Do not use this service ever. They have the worst customer service I have ever received. They canceled my Dolly due to the items being 600 pounds - per their website they have moved over 600 pounds of Hay. They then said I would be paying the cancelation fee and I will not be getting a refund. I am continuing to contact them. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. You can't get in touch with a single live person to escalate anything and if you call for help services they just say they will escalate the issue and you'll receive email contact with no additional context. Highly disappointed - I will never use them again. read more

I'm a widow and I bought a couch from a private seller. Facebook marketplace suggested using "Dolly" and couldn't be happier with the service! Super nice guys and very helpful! They were also willing to help the seller with some furniture moving before they delivered the couch to my place! I would recommend this service! Price was very reasonable for a 3 piece motorized sectional! They sent a photo of the truck they would use along with their photos so it was super safe! read more

Dolly - 3 piece sectional couch they put into place! - Movers Near Me

Terrible experience. Mover complained the minute he got to my house. Was condescending and would not let me speak. I requested two guys since the one large dresser was so heavy. Instead of getting another qualified mover - he brought his aged parents with to help. I did feel they were capable of moving heavy furniture. He ended up leaving the dressers in my garage. Will never recommend this company. No response so far on this situation from anyone at Dolly movers. I will not pay the full amount charged for a task that was not completed. read more

I've used Dolly three times and two times I had really good experiences and one time I had a really poor experience. My biggest complaint about dolly is that you're not able to request the same movers each time. If you could then I would give them better reviews but one time the second time that I use them I had terrible movers and they told me that if I wanted to request any money back they would take it from the movers themselves and tell them who complained. I didn't feel comfortable having them do that so I just let it go and was unhappy about it. Poor customer service as far as I'm concerned read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I gave all the necessary information about moving this heavy dining table when I requested a quote. When the guys showed up, they had just a small set of wheels that wasn't going to support the marble slab, even though I'd told them ahead of time. After a few minutes on the phone with their "support number" I was told that the job was being cancelled and that I would be paying a "cancellation fee" that was equal to the entire cost of the job (180.00). I made it clear that I was not cancelling; they were unprepared to do the job that they were contracted to do. I was told to call customer support, which I did. It is an overseas call center. You can't actually converse with them. They just read from a script. So I'm supposed to hear something in 24-48 hours, but hopes are not high, based on my experience, so far. If a refund is not granted, I'll be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau as my next step. read more

They employ the "race to the bottom" approach to business, which means they won't last long and, from what I've read, very few movers think it's worth the very low pay. We had a two bedroom move but the movers canceled and Dolly didn't give a crap. And of course, they outsource support, so the support is trash. Don't bother with this scam. read more

Terrible service. I booked a dolly to move a couple appliances in my house, and should have known it was a bad idea when the task was reassigned three times. The third helper actually showed up, but when I told him the assistant hadn't arrived yet he made a phone call, then just left without saying anything and cancelled my task. read more

Beware! I have an open damage claim they are now pushing back on. The movers caused about $4000 of flooring, wall and stairwell damage moving a dresser. The "Helpers" said don't worry file a claim with Dolly. Dolly has denied the claim. Now, I need to file a small claim case against them. It's total BS that they can send movers that damage your home then claim no responsibility. The company has a $1 million liability coverage. So I don't understand why they aren't using it here. Only use movers with employees and proper insurance. The "Helpers" are essentially non employee contractors like Uber Drivers. read more

