I met with a friend downtown and since my husband doesn't like looking for parking downtown and therefore we haven't visited many of the wonderful sounding restaurants there I did a little research and we landed at Wiley's. It's a short walk from the Parkade and they had a small outdoor seating area and I took a seat and I waited outside for my friend. The inside looks clean and inviting as well but in nice weather who can resist sitting outside? We both partook of one of their unique cocktails and our waitress was helpful in questions about menu items. My friend had the beet salad and I had the wedge salad with grilled chicken. Both salads were delectable! We sat outside chatting well after they closed between their lunch and dinner crowd and our waitress told us to take all the time we wanted which I appreciated. I will be back if the opportunity arises (without the hubby!). read more

Birthday dinner at Wiley's was perfect! I finally ordered something other than my go to (beef Wellington) whiz was the duck confit and it also did not disappoint. Others in my party got the halibut special and the steak all of which said tasted great. Dessert had my go to crème brûlée and the Carmel sauce is to die for. Our waitress was super nice and very attentive. The inside had a cozy upscale vibe that is perfect for anything really. Glad I chose this place to spend my birthday read more

Dinner at Wiley's Bistro is rich, savory comfort food done right, with generous portions, familiar favorites, and a menu worth lingering over. Excellent friendly service and cozy atmosphere. Wiley's Bistro 421 W Main Ave, Ste 104 Spokane What We Ordered: * Love Bun must order every single time. Spicy heat, crunchy bread, cheesy goodness... my favorite. * Prawns are exactly what you'd expect. * Smoked Mozzarella Baguette savory, garlicky, dip-happy bread vibes. * Beet Salad is a full 10/10. Fresh, balanced, and memorable. * Wedge Salad is classic and satisfying. * Ravioli Entrée no portobello; subbed with cheese ravioli, and it worked beautifully. Creamy, peppery, parmesan goodness. * Braised Short Ribs fork-tender, rich, drenched in a delicious wine gravy. * Mud Pie coffee ice cream vibes with Aztec fudge, cookie crumble, chocolate, and whipped cream. Kid-friendly note: No official kids menu, but they're happy to whip up a grilled cheese, hamburger, or quesadilla if needed. read more

Excellent food and service! Ingredients are of superb quality and fresh. Food is very tasty and prepared perfectly! Absolutely loved the flavor profile of my salmon dish- the crab on the salmon enhanced the salmon really well and the crispy risotto cake on the bottom was lovely! Their menu is innovative and interesting. All staff are very welcoming and I'd love to come back soon! read more

4.5 Stars Delicious, unique, gourmet dishes in a cozy, classy environment. Honestly, I was drawn in by the Beef Wellington ($45+$25 on the menu). It was perfectly cooked and everything I could have hoped for it to be. A+++ from Gordon Ramsey. The chicken mushroom ravioli ($32) was also marvelous - and came in a creamy dreamy sauce. We split this between three people. The entrees all air on the salty, fatty, heavy, flavorful, rich side. Presentation of everything is beautiful. Staff are wonderful. read more

Overall, everything was really good. The burrito was great and light on the tummy. The cubano was delicious and so was the smoked mozzarella. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town. read more

Romantic, quaint bistro in the heart of downtown. Delicious cocktails and hearty offerings, this is a definite place to try! Service was fantastic! - Wiley's Old fashioned served in a bowl of ice makes this a drink to remember. I typically prefer Woodford, but this is made with Makers. I loved how cold this drink was and it was delicious! - Their dirty martini was equally delicious and ice cold. It was very dirty and blue cheese stuffed olives were a plus. - the love bun was to die for- definitely a treat l, filled with ooey gooey cheese and a solid spice from the jalapeño. - the ravioli was delicious- hearty, filling and flavorful, served with a generous portion of chicken on top. - prawn phad thai was a gamble and not your typical fast order noodle dish. This flavorful dish was beautifully presented with ample prawns. It was extra saucy and a on the sweet side, which I didn't expect for phad thai but was glad I tried . I'm not sure I'd call it phad thai and that's probably the disconnect. It's more of a veggie and prawn noodle dish with a small Asian flair, definitely not a glamorous name , haha! Dessert The crème brûlée is the dessert winner - the citrus flair was light and refreshing. The mud pie was just ok. Lots of ice cream on a cookie crust but not sure I'd call it mud pie. read more

