No reviews. Looks like it's been in business for a while. Very strange. Poco Loco Supermercado is not what I expected. Like I said in other reviews, I am very new to Austin. So when the wife and I where looking for a new home, I kept seeing this supermarket from the road. I had to go and shop at Poco Loco Supermercado. Big mistake. I am from NYC and love a good Spanish supermarket. Latin markets carry items that local markets do not. Produce, can items, cuts of meat are just a few things a Spanish market are different. While Poco Loco Supermercado carried these items, I have concerns. On this Saturday afternoon around 5 or 6 pm this place was empty. I felt like I was in a scene of zombieland. Most supermarkets are packed at this time. Only saw a couple of other shoppers. Very strange. I also got the feeling that this place was running another business. It had the characteristics. People walking in and then you don't see them. I guess I have been to too many dicey establishments, lol. Produce was weak. Spotty in color and freshness. Meat market was huge. Lots of product. The beef was bright red. The chicken was spotty and grey. Bakery seem not fresh. Pricing seem high across the board. Better statement would be, I did not see value. Poco Loco Supermercado had a food stall. When you walk in it is on the left side. I wanted to order something, but no menu or price list. I wanted to know what did you have to offer for x dollars. Very strange. The final straw, girl at lottery counter. Major attitude and rude. Wanted to purchase some Powerball and got the look, the head weave, the smirk, the silence, etc. She made my day by making me laugh on my way to dinner. The fruteria here is amazing! They have the best sliced mangos around, and nothing is more refreshing that fresh sliced watermelon with a slice of lime. There is a hot food area and a good variety of produce and groceries. The management is very accommodating of special requests! I love this spot! read more

Poco loco on Ben white sells meat that is past it's experation date. The bistek steak was orange and had fish like scales that shimmered in the light. It didn't smell very good and we had to throw out a couple of pounds after discovering the meat at Poco loco was not editable. read more

I really like Poco Loco. Their meat-butcher section is excellent. Good cuts of meat as reasonable as Aldi and sometimes the cuts are better. Otherwise prices vary throughout the store..some items are cheaper than the competition and sometimes the items are as high as HEB...you have to know all the prices elsewhere so you can compare... The tacos in their deli-take out are out of this world.... Friendly, of course I can say a few words in Spanish...but what NICE PEOPLE and products I have never seen before! read more

My mom is in the hospital down the road and I needed a notepad to write records for family members coming in and out about what was said or done, and I eventually ended up here, successfully purchasing my not pad. Staff is super super friendly and helpful. Everything looked good so i came back for lunch and had an al pastor taco. DAMN it hit the spot! I had another barbacoa taco and a coke zero and it was delicious. I'd recently had a Torchy's taco for the 20th time and decided that I hate loath despise Torchys, so this was a really welcome change. Also picked up a hair brush and some soap that I hadn't packed, all great quality and a low price. read more

I Do Not Recommend To Eat At The Restaurant inside the poco loco. The Food Was Horrible! The beef fajita was just nasty dry no flavor . Tortillas were not good they also didn't have any ice for the fountain drinks. Horrible experience read more

Everyone here is very friendly. I like their marinated meats and also the fact that they stock other useful things (why can't I buy dishrags at HEB???). Hope to try out the taqueria and aguas frescas sooner rather than later! read more

Shopped there twice within the same week and bought mostly the same items but was charged more than the amount on the price tags the second time. On my first visit, everything I bought was charged the same amount as the price tag on the shelf/stand. But on my second visit, many items I bought was charged $0.10 higher per unit than the amount written on the price tags. For example, avocado had a tag price $0.59 each but I was charged $0.69 each, cilantro had a tag price $0.39/bunch but I was charged $0.49/bunch, tomato had a tag price $0.79/lb but I was charged $0.89/lb, and Mexican squash had a tag price $0.99/lb but I was charged $1.09/lb. Please be aware of this kind of 'bail and switch' practice. read more

I went to the restaurant when my spouse was at the hospital at St. Davis, unfortunately, the food (carnitas tacos) made me sick. Even thought the staff was friendly, i believe they have a hygiene issue- please avoid eating at this restaurant. Instead, I recommend to go to the Chinese Restaurant (Bamboo Garden) there the food is delicious and try their Chinese beer (awesome beer resembles Heineken). read more

This place is an above average Hispanic grocery. They have a small selection of produce/pantry/freezer items. The produce is a small selection and also does not seem like the freshest, however in a pinch it will do. The pantry and freezer items are good. The place is a little higher priced than H-E-B or Walmart but not too bad. Inside they also have a small cafeteria that sells food like tacos and menudo. The meat market has a huge selection but judging by how slow it is may tell you how fresh it is...The bakery area is in the very back left hand side that has lots of cookies and breads. They also have a little stand that sell snacks like mangonadas and corn in a cup. The checkout ladies are very nice and predominantly talk Spanish but if you don't know Spanish you can get through a transaction. There is also what looks like a boost mobile in the market. They have an ATM, and accept Apple Pay and Samsung pay. Very nice experience overall. read more
