Apple is back at Dolce, and I'm so happy! As an introverted creative, I've always been a little shy of hair salons, but Apple is warm and makes me feel right at home. She's so gentle and careful with my hair, never tugging or moving quickly and recklessly. If you're someone who gets ASMR, this is tingle city for an hour+. I was so relaxed I nearly could fall asleep. All the products Apple uses smell good and she shares tips on styling your hair, food, creative markets, and more. Plus I leave looking great. I don't want to get my hair cut anywhere else or with anyone else in Austin. Thank you Apple and Dolce for a great experience every time! read more

Veronica is my go to colorist oh my goodness! I showed her a picture of the blonde I wanted to go and she did exactly that!!! I love this place so much and everyone is so friendly. read more

Kymberly is an artist and is so sweet! She was very attentive and helpful trying to nail down what I wanted, and put in the extra effort to make sure everything was perfect. For example she mixed two different bleach mixtures to make sure my regrowth and my previously faded-red-box-dyed hair would lighten the same amount. I left with a beautiful blend of highlights with a lot of dimension. If you're looking to go blonde or add highlights I would definitely recommend! read more

Unprofessional!! I don't recommend getting an appointment at this salon. I had two appointments, and both were cancelled a day before I was supposed to go. I was also supposed to get a consultation appointment, and they never called, emailed, or texted me to schedule anything. They made me reschedule two days before the appointment, then asked to reschedule for the second time, and after I said I couldn't reschedule, they cancelled both of my appointments. They told me the stylist was going to be out and I was going to have to reschedule again. They didn't even have the curtesy to call. They don't respect the date and time you make the appointment, even though you make a deposit for that specific reason. read more

I moved to Austin from the Northeast and saw that Pedro had great reviews. I was able to get an appointment with him relatively fast, especially being a new client, which I appreciated. Pedro knows how to do hair, especially blonde. He did an incredible job making me a blonde (first time!) and provided excellent product recommendations to maintain my blonde hair. I highly recommend him!! The salon itself is clean and everyone is so nice. 10/10 experience. read more

I cannot say enough about Cris, Shelbi and the whole staff and service at Dolce! Shelbi did a bayalage and cut on me and it was exactly what I'd been wanting! It's been two years since getting my hair colored and I'll absolutely be going back for the next. read more

The vibe is great but my stylist was not good. Extremely slow and did not listen to my needs which was really just a basic hair cut. I walked out looking like I didn't even get a haircut. I had to go to another place just to get the style I was looking for. I don't recommend this place/ read more

I have received color and cuts regularly for five years now, and I decided to post a review as my way of saying "Thank you, Cris!" I get so many compliments on my hair color, which is such a boost in my 60's. I think she is a wiz with the scissors, too, as my contrary waves fall naturally in place when she's done. She is unfailingly cheerful and kind in addition to being gifted with styling talent. read more

Pedro is very talented! My hair was such a mess. December 2019 was my last hair appt and it was in such bad shape both cut and color wise. Cris and Cynthia were a great help with input on color blending and foils due to my hair being very long and thick. I can't thank Dolce Salon for their talent, artistic ability and professionalism. Awesome Things about Dolce Salon (in no particular order): - Dedicated Parking: easy and ample shopping center parking. Deal breaker for me...I don't care how acclaimed a salon professes to be, if parking takes unnecessarily long or is cumbersome (a la downtown) then no dice. - Location/Lack-of-ATX-Traffic-Tomfoolery: Despite my hair appointment ending during rush hour, it took me no time getting to my next appointment in S. Austin. - The Owner: One of the owners, Cris, styled my hair. I have straight virgin hair and gave up on dreams of ever sporting curls. She took time to educate me on how to create curls that lasts for days in under 2mins....and they actually did ((gobsmacked, thank you again Cris!)). - Manicurist, Tia: I pretty much want to be her friend because she's hysterical...and I didn't even get my nails done lol. Better to have a talented AND funny manicurist than a talented humanoid right? - Color Specialist, named Apple: I'm too chickenbleep to color my hair, but I had to stop and ask Apple about her own amazing hair color and health of her hair. I've seen a lot of colored hair at the expense of it's health. Also, apparently she can do a glow-haircolor (wuh-whatt??) - Heat Relief: I have thick, black Asian hair. Sure it's "nice to look at," but living in TX also means it's a challenge keeping cool for 9.78 months of the year. I've regularly had my hair thinned out by others and have always been happy in general, but when Cris did it, the end result was more...for lack of a better word, "styled." It continues to grow out more gracefully than previous thinnings from other place. - Ancillary Benefit: US Post Office, BoA ATM and Jack Brown Cleaners conveniently nearby...Yes, in a cliche fashion, I did indeed find myself in need of all three that day. Recommendation: candy bowl ... unless I missed it :( read more

Veronica is such a sweetheart and a good educator who helped me tremendously with my curly hair confusion.