Excellent service from Ellie today! She is efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. I asked for a recommendation on the appetizer, I had two dishes I was considering. I landed on the mozzarella and it did not disappoint! Dan was at the bar and the restaurant got busy, with Ellie leading the charge of taking care of the whole place. I can't say enough about how flawlessly professional and efficient she is! Wiley's is lucky to have her. There's music in the background, not overwhelming. Quiet enough that it does not interfere with conversation. Food, service and vibe are all great. I'm really grateful I found this place on my work trip today ! read more

Wiley's was good. I can see why the reviews are so positive. The night I went, it was extremely slow. Only one other table was occupied. I had the love bun appetizer, which was a delight for someone who loves bread as much as I do. Admittedly, it was a lot to eat by myself, but I ate probably 7/8 of it. I then had a salmon dish with crabmeat and I think over a risotto base. It was delicious with one exception - the salmon was a little dry/tough, which was disappointing considering I was visiting the Pacific Northwest and (like most) consider salmon something of a signature food for that area. I expected much better. I've had far better *pieces of salmon* in plenty of other places. However, the was it was prepared was quite excellent, so I'm chalking it up to a slow night or even an off night, subtracting one star. Other than the quality of the fish, it was a fantastic meal. If I ever have the chance to return, I expect better. read more

UPDATE: The restaurant called me yesterday. The manager was very kind, apologized for the experience, and wanted to make it right. My intention with the review was only to share my experience, not to make them feel like they owed me anything. So, for them to reach out and call me was really going above and beyond. I will definitely give them another shot. Our past experiences were genuinely so great and we really loved their food. Maybe it was just an off night. Thanks again to the restaurant for reaching out. It was very kind. read more

We tried during restaurant week, horrible service with our reservation. The food was cold and minimal. We thought maybe bad week with the rush so we tried it 3 months later. Still icy service and their take on a classic menu style item left all four of us lacking. Each of us was disappointed with our meals. Positive notes, the appetizer was great, the atmosphere is nice, really good spot for dates. I have always heard great things, just not had the experience for the two times we went. read more

Quaint small place with a couple of tables occupied when we arrived. Our night stared well with a couple of drinks and brie. However, that's about where the quality of service ended and food ended. Maybe because it was the end of the night my braised short ribs were extremely dry and the sauce was the only item that saved the dry meat. The beet salad was paired with a nice vinaigrette but this was mostly a green salad with very few beets. We would have liked another drink and water but server was not very attentive. We may try again in the future but tonight's service and most of the meal were disappointing. read more

Great food. Nice decor. Not the friendliest staff. At least that's been my experience.

As they say 'you can't go back home again'. Back in Spokane several years after my last visit and I had such a great experience at Wiley's I just knew I had to return. Made my reservation and checked out the menu online. Some new items appeared to have been added and my favorite from my first visit seems to have been retired. But still, I was looking forward to a return trip! The only problem was as I walked to where I remembered the restaurant was, it wasn't there! They had moved, to a much nicer space, with a high-end feel! How cool is that! Although my favorites from my previous visit were gone, they had a number of new options that were again delish and great on the palette. Terrific service, same as before, has not gone anywhere and in some cases, even better. So to sum up, Wiley's is a great choice in downtown Spokane for a finer dining experience (you can always hit Clinkerdagger for a more homestyle experience). read more

