Cute little hole in the wall with SO MANY yummy options! Choosing was difficult, but the employees were very helpful in describing flavors and making suggestions! They have a small patio with a few bistro sets of table and chairs. There are also dedicated parking spots in the back to make parking in this more busy neighborhood super easy! I loved both the Stracciatella and blueberry cream cheese gelato, but there are also so many more I want to try like the candied orange chocolate! I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a sweet treat nearby! read more

So I'm visiting from Louisiana and staying with some friends who live down the street from this amazing gelato spot. And I decide to get some dessert for everybody after dinner and I walked down here to grab a pint . The flavors and the quality are ridiculously good here. Yes it is expensive. If we lived in Austin, we would drive across town just to have their gelato! Simple, sweet and delicious. We've been several times over the years and it NEVER disappoints. Creative gelato flavors, and really good quality ones. If you've had great gelato in Italy and wonder why you can't find it in Austin, now you can. My favorites are the dark chocolate, pistachio and hazelnut, but the matcha is also really delicious. Dolce Neve has some signature flavors they keep around while also experimenting with new, seasonal picks. Charming location, nice, helpful staff. Gelato I always want to go back for. Wish it were not so far away from where I live. I wish they had better packaging for take away orders. Tried transporting some of their ice cream bars, which was not a simple feat. Outdoor seating is limited, but makes a nice place for a family night out or ice cream date. read more

Such good gelato. Normally after ice cream or gelato, I've had enough but I genuinely wanted more. I had a small cup ($5.5) with 2 flavors, ricottia honey pistachio (it had bits of pistachio) and rose aprium sorbet (had little pits of aprium skin). The texture and flavor is incredible. They have lots of cool and interesting flavors. Also it's locally made in house. read more

As an ice cream lover, I like to try all the new flavors I can. Never seen a goat cheese ice cream or mascarpone matcha. So definitely had to try. Goat cheese was really yum, hazelnut was good too, ricotta cheese was yum, matcha was okey. Pineapple was good. Definitely recommend this place. Cute little store to get gelato from! The flavors were interesting and some were the classics. Malted milk with chocolate chips: tasted like whoppers without the crunch! A little hint of salt in the gelato and I liked it because it wasn't too sweet. Goat cheese and pecan: plenty of pecans so beware if you don't like the flavor. This gelato place is really good. The employees are so friendly and knowledgeable about the variety of flavors and which pair well together. The ice cream at Dolce Neve is absolutely delicious with inventive and creative flavors. I ordered the Ricotta, Honey, and Pistachio and wondered how I had never had this perfectly delicious combination before. I am only taking a star off due to the very high prices. I am used to a high fee - but over $7 seemed a bit much for one scoop. However, I can't deny that it is a decadent treat! read more

Dolce Neve seriously has the best gelato I've ever had. Their texture is light and creamy, and their flavors are seriously just perfect. They rotate their flavors and every single one is wonderful!! My personal recommendation for an absolute must-try is their pistachio. Trust me, you've definitely never had pistachio like this. I'm also a big fan of their creme fraiche, chocolate 70%, and fig mascarpone! I will always come to dolce neve for ice cream no matter where I am in the city. My only regret from coming here is I didn't take longer to savor my gelato; I scarfed it down because it was so yummy! Dolce Neve offers a good variety of gelato and sorbet flavors, from crowd-pleasing standbys to more sophisticated fare. I got the sea salt dark chocolate and the goat cheese and pecan and was satisfied with both my choices. Everybody else in my group really enjoyed their gelato as well. read more

The gelato was great! With a small you can choose up to 2 flavors. They have little bars as well and Affogato. We sampled a little from the straticelli, salted caramel, the pistachio was my favorite. The service was good and the place looked great. We'll be back! read more

I went to two different Dolce Neve's and I did not like this one as much. Restaurant was stuffy. No open tables despite it not being that crowded. It was nice they had Kiwi sorbet which was interesting. The organic hazelnut also tasted good. Prices are high and flavor selection was weak, surprised they only had 8 flavors. I had a better experience at the East Austin location and they had better and more flavors available. This location is nice that there is a parking lot but I drove past it the first time. I tried calling the next day to see what flavors they had but they didn't answer. Overall, I probably wouldn't go here unless I was nearby and it was convenient, because the gelato was just alright and too limited flavors, and pricing a little high, especially for the selection. read more

It might be because I'm not an ice cream person, so my standards for "good ice cream" is really high. I would not consider Dolce as "good", but I would say they are average. For small cup, you can choose two flavors. I sampled at least 5 different flavors, but I hardly find any one taste particularly special or outstanding, even with my "all time favorite" matcha or dark chocolate. Honestly I didn't want to make a purchase but I feel bad not doing such after sampling 5 or 6 flavors. I ended up getting one chocolate and cream and one mascarpone and fig. I'd say 3.5 stars. Pros: Almond vegan, whiskey pecan were amazing. Is you like sweeter fruity flavors, peach is great. Bonus points for having vegan flavors that aren't just sugar or fillers! Cons: Gelato could be creamier and less icy. Wait is unnecessarily long. Let's be real, any ice cream place with 4+ stars on Yelp is going to have lines put the door in Austin. Okay, then you should always know that I loved their earl grey flavor. This time, they had both out at once and I was absolutely SHIOK. The blending of these two flavor was perfectly balanced and brought out such flavor that played in my mind. Okay, haha. Very cute trendy small gelato shop located in Austin's East End. The service was excellent and include tons of samples to ensure we ordered exactly what our palates desired. The gelato was very creamy, flavorful, and fresh. There's seating inside and outside but it's quite limited. We had a party of 10 and almost occupied all of the seating. This place was such an awesome find. My mom is addicted to gelato so naturally when we walked by she had to have some! This place has the coolest flavors! I kept it lo-mein and just ordered Madagascar Vanilla and 70% chocolate. I knew I couldn't go wrong and I didn't! We were all happy campers! The place is so cute and quaint! There's beautiful artwork on the side of the building to take awesome pictures and there's also a front porch with seating. We had a pretty good experience here! We were just looking for ice cream in the area and found this little spot. The parking is a little tight and is in the back of the shop. The overall vibes of the shop is so cute however although a little small. There is seating available outside which is perfect for a warm day. My friend got the Crema Dolce Neve which she loved. It definitely had the lemon taste when you ate it and I got the Stracciatella which tasted like chocolate chip ice cream. Both were delicious though and our service was great! read more

