Wow wow wow! What can I say! Dolce Amore has just become one of my favourite gelato places without a doubt! I've been following their Instagram handle for quite some time now and have been meaning to go there in person. However due to the quarantine these past couple of months, it wouldn't have been possible. Luckily they're available on UberEats! I ordered the Cherry Mania and my fiancé got the Nutella Oreo Cheesecake which is their May feature. The Cherry Mania has just the right amount of sweetness and a tartness to it that wasn't overwhelming. I tried a bit of the Nutella Oreo Cheesecake as well which was very light but still lacked flavour. The gelato was super creamy and delightfully rich! They offer a pretty wide variety of gelato so I'm definitely ordering from here again. read more

Found this place by sheer luck and it turned out to be amazing. I'm a sucker for tiramisu so picking that flavor was a no-brainer, the cone was delicious too. Will definitely be back upon my next sweet tooth in Vancouver! read more

Sweet Love is exactly what this place serves your taste buds. Dolce Amor's gelato is to die for. They have a huge selection of gourmet flavours to choose from. My personal favourites are the coconut and mango basil. I also really enjoyed the chocolate toffee cookie. Delicioso!! Next dessert I'm going try is either the strawberry or blueberry cheesecake. If you are ever down on the Drive, please check them out. You won't regret it. read more

Yummy gelato. Friendly staff. Lots of flavours. Came during Xmas and the candy can was our fav

Cute little place with seriously the BEST ice cream I have ever had!! This beats every ice cream place in Vancouver. Let me just say, my friend and I are lactose intolerant and we LOVE dairy. Nothing will stop us even though we know the consequences after. When we get ice cream we're good after 3 bites then we throw it away (i know, what a waste right) or give it to our friends. But this place was a game changer. I could not just throw it out to waste. It was that good I had to finish the whole thing!!! I ordered the Tiramisu and my friend got the Rocher. We tried a couple before choosing. And every single one was incredibly delicious! It was so silky and smooth. I loved it so much. We ordered the kids size scoop but it still looked like a regular size scoop. 11/10 recommend!! I cannot stop thinking about how good it was. read more

So good. Great little place and delicious gelato. Smaller but good selection compared to Marios. But what they do have is delish.

Second timer at this Gelateria and it did not disappoint! First time around, I got the Whiskey Cream which was to die! Super creamy and the flavour was bang on. Yes, it's only 9 degrees outside but that doesn't mean you have to stop eating ice cream! Tonight I tried the Limoncello and oooooeeee it was tasty and tart! The only downside, was it wasn't as creamy, quite a few chunks of more frozen bits than soft but nevertheless the flavour was there. Also, I opted for the chocolate cone which was nothing special, would I get the choco come again? Probs not! Regular cone for the win. Also, would love to see home made waffle cones here! The staff is so happy and very accommodating to customers who want to try flavours. I'll be back to try more flavours! read more

Mainly leaving this review to say the sweet corn flavor was a 10/10, A+ amazing, so delicious, the flavor was on point, and loved the small corn chunks. We tried a few other flavors and they were good but not anything super special, I did really like the roasted hazelnut but it was a little too sweet. Service was fine, employees seemed a little annoyed we were asking for samples/didn't know what flavors we wanted immediately, there was no line behind us. read more

Gelato was pretty good, and the waffle cones were crispy. There are quite a few flavours to choose from including vegan flavours. They also have freshly made cheesecakes. The only thing is that some of the gelato was melted. read more

Definitely one of THE BEST places to get gelato and sorbetto in Vancouver. You can taste the quality here, the flavors are strong and vibrant, and the texture is velvety smooth. The Blood Orange sorbetto is my favorite for sure. The location is great too, really close to 1st and Commercial. As for the customer service, the staff are always nice. Can't wait to go back! read more

Great gelato but the amenities are lacking. No seating outside, no heaters, hard to get to washrooms. Not well thought out considering the volume they get. The businesses next to them get swamped with trash and their spillover patrons trying to take patio seats and use washrooms. Get your shit together Dolce. read more

