First let me say Jane and Laura AMAZING ladies. They were so personable. I am SO glad this is where I picked for us to go. You learn so much about candles, wax, oils etc. Jane was so thorough in explaining each oil their uses properties how the oil is processed from the different flower, fruit etc etc. you literally have no doubts. I was truly mind blown. I would like to say more advertisement would really help. I found this place on accident (literally on accident). This gem should definitely be advertised. Get more people in so they can partake in the goods and services. If they don't know you are there they can't come to you. You don't know till you know, and now that I know I have a better understanding and appreciation for the art of candle making (when the correct products are used). When you are making your candle they definitely don't skimp on the oils leaving you with a very fragrant product to be proud of. You even can decorate your own label to make it more your own. Upon arrival I was offered a sparkling water (the pineapple is good). For taking a class you do get a discount if you shop in store same day that's pretty nice. I got the bull Eucalyptus and lavender laundry powder 8oz worth and the Palo Santo stick. We will be back!

This place is so nice! I love coming in this store. It's great to shop here but they also offer some amazing workshops. We did the candle making workshop and everyone loved it. They use quality essential oils and they educate you on the oils and how to get the most out of your candle. It's a fun experience.

I should have taken a picture of the two women helping me today. I feel bad because I forgot their names but I love a good plaza local shop, especially when there is plenty of parking. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a lovely woman who asked if I've ever been in and gave me the lay of the land. I came in because I signed up for my aura photo via Aura Nomad and Slow North was the place they were popping up at. I knew the shop had hand poured candles but they had so much more. It turns out was also in the market for a going away gift for my boss... she got a new job and so I bought a neck wrap, linen spray in eucalyptus and lavender, and a candle in grapefruit and spearmint. So she can have some tools to help distress at the new gig. I made a new friend, Tara while I waited my turn for my aura picture and the ladies at Slow North we're so hospitable while I waited. Turns out they have candle making classes too. I loved that their home fragrance was rooted in herbal scent combos that were natural and beautiful. My fave for the fall season was citrus and clove. I'll definitely be back.

Slow North has continued to be a great place to shop during COVID. They have an easy to shop online ordering system and curbside pickup. They were one of the first local businesses to offer pleated face masks. I was able to order some to be mailed out of town to my mom. They also continue to offer crafting classes online. I discovered a macrame class with The Aquariust through Slow North, and I've now taken 4 or 5 online classes. I've also purchased pottery from local artist Kristen Saksa Juen whose work I found at Slow North. So not only do they have great offerings as a store, they introduce local artists and help give customers access to creating their own art. I have found this so refreshing and calming during the pandemic.

This was my first time visiting Slow North and my first time making a candle! Super informative learning about soy wax and essential oils. Can't wait to light my candle!

Slow North was a pleasant surprise I found when headed to Alamo Drafthouse Within minutes of walking in there is a tranquil vibe. Everything I purchased was well made and lovely. Many items were hand crafted by local artisans, all made from natural ingredients. The cards and journals were unique and fun. The smudging sticks smelled heavenly and lasted much longer than other versions I have purchased. The service was helpful and knowledgeable. If only I lived closer, I would love to attend their classes. I will be back on my next trip to Houston. Until then, they have a...Read more

Super cute little shop with local artisans. The most unique things I saw were fabric bowl covers for food and cocktail infusers. Also saw some cute car ornaments that serve as essential oil diffusers/car fresheners. Cute jewelry handmade jewelry. You can try them on and they sanitize anything you don't purchase for the next person. Prices seem very reasonable. Walked out with a cute bag of stuffs.

The small amount of people allowed inside felt safe. Their selection of home goods is amazing. I bought many gifts! Will go back for sure.

I don't know the lady behind the bar, rumors were that she was one of the owners and honestly I don't care to confirm. She was rude to one of my friends and we brushed that off as maybe she had a bad day.. We went again with a different group and 1) I had to chase her down for the check and 2) I was ignored while standing there trying to talk/engage while waiting to get said check. I even asked if it would be easier for me to walk over to the cashier (I didn't see it upon initially walking up) and I was received with a blank stare. Idk, I love spending $$ at wine bars - some have incredible wine knowledge or have an aesthetic vibe or even have a good wine club worth opting into. You'd think a walk in plant shop would be iconic enough but ehh it's just fluff and somewhere you wait while waiting on a resy close by. This is giving pretentious and for what!?
