Wow wow wow! What can I say! Dolce Amore has just become one of my favourite gelato places without a doubt! I've been following their Instagram handle for quite some time now and have been meaning to go there in person. However due to the quarantine these past couple of months, it wouldn't have been possible. Luckily they're available on UberEats! I ordered the Cherry Mania and my fiancé got the Nutella Oreo Cheesecake which is their May feature. The Cherry Mania has just the right amount of sweetness and a tartness to it that wasn't overwhelming. I tried a bit of the Nutella Oreo Cheesecake as well which was very light but still lacked flavour. The gelato was super creamy and delightfully rich! They offer a pretty wide variety of gelato so I'm definitely ordering from here again. read more

Dolce Amore is a great find on the drive. I was planning to go to Rain or Shine, but felt too lazy heading down to Cambie and Dolce Amore is located on a closer distance to skytrain. Selections were okay. If you like sorbetto (or sherbet) then Dolce Amore is a perfect place. You can ask for samples, but staff looked busy handling 4-5 people and I didn't want to bother asking. I'd ask for samples when there are lesser customers waiting. I got Caramel and White Chocolate Raspberry together as a single scoop ($5) and that was an excellent deal in my opinion. I liked both flavours and couldn't pick which one I liked more. Smooth, delicious and it had nice elastic texture of gelato. Price wise Rain or Shine charges $5 as well, double scoop price is 43 cents more at Dolce Amore. However, you get 10th free after 9 gelato purchases using loyalty card. You MUST get their loyalty card! Service was fast. Ask staff for a key if you need to use bathroom. I'm hoping to see more flavours on the next visit so 4 stars for now. read more

Sweet Love is exactly what this place serves your taste buds. Dolce Amor's gelato is to die for. They have a huge selection of gourmet flavours to choose from. My personal favourites are the coconut and mango basil. I also really enjoyed the chocolate toffee cookie. Delicioso!! Next dessert I'm going try is either the strawberry or blueberry cheesecake. Nothing will stop us even though we know the consequences after. When we get ice cream we're good after 3 bites then we throw it away (i know, what a waste right) or give it to our friends. I ordered the kitkat flavor and the Rocher flavor at the bottom. I loved it. It was not too sweet or not too bland either. So just perfect. I had it with the cone because of environmental reasons, I don't want to deal with the plastic cup. Well the cone was ok. Just an ordinary waffle cone. Not too special. The ice cream didn't melt extremely fast. So that's a plus too. In the ice cream place there are a few seating. But I have noticed most people just buy and go. There are not a lot of flavor but they do also sell ice cream sandwiches and ice cream on a stick. So you do have some good options. Staffs are very friendly. I have to say I really enjoy coming here. Definitely will be back when I am in the hood. As a plus you could split a one scope ice cream. * They are really giving you two scope with two flavor and charging you for one scope price. I loved this. So less than $5 for two flavor is not bad. Gianduia always hits the spot and is my favourite flavour here. A mix of chocolate/hazelnut with bits that remind you of ferrero rocher.

Second timer at this Gelateria and it did not disappoint! First time around, I got the Whiskey Cream which was to die! Super creamy and the flavour was bang on. Yes, it's only 9 degrees outside but that doesn't mean you have to stop eating ice cream! Tonight I tried the Limoncello and oooooeeee it was tasty and tart! The only downside, was it wasn't as creamy, quite a few chunks of more frozen bits than soft but nevertheless the flavour was there. Also, I opted for the chocolate cone which was nothing special, would I get the choco come again? Probs not! Regular cone for the win. Also, would love to see home made waffle cones here! Definitely one of THE BEST places to get gelato and sorbetto in Vancouver. You can taste the quality here, the flavors are strong and vibrant, and the texture is velvety smooth. The Blood Orange sorbetto is my favorite for sure. The location is great too, really close to 1st and Commercial. As for the customer service, the staff are always nice. Returning to Vancouver, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Dolce Amore is as good, if not better than it's Italian cousins. Dolce Amore serves traditional Italian style gelato and sorbets. Thus, it's a bit dresser and richer that ice cream and doesn't have the same mouthfeel as the creamier ice cream. It is also served at a warmer temperature, making it better suited to a cup than a cone. Their selection is impeccably handcrafted by the Grippo family in small batched their impeccable gelato in small batches. By doing so, their selection remains limited to the classics and fresh, in season ingredients. While they have fun flavors like cookie dough and bubble gum, their classics, such as pistachio, tiramisu, nocciola and dolce amore and where they really shine I'm reserving a star, as I have yet to try Bella Gelateria, which I've heard may be even better! read more

