This Dollar Tree was next door to CVS so I figured, what the heck. I'll look around. And boy was I surprised. Quite a bit of the Dollar Tree's items are high quality. I usually spend 5-10 dollars on hair bands and here, 99 cents for the same style. While they lack most of my brand name items they're great for birthdays and movie theater candy, items 50 cents to dollars cheaper than next door at CVS. While they wouldn't be my one stop shop, they are a great resource if you're on a budget and need low priced bulk items. Especially if they carry the brand name items you use. All in all, I definitely like this location and will probably be back for more hair bands :D read more

I would give it 0 stars if I could. There are never enough people working the cashiers. Today I even waited until almost 2:00 pm to avoid the crowds, and there was only ONE cashier working (poor guy) ! There were about 55 people in line (no joke) and a girl comes up and looks at us all in the line, then says "I am taking my break and when I get back you can go to lunch"! UNBELIEVEVABLE! Not exactly great customer service! There should be at least 2-3 people on the registers at all times! I worked in retail my whole early life. The lack of cashiers is the exact reason that they are robbed all the time!! I really hope the corporate office reads these reviews......... read more

Huge location, and everything's a dollar! Love the Dollar Tree chain as opposed to some others, like Dollar General or Family Dollar, where prices are not all a dollar and you get shafted on some purchases. Selection was decent here, though the back to school teacher supply area has been raided so I missed out on some of the materials I'd planned to pick up. Good selection of kids toys, activities, games, and puzzles. Customer service was odd here. Many employees were stocking shelves and arranging displays during my visit, but only two super slow registers were open. Some staff doing stocking were super noisy, throwing things around roughly and loudly rolling carts into and out of the back employee stocking area- it was very loud and distracting. Most peculiar thing I noticed was an older Asian guy mean-mugging the cashier from the front of the store. I suspect he was a manager or something, though he lacked a name tag and the cashier herself never addressed him. The whole experience of her slowly and silently ringing up items as he aggressively scowled at her, was strange and awkward. Will be coming back in a few weeks for fall decor and Halloween supplies! You don't find too many dollar stores these days where everything is really JUST $1, but this one is. They have a big variety in things they sell here. They even carry my favorite Luigi Italian Ice in lemon flavor! I was so excited that I snagged 3 boxes at once. Must buy a new freezer now! :P read more

Merchandise isn't terrible, just messy all the time. 2 stars earned for staff, one employee who wore her hair in a braid and was restocking when I first entered the store, cut the long line full of 10 plus people so she can purchase her items. I was checking out and she approached my cashier and said "no customers" when there clearly was a long line as usual. Of course her cashier friend helped her happily and ignored the line. I said thank you when the transaction was finished, was simply ignored. Look, I've worked in retail for years, all types of jobs. I always give great customer service, even if I don't want to be there, even if I'm in a bad mood, it's the right thing to do if you actually care about anything in life, sad to say some of these employees don't. Ahh the dollar tree *comes in for one thing* **grabs cart** I love dollar tree! A bunch of useless things that I know will come in handy... Or not but its only $1!!! Why not! Go crazy! Usually come here for house supplies, school supplies, and whenever I'm feeling crafty! The parking lot here isn't that great, depending on what time you come. 10/14/19 I'm writing a new review because the experience I had today was horrifying. There was a older man pushing that works there pushing a flat bed with boxes stacked really high he couldn't not see over them. He was pushing the flat bed really fast with out looking to see if anyone was in front and slammed into my cart that the cart went flying down the aisle. If I hadn't moved he would of ran me over. He did not even care he just said sorry I told him he could of really hurt someone and all he said was I said I was sorry And walked away. Very unprofessional and it was a huge safety hazard. Came in today 30 mins before closing and saw the line was ridiculous I thought there was only one person working because there was only one cashier. I'm standing in line at the store and have been in-line now for about 5 mins. The check walks away for about 5 mins, says nothing to no one and just walked off. She comes back, shuts off her light and says I'm closed now, move to register 4. What the actual F? I told her we have been waiting for awhile, at least check us out. She just walked off and said nothing. The lady in front of me are both annoyed and move into the other line an now there at 5 people in front of me. Literally a 1/2 a min in line and I hear the freaking lady that closed her line and walked off sat register 2 is open now. What the actual F!!!!?! I regularly visit this store for fancy stuff during various occasions. This is a good place to find supplies for parties and look for festive decorations. They had nice collection both for Halloween and Christmas. And it's just $1. Take all my bucks!!! Just the parking here is bad. The location is very convenient. read more

