Came by to buy some party supplies for my students and was told that I could not purchase them because they rang up to $0.01. I had 3 cute pink star cups, 2 party box packs, and a metal happy sign. All of which were in perfect condition. This was very upsetting :( When I got to the cash register to ring up my items, the cashier was ready to take my payment. However when checking the manager said that the items could not be sold. She said that the items that rang up to $0.01 "needed to be destroyed." Her words exactly. Like what do you mean. This was very upsetting, especially as a frequent dollar tree consumer and to know that items in perfect condition are being wasted. Not only was this rude, and unknown to me before purchasing, but so wasteful considering it's such a large company that last many stores doing the same thing probably :(( I was very very disappointed. Five star service from this Dollar Tree. Came here right after a disastrous outing at the Korean restaurant next door and I was more than amazed how much stuff this location had. This threw me back to my childhood growing up in the 2000s. They had so many nostalgic items, and actually had an egg toy machine. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful but what was very noticeable was how they're severely understaffed at this location. The lines were very long, and only two of them were open. I don't take that out on the employees, that's entirely the owners who pick out their payroll. If they can tackle that issue, everything would be near flawless. read more

I honestly don't know why I even bother coming to this dollar store. Every time I have gone the store is an absolute MESS. They never seem to have enough workers and there is always only one checkout clerk working with a line down the aisle. Their selection of stuff is pretty standard to what you would expect at a dollar store. I feel this store could have so much more potential with a little TLC. read more

This is probably one of the biggest dollar tree stores that I've ever visited. We were waiting for a restaurant that we were going to have lunch at to open, so we needed some activity to kill time. And this dollar tree store was just a perfect place for that. There were so many things to see, so many stuff to check out. And the store seemed impressively busy too when we were there on a Saturday around noon. Like other dollar tree stores, this store carried many items ranging from food to home decors. I was in the Santa Clara CA location on 7/08/25. I found most of what was on my list plus a few other items. lol The customer service I received from Christopher was "Exceptional". I was looking for a lighter that you use to light charcoal for a barbecue. As Christopher was telling me where I would find it as he walked over and showed me. Wow! You certainly don't find that type of C/S very often. I feel that Christopher went above and beyond. Now that's what I call "Exceptional Customer Service". I don't go to dollar store often, last time probably over 10 years ago because my colleague wanted me to go with her. Came in this morning after dropping my toddler off at school. I like how they open early; came in at 8:45am and already many shoppers at the store. The store was relatively organized, didn't see anything misplaced on the floor or anything. Cost per item was mostly $1.25/each. Which was great prices for party flavors, especially when you need a lot. I was looking for children's puzzles that my toddler's teachers recommended me to get, but I didn't see any. However, I did find some cute flash cards, so I got some for my toddler's birthday party as party flavors/gifts. Cashier was quick so there wasn't a long wait. Not the friendliest staffs though, because I saw 3 of them working and there wasn't any greeting, smile, or thank-you. Overall, good experience shopping here. I will come back if I need party celebrations stuffs since I saw many options. read more

This place has a decent food section though I do not visit this location to purchase groceries. Mostly when I have a hardware idea and I know the store stocks hardware items, I go here, or for greeting cards, party favors, holiday decorations, cleanings supplies -- look at your list and the prices are really discounted for the quality products sold here. I was in the store around noon 10/15/24 with a friend. Very busy. However, the shelves were well stocked & I was able to find all the items on my list. When I asked 3 different people for item locations, each one was pleasant & helpful. Although the one line for checkout was fairly long, Clara, the cashier was very efficient & friendly & the wait was minimal. Kudos to her & the other personnel. My wife and I happened to be in the area and stop by for a little shopping. Shopping center is small with limited parking. The store is messy with items on the floor. You have to pay 25¢ to rent their cart then you get it back when you return the cart. Don't get me started with the restroom. It's very dirty, very stinky, and flys everywhere gross. read more