My friends and I went to this place when it was almost closing time, so we were only able to order 3 cups of Americano and their last dessert. It was the best recommendation from the server to order this DIVINE dessert. It was some kind of chocolate cake with toffee, gelato & caramel sauce. OMGosh, I nearly died when I took a bite because it was sooooooooo gooey, moist & delicious!!!!!!!!! We would've ordered 2 more because it was that decadent!!! Definitely need to return to try their dinner and order more of that dessert. Americano & that dessert COMPLETES each other :) read more

Best Gelato in Vancouver hands down. Great service and culture in the store. They just opened a new shop on 2nd in Lonsdale....10/10 must try. read more

Gianduia always hits the spot and is my favourite flavour here. A mix of chocolate/hazelnut with bits that remind you of ferrero rocher.

Likely the best gelato in town. There are others, but this one is the best IMHO. I usually get mango and vanilla. They use actual vanilla bean in the gelato. Very busy during the summer months, and parking can be a bit of a pain. read more

The pistachio cookie sandwich. A great bang for your buck. Well any ice cream sandwich. Great customer service. First thing that greeted me was the employee's friendly smile. Keep it up. A simple smile goes a long way. Will for sure come back again when I craving cheat sweets. Aloha. read more

Dolce Amore is my new sweet love. A few years ago, I spent a few weeks quite literally eating my way through some of Italy's best gelato. Returning to Vancouver, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Dolce Amore is as good, if not better than it's Italian cousins. Dolce Amore serves traditional Italian style gelato and sorbets. Thus, it's a bit dresser and richer that ice cream and doesn't have the same mouthfeel as the creamier ice cream. It is also served at a warmer temperature, making it better suited to a cup than a cone. Their selection is impeccably handcrafted by the Grippo family in small batched their impeccable gelato in small batches. By doing so, their selection remains limited to the classics and fresh, in season ingredients. While they have fun flavors like cookie dough and bubble gum, their classics, such as pistachio, tiramisu, nocciola and dolce amore and where they really shine I'm reserving a star, as I have yet to try Bella Gelateria, which I've heard may be even better! read more

Quality over quantity seekers of the lower mainland are going to agree that if you are looking for the best gelato, you need to come here . Presentation is wonderful . No crowds even on the Friday night we were in. We got to try about 3 flavours each (no rush ). You pay first and scoop later..it's the rules. I opted for the dark chocolate gelato for one scoop and the organic raspberry for the second . Perfect match . Both tart and tasted smooth and homemade . My partner opted for peanut butter and milk chocolate (2 scoops ). Beyond decandant . I generally never finish ice cream but it would have been a crime if I didn't . Price was fair for the value ($14 for 4 scoops). Atmosphere was casual and sort of busy but nothing like the feel of casa gelato where you are lost in a touristy crowd. The workers were sociable and had solid suggestions but very "commercial drive "...as soon as Justin bieber came on they changed the Channel lol . Best gelato in Vancouver . Change my mind! read more

Not the best gelato I've had, but its really really really good. Flavors are strong, and creaminess was perfect. All the flavors I've tried were top notch: Oreo, Birthday Cake, Berries. mmmm. Service was friendly, and they have a loyalty stamp card. Woot woot. Definitely a nice place to go to on commercial after lunch or dinner :) read more

One of the best gelato I ever had. Love extra dark chocolate, pistachio, lavender and mango.

This place is great of gelato on a hot summer day. It can be enjoyed on its own, or even as a dessert (or appetizer ;) ). The selection is optimal for people who like having options and the ice cream looks relatively fresh since lots of people come through the store on a regular basis. It is a cute casual place to take a date or even go with a group of friends. Families would also enjoy this place as would kids of all ages. Aside from the slight wait to get my two scoops, I would definitely come back again for a great reliable gelato fix. They have my favorites (such as vanilla, strawberry and mango) but they also have a great selection of gelatos for the individuals with a sweet tooth (for ex: Kinder surprise and Ferrero Rocher flavors!)! Piece of advice is that they may run out, when I went this past Monday they ran out of Mango! But everything else was in stock. I was almost going neck and neck for another customer for the last bit of blood orange, but I settled for cherry and strawberry :) read more

