Service was nice. They greeted my son and I in as we walked inside the establishment. The selection of toys/amine/cards are WILD. It was a small establishment packed with a variety of options. They have something for everyone if you ask me. The value is definitely pricey. My son bought an Iron man action figure for $35. Ayyy it was his own money so what can I say. He loved the store. So it was crossed off the list of things to do in Texas. read more

Although this store is a teeny tiny retail shop that has clearly outgrown its space years ago and has more of an on-line presence versus a large inventory actually in the retail space, we were happy to stop in and chat a bit about the Japanese toys we seek with the owner when we swung by. Not sure it would render a visit to go out of your way to this Austin location unless you were actually in the area, but we personally were glad to stop by. It is located amongst residential houses and next to small boutiques and various small businesses in the area. So not much of a store and maybe just call versus stopping in if you are seeking something. Or better yet, save yourself the trip and just visit their online store. read more

one of the best place to go figure hunting, the place was legit had all my stuff but i wish they had the one:12 mask, but everything else is great , love toy dojo read more

TLDR: This shop is legit- placed an online order for two items that are no longer in production (to my knowledge). Received them sealed, brand new, closest to MSRP I've seen, and authentic. Details: Ever since picking up a storm trooper in Japan, I've been searching for the Tamashii Nations Meisho Star Wars Darth Vader (Death Star armor) and Boba Fett for a long time. Amazon always shows them available from resellers for $200+. My Google search led me to toy dojo.com. I was surprised to see Darth Vader for $90 and Boba Fett for $94. My two main concerns at this point were that they were used/open box, or they were counterfeit. I reached out to customer service, where I received a response within 20 minutes. Eddie assured me, "All our products are factory sealed and brand new. we do not sell any used or open product. All products are authentic and from official distributors." Checking out ToyDojo's Facebook page, I see that they post very often, with products being pulled fresh from shipping boxes in excellent condition. Pulled the trigger after this, and researched how to tell the difference between the authentic figures and counterfeit ones. I learned to look for tell tale signs of a fake with: fuzzy print on the back, sloppy printing of the Bandai and Tamashii logos on the front, and missing the Bluefin Distributions sticker on the back. On the figures themselves, the fakes will have a large plastic wrap around the whole figure, as opposed to individual separators like between their legs (see photos attached), and the joints and detachables would be loose. I received the items in new condition. Placing the order on after hours, on New Years Eve 2020, I was impressed with how quick customer service (Eddie I assume) was still able to reply to my further emails so quickly and politely. Boxes were prepped for shipment the next morning. Received the package via FedEx, within the week. Boxes were wrapped in light packing paper, and no dents or scratches were present. Boxes had all the stickers and authentic print. Figures were of high quality. Overall, incredibly excited and happy to receive these highly sought after figures. And at the best price I have seen available. If I lived close to the shop, it would be my main destination to browse and buy (in a world without COVID). If I ever need to buy another Gundam or Bandai figure, toydojo.com will be the first site I hit up. Thanks Eddie and team! read more

Great service and selection of toys. It is great that they offer shipping because I live out of state.

Toy Dojo is a must for Gunpla lovers. The selection is incredible, and the prices are great! The store is a bit cramped when multiple people are inside, but it gives the store a charming and 'hidden' feel. Overall, the best place to find Gunpla in Austin! read more

Took my close friend who was visiting from out of town because they had been trying to hunt down a rare Gundam model kit for their collection which to our surprise happened to be here. Previously, my friend tried to look for this specific model during their stay in Japan, but they were unsuccessful. Unfortunately, they do not carry older figures and models (e.g. Ghost in the Shell), but that's to be expected as it's older. The store owner was an absolute delight. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Given the location the store is on the smaller side, but a treasure trove of hard to find model kits. For prospective customers, they do limit how many people can be inside at the same time due to size & safety precautions. All in all, it was a good experience. The experience made my close friend very happy so that's a win in our book! read more

awesomeness! A place in austin where i can finally get all my imported transformers! Saves on time and shipping from Japan! The store has a awesome selection of transformers, gundam models, dragon Ball z figures, and star wars figures not available in normal retail. Prices are extremely reasonable too. Staff is awesome, friendly and very knowing of the products they sale. Location is a new and upcoming district that is quite beautiful in all directions. Kid friendly place as well. read more

Great small shop specializing in Transformers and other products. The products tend to be on the pricier side since they are more targeted towards collectors versus the mass market. A big bonus for me is they have prototypes or test shots of upcoming third party products on display for people to view. read more

The staff was helpful and answered all my questions. They also wore masks and gloves to help prevent the spread of COVID. I'll be frequenting toy dojo more often. read more

I live in California and have been looking for couple dragon ball s.h.figuarts for quite a while and finally found them online from this store. The same figures are way more expensive on Amazon or Google shopping compared to what the store offers. I was hesitating at the beginning to order online because they have package option of 'standard' and 'mint condition' which charges $3 more. Turned out the items arrived are all in perfect condition with 'standard' package which I am really happy about. Will definitely buy again from them. read more

Amazing place with products that are hard to find online, much less in other shops. Eddie's personal touch is a refreshing break from the world of big box retail full of uninvested employees. Hoping to see this shop thrive well into the future. read more

I've been a repeat online Toy Dojo customer and I have to say that Eddie's customer service is absolutely top notch! Most of my orders have been packed and shipped within 24 hours, and when one of my sealed figures arrived missing an accessory he followed up within minutes of my email and sent me the missing piece. His prices are also about the best you can get for most of his items so I will definitely continue to buy everything I can from him in the future! read more

ToyDojo is located in a beautiful part of Austin near the Thinkery (where I love to take my kids) with easy access to IH35. It's beautiful shop filled with all the import and local toys your heart could desire. I had a blast just looking at all the wonderful displays. The employees were helpful and had such great enthusiasm about being there that it was infectious. The prices were as good, if not better, than most online retailers that sell import collectables. Being able to see what I'm purchasing in person versus ordering online from stock photos was simply delightful. If you're keeping your eye on something online on one of those other sites, other than ToyDojo.com, i highly encourage you to drop by the ToyDojo brick and mortar store, and consider purchasing directly from them instead. You'll be supporting an Austin local owned business, plus you'll be getting the best customer service around and you walk out with your treasure instead of waiting for tracking and delivery. I can not say enough great things about my experience at the store today. Stop reading this and go now! read more