One is of the worst customer priority service Dollar Tree stores around. If you don't arrive there when the store first opens within a half hour the one lone cashier is burdened with a long line of customers waiting to be checked out. The manager is no where to be found. If by chance she is around she fails in her duty to open a second register herself to help clear the line. I might add she is never in a hurry to do that if asked to open a register. It is unclear why the store would schedule only one clerk when more are needed. This is basically true most of the time. During holidays the line is indescribable. The manager doesn't seem to pick up the slack when the line gets long. Your best bet is to either get there at opening or shop at different Dollar Store. I enjoy a walk through the endless rows of this Dollar Tree location seeking out inexpensive items for all the various crafts or needs I have. I came by on a Sunday about an hour after they opened a bit nervous it would be full of people. I walked in with my mask on and my list of items I wanted to buy. I would have gone straight for them but got sidetracked with all the summer stuff (seeds for planting, sandals, decorations, and outdoor games). They toys section was pretty messy with toys all over the floor. The gift bag area had bags all over the floor. Nonetheless I kept going and found each of the items on my list and then some. Since there wasn't a lot of people inside the store I wandered around aimlessly down the aisles like I would have prior to COVID19. I found some cool things and they made their way into my basket. I came for a couple things and walked out with three bags full of goodies. The cashier handed me some bags to put my items in. She was behind the plexiglass and wearing a mask. The store could be more organized and have things off the floor but I really like how spacious it is inside. There's no boxes of items all over the floor. Things are well stocked. The one in Morgan Hill doesn't have this price hike (I was there a couple hrs prior), meaning not all stores changed their prices. I have been shopping this store since it first opened 15 plus years ago. Typically I buy snacks and treats here once in awhile tooth brushes/ tooth paste and small gifts and cards. Yesterday I went into the store and this employee ( I think she was a manager). Comes up to me and says that she was going to have to aske me to leave and I asked why? She said that several months ago that I had stolen " Hecka or Hella" stuff ( person's words, not mine). I was like what and when was this and what did I supposedly take? This was news to me, especially since I had just been in the store a few days earlier. I asked why is this the first time I am hearing about this? I mean like I said I go to this store weekly. This was the strangest experience I have ever had This made me so mad, because I regular this store weekly. As I told a friend at first I thought I was on that old show Candid Camera. Two, I have never stolen a thing in my life let alone from Dollar Tree. I am sorry who steals from Dollar Tree , not this girl. anyhow I asked can I see this said footage which by law they do not have to let you see. I am waiting to hear back from the corporate office, because I am not about to allow some person to ruin my life by lying about me stealing from a Dollar Tree. I honestly did not know whether to be mad or to cry. I am not sure what this world is coming to. Anyhow this has crushed me since this is the closest Dollar Tree to me and convenient when I am out and about. Anyhow , I am trying to start a boycott for falsely accusing me of stealing of this store and also it is so messy, unorganized and never enough cashiers, there is usually only one line and 50 people standing in it. This Dollar Tree is huge! There is plenty of space to roam in the aisles. I was surprised to find that they sold windshield wiper fluid for $1! That's right! I also found a pack of clear rubber bands which is exactly what I needed. The checkout experience sucked though. I frequently come to this location as it is the closet one to my home. I have several negative experiences here but after today I am just done coming here. I'd rather drive the extra couple miles than have do deal with rude employees. The manager Will was extremely nice when I spoke with him but it's awful cashier like Xyra that make coming here a bad experience. I understand that everyone is currently stressed out due to the covid19 regulations but that does not mean you get to be rude and angsty while at work. read more