The atmosphere was really nice and cozy. Music playing but not so loud you can't hear one another talking. The service was top notch. We hadn't been there before so our server explained everything and answered any questions. The food was amazing. I had the crab topped salmon and the risotto cake was a great addition to the meal. I've never had anything like that. The desserts were even better! We ordered one of every dessert and boy am I glad we did. Each one was fabulous with the key lime tart being our favorite with Creme Brûlée right there next to it. I've never had such a smooth crème brûlée in my life! This isn't the best picture of the desserts, but trust me, they were so good and we will be back for sure for dinner and dessert! read more

I came here twice while living in Spokane. Once for Valentine's Day and once for my graduation dinner. Service on Valentine's Day was AMAZING with the coursed meal. Service the second time around, not so much. Regardless, the food both times were delicious. I tried the salmon the first time and the top sirloin the second time. Definitely one of the better meals I've had when living in Spokane! read more

We decided to check out Wiley's bistro from all the great reviews and my yelpers did not disappoint!!! We had a wonderful dinner. I think they were skeptical of us with our 2 kids at a foodie fine dining place, but our kids have been with us everywhere. They know how to act and love good food! Our drinks were delicious! Our food was amazing. The kids loved their food! Fast forward two years from the last review I forgot to post... We ventured to Wiley's again. The address had changed so when we arrived the building looked different. We came in and decided we hadn't been here before. After dinner I went in to post about the great meal and saw my unposted Yelp review. When we were getting ready to leave, the gal told us they had moved, lol. Our server Jaime was wonderful. Very cheerful and helpful with the menu. They had a great drink menu. My husband loved the blackberry bramble and the mango Lima was delicious as well. The special was calamari with sauces and shishito pepper and capers, we nearly licked the plate. Best part is almost the whole menu is gluten free or can be. For dinner my husband had his first ever beef Wellington. It was cooked perfectly, med rare, and he ate every bite! I ordered the special gnocchi served with Parmesan crusted salmon. It was so good, unfortunately I stuffed myself with calamari and couldn't finish it. Thank goodness for to go containers. We ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts, they were yummy as well! The worst part was our meals were so good we had no room for dessert! read more

We have been on a cross country road trip eating our way through many states in the last week. Yesterday was probably the most easy going part of our trip as we are close to our final destination. So we decided to get a proper meal in Spokane as we settled in to our hotel for the night at a reasonable time. Husband found Wiley's downtown bistro while looking through restaurants and we decided to go there. And boy am I glad we did. It was 5 star on both fronts - food and service. We got there at 8:15pm. Saw they had outdoor tables and got our pup - this made the meal all the more relaxing. While he was out getting the dog from the car, our server dropped the menus by. Husband came back and looked through the menu. Our server stopped by a couple of times but at no point did we feel rushed to place an order. We got the crab puffs, salmon and sirloin. The crab puffs were amazing. Buttery, yummy deliciousness. They were gone in no time. The salmon was good and the risotto cake was unique - crunchy and perfect pairing with the salmon. Husband loved his steak, ate most of his Yukon and had to split half his mushrooms with me because they were so darn good. To my regret I was tooo full for dessert. But it made my heart happy to have this relaxing delicious meal. Probably the most relaxed we had been in the last week or so. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! read more

As I was walking around the downtown area of Spokane on a sleepy and dreary Monday evening, Wiley's was just the place I needed to find! Inside there is a large amount of tables and a few seats at the bar. I got a table right at the window to look out on the street and loved the twinkle light vibes! My server was very helpful and able to get me exactly what I wanted. I am not a huge fan of spicy so appreciated the warning that the blackened shrimp were spicy and the waiter was able to have the chef hold off on the seasoning so I could still enjoy the dish I wanted. The chocolate mousse was well balanced and flavorful and I love that it was vegan and gluten free. The shrimp were fresh and well prepared and I loved the sweet chili sauce that they came with. Look forward to my next trip to Spokane to visit! read more