I would highly recommend against using this service! I was recommended to use this service via Facebook marketplace while buying an item outside of the area I was able to pick something up. I set up the pickup by two helpers and a time in coordination with the item seller and selected a two hour pick up window. When I was contacted by Dolly they let me know the pickup window would be narrowed down to a 15 minute window. The pick up took place 4 and a half hours later than the window which was embarrassing having to communicate to the person I was buying the item from. When the delivery arrived at my home I left cash out for a tip for the two helpers and gave instructions where I'd like it to be placed for a no contact delivery. It turns out there was only one helper and he struggled to get the item out of his van which was not secured in place at all, and almost dropped it brining it inside. The item now is slightly warped and I'm working to get it level now. I contacted Dolly to let them know about the experience of being mislead about the service because I had paid for two helpers to ensure the product wasn't damaged and left a tip for two people as well. I also let them know about the 4 and a half hour delay with no communication after reaching out to the driver multiple times after he had texted to confirm. The person I spoke to let me know they would "investigate" and I even offered to send them footage from my Ring system to prove I wasn't lying. What they then did was amend my receipt and resend it to me to show they were charging me the same amount but it now reflected only booking one helper. This is an outright scam! read more

This review is solely based on Dolly, not the private movers who they hired to move me. Although they did break the leg off my 60 inch TV and acted like it was my fault?? How do I break a metal piece and screws when I had no access to it. Anyways, if you want a peaceful move DO NOT USE DOLLY!!!!!! The customer service is awful, not to mention obviously nobody speaks English and can help you. I had issues with them adding the correct amount of items to my move. I called them three times to re-add to the list of things that needed to be moved by the movers ( before the move !!) and day of " it wasn't in my list" and each time of course the price went up by $100-$200, they kept forgetting to add the items. My move was an entire two bedroom two bath apartment move and when they showed up, they said that no boxes were listed to be taken when I know I told them 15 boxes ( only ended up with 4). And they still wanted $300 more ) they refused to take boxes, dining room table and recliner and TV stand even though they were all something that I asked to be added to the list two times, they just don't understand English and messed up twice. I ended up getting my stuff moved another way cough cough don't want to get them in trouble, but it has been a nightmare. When I asked if I could add on the items totaled out to an extra $400, when my move total was only $630, it is a joke and I know they forget to add items so that they can charge you higher because it's during the processing move time. Edna or whatever her name is because you can't understand them was horrible horrible customer support super rude and hung up on me multiple times during my move as I was stressing out to get everything out of the apartment. Then when it came time to take payment, they took two days to take it out when I told them the money I had in my checking account was solely for them.. if they didn't take it, it would be taken by another vendor, super super stressful if you want move, do not use!!!!! read more

I'm back to write a second review and add photos this time! Whatever you do, do not! I repeat do not hire dolly. This is the most awful place! They allow their workers to bring their girlfriends along and make out while moving, they will leave your belongings and not move everything if it dosnt fit in the truck. And they will break everything you own to top it off. They have you jump through hoops to process a claim for damages and then tell you to go through a third party to be reimbursed... which takes WEEKS!!!! WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT HIRE DOLLY!!!! SCAMERS, UNPROFESSIONAL AND USELESS! They scuffed all my walls in my new place that I had just had painted.... to top it off they still won't tell me who this mystery woman that was making out with the worker was..... they are not professional movers. Do not hire. read more

The two people that moved the items were great. No issues there. The problem started and continues with getting the payment. The hold was put on the amount at the bank, when they went to complete the charge it went through but was then immediately refunded. Dolly support said my card was declined and that I have to enter another payment method. The story then changed to them getting an "error" when trying to do the charge. No issues with my card, my bank said the charge was approved but refunded on Dolly's end. I told Dolly support, but they insisted they have done nothing wrong and the problem is with my bank. I deleted my card and tried to re-add it, but immediately got an error "problem getting gateway token". Obviously, an issue with the server they use to process payments. They again insisted it was my bank and tried to get me to read out my card number over the phone, which I refused. I then tried to re-add my card using the mobile app. This time a more detailed error "Problem generating a client token from Braintree" Braintree is an online payment solution service. I'm assuming that is what Dolly uses to process payments. Their support either didn't know or refused to tell me what error they were seeing when they tried to process the payments. I'm curious as if it was the same that I received. I tried to get an escalation from phone support but was told they had no one to escalate issues to. They insisted during the call I give them my card over the phone and the issue with adding my card online was with my bank. Bottom line, no issue with my bank, looks like Dolly's online payment solution, Braintree, is having issues, but this is somehow my fault. Does this review cover all of Dolly?? Horrible! I booked and paid online, then flew in from out of state, to the house for the items to be moved in and the "dolly helpers" confirmed and then were a no show. I went through a major pain to get ahold of a human to question what was happening. She said that I would need to rebook but she could not guarantee that anyone would show up to do the job. She also could not confirm that they had workers available in our area! So you book, pay, wait, and go through the process AGAIN just to have another no show. Ridiculous. Now I am hoping to get my refund. I would give this lousy company ZERO stars if it was an option. read more