This place is a joke. They don't accept any returns only exchange for more junk. But that's not even the worst of it. So I go in there to make a return and there's a guy in line in front of me. I hear him talking with his daughter and it's clear he's deaf or at the very least mostly deaf. He had a voice that clearly didn't hear any tones. So anyway he puts his basket up on the belt and the cashier told him to "take everything out or I wont ring you up." I heard him try to ask her a question to which she replied with even more attitude that the first time. Maybe he read lips, I don't know but he finally starts taking his stuff out and she looks at him and actually said "can you hurry up? I'm Rey busy" Deaf or not, that's absolutely no way to treat a customer or anyone for that matter. She was obviously was having a bad day. Now it's my turn and when I tried to make the return, again attitude. "We don't accept returns. If you want to you can talk to the manager tomorrow morning when he's here!" I don't think I'll ever come back here on the weekends. Everything at this location is just at its worst during the weekends. The condition of the store was dirty and messy. The service was terrible. I was waiting to pay and the cashier shoved a key in my face and said "Give this to her." He wanted me to give a key to a customer complaining about not getting her quarter back from her cart. I was dumbfounded because the customer complaining was right next to me. Haha he could have given her the key. The woman next in line and I looked at eachother like wtf??? Haha no please or thank yous here. Meanwhile, an employee behind him was yelling "if you don't see it, we don't got it!" as customers were asking for help on finding certain items. I'm just going to give the employees the benefit of the doubt that today just sucked, and that rude and annoying customers ruined their shift. Visited on a Tuesday afternoon... there is one cashier with a small customer line, which gradually grew to ~15 people within minutes. Perhaps the store is so short-staffed that they could not open another checkout line. During my checkout, I pointed to an item that was not mine and cashier Mary said, "I know," which I thought meant she would *not* charge me for it. Wrong. Upon closer inspection of my receipt (after leaving the store), I discovered she also double-charged me for another item. The receipt states, "We Do Not Offer Refunds." Tried calling the store and no surprise--no answer. Not worth the Herculean effort to go back into that sorry state of a store and try to find an employee interested in customer service. Came in here for a quick notebook restock, ended up leaving with my notebooks, valentine's day decor and faith restored in this particular dollar tree. This review is for James, the store manager. James was so helpful, he walked me to each aisle to find exactly what I was looking for! He also made sure I had a speedy check out since I had to get back to work soon. As I was leaving the parking lot I saw him giving a jump to another customers car! Talk about some reliable service! Dollar Tree you did right by bringing him in! This is one of the largest Dollartres I've walked into. I went in on Thurs., 1/3, after having dinner at a nearby restaurant. The place was stocked pretty well, although a little disorganized on certain aisles. I found everythingk I came in for plus a little extra-extra. With the one dollar pricing, one can't help but add to ones basket. Major negative was one of the female cashier by the front entrance. I walked into her line and she was curt and loudly said "I'm closed". I was like "ok" and found the other line. So I lined up and put my stuff on the belt. The rude cashier shouts to my cashier and says "I'm going on a break". My cashier said to her, " you can't go yet as we have a line." The rude cashier was arguing with my cashier (which I later foubd out that my cashier was the manager). A few ppl in line said they were told by the rude cashier to go to the another line. I also said that she did the same to me too. Personally, both ladies should have taken it off line. The rude cashier should have not told customers that her line was closed. The rude cashier should have not argued with her manager. The rude cashier was disrespecting her. The manager was a bit miffed but kept her line moving along like a trooper. Hope mid or upper management addressee this rude female cashier unprofessional attitude or hire people who appreciate that they have a job. read more