Located on Main Street in Downtown Spokane, Wiley's Downtown Bistro is the ideal place to enjoy a meal before a show at the First Interstate Center for the Arts. This restaurant has a nice wine list and local art on the walls, making it an inviting space. During my most recent visit, I sat in the bar area, so the bartender was also my server. He was a little busy taking on both roles, but still was friendly and attentive. To start I had a cup of the butternut squash soup, which was the daily soup during my visit. It was so good and sprinkled with roasted pepitas. For dinner I ordered the Cesar salad with grilled chicken. The salad was overly dressed, so maybe ask for dressing on the side or light dressing. The grilled chicken was perfectly cooked. read more

Ok... first off the food and plating was perfect! The tastes are worth the trip and a visit hands down. My only issue was the beef was over done. Now if it sat in a steamer or liquid crock pot it probably would have been juicy and off the chart but it was not there. But everything else was on point. Exceptional Experience @ Wiley's Downtown Bistro in Spokane, WA. !!! Absolutely wonderful service by Lindsey. The whole front of house worked seamlessly and very well together. The restaurant itself was small but robust and featured original oil paintings throughout. We were lucky enough to be welcomed here, as they got very busy with their reservations in the early evening hours this past Saturday. Drinks were flavorful. The Beet salad made us pucker with delight. The tasty Pescatarian entrees and their accoutrements were thoughtfully paired and savored. We'll make sure to have a reservation for the next time! Thank you so much. Highly recommend. read more

Went here for a work dinner and had a great time. We had a large party and they provided a fabulous waitress. She was so helpful and made sure we didn't want for anything. When we arrived she already had waters on the table waiting for us and came within a couple of moment to get out drink orders. The food took a while to come out but luckily we ordered appetizers to take the edge off. We got the garlic crestini, the warm bre and soup/salads. Everything was very tasty and came with exceptional service. My entree, the Short Rib was very beautiful when it arrived but the taste didn't match. The rib was dry and chewy but the green peppercorn sauce was tasty. The potatoes were rich and perfectly seasoned but cold and stiff when they arrived. I chose not to bring this up as our party was large, it was already late and they were so kind to stay open past closing for our group. Everyone enjoyed their food and I will absolutely go back to try a different dish. Next time I would like to try a lunch option. read more

I had a reservation at 6:30 but we had an issue with our plans beforehand and I called to see if they could get us in earlier and they could get us in a spot at the bar tables. Cool! We showed up and it was empty but quickly filled up so I was glad I called. The place was cute- exposed brick with artwork by local artists, twinkle lights and 90's music. Very cute. The waitress was very sweet and made me a delicious mango-ginger mocktail which I really enjoyed. My husband got a pomegranate martini. We ordered the halibut fish cakes (the special) and the love bun for an appetizer. The halibut was not my taste at all--there was a very Smokey flavor that overpowered anything. I only ate a couple bites but my husband was super hungry so he ate them even though he didn't care for them either. The love bun however was the star of the show-- best thing we ordered! I got short ribs and my husband got the sirloin. The short rib meat was ok but wasn't anything standout. I ate a couple bites and boxed the rest. The potatoes were soooo salty I couldn't even eat them. My husband liked his steak but also said his potatoes were too salty. I was really very bummed with the majority of the food but the ambiance and service was great. Likely won't be coming back here. read more

The service was amazing. Our waitress was so nice and attentive but my salmon was sooooo dry. Apparently everyone else at my table didn't enjoy their food either. The appetizers were delightful. Came in on a Thursday night and it was booming. I didn't have reservations but I was seated at the bar with my husband immediately, which I appreciated. It does get busy, so if you want to ensure a table or have a larger group, I recommend reservations. I got a cocktail and thought it was good, tasted good with a bit of flair to it. Ordered the beet salad and short rib. It was really cool how they split one portion into two plates for us to share (: The shirt ribs was delicious, but took longer than it should have... it was about 45 minutes before our dinner came. Cool and sugary Crème Brûlée for dessert. Portions were perfect (we shared), service was great Makyla was excellent. Attentive but not hovering.
