Every tag shows when the item will be marked down next, so if something is a little too expensive for my bargain-hunting budget today, I can either look for older tags that have already been discounted or make a note to come back after the next markdown. It's such a smart system, and it makes shopping here a lot more fun. I also love that the store is staffed by volunteers and that the proceeds benefit local charities. It's nice knowing that my purchases are helping support good causes. For me, though, the biggest draw is the selection. They consistently have a great assortment of vintage glassware, including Early American Prescut (EAPC) and other beautiful older pieces. Since my goal when thrifting is to find things I couldn't otherwise afford, Next-to-New gives me a real chance to do exactly that. Their clothing section is another reason I keep coming back. They always seem to have quality pieces at fair prices, often from really good brands. I especially appreciate that everything is organized by size instead of just by type of clothing, so I'm only looking through items that might actually fit instead of wasting time digging through everything. If you enjoy the hunt and don't mind waiting for markdowns, this is one of the best places in Austin to shop for secondhand treasures.

I found so many amazing unique pieces, including very flattering extra long vintage 90s jeans on the baggier side (I'm a tall girl) for $15 - I was SHOOK. Her reason was that she didn't want us taking up space for "real" customers. No explanation beyond that, no alternative offered, even after I responded to her question about whether or not the Girl Scouts would be spending money at her store. (Yes, she actually asked me that. My response was that they were all instructed to bring $30 but it was up to them to choose to spend it at her store or not.) As someone who reached out in good faith, I found the interaction dismissive and unwelcoming. The customer experience was a stark contrast to the warm, community-focused image the business owner projects. If you're a school group, troop, or youth organization looking for a welcoming community partner and experience in Austin, I'd look elsewhere. Imagine being a female owner of a community-focused business and NOT partnering with Girl Scouts. Mind blown. It's definitely a step up from Dollar Tree. Free abundant parking in this strip mall as this city is car dependent. With comparison to the Daiso's in the Puget Sound region, this store is larger than the one in Southcenter Mall but smaller than the one in Federal Way. A good thing about shopping in TX is that sales tax is less here than WA.

Best and quickest furniture experience of my life…read more We walked in and were greeted by Robert who gave us the run down of all the available couches and their prices. He was not pushy or salesy at all and was just very nice and helpful. Delivery was only $100 and he said they could deliver it same day! We couldn't believe it. We found a leather reclining couch that we liked and was a great price ($300 less than a similar one we almost bought at another store). We browsed dining room tables while we were there and got one a glass table with 4 chairs for less than $400. What a deal. The delivery guys literally came within 2 hours to our apartment and unloaded, set everything up, and threw away the boxes and trash. Amazing service. One chair had a short leg and so the delivery man took it back and brought a new one 2 days later, even on a holiday weekend! Amazing. Would 100% recommend this furniture store and we will be a repeat customer.