Found all I needed and way more! My birthday is coming up next week and this Sunday I am throwing a party, so first store that came to my mind to buy all the cutest, craziest and funniest (plus cheapest) napkins, tablecloths, cuttlery and everything was the Dollar Tree. I went to this one for no particular reason (just because was in our way of eating something Korean with a colleague) and was not expecting the great amount of items. I think this is my favorite Dollar Tree in the area so far. Very nice personnel working there as well (and they, check those apple green Nike shirts they have as uniform. Very cute!). read more

Store Manager Russell was very unprofessional when I visited today just before lunch. There was an issue at one of the registers that required a manager code. Russell was on lunch and he did not answer his cell phone to assist when the cashiers reached out to him. Once he returned he told customers (there was close to 20 of us. some of which had been in line more than 10 minutes at this point) that he did not have to answer his cell phone if he didnt want to and proceeded to be confrontational with customers and the 2 cashiers. This is not the attitude one would expect from a retail store manager. He made several of the customers uncomfortable with his actions. However, The 2 female cashiers that were working at the time were very professional and they were very apologetic of the situation. I give them 5 stars. (wish I got their names) read more

It's really sad because we have a favorite Korean restaurant that we go to often and then love to go to the Dollar Tree next door. We never had a problem with this store until today. We were in a good mood that night, celebrating my birthday and then a haircut, all in that same plaza. My wife first goes in with our two children. She is approached by the store manager, a dirty blonde lady in her fifties, that my wife is to keep an eye on the children so they don't make a mess. My wife told me this when I later came into the store and we thought how odd it was for her to tell us this when the children weren't even making a mess. First, we have a 1 year old child that can barely walk, so what kind of mess can he make? Second, we have a 2 year old child that was busy playing with her lollipop that she received after I got a haircut next door. Then, my wife leaves the store with our 1 year old child to put him in the car and I'm getting ready to pay for the items with my 2 year old child, who is still playing with her lollipop. I am approached by that same manager to make sure I keep an eye on my child because if she makes a mess, "she has to clean up the mess and she doesn't want to do that." That is now twice that she warned us. When I was at the cash register, I kindly told her it was not courteous of her telling me to watch my children TWICE when they weren't making a mess. She then tells me it's "store policy." Huh? It would be common courtesy of the customers to watch their children though, which we did. I asked her if she saw my children make a mess, and then she tells me she did. On my way out the store, she is still arguing with me and she is VERY lucky I was with my 2 year old child or else I would've really spoken my mind out. My wife is outraged because of the manager falsely accusing our children of making a mess. She goes back in and asked her if she saw our children make a mess and she replied no. Huh? So she is a liar as well. I hope they have cameras there so we can prove our point. If my kids really did make a mess, I'm ok with her telling me. But to approach us twice without making a mess? That seems like discrimination to me! I will definitely being going to corporate and making sure this case gets settled and that no one else gets discriminated like that. I even kindly apologized to the male cashier about my argument with the manager because I didn't want to be falsely accused of something that didn't happen and didn't want to put him at wrong. This manager definitely needs to work on her people skills and concentrate on her job in doing all she can to make sure that customers leave the store satisfied. Instead, she decides to argue with us until we take our last step out the door. First falsely accusing me and then telling my wife, "yeah, you get out of this store!" Wow! Never coming back here again or possibly any Dollar Tree stores. They really need to train their managers better than this. As a manager, that is a sad representation of this store and not a good way to show your staff on how to treat customers. I don't know if she was just having a bad day or just not a happy type of person, but she's got issues. read more

