Let me start this off with saying this, the staff was so nice. Our waitress was super friendly. It did take FOREVER to get service(they weren't real busy), but she was very sweet. The waffle was ok. We haven't been here since they switched owners and it was time to give them a try. It's nice that they are also open for supper now. We were offered any seat in the house and chose a booth away from the front door. Drinks were brought quickly and our breakfast for supper order was taken. It did take quite a bit of time for the meal to come out (30+ min) but ultimately it was worth the wait. Both omelette's were very tasty and the waffle side I'm told was excellent. My side of biscuits and gravy was also very good. A soda and two omelettes set us back around $40+ tip. The place was nice and clean with Halloween decorations in place. Just discovered a couple of months ago that Waffles Plus is open for dinner. Been there for fabulous breakfasts, so, was anxious to try dinner. I'm definitely not a vegetarian but eggplant is one of my favorite vegetables. The Miso Glazed Eggplant sounded intriguing! Told the owner I better try it before it disappears from the menu since it's not usually very popular. It did not disappoint!!! Two nice eggplant slices (lengthwise), buried under perfectly sautéed Brussels sprouts, mushrooms & rainbow carrots and extremely tasty well seasoned rice. I didn't really notice the butternut squash purée but didn't miss it either. A really nice surprise was the Senior, Kids & Light Meals section. Great selection and variety of breakfast, lunch & dinner items. My friend had the Beef Pot Roast over mashed potatoes, served with a nice soft dinner roll. Very delicious and tender beef roast with a savory gravy. She said it was absolutely delicious! The menu makes my mouth water! There are so many different choices with the majority under $20. Finally got around to trying this place! It's been on my list for a while now! Atmosphere: definitely gives you a small, mom and pop breakfast house feel. It's smaller inside than I imagined, but it also didn't feel overly crowded. Service: we had a bit of a wait, but multiple made sure to check in with us and let us know our table would be ready soon. Once we got seated our server was on top of things and very sweet. The food also came out quickly, which was great because I was so hungry! Food: I got the country scramble with bacon instead of sausage and a side of gravy. It was delicious! Lots of food - definitely hit the spot. Venerable breakfast professionals. On all my visits over the years I've never ever considered getting any of their lunch options, because breakfast is such a solid bet. I'd venture to say that is probably the opinion of many others, as well. Most of their products are FSA/Sysco pre-fab, but it's all just so hearty and satisfying that it really doesn't matter to me. I had such high hopes when we walked in. Unfortunately, the griddle broke down (no big deal on the delay), but when our food came out, it was not great. Half of the French toast was rock hard. Mine and husband's eggs were both cold. My sausage link seems like it was deep fried instead of cooked on the griddle? Either way, we had no plans to complain as every business has an off day now and then. But...our server asked when she saw how much of my French toast was left if i did not like it. I politely said "not really." She then seemed perturbed, told me she won't charge for it, then told me I should have said something earlier (when? She hadn't been by since she dropped off the syrup). She very loudly tossed our plates into the buss bin. The food was disappointing, but as I said, every place has an off day. Everyone is very friendly here and service is great. They have an interesting menu but we ordered standard fare. My husband had a waffle that was golden brown and served with a selection of three syrups. His breakfast waffle also came with one egg and 2 slices of bacon. He was happy. My breakfast was a number 5 (I think) and had one egg, hash browns, 2 sausages, and sourdough toast. I asked for crispy hash browns and our server even wrote "extra crispy" on the ticket. What I got was barely golden and barely crisp. Completely soft and white under the few crisp shreds. It's crazy to me that breakfast places don't serve crispy hash browns. I hardly ever eat them so when I do, I want them to be worth it! We'll probably go back but I won't be ordering hash browns. read more

Small establishment but wonderful quick service. I'm not from around here, but was on a trip with my boyfriends and his friends for a Powerlifting meet (6 of us), and this breakfast establishment was very quick to get us seated, serve us, and put up with us (One girl, me, and five guys. Have been here many times and loved the food, atmosphere and cost, but wanted to comment on something that happened recently. We stopped by on a Sunday about an hour before closing to get a lunch/late breakfast fix, and were told to sit anywhere we wanted. We asked to sit on the patio because it was a lovely afternoon, and we had our small dog with us - she's the model of decorum, I promise :). The hostess explained that the patio had already been broken down for the day, but then conferred with one of the waitstaff and set us up with an outdoor table anyway! I had a spanish omelet and a blueberry and whipped cream topped waffle (always get a waffle when you're here - even if you consider yourself a bigger fan of pancakes or french toast), and my wife had grilled cheese with sweet potato fries. The food and service was excellent as per usual, and we were treated like royalty every minute of our stay! We'll be back as soon as we're in the neighborhood, and might even make a special trip or two even if we aren't. So let's talk about the dinner menu. It is extensive and delivers maximum comfort: Fried chicken, catfish, chicken cordon bleu, ribs, schnitzel. I, however, have only tried one thing. Roasted Turkey and stuffing waffle served with mashed potatoes, vegetables, brown gravy, dinner rolls, and cranberry sauce. Over and over again every time I go. I look at the other options. I pretend that maybe I'll try the shepherd's pie or the meatloaf. But in the end I always go for that goddamn turkey dinner. And I don't even like turkey. It is just so tasty and comforting; exactly what a Thanksgiving dinner should be. A lot of places in Spokane overpromise (trendy light fixtures, fancy plating) but under-deliver (bland, expensive, regrettable food). Dinner at WP underpromises (classic PNW diner vibe and decidedly untrendy) and overdelivers (tasty, undeniably comforting and unabashedly straightforward). lRight now at least it's my favorite eat in the whole city. Mmm.. Waffles! Waffles Plus is a small little diner that kept its ways in Spokane with delicious Waffles and housemade syrups! I was introduced by my boyfriend's father to have breakfast here one cold morning. With a couple of coffees and orange juices we witnessed how extremely packed this little place can get! They somehow forgot to fill my coffee for half an hour lol. For breakfast I decided on the Half Pint- two eggs omelette with tomatoes, bell peppers, onions and ham! Oh it was delicious! And also a choice of either waffles, hash browns and/or toast. I had to try their waffles and it was by far the crunchiest, most buttery waffle ever! There's 4 syrups you can use with their waffles. Apricot, blueberry, raspberry and classic maple. Raspberry is my favorite. Other great selections from what we had at the table are the German Sausage and Cheese omelettes with hashbrowns or waffles. Yesterday was my dad's Celebration Of Life so lots of family in town. Our loud but fun family came in & took over a big table- we couldn't have asked for a better exspiernce... our sever was so SO wonderful (I wish I could remember her name). This place is great! A classic, American breakfast joint in Spokane. The Betty's Secret is my favorite dish. A "kitchen sink" breakfast, with all the trimmings!
