down, we were quickly greeted by the bartender who asked me if I was Danish. I'm not Danish, but I lived there while studying at the Copenhagen Business School, and just so happened to be wearing some daisy jewelry from a very famous Danish silversmith that I purchased while living there. The fact that she recognized the jewelry because she's Danish and usually is wearing her daisy jewelry too was the coolest way to start off our time here. Honestly, how often do you find connection with someone so quickly? It felt kismet as I don't regularly wear my daisy jewelry. For dinner we shared Dante's meatballs. It comes with three meatballs and lots of extra sauce so we also got some focaccia to dip in the extra marinara. The focaccia alone was a standout and the whipped brown butter was salty and sweet at the same time. I also had the Cesare salad for dinner with grilled chicken. The house made dressing and lemon zest elevated this dish to a whole other level. My partner wanted the lasagna, but by 6 pm, they were already sold out. If the lasagna is not perfect, they don't serve it, making it more limited. Perhaps another reason to get here early too! He ended up with the Bolognese and said it was really good. For all the dishes we enjoyed and a couple drinks, we spent about $120 with tax and tip. So, Sorella is also fairly affordable considering the incredible quality.

Enjoyed a girls night dinner here, the ambience, food, and service was excellent. We had some issues with our entrees and the manager fixed the issue, the dish came back better than ever. I appreciate how they were eager to help resolve the problem and they went out of their way to make it right. I will be returning.

I felt as if our server should have told us immediately that this was a shared option, but even then to make every person pay $57 is nuts for the portion of food that you receive. We are content creator, so we happen to record every dish that we received. ( the leisurely) First thing they brought out was roasted nuts and marinated olives. (6/10). Some of the olives were hard, but the roasted nuts were pretty good. 2. My wife is allergic to shrimp so they were gonna bring out the grilled ponds but instead the chef decided to bring out brussels sprouts. (2/10). It was awful. I almost gagged legitimately, and my wife felt the same, the brussels sprouts also had a foul smell to them as if they were spoiled. - it was paired with the winter salad. In my opinion, that was the second best thing that they brought out. It was very rich in flavor, colorful as well. 3. They then brought out some pasta. Tagliatelle Pasta. This is the best thing that they brought out. The noodles were fresh and the meat choice ( roast) paired very well and it was mildly flavorful, enough to swing both ways but we'd say it swung in the right direction. I'd give it 8.5/10. 4. They then brought out steelhead trout with couscous and cauliflower with roasted carrots. - I think the audacity to give two full grown adults. A 1/3 portion of fish is quite literally disrespectful. It was so disrespectful until it just made me want to leave even more than I did whenever they brought out the brussels sprouts. The piece of fish itself was not seasoned, but it happened to pair slightly with the couscous and whatever sauce. It was quinoa actually.. (6.5/10) flavor wise. I hate really complaining about food, but this was so underwhelming.. that I may have contested the bill if my baby didn't poop out of his clothes during the visit. I will likely update this review with all of the photos once we upload the video just so everyone get an idea. ---- Overall, we would've been much happier, ordering individual dishes off the menu. I don't want to shit all over this place because I do believe it has potential, but I would not advise anyone to do the leisurely. The couple behind us actually didn't eat any of their food either and they apparently chose the same option and she was very upset so I'm glad that we weren't the only ones. I don't think we will return back to this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.

What I ordered: Focaccia bread & butter: I like it, warm and soft bread with butter, classic Chicken & Ricotta Meatballs: My most favorite, super tender and juicy meatballs. Sauce also impressive. At first it felt very comforting, rich and fatty, but then mid dinner it became too heavy and a bit too salty. I couldn't finish my portion Tiramisu: Another miss here. It's a bit too sweet for me, I would prefer a lighter flavor. I also had a lemon cocktail paired with the meal. The space is cozy and lively, many families came here for dinner. Overall, solid spot, nothing too fancy. Would come back to try other dishes.

Let's get to the nitty gritty, the food quality was very good, taste was a knock out. The pasta and sauce was good enough that I was looking for specific tastes so I could recreate it, that's what I hope for in a restaurant! And there was fresh bread, oh how I could wax poetic about fresh bread and so few restaurants are on this very simple add. Dessert - I'm always hypercritical of crème brûle because like bread it's pretty simple ingredients but takes some care, Muzuna's nailed it. The trout was fully rare when I got it...I had to ask for it to be re-fired to medium (I can handle fish at medium rare but not rare, unless it's sashimi). They were quick and accommodating about that request and the trout was delicious. The mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side were great. Our waitress was great. Friendly, patient, and willing to roll with my nonsense... which is saying something. I had a free birthday entrée (buy one, get one free), promptly ordered something that wasn't on the birthday menu, realized my mistake, and pivoted back to my usual Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter. Zero regrets. It's my go-to and it absolutely delivered. I ordered the Hearty Meal, which apparently translates to "Sir, here is a mountain of pasta." I barely finished it. I absolutely should not have finished it. I finished it anyway... because I am fat and that is how I roll. My wife ordered the Chicken Marsala. Her official review: "The chicken was OK." However... she loved the Mizithra pasta (a lot). She also enjoyed the Foundry Punch enough to have two, which is always a good sign. Between the two of us, we demolished about a loaf and a half of bread like it was our job. Dessert was spumoni ice cream. My wife had a little. I had mine... and then the rest of hers. Teamwork. The atmosphere was great. It was quiet, they had the playoff game on, so I got dinner and sports... win-win. Prices and value were exactly what you expect from OSF... no surprise fees, no menu gymnastics. They got very busy shortly after we arrived. When we sat down, it was us and one other couple in the bar. By the time we left, every table was full. Nothing wild happened, nothing bad happened... just a good, solid visit. Will we be back? Yep. And next time I might pretend I won't eat the entire plate... but we all know how that ends.