I was disappointed with dolly. Never really got to using thier services. The booking process was easy enough ...Booked on a Tuesday and had to cancel that Friday for 'unable to locate hellper". My problem is, they don't let you know they can't find a helper until they are supposed to be at the appointment. They did this 3 times for 3 days from 11am to 5 each day. Wasted a lot of my time. I might mention my item was booked as a refrigerator delivery and haul away so they were aware that more than 1 person was needed. Thank you for your efforts. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. DO NOT BOOK WITH DOLLY. STAY AWAY, AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to book with dolly. We booked a whole apartment move with Dolly. Their movers only moved half of our apartment and ditched us in the middle of our move. We called their customer service line after we realized the movers had left us and they said "someone will be reaching out to you in 48 hours via email". How is that supposed to fix my issue at hand?? They ruined our entire moving experience and made it the most stressful move of our lives and ended up costing us thousands of dollars in damages and in remedying their incompletion of the job at hand. They destroyed all of our brand new furniture, and the claim submission process is a joke. Their customer service won't advocate for you and will give you an amount back that almost feels like a joke, and it won't be given back to you for three months after you file a claim. We have an estimated 4000 dollars in damages and they responded they would be giving us 600 dollars back. Absolutely offensive. They exploit their customers and refuse to remedy their shortcomings or take accountability for their actions. Learn from my mistakes. Do not use their services. They will screw you out of thousands of dollars and won't do anything to fix it. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

Horrific experience. Two "helpers" showed up on time, as scheduled, to move a refrigerator. It all went very badly from there. The "helpers" were woefully unprepared, despite the fact that they were only moving a refrigerator. They totally botched the job. With much unnecessary difficulty, they moved the refrigerator off of my covered back deck and out into my yard. That's when one of the "helpers" cut his hand and then both of them gave up and ended up leaving the refrigerator in my yard. Then they "cancelled" the job and left. So now, the refrigerator is still sitting out in my yard and it's about to rain. NEVER, NEVER , NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. THEY SUCK SOOOOO BAD. read more

I would give this a zero if I could! I used Dolly very successfully years ago but this time around it's been horrible. 1) I scheduled a store pick up well in advance and then got a text the night prior from the helper that he thinks it's going to rain and I'll need to upgrade to a box truck. I didn't want to upgrade for an additional $100 bc the forecast didn't say rain until late afternoon. It didn't rain and the order was unfulfilled. 2) I had placed an order to move a few boxes. The guy showed up and kept telling me I should have ordered another helper and he's not getting paid very much. I tipped very generously but I should not have been guilted that way. They should know based on the info/pictures I sent and contact me. 3) I placed an order for a store pickup. Again, I was told I need a box truck for $200 more! I asked the guy to call me. He then proceeded to tell me he's working during the day but can deliver my sofa in the evening. It was scheduled for 11am. He said he can give me a better price than Dolly bc he doesn't get paid that much. He's essentially building his book of business thru the app and asking people to pay him cash. Even told me how to cancel without getting a penalty. 4) I decided to go with someone else. Dolly called me to reschedule bc they Couldn't find a helper. I was frustrated so I asked them to just cancel. They said OK and 5 min later I got a helper confirmation. I had to jump on a call again to try to untangle what's been done. After arguing they agreed to cancel and refund without penalty. If you have all the time in the world to manage this chaos, by all means, use them. But I've spent too much time chasing answers and being upsold. Unreliable if you're on a time table. read more