Dollar Tree--4 stars Who would've thought dollar tree would be a great place for finding discounted glasses! I had an emergency failure with the cylinders I ordered online. I needed glasses fast and they had to look like cylinders for wedding centerpieces, and I was in luck! I snagged 35 glasses about 7" high all for $1 each, great bargain! I swear it felt like I bought the entire shelf gone, I was glad they had enough in stock. And they were probably better than the ones I wanted! The store here is clean and neat. The cashier was nice as well, even though I held up the line with a cart of glasses and we had to paper wrap every single one of them! Note: they don't do returns! Dollar Tree Online--3 stars I found 12" cylinders online for $1 and had to buy them! I rush ordered it but only one case got delivered. I'm still waiting for my refund, I had an exception! Can't believe I didn't know about Dollar Trees before! This one is HUGE! Parking is a pain in this small lot, and not a whole lot of shopping carts for this large store either. A lot of good items, but I noticed things had been tampered with or not as many of an item either. This Dollar Tree store is kinda hidden Off the beaten path. Unlike most dollar store this one is not pack, (maybe cuz i got earlier in the moring ) No one is ever in line before me. The items and shelves are nicely stocked, Isle are wide and everything in order. I usually get the snacks here and sometimes I just look around that just catches my eye. Dollar Tree is my kind of store. This one is larger, cleaner and more organized than the location in Sunnyvale. There is also plenty of parking. I only buy the cheap party supplies here (table covers, party favors, etc.). This location seems to have more party favor selections than other locations. They also have a wedding supply section that is kind of strange to me. read more

It was pretty messy by the time I got there around 8:30pm (they close at 10) on a weekday night but they still had enough useful/useless stuff on the shelves. Just recently read an article about how Dollar Stores are trying to up there game and now include some name brand soups and cleaning supplies. I went in for a couple items. I was in line for 10 minutes and the cashier goes my light was off. I told her I've been here the same amount of time as the person in front of me. The cashier was very rude and talked back to me when I told her that she should serve me as well since I was there. I spoke with the manager and she was great. She checked me out and apologized for her . I always go to this one but I will definitely be finding a new dollar store to go too. I was really disappointed in my last trip to the Dollar Tree on Friday, March 18, 2016. I had my items and I was ready to check out, but there were no cashiers, no one in line, and none of the check stand lights were on. I stood at check stand 1 and waited. While I was waiting, eight people lined up behind me. Eventually, an employee walked over and without saying a word to any of us, opened check stand 3! We all had to scramble over from check stand 1 to check stand 3 without anyone cutting in line which, of course, people were trying to do. I got to the check stand and the cashier didn't say hello or anything. She seemed totally annoyed that she had to do her job. It was really disappointing. I am giving this location 3 stars because when I have been there before I had at least average service nad the store is moderately clean. My 6-year old prefers this location because there aren't "scary people" there like at the one on Bascom. He is usually right about that! read more

Do you ever wonder what happens to those mugs and glasses at a carnival game after they've been pummeled repeatedly by softballs, or dinged too many times from coins at the dime pitch? The stuff gets resold at Dollar Tree. This Dollar Tree in Santa Clara, for one. I needed a tall ceramic coffee mug. I saw a style that I liked. In order to find one without a major chip on the lip or bottom edge of the container, I had to go through 30 of them to successfully locate one in reasonable condition. I mentioned this merchandise issue to the cashier. She told me that most people buy the mugs anyway with the chips. If I was creating one of those mosaic pieces with broken china, this might have been a great resource, but, I think I can manage smashing the wares myself, especially if it's a day that I need to find a good outlet for taking out my aggressions. Granted, it's cheaper than Salvation Army (which now charges 3.99 for a mug- go figure) for such an item, but, next time I need something like this, I'll remember to pick one up at IKEA or Daiso. read more

A dollar store where everything is a dollar? What an amazing concept! Everything here is cheap so of course quality isn't always a priority but if you look around carefully there are quality items that are a real bargain. I really like going here for inexpensive party decorations and have used this location for a variety of events. I've found frames that I used for table numbers at my wedding, vases for centerpieces, and candles for romantic lighting. For a baby shower I found a ton of signs, plates, cups, and prizes for games. For a bridal shower I got a ton of prizes, favors, decorations, gift bags, cards, and other miscellaneous items. It's a good place to go when you have a rough idea of what you want but don't expect to find exactly what you are looking for. If you come with an open mind there are a lot of items that can be used as-is or fixed with a little DIY to make something very cool! read more