A 6 inch cake serves about 4-5 people and they had 3 options available at $26 for a cake. The Oreo ice cream was delicious and true to the cookie flavour. The cherry ice cream (forgot the full technical name) flavour was decent and had bits of cherry in it. My only thing I wasn't too keen on was the bits of cherry on it and my wife thought it could have been less sweet. However I thought it was just right...anyways...still a great cake. For a mid sized ice cream cake that won't break the bank, consider this place. The selection is optimal for people who like having options and the ice cream looks relatively fresh since lots of people come through the store on a regular basis. Discovered this ice cream shop because of Italian Day! We first tried their gelato popsicle and that was delicious! Dipped in chocolate and covered in nuts. After Italian day we came here again and this time we tried their waffle cone with a scoop of pistachio and Black Forest. Oh my, it was so creamy and the flavours were quite balanced. Since it's been summer, I've been loving ice creams and gelato recently. I had ice cream at Amato Gelato a week before I tried Dolce Amore and I have heard really good things about this place. The outside of this store looks really hip and the logo looks very modern. When you first step inside, there is a line and it says "Enter Here, Pay first" which was really confusing. But anyways, you pay first and then you line up to give the person your receipt and they will scoop it for you. There is no extra charge for a waffle cone - 2 scoops is 6.75. I feel like they didnt have that much selection to flavours but they did have ice cream sandwiches which consisted of ice cream in between two cookies. They also had bars that had toppings on it. They had about 1.5 sections of flavours. To my friends dismay, they did not have any Mango flavour or even a matcha or green tea flavour. For a friday night, you would think they would have more selection but unfortunately they didn't. I found they had a lot of chocolate-y flavours but when you have a whole scoop full, it can become too sweet. I didn't really see any flavours that I loved so I stuck with Strawberry and KitKat. If I had to be honest, I didn't LOVE the Gelato.. as much as I really wanted to. I felt like it was too hard and not smooth enough - I cant really describe it but I'm not sure if I would be back. My fiance's sister really loves this gelato place, so when we were walking along Commercial Drive we decided to try it out. Dolce Amore is a small gelato place on the corner of Commercial Drive and Graveley Street. They have over 40 flavors of gelato in rotation, with a great selection of fruit and dessert style flavors. Be warned though, Dolce Amore only accepts cash. Dolce Amore was quite busy when we were there (probably due to the festival along Commercial Drive), but the line moved pretty fast. Just like other gelato places in Vancouver, you pay first, then pick your flavors. One scoop with either a cup or waffle cone comes to $4.50, which is reasonable. I just appreciated that the waffle cone didn't cost extra. I decided to try the limoncello gelato, which was fantastic. It was creamy, smooth, and had a fantastic lemon flavor. My fiance had the Oh Henry gelato, which was also delicious. I wouldn't recommend getting more than one scoop per person, our scoops were quite large. Dolce Amore lacks the 200 flavors of La Casa Gelato, but the gelato quality is fantastic. If you're on Commercial Drive, check it out! read more

The first time I went here I had a lovely cherry gelato that I described as "being punched in the face by a cherry". I meant that in the best way possible. The flavour was so fresh and rich, and I'm glad to say that is generally the standard for all of their flavours. Every time I go in there is a new selection of tasty flavours to to choose from and I have not once been disappointed! I like to get one scoop of a fruity flavour and one of a nut or something like that, and they always have several of both to choose from. Reminder: this place is CASH ONLY. I've had my heart broken too many times by forgetting this little fact, if there's any reason to always carry cash it's so you are ready to get gelato at a moment's notice!
