The service was amazing and insightful. The workers are fun, helpful and welcoming. There is so much to collect!

This pusheen kitty plush is my newest favorite plush acquired, it only cost $60!

Gosh - it's been a decade plus since I've stepped into the toy joy central location, and the Guadalupe location holds a very special place in my heart from my 20's and being at UT and spending countless amount of hours looking for the funnest trinkets and getting bubble tea at their cafe. Although the 2nd street location is just as fun and friendly with the staff, it makes me reminisce of my nostalgia days. Pusheen, blind boxes and now as a mom these days, actually having a child who I can bring into an actual toy store to spoil, and we all picked out a fun trinket to take home back to the burbs! Prices are reasonable and I always think to shop local so I can see more of these fun spaces stay in my lovely city so I can continue to impart fun and sillinesses to children and those childlike at heart coming here!

Toy Joy is a treasure. This store has a feel to it like no other. They sell coffee, and I think they even sell Ice Cream. You can get all sorts of things here from retro toys for adult collectors to quirky little things and actual toys for kids. I'm big fan of Masters of the Universe and they had quite a few cool He-Man toys. The anime statues and kits are cool. I was a bit surprised by how awesome their high end board game section was. If you like toys and anime and board games. This is the store for you. Its downtown so expect to pay a few dollars more than you would on Amazon but hey... its an experience and supporting this amazing local business is well worth it.

    Whole lotta stuff.

You know you are going to a fun store when it's called "Toy Joy" and that's exactly what I did a few nights ago when I visited this location. From the moment you walk in and see the giant red bunny rabbit statue outside and the row of funny looking hand chairs, you can pretty much guarantee you are going to enjoy yourself. This store is packed in pretty much every direction and is full of all different kinds of toys, plushies, collectibles, and random knick knacks. What I really liked was this stores selection of anime figures and statutes. I ended up actually coming across some that I have never seen before and that's pretty hard to do. This store is a true Austin gem and I couldn't recommend checking it out enough, plus, if you have a sweet tooth they even have a candy shop connected to it! How can you go wrong?

A quaint little toy shop filled with anime and comic book paraphernalia, plushes, puzzles, and comic books/manga. It's a bit cramped inside. Didn't buy anything but it's a nice place to browse.

Toy Joy is a popular toy shop in downtown Austin filled with all types of toys. They sell quirky gifts, puzzles, stuffed animals, nesting dolls, all sorts of gifts. I picked up a science-focused gift for my five-year-old. However, after reading about it, I expected a wider selection of toys.

A truly impressive collection of toys here which includes all sorts from miniatures to games to collectibles. Even if you're not buying, there is still going to be something here that interests you. It's practically a museum to gaming and play here. I spent a good half hour looking at everything and finally narrowing my way down to a magnetic letters set that now adorns my fridge. [Review 10172 overall, 1758 of 2018.]

Today a wonderful woman with lime hair ran ALL THE WAY OUTSIDE to find me on the other side of the building to give me my card I left in the card machine. Such a wonderful person. Thank you so much. I'd be left without gas, out of town and had to travel a long distance today. Bless you ! (if you read this we love you!)

Toy Joy is a quirky little spot in downtown. It's small but there is a ton of stuff packed in there. We had fun browsing all the crazy things. Most of the toys in there are for bigger kids and adults I felt like. There was a small section for baby toddler type stuff though. If you are looking for a unique gift, something that will definitely get a laugh this is the place to find it. If you happen to be in the area I'd recommend stopping in to see if you find something that brings you joy!

Funniest snarky content I've ever seen

Eclectic selection of toys that delighted a group that ranged from a 5-65 years old. It had the best snarky pencil bag I've ever seen, "cause of death: small talk." And a wall of framed animal heads that warmed my Berkeleyan heart.

A lot of my childhood memories don't even really include buying things here- my parents weren't exactly rolling in the dough in the 90's but this place was so magical I never left disappointed. But- here's my adult perspective review. I love coming here for the nostalgia, gifts for everyone in my life, the seasonal items, and for The dopamine hit. I love all of their fidget toys, tiny silly toys like baby doll race cars (as in a car in the shape of a baby), blind box toys and their trading set up, and baby section. This is where you go when your friend is having a baby and already has all of the gear she needs. This is where you get stickers, your Christmas ornaments, a jellycat moon that is larger than you, a family of squirrels, a custom dollhouse family...I could go on and on.

Well, I did not have a clue where to find a Dragon Ball Z Action Figure or even knew what it was, so I consulted the hubs and he suggested a toy store. My visit to Terra Toys on Anderson Lane started with my mission: find a Dragon Ball Z Action Figure. What I thought would be a quick shopping trip turned into an adventure through one of Austin's most unique and charming toy stores. Walking into Terra Toys transported me into the wonderful world of imagination. Talk about sensory overload...color explosion, oversized stuffed animals, toys at every turn. Every section of the store was filled with toys of interest...from classic toys and puzzles to collectibles, games, art supplies, and items I had never seen before. Wow, wow, wow! My search for the perfect Dragon Ball Z Action Figure became a treasure hunt. With so many collectibles lurking throughout the store, I found myself scanning shelves, peeking into display cases, and inspecting every area of the store in search of a Dragon Ball Z figurine. Unfortunately, my quest for the illusive Dragon Ball Z came to an end. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, happily walking me to different parts of the store looking for a Dragon Ball Z. There is something to be said for the thrill of the hunt and your discoveries along the way. My Dragon Ball Z quest continues...