This review is purely for Cherif. Everyone leaving reviews about poor customer service here has never been in Cherif's line. Last night, I was 3rd in Cherif's line as he was helping what I thought was just a slow-moving woman. As I waited longer, I realized she was sick. Cherif was watching her closely, and soon it looked like the woman was seriously going to faint. Cherif firmly instructed her to sit on the nearby bench, and immediately grabbed her a water bottle from the fridge. He told her to sit there as long as she needed, no rush, and proceeded to carefully bring her all her bags and change. Then, he started helping the woman in front of me in line. After chatting a bit, he realized she spoke French. He then switched from English to perfectly fluent, effortless French-- which not only surprised me, but the woman as well. Her face lit up as the two of them talked in French about where her family was from, where she lived now, etc. Not all heroes wear capes. Cherif is magical, exceptional, and I am still in complete and total awe of how amazing this man is. Wishing him many blessings and good karma for his fantastic customer service. (Hello, wifey) After spending so much money on and for my new home, it sucks to spend more on all the little things. Fortunately, my new local Dollar Tree has me covered, with most of the little things I need at a price that can't be beat. Like 9V batteries for backup power in my sprinkler control system - 2 for $1, the cheapest price I've seen anywhere. Or paint rollers and brushes to help me give that ugly fireplace a facelift. Sponges and cleaning supplies. Seeds for planting in the garden. And high fiber cereal, because I'm getting old and have to worry about my cholesterol. And you can get plastic bags at checkout here, as Santa Clara is one of the few cities in Silicon Valley that hasn't banned them. Aw heck yeah! read more

This is one of those places where you can get by with speaking El espanol and no English!, as everything is uno dollar! Each Dollar Tree is a little bit different. I've been to Dollar Tree in Los Banos and stocked up on one liter Mexican apple Juice -what? Apple juice from Mexico? Of course they didn't say the juice was from Mexico, except in small letters. And if it had been from Washington state, the letters would have been all over the container, jumbo size! I've gotten one liter Mexican mango nectar and guava nectar from Dollar Tree in Sunnyvale. Today they don't have them -sold out on the weekend. I grab one of the scarce shopping carts. These carts have one of those locks on the rear wheels so that you don't take them from the store. Tells you something about the clientele here and the homeless people stealing the carts. There goes the neighborhood! I get eight 4oz tubes of EAD sun screen. EAD? Never heard of it before. Turns out it was produced in the United Arab Emerates, shown in small letters. This will last me 2 years. of playing tennis, with spf 15-35. Really hard to find sun screen at most Dollar Tree stores. Next, I get six 150 yard waxed Assure dental floss. This will last me 3 years if I don't yank on the string too hard around my teeth. I get six 6 oz Naturally Select tropical trail mix of dried bananas, coconuts, pineapple, papaya, raisins and dates. Nowhere else can I get that kind of trail mix for uno dollar. This stuff will last me about 3 weeks. I also get 4 bags of 5 oz Homestyle Select kettle chips, and 4 bags of 6 oz regular potato chips -where else can you get 6 oz of potato chips for uno dollar!? 1oz of potato chips will cost you $1.50 at Subway down the street. 5 oz cheddar cheese popcorn is also on sale for uno dollar, although I'm not that hot about cheddar cheese. Don't need toilet paper as otherwise I would get the 2 ply 4 roll packages, but the wife says they are too rough for her. Come on princess, how can you be so picky about toilet paper!? And I don't get the 32 oz Ruby Kist grapefruit drinks -way too much corn syrup with that nasty aftertaste -I like the Ocean Spray grapefruit drinks with pure cane sugar! Most of the people in line speak Spanish, as does the clerk. This is the one place where many people pay with cash, and not with credit cards. And I would not be surprised if this is because they get paid in cash at their workplaces. As I go out the door to my car, an attractive young lady follows me. I left my wallet at the counter and didnt realize it until I was in my car. I went back in to get it and the cashier handed it to me. I went back to my car to see if anything was missing and sure enough a $10 bill was missing. I went back in to tell the manager and the cashier asked me what I wanted. I said politely that a $10 bill is missing from my wallet and he instantly got angry for no reason and told me to leave. That seems pretty fishy that he would get mad at me. I think the proper thing to do is call a manager. I went in there to talk to her anyway. But I was kicked out. I went home and called but the store manager TOLD me that no one took it. ok... so I said I would call her manager in the morning and she laughed at me and hung up. read more
