Halo Halo

Very well stocked, organized, quiet & clean environment. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well! The selection of authentic ingredients is very refreshing. I really appreciate their bun selection in the frozen section. I also grabbed some lunch & dessert from here today as well. The gentleman answered any questions I had and didn't mind that I didn't see the menu (lol) Chicken adobo was gassssss and so fresh, I came here for the Lechon Kawali and was not disappointed! So fresh and crispy and juicy. I also got some Halo Halo, had it a few years ago and it's just as amazing as I remember. Can't wait to come back :)

Friendly staff with clean and organize store on the south side of Austin. While the store has a great selection of Filipino food. I found the prices to be quite high! The price tags on these items are way too much compared to some of the asian stores in the area- we found the prices are much lower and half their prices. We always recommend to always SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS...and I hope the store consider adjusting prices. Frozen grated coconut $7.99 Frozen grated cassava $5.99 Frozen Pork Tocino $9.99 5lbs sweet rice $13.99 Jufran Tomato Ketchup $8.99 Small Spaghetti Sauce $6.99 Knorr Siniganf Mix $2.49 Small bottle Squid Sauce $4.99 Pack of Pancit canton $6.00

I really enjoy visiting the filipino Asian Mart, and getting recommendations from the owner Marlow. He was very attentive and very kind! I felt like I was going into my family's home. Thank you for the great recommendations and delicious warm food served up right there ! Come check him out !

Sending a box back to the Philippines!

I've been going to the Filipino Asian Mart for a few years now. I have only ordered food a few times (it's not the primary reason I go there). The adobo and lumpia brought me right back home. I mainly go there to buy lumpia wrapper. This store ALWAYS has the individually separated wrapper that I like to use. The individually separated wrapper is a huge time saver while rolling. I also get a few packages of pan de sal too. In addition to the food I have also used their service to send a box back to my parents in the Philippines. I bought the box from the owner of the store. I filled it with a TON of stuff and brought it back to the store. They sent it off to the Philippines and my parents received it 3 months later with no damage. The process was very easy and my Dad was so surprised on how big the box was! The owner is always very friendly and helpful. I will continue to do my Filipino shopping there!

The produce guy asked me to speak Spanish since it seemed that was what he spoke. The cashiers spoke English ianf Spanish.I was specifically looking for aji dulce peppers , and fresh ciulantro( not cilantro) . I had wanted to make an authentic Sofrita, .these peppers I'm not familiar with but trying to make an authentic Sofrita without substitutions of other available peppers. . When I went in, I grabbed one cart it was stuck in another cart, went on to another cart ... same thing. So finally wrestled a cart free and the wheels are all jacked up veering me off to the left... ugh! I asked the produce man , where I could find the aji dulce peppers and he starts pointing out every sweet pepper ( red, green, yellow) which in his defense are sweet peppers, but not the ones I was looking for). I specifically picked Fiesta because instacart had the peppers listed for Fiesta,. But they did not have them. I . Great fresh produce. Just like any other market, you need to compare prices from the regular grocery store that you use .'some prices were higher than you would find at the larger grocery chains. If there was a fiesta by me I would definitely shop produce. There was also Bakery with a small selection. I bought a pumpkin empanada. It wasn't it as sweet as the Panaderia that I go to, but maybe it was a more traditional taste without a lot of sugar.

I do recommend Fiesta becuase they have a selection of international items for your specials need…read more Also a good meat poultry are and , of course the Bakery is one of my favorite. Sweet delicious bread , cakes, bolillos etc. Also good prices. Love Fiesta

I first discovered them at their Burnet Road location and was so excited when they opened a new location on Lamar. The store is compact but packed wall-to-wall with authentic Japanese groceries, snacks, drinks, and home goods you just don't find in mainstream supermarkets. The staff is polite and efficient, and the checkout process is quick even when it's busy. Parking can be a little tight depending on the time of day. I especially love ordering their freshly made bento boxes for lunch. They go pretty fast but they allow you to reserve them over the phone on place an online order. My favorite is the Ebi fry which comes with 2 fried shrimp tempura and the Aji fry with fried fish. Then bento boxes come with rice, kinpira, tamago yaki and shibazuke. They also have a lot of Japanese items including my favorite sake Hana Awaka and other fun items. If it is a speciality Japanese item, I know I can most likely find it here.

One of my absolute favorites is their onigiri rice balls--I honestly crave them. I stopped by a little after lunchtime, and there was already a sign saying they were finished taking onigiri orders for the day. I was browsing around anyway when one of the ladies kindly asked what I was looking for. I casually mentioned a few onigiri styles, and to my surprise she smiled and said they still had some left and could make them for me. That small gesture completely made my day. The kindness and warmth of the Japanese ladies working there truly stands out. You can feel the care they put into both the food and the customers. I also picked up some Japanese noodles and sweets while I was there, which made for a very delicious and comforting lunch at home. Thank you for the wonderful service and atmosphere. Keep up the great work always. Cheers

Leading up to it we were pretty excited since we've seen a lot of online buzz about the place Man...we were super disappointed. I immediately knew we made the wrong choice when I ordered a "Banana Old Fashioned" and the only thing "banana" about it was a tiny banana chip that got tossed in a normal old fashioned (no joke, see pics) The prices on each of the items are also way too high for what it is. And the amount of food they give you is like ordering a side dish. You could get better bang for your buck at a food truck, and I'd argue that you can probably get better tasting food at a food truck too It's not even about the amount of food. If the quality was good, the price can be justified, but just because a waiter tells you how to dip your food in the sauces that it comes in, doesn't make it "fancy" You can tell this place loves their fish sauce, cause that's the only flavor you're going to get here Dessert was an absolute joke. Two scoops of blue bell ice cream with fruity pebbles sprinkled on top. Something that also bothered me at the end is that they pass on the credit card fees (3%) onto the customer. It'll say on the receipt. Even fast food restaurants don't do this. Waiters were very nice. Vibes were okay except for the "Valentine's Day" paper menu having a lot of food smeared on from previous diners. It was just another classic "let's charge NYC prices in Austin" type restaurant. Absolutely joke.

We ordered the hamachi, the pork belly, and the kare kare, and had the halo halo for dessert. I also got the karaoke girl cocktail. I would say the portion sizes are in the small side but for everything we ordered between the two of us, we did end up being full enough, not belly hurting. Every bite is well balanced with yummy flavors and textures. Leanne was our server and she was awesome. I love when servers describe the dish and recommend how to get the best bite.
