The refill station at Parker & Scott is probably my new favorite place! They have all kinds of options. One thing I'd never even considered that I saw there...sunscreen! How awesome is that. I just went in this time to get some hand soap, but I will be coming back here for all of our items. I'm hopeful that more people see how great of an option this place is. They also have a lot of fun/unique snacks and beverages. I purchased the hand soap, but also got a thing of dill pickle pistachios...OMG, so good. The clerk was such a lovely human and quite helpful. I will absolutely be back and will be telling all my friends about this place. Great way to shop local! Take your vessels up there and they will tare out the weight on all of them. So cool! Oh, they also have Ridwell, so you can take your batteries, plastic film (grocery bags/zip lock type bags) light bulbs, etc. This place is clearly owned and operated by someone wanting to make a positive impact on their community and world. I was excited to find Parker and Scott during our transition to trying to make our home plastic-free with refillable soaps/detergents/etc and Earth-friendly cosmetics. I hope to never buy another plastic bottle again! The prices are not super marked up from the online prices of these items. They have a really nice set up for a local small business and have opened several similar stores in the area which is a great additional to the Austin community.

Maris is organized, professional. Maris knows people. She knows the business well she told us about the "do's and don'ts"! She guided us from start to finish keeping all of it on time. She took in consideration my thoughts, mother of the bride and worked so well and listening to the brides want and dislikes! The end result is a gorgeous wedding invitation, suite has far exceeded our expectations. Maris is now working on the other paper elements for our event. Maris needs a RAISE! Thank you Maris!

I bought a Bruno Visconti journal and fell in love, came back and bought some more. Returned and they were sold out, the employee was so helpful and let me know I could put in a request for their buyer to order more. She filled out a request sheet and took my information so that they can call me when it comes in. But this is so much more than a place to buy journals. They have a huge pen selection, including some fancy ones. Their seasonal/holiday decor is always so unique and fun. They have a huge kids section and I will be popping in whenever I need a gift. AND stickers. They have a wall of a ton of stickers! They have a party section, greeting cards, gifts for adults and children, and they also make custom paper products like invitations + more. The selection is great, the prices are affordable and nothing feels overpriced, but what really sticks out here is the great staff. (I believe this is a locally owned- women owned business! More of this please!)

The book selection is thoughtfully curated and the displays change often. Something is always a little different each time I come in, which is great! I love perusing the shelves to check out what's new. The shop also puts on tons of events, from storytime for kids to adult book events, including the latest Dungeon Crawler Carl midnight release party. If you end up at Birdhouse, definitely chat with the staff as they are full of great recommendations and are so friendly! Parking is a breeze with the big lot and I love that this shop is in the same strip as Asahi, the Japanese market where you can get onigiri for lunch! I think this shop is a great place to cultivate community and is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Go visit!!

My kids and I spent a considerable amount of time in the children's section. I particularly appreciate the book categories they have, from graphic books to books about inclusivity. There is a limited selection of parenting books, which was surprising to me. I half expected a wider range of parenting books considering the selection of children's books they had. And the parenting books were shelved right at the back of the store instead of being closer to the children's section, which I thought was an odd choice. I also particularly appreciate that they have banned books here, and book recommendations. When we went there today, it looks like there was an event going on and from their calendar in the store, it seems that they hosted events every now and then, which is great. Staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming. We plan to come back again. Parking was easy and when you have kids, that is an important factor to consider. And tip: When you are done here, walk to the Japanese grocery store in the same block and get yourself some delicious snack.

They have a wide rate of gift items that you can personalize with a monogram. Their selection ranges from stuffed animals to Linen to purses to name a few. One of the staff members also highlighted , that you can bring items from outside the store. I that was good to know. When you personalize an item, it makes it more special in my opinion. So going back to Monogram Lady before Christmas it's definitely on my list of things to do. Most of the items in Monogram Lady atr reasonably price.md. I chose this small business expecting attention to detail and care. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. I was told a single seam would need to be opened to do the embroidery. I declined their suggestion to use vinyl, as I didn't want to compromise the tie's quality. I asked that the seamstress call me before beginning. Instead, I got a text from an unknown number -- not ideal, but I went along with it. I agreed to remove one seam and requested the thread be saved for color-matching later. That was dismissed, and the tone quickly became curt and unhelpful. A week later, I picked up the tie to find it had been completely taken apart -- far beyond what was discussed -- and the monogram design looked nothing like what we agreed on. The sun graphic resembled a blotch or bug, not the clean symbol I requested. The seamstress never spoke with me directly, and the staff simply offered excuses. What I would've appreciated most was honesty. If they couldn't meet my request, I would've gladly taken my business elsewhere. Instead, I spent $180 on the tie, $35 on the monogram, and now another $30 to have it repaired -- all for a result I didn't ask for. I don't take writing negative reviews lightly, but I hope this encourages Monogram Lady to communicate more clearly and stand behind their work.

The store had been affected by panic shopping, so the milk was gone, as were eggs. However, they made a display of almond and oat milk. I'm not sure if it was going to encourage anyone to try them, but it was a nice effort to provide an option. I just popped in because I wanted some cold brew coffee and yogurt, and I was in the area. Surprisingly a lot of the name-brand yogurt was gone too (I don't understand why; it wasn't on sale and is it a panic buying item??), but I just wanted a couple generic ones. Also, most of the cold brew was gone. I didn't expect that either. But I managed to get one. The check out lines weren't horrible, just like a regular busy day. The person working the checkout was effective and the bagger worked quickly. I appreciated that. I was in and out under 10 minutes. If I lived in the area, I would definitely shop here.