Hate long reviews so here is the best I can do of a summation. 1st time: It was perfect. 2nd time: One helper was late leaving the other having done most of the work. 3rd time: Today the helper contacted me at 6am to confirm 10-1030 window to not show up. This was the second day of scheduling conflicts with the companies system. And I attempted several times to contact the helper with no response. Now Dolly wants to change me a cancellation for their helpers lack of professionalism for doing what exactly I do not know. Use at your own risk. read more

MY DOLLY MOVERS ROBBED ME I hired Dolly for an apartment move 3 weeks prior to move date. The night before the move date Dolly rescheduled my start time & changed who my movers were. I was already in contact with my previous movers too discussing details of the furniture pieces. First attempt to contact Dolly about rescheduling & received NO RESPONSE. The new movers were hours late.. then came my second and third attempt to contact Dolly & received NO RESPONSE! I noticed after the move that one box was missing and when I went to unpack the rest of boxes not even an hour after they left... I had empty boxes that were re-taped and all the stuff was taken out. Really this a pretty bad service, Dolly itself is no help what so ever. The 'helper' was very nice, an hour and 45 minutes late, and would not communicate with me for two hours about what time he would arrive as he was driving. When he did arrive he was very efficient. Wow, I can't recommend this company at all unless you have a very small move. I submitted all of my items online to include bee, frame, headboard, mattress, box spring, couch, loveseat, breakfast table and chairs. I got a $251.00 quote and submitted it. About 30 mins later, I got a confirmation with two helpers and, get this, a Toyota crew cab pickup truck with a camper, see picture. How in the world are they going to move a full couch with this pickup?!? The guys texted and I told them the pick up won't work physically just won't work. They said they could make it work and then "is it ok it we take two trips?" Two trips?! It'll take at least 5 back and forth across town. The couch would half hang off the truck. It would be very dangerous. For safety and in fairness to everyone, I had to cancel but yet still got stuck with a 20% cancellation fee. I had no choice but to cancel because this company assigned a small pickup which does not make any sense and is truly an unsafe and dangerous option. Again, if you have a dresser or one small bed, maybe, but stay away otherwise. read more

The Dolly helper said he was going to be very late, which forced me to have to cancel the furniture move. I spoke to both an employee and supervisor and both said I still had to pay them 20%, which was a lot of money for the job I had scheduled. An e-mail to the CEO went unanswered as of the time of this review. I've read more complaints like this one and would NOT recommend using Dolly. I will be using Task Rabbit going forward, and I was your longest standing customer, since 2015. A complaint was subsequently filed with the Better Business Bureau. The following was an alert posted by the Better Business Bureau warning customers about Dolly, Inc. and all of the monetary losses caused by Dolly, Inc. So far, 168 complaints have been filed against Dolly, Inc., and 54% of the complaints have gone unanswered at the time of this review, which spans over a 3 year period. On April 12, 2021, Better Business Bureau recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding delivery and customer service issues. Consumers allege Dolly, Inc damaged their belongings and/or homes during their moves. Further, consumers claim Dolly, Inc. failed to provide adequate compensation for these damages when they went through the business' claims process despite purchasing additional insurance through the company. Consumers express confusion over how to reach customer service and allege that Dolly, Inc is slow to respond to claims for damaged items or other issues likely to result in payouts. Some consumers told BBB the company drew out the claims process unnecessarily, and many reported the business stopped responding to them altogether, resulting in monetary loss. Complainants further claim movers displayed unprofessional behavior such as the use of inappropriate language, and that their movers arrived late or cancelled altogether with little notice. read more

