Over the years, when I needed a rags, I would grab one. When I would pull out one of my kids old T-shirts, I' d go Aww, I remember this one, put it back, and grab the briefs with the stretched out waste band, and trash that. Last summer a friend ask me to help him screen in his girlfriends rear patio. I begrudgingly said sure. Damn, it was hot last summer. I knew she was a librarian. But, it turns out that she has a Quilting business with her 3 other sisters. So, this led to that ,and that to this, and they made quilts for my 2 sons. They took these old worn out T-shirts and made them look amazing. They back them, so the shirts were sturdy. I gave them whole artistic license and the quilts turned out great. They even sewed in little pockets My kids got the makings of family heirlooms for Christmas this year. I wasn't sure if they would appreciate them, but they did. Everyone who as seen them commit how beautiful they are and how well they're made. Plus, the people I've told about it, thinks I'm sensitive. And, we know how the ladies love sensitive.

Christmas was coming soon and I thought what a wonderful gift to give her family - a quilt that had t-shirts about all of his activities. Wrapping in the quilt would be like getting a hug from him. I contacted Four Sisters Quilting and even though it was pushing them to be done by Christmas, they understood the importance and took the job.