I'm a little late in commenting (I got my hair done about 3 weeks ago) but it was a great experience and I'll definitely be back! The staff were super nice and accommodating (especially when I got stuck in traffic and arrived a little late) + they did a great job on my human hair topper, the color and the cut itself. I'm really happy and will definitely be back soon for a touch up - 10/10 recommend read more

Went to dolce because I heard great things about the salon and products they use (all cruelly free/vegan). Had 7-8 inches of my hair cut off and was very pleased with it. Highly recommend Apple, she did an amazing cut. I'll be booking with her again! read more

I came to Dolce Salon and saw Pedro and had an amazing experience! I have long and very thick hair. I am naturally blonde, but as time goes on my natural hair color has become more of a dirty blonde. I have highlighted it a number times before, but the tones never quite looked natural. From the moment I sat in his chair, Pedro new exactly what highlights and tones would compliment me best. From the way the highlights were placed to the slight root smudge, Pedro very skilled and kind along the way. I had a great experience and look forward to my next appointment! read more

I do not have enough great things to say about dolce salon, Pedro and all employees of this establishment! They are inviting, welcoming and know how to treat each individual that walks through their doors with phenomenal customer service and salon treatments. Thank you dolce salon- I will be and have been back since my first appointment and look forward to my next each time I leave :) read more

I've been getting my hair done for more than 8 years now and this was by far was the best experience I've had. Pedro is the BEST!! I recently moved to Austin & wanted to find a new stylist to help keep up with my blonde highlights. I moved to Austin 5 years ago and have been looking for my "home" salon ever since- so glad I made my appointment with Virginia at Dolce. I drove out from the Lake Travis area for a consultation, and I could tell that she was very thoughtful, patient and professional. She had the perfect balance of listening to what I want, while also shared her professional opinion. When it came time for my cut and color appointment, she was meticulous. I have very fine, straight blonde hair...but I have a lot of it....and I was requesting a blunt bob. She never made me feel like it was an inconvenience to give me the cut (which I have definitely experienced in other salons) and she gave me that mirror to checkout the side and back angles no less than 5 times to make sure I was confident and happy with the cut. The color she suggested for the partial highlights and shadow roots was exactly what I didn't know I needed. I 100% recommend booking with Virginia. read more

Had a terrible experience honestly. Hair turned out fine but never told me about any up charges they were gonna add to my bill and it was double what I thought it was gonna be so be aware of that. All I wanted was highlights and they added a whole bunch of other things I did not want. I asked a receipt before I left he said he couldn't give me one and to call back and when I called to get it it had all of these charges that I didn't agree to. Plus I tipped forty dollars and the bill said I tipped 75 they ended up giving my tip back even though I didn't tip them that in the first place but gave me no other sort of refund read more

I am still in shock at how much my expectations were exceeded today with Chris. She outdid herself on my hair and really took the time to get my hair exactly where I wanted it to be. All I did was show her one picture of what I'd like, and she absolutely nailed it. She cut my split ends and I can't even tell a length difference. She took me from a level 4 to a level 11 in just a couple of hours. She makes it look easy but coming from someone who's struggled time after time in every effort I've made at going to get my hair done, I know it's not this easy to ace a hair dye & cut. She deserves all of the praise for her talent because she worked a miracle on my hair. read more

I love this salon! Cynthia has been my regular go-to stylist for a couple of years. Whether it's a cut or color, I'm never disappointed. She's personable, up on all the latest hair trends, and has great credentials. The staff is friendly and professional. The salon has a cool vibe, a nice layout and there's a small selection of apparel too. I highly recommend Cynthia and I'm sad I need a new stylist after relocating! read more

I have lived in Austin for almost 5 years; I have been highlighting my hair for the past 30. I had found a great stylist, but he moved. I have bounced between a few stylists in the ATX area and always left the salon feeling "meh". Unfortunately, with my last stylist, I made the mishap of mentioning that "I want to go a bit brighter" with my highlights and she bleached my hair into oblivion and caused a great deal of damage (hair falling out in clumps). I had never had such a bad experience in all the years of coloring my hair. I took to the internet to start researching salons (word of mouth had not worked well for me since moving to ATX, not sure why). I came upon Dolce's website and read the reviews and read about Cris, the owner. I made an appointment to have a consultation with Cris about how to proceed with my very damaged (and unsightly) hair at this point. Cris is very knowledgeable, patient and caring. I told her the hair care routine I had been using. She educated me on why that was NOT working for my current hair status. She suggested a hair care regime to help the health of my hair and get it "back on track"/healthy and to give my hair some time before coloring it again. Neither which I wanted to do, but she was SPOT ON with the repair hair care regime. So much, that my husband said "I don't care what you're spending on hair care products - it IS working (and it smells nice!)! After waiting the suggested amount of time for my hair to repair some, I went back to see Cris for my highly anticipated color correction. I did have trepidation about being with a new stylist and correcting my hair-debacle. When discussing color goals, Cris gently pushed back on me about what I thought I wanted. By this time, I could tell I was in FANTASTIC hands and to let her work her magic because this is obviously her profession and her passion. Cris not only helped improve the health of my hair, but she corrected the color and KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF! I have not felt that pretty walking out of a salon in my entire life. My husband and my three teenagers (hard to impress) were AMAZED. I will not let any other hairdresser touch my hair again (unless Cris recommends them!). Not only is she an amazing hairdresser, but she is also so easy to talk to and just a good human being! read more

I look forward to every appointment with Apple knowing that I am going to have a good time and I get to walk out with gorgeous hair. Her positivity is infectious and her skills are unmatched. She even gave my daughter a beautiful first cut, which she can't stop talking about. Dolce Salon is also a treat.