I love Dolce Neve! This would be one of my top 3 favorite dessert places in Austin. The service is always really amazing whether it be giving you samples or their recommendations. My favorite flavors from here are their Stracciatella, Crema Dolce Neve, and Whiskey and Pecan. If you're looking for something tangier I also like their Pineapple sorbet! A tip for parking is that the lot is behind the store and could be easy to miss. So if you are routing here I would slow down to enter the lot so you don't miss it. There is also street parking a couple of steps away. read more

Honestly, I'm not really a fan of gelato so I will already have a strict opinion. However, I will say that Dolce Neve has pretty solid gelato flavors. A lot of my friends that come here like Dolce, but my review is simply for their customer service and employee training. I came here when they only allowed six customers in the store at once, and my friends and I came about 40 minutes before closing. We all waited patiently outside (we were a party of five people and there were two people inside), and the employee inside spent 20 minutes with the people inside. He had no consideration for the people that gradually came to line up behind us in the heat and took his time with the two customers inside. I've been to Dolce Neve once before, and I also remember feeling like their employees were not the most efficient or welcoming. read more

It's probably THE best espresso shot I had in austin, and I'm very picky with espresso. Gelato here is as good as in Italy. I recommend the vanilla, hazelnut and pistachio. And yes, I said vanilla, try it and you will know why i said it. Even better, throw it in a double shot espresso (affogato) and thank me later. read more

Hands down, without a doubt, nothing else even comes close, this is the BEST gelato I've had in Austin. And I've tried a LOT of gelato shops here. What I love about Dolce Neve is that their gelato is so light & fluffy (as gelato is meant to be), not heavy like ice cream. Their flavors are absolutely divine, subtle & bright. My favorite is the Crema Dolce Neve, a cloud-like custard gelato with lemon zest that's a beautiful burst of sunshine in my mouth. But like the good kind of sunshine, on a crisp, cool 55 degree autumn day. Not the oppressive, humid, disgusting Texas summer kind of sunshine. Last but certainly not least, Dolce Neve makes a damn fine affogato, 3 scoops of gelato (I get mine with Madagascar Vanilla) with hot coffee poured over the top. The gelato slowly melts into the coffee, resulting in the fluffiest, yummiest cream topping you can imagine. read more

My Tinder date (years ago) took me here for the first time, and although we were not a match, I did find a new love connection that day with Dolce Neve. I am a gelato and frozen custard lover; ice cream just doesn't make the cut for me, so I was enamored with this gelato shop when I first laid eyes on her. The flavors are very unique with some classics, which is very much down my alley. They have a rotating menu and also sell pints to take home. Maybe don't go here on a first date with someone from a dating app, because you'll put them onto one of the best gelato spots in Austin and possibly run into them after ghosting them post-terrible-date. This spot is a corner location with stairs leading up to the door right on a corner of South Congress. Most of the drinks I believe could come iced or hot. My mocha was good. The Cosmic Saltillo location is our go-to because it's walking distance from our home. This original location is amazing. Love the both so much. Keep your eyes peeled if you're coming here because it's easy to drive past it without realizing. The shop is actually pretty cute from the inside and outside with plenty of parking in the back. The workers are friendly and make sure you sample as many flavors as you need before making that crucial decision. In my opinion, the gelato was very tasty. Some of the flavors I've tried include: chocolate with candied orange peels, almond custard, marscarpone and lemon, organic hazelnut and crema dolce neve. I have to say, my favorite was the chocolate with candied orange peels because the flavor combination of chocolate and orange is fail proof. What's awesome about this place is that they not only serve gelato, they also offer other frozen desserts such as Italian shaved ice, affogatos and gelato sandwiches. When you're ever craving a cup of non-dairy creamer mixed with just a bit of tea, this place is where you should go. After the first few time of getting their cream teas and going home with gut wrenching stomach aches I started ordering their drinks half sweet, and half creamer. With it that way, the drinks are decent. But the recent times I've been here and been served by the current/newer staff have left me less satisfied. Either it's a wrong order, they miss me saying half sweet/creamer, or even neglecting to mention they are out of tapioca til my drink comes out(even though I ordered it with tapioca). Y'all, I'm at a loss for words to describe just how amazing is the gelato at Dolce Neve! It instantly jumped to one of my favorite places in Austin. I love, love, love that they let you sample to your heart's content until settling on one of their delicious flavors. It was only by sampling that I ended up with the amazing marscapone and lemon flavor and an equally amazing ricotta flavor. Not only is the gelato amazing, this place is adorable! This little ice cream shop belongs in candy land. It is absolutely adorable and just walking in made me so happy! However the ice cream was nothing amazing...the flavors were okay, but nothing that I would come back for. If it wasn't for the perfect decor, I probably would not have enjoyed the ice cream much. It was "gelato" but it didn't really taste like gelato, more like average ice cream. And honestly, the kind you get in a tub in a store is probably better.
