I love Savers for the book section, it is massive. They even have it broken down in sections just to give you an idea. I collect books so yeah I fell like I'm at Borders back in the day. Prices are pretty great, so start that library today haha This location is new, and it's very welcome to join the neighborhood of Salvation Army and Goodwill only about 5 minutes away. This Five Below is located in the same plaza as Home Depot, specifically right next door to…read moreCarter's. My husband and I ended up coming to this Five Below because we needed a second charger cable since I only had one in my car and his phone battery was at 20%. We walked in around 6:15 pm and were greeted by the 2 employees at the register. We walked towards the back of the store and found all of the many charger cables. He ended up purchasing 2 cables since he had complained that the cable I have in the car was too slow. My husband also ended up pick up a wireless battery bank (but the charge was slow so my husband ended up returning it to a Five Below location near our home in San Gabriel Valley and had no trouble returning it with a receipt). I also ended up picking up a few things too. Right when I first walked in, I saw these cute dog pens and this dog shaped tape dispenser. Being that both were pretty cheap I decided to get both (now did I need any of these items? No but I got them anyway, lol. Five Below reminds me of the Dollar Spot at Target and Daiso where there are just so many things that I didn't realize that I wanted until I saw them...). Later on when we picked the items we wanted to pay, we went back to the front of the store to pay for those items. To pay, it was all self check out registers. We were able to ring ourselves up but we did see a family that had some trouble and needed assistance from a employee. Although we did not have trouble going through the self check out, we did see a male employee at a register who was on his phone. My husband asked him if he was open and he said 'you have to use the self check out' and then went back to his phone ... I think that is pretty poor customer service, as you show to the customer that you do not want to lift a finger to help, especially when there was no line and the store was clearly not busy... (sorry but young people today....). But overall, we were able to find the items we needed (and more) and had a positive visit. If I lived in this area, I would most likely be a regular.

KATHLEEN THE MANAGER IS A RACIST!…read more Today (7/6), I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had at this Dollar Tree. I came in looking for a lunch pail my 3-year-old autistic son had been asking for. The store itself was a mess--empty shelves, boxes everywhere, and it looked completely ransacked. While looking around, I found the lunch pails sitting on the sales floor inside unopened boxes that were already placed on the shelves. I politely asked the cashier if someone could help me, but he didn't understand what I was asking. A woman who I later learned was the manager, Kathleen, walked by, so I asked if she could please help me open the box so I could purchase one. Without even acknowledging me at first, she finally responded with a rude "Okay?" When I explained what I needed, she simply said, "No." I asked why she couldn't help me, and she replied, "It's not ready to be out." I explained that it was already on the sales floor, just still inside the box. She repeatedly refused to help, speaking to me in an unnecessarily rude and dismissive tone the entire time. After I left, I told my husband what had happened. He went inside to ask if she would reconsider, and she again refused. I then went back in to ask for the District Manager's contact information, and she refused to provide it. I recorded this interaction. What bothered me most was when I asked why she wasn't willing to help us. She responded that "there are plenty of other Dollar Trees you can go to," and repeated that more than once. Given her tone and the way she spoke to us throughout the interaction, I left feeling singled out and unwelcome. Whether intentional or not, her comments came across as discriminatory, and that is not how any customer should be treated. This was never about a lunch pail. It was about basic customer service and treating people with respect. I've never encountered a Dollar Tree manager who was this rude, dismissive, and unwilling to help over such a simple request.

Not only did a walk into my interview feeling confident in my outfit, but the value is unmatched. Some honorable mentions are Eva, for running to check if she could find a shirt I liked in a differing size, while unsuccessful, she brought something back I ended up liking more and wearing today to my interview. Dress pants, nice interview shirt, and dress shoes for$60, what a steal, best value around. The cashier at the front was also amazing, she had a smile on her face, and brightened my evening telling me about the full double rainbow that was outside the store earlier. All the employees interacted with were working hard, and were extremely pleasant. While I was being rung up, a line of 2-3 were gathering. There were two more employees behind the register (one my have been training) I did notice they didn't seem in a hurry to clear the line, almost waiting for the cashier Elisa to do all the transactions. The employee behind the counter did eventually turn around and pull somebody from the line. Love the value, love the quality, and appreciated the friendly staff :))

With a long drive ahead early the next morning and a one-year-old traveling with us, this immediately became a stressful situation. In South Orange County, most tire service locations close early. After being turned away by Costco, I made my way to Walmart, one of the only places still open. Although I did not have an appointment, I explained the urgency of my situation and how important it was for my family to be on the road by 6:00 AM the next morning. That's when I met Ruben. Around 7:00 PM, Ruben took the time to help me, patching my tire and ensuring my vehicle was safe for the trip. He went above and beyond what I would expect from any employee. He showed genuine care, urgency, and professionalism not because he had to, but because he wanted to help. I even offered him a gratuity, which he kindly declined. He simply helped because I was a father trying to take his family on an important trip. Because of Ruben, my family was able to make that drive safely and enjoy a truly special weekend celebrating my daughter's first birthday. It meant everything to us. Ruben is an outstanding individual and a true example of what great customer service looks like. Experiences like this are rare, and they are exactly why we continue to shop at Walmart.