This Dollar Tree, by far, has to be the worst location I've ever stepped foot into in regards to their customer service, which is a complete shame because they have one of the better selections of items than other Dollar Tree stores in the area. I came here to by a handful of items that totaled just over $6 and what I got was a complete disregard for customers and the worst display of employee behavior I've ever seen. There were 2 registers open and I was 4th in line at one of the registers when the cashier suddenly disappears, no explanation. Nothing. Just walked off to who-knows-where and leaves us hanging. I'm thinking, "Okay, maybe she needed to quickly do an item price check?" Then 5 min goes by.. which turns into 10.. which turns into 20. Honestly, the store is big but not THAT big. Finally, the man at the front of my line asks another employee where our cashier went and she offhandedly shrugs and replies that she doesn't know and just walks off. Meanwhile, at the other checkout stand, the cashier feels sick and has to leave so that line is no longer moving either. Several customers are beginning to voice complaints by the 30 min mark as the whole store seems to have come to one big standstill. And several others have simply left their items behind and just walked out. The man at the front of my line dips out without so much as clearing his items from the conveyer belt. Both lines have at this point, grown to a ridiculous length, as it appears that everyone in the store -save for a few shoppers- have decided they want to checkout.. with no cashiers in sight. The whole sitch is a tension bubble waiting to burst. And it does. A man at the front of the other line speaks up and questions the one employee available why there are 2 registers open if no one is working. Valid question. It quickly escalates into a shouting match as this one employee continues to yell that she's not a cashier and she can't do anything about it, it eventually ends with her screaming, "I'm glad I'm not a cashier so I don't have to deal with this sh*t." The man, whose complaints are valid, points out her unprofessionalism and the overall nonsense of the whole situation. FINALLY, our cashier returns from some unknown secret location in the stratosphere and begins to check out our line, without any apology for our time that's been wasted. Not a single one of the maybe 4? employees I spotted looked the least bit like they liked their jobs, which is obviously reflected in the other Yelp reviews. Look, I get that sometimes sh*t happens, stores get short staffed, etc., but looking at previous reviews, this seems to be a recurring theme here. The best thing I got out of this experience was a free (10 cent) bag that I'm sure my cashier was just too disgruntled to remember to charge me for. I'm not asking for a lot when I walk into a Dollar Tree, I mean, you get what you pay for right? But is human decency seriously too much to ask for? Will absolutely not be returning to this cesspool of a store. This place is where employee happiness comes to die. I like saving a buck as much as the next person, but not at the expense of the joy being sucked out of my soul. For anyone thinking of coming here out of convenience, honestly, don't. I want to recognize Veronica for amazing Customer service w/a SMILE. I was looking for 9volt batteries and asked for help. An Associate said, I'm on break, you'll have to wait until I come back. I was frustrated because she could of asked another Associate to help me. Veronica found me brousing as I waited. She asked if I still needed the 9volt batteries and went into the back room and brought out 4 packages for me. She asked if there was anything else I was looking for and apologized for the wait. She seen me waiting in line and immediately opened another checkout. Not only did she engage with me in line, she made me laugh! She is the perfect example of phenomenal customer service! This goes to the old ladies closing last night. I went in to the store around 8:40 PM knowing that they were closing soon (9pm). Other people were continuing to enter as well. Once I walked one of the old ladies just stared me down while I got a cart for my daughter. I don't think she liked the idea that we were walking in close to closing time. After that I heard her tell her coworker(the other old lady) to stand by the door so people wouldn't come in. They said it in Spanish which of course I understood. They continuously made announcements that they would close in 5 minutes when they still had 15 minutes. At the checkout line they kept pressuring people to get close to the pay machine while other customers were still there. Anyway, the staff is super unfriendly and not welcoming. They only want people to leave. Even people that were trying to come in at 8:55 were denied. Get it together dollar tree read more