This company is a joke. Not at all transparent that their likelihood of actually getting a "helper" assigned to your booking is slim. I booked a simple furniture move -- a pickup from a retail store to our home -- and saw the booking confirmed screen with a note that I would get a notification with a 30-minute window once my order was assigned. I waited at home all day and no one turned up, it was never assigned. I called and was told they needed to reschedule the delivery window later in the night, which I said was no problem (mind you, I never heard from them that they wouldn't be able to fulfill the order -- I had to call them). Waited around the rest of the night and it was never assigned. They rescheduled me (again, I had to call them) for the next day -- SAME THING. I was very disappointed with Dolly. I requested 2 movers & a pick-up truck and clearly gave them the dimensions of the bar cabinet. My original driver & his partner had to cancel the day before, due to his baby being born. I was sent 2 young men that pulled up in a tiny pick-up truck. They said "No speak English" when they got out of the truck. They didn't have any tarps or equipment, they only had a 2' x 2' dolly, 2 rubber car mats & packing tape for boxes. They started wrapping the cabinet with the packing tape and before I could get them to stop they had wrapped the front doors & sides. The gentleman I bought the furniture & I were in TOTAL DISBELIEF! They tried to move the cabinet inch by inch. The Seller had to lend me a blanket so they could lean the very expensive piece of furniture on, so it didn't get any more scratched while they were sliding it on the back of the pick-up. Needless to say, it only GOT WORSE! Once they brought the piece of furniture in. I gave them moving blankets and a soft blanket to put under the furniture & showed them there was a light on the ceiling so they have to slide it. The one guy said ok and the other guy just lifted the furniture and pulled the light fixture right out of the ceiling...DRYWALL & THE LIGHT FIXTURE! I filled out a Claim on their website and I still have not heard from them. I am going to have to call my Credit Card and cancel the charges! We purchased 3 pieces of furniture from Crate & Barrel Outlet in Naperville, IL and had seen tent cards around the store advertising Dolly for moving items that you purchase if you don't wish to move them yourself. We thought that if Crate & Barrel were recommending Dolly with tent cards around the store we would place our trust in them to move our furniture. We had a sofa, office desk and credenza that we paid Dolly to have 2 helpers move to our home in Chicago. When the Dolly mover arrived he was alone and didn't have a second helper and asked if we could help to move the furniture....Strike 1! When the back of the moving van was opened the top of the credenza was scratched and the top end was collapsed. The desk was turned upside down and the computer keyboard had flown out and was laying to the right of the desk....Strike 2! The sofa was the only piece to "survive" The desk and credenza were a matching piece and we refused to accept delivery of both pieces due to the damage. When we contacted Crate & Barrel to investigate we received this response from them: "After our phone call earlier this evening, I went through with my team to try to get a better understanding of what exactly happened. Upon talking with the associates that were present at the time of loading, as well as checking with notes that were made at the time of loading, the pieces were in good condition upon arriving within our pickup door, however the loading by Dolly was done haphazardly. From both associates I had talked to, it looks as if Dolly had loaded the media piece on top of both the desk and sofa, and did not secure these items before leaving our dock door." Today we received a email after filing a claim with Dolly for $2164.00 for the 2 pieces plus tax and they offered us $300.00 max for damages and said the items can be fixed. You can't just order a replacement top for a walnut credenza from Crate & Barrel. When we paid for this delivery we expected our items to be cared for and delivered just as they were from the store without any damages. Unfortunately Dolly doesn't want to accept any responsibly for their carelessness....Strike 3! I would absolutely not use this service nor should Crate & Barrel have tent cards advertising Dolly delivery as it has been an absolute nightmare dealing with Dolly claims. We know we can't trust Dolly and now we find it difficult to ever place our trust in Crate & Barrel who recommended Dolly in the first place. read more

I'm 57, and I have had a few experiences, and I will say Dolly.com is the worst business I have ever done business with. Do not use them; you will regret it. They canceled me three times in one day, each reason being stupider than the next. I would love to know how they are an actual business. Also, I was told that customers aren't allowed to talk to a manager. Managers don't talk to customers. The person answering the phone has to take care of the issue, and there is no taking care of an issue with them. The more I talked to them, the madder I got. My card will be charged, I'm sure of it but I've already called my bank. I started to think I was getting scammed, it was that crazy but I don't think that's it.