Food 4/5, service 4/5, ambience 4/5 It's a very nice gelato place with some good flavour selections. I tried pumpkin pie and pecan mud slide - both very nice. My friend tried pistachio and she loved it. The lady at the counter was really friendly. She was in the process of wrapping up the day - and felt bad for asking some to gos before I left but she gladly packed one for me! read more

-great ice cream cakes- The gelato ice cream cake I bought was available without having to pre-order it which I really appreciate. A 6 inch cake serves about 4-5 people and they had 3 options available at $26 for a cake. The Oreo ice cream was delicious and true to the cookie flavour. The cherry ice cream (forgot the full technical name) flavour was decent and had bits of cherry in it. My only thing I wasn't too keen on was the bits of cherry on it and my wife thought it could have been less sweet. However I thought it was just right...anyways...still a great cake. For a mid sized ice cream cake that won't break the bank, consider this place. They also serve ice cream, cakes and cookies (and ice cream cookie sandwiches) which I will need to try some time. read more

Before COVID-19, the service was amazing! The only thing I would change is allergy safety. My brother is allergic to peanuts so we don't go very often anymore. Otherwise, 100%, would recommend! read more

Decent selection of gelato and open late (11pm) but be aware that it is Cash Only. Pink grapefruit was refreshing without being too sour, usually my go to flavour if it's available and this was comparable to ones I've tried at at other shops. Good contrast to the sweeter creamier flavours like blueberry cheesecake and smores. Cone is free and you can try multiple flavours before ordering. Also sells gelato bars and gelato sandwiches along with pies and a few small desserts. Will have to try next time. read more

Discovered this ice cream shop because of Italian Day! We first tried their gelato popsicle and that was delicious! Dipped in chocolate and covered in nuts. After Italian day we came here again and this time we tried their waffle cone with a scoop of pistachio and Black Forest. Oh my, it was so creamy and the flavours were quite balanced. I've always tried to find pistachio gelato ever since I tried it in Italy and this place makes it right! You can taste the pistachio and every bit of its flavour. We ended up buying a pint as well. Bonus - you can have 2 flavours! We got the Nutella and also the almond cream. Needless to say we will be back again! In love with dolce amore! read more

Not very often do I crave icecream, but today I did, so my husband and I decided to try this place. He had cherry mania and I had gangster toffee. Wow! Both were so delicious. I'd definitely come back again. It was a decent sized scoop for the price compared to some other Vancouver establishments. read more

Artisan gelato in the Little Italy section of West Vancouver BC, Canada. I had pink grapefruit & vanilla ginger. The combination of tart & sweet was quite refreshing & delightful. This place has some of the best gelato in Vancouver, and I'm writing this as a gal who has visited her fair share of gelaterias. Sure, they may only have a fraction of the flavours that La Casa Gelato has a few blocks away, but their gelato tastes richer and smoother, and their flavours far more nuanced. But surprisingly, I'm not writing this review just to praise their over-the-counter gelato. The real deal? Their gelato sandwiches. I won't lie to you -they're money, baby. Picture delectable hazelnut gelato sandwiched between two homemade, chewy chocolate-chip cookies, and you'll get the idea. They're definitely a once-in-a-blue-moon decadent treat, but when you're going to indulge, you might as well do it right. It might just be the most delicious handheld dessert treat ever. Vancouver, you're welcome. read more

GDA got the best seasonal flavones, price is affordable and the waffle cones and GST is included, no extra fee for the waffle cone (unlike other ice cream shops in the city, they gauge you). They have hefty servings and they only make one batch per flavor, so come early. We definitely love GDA. read more

My fiance's sister really loves this gelato place, so when we were walking along Commercial Drive we decided to try it out. Dolce Amore is a small gelato place on the corner of Commercial Drive and Graveley Street. They have over 40 flavors of gelato in rotation, with a great selection of fruit and dessert style flavors. Be warned though, Dolce Amore only accepts cash. Dolce Amore was quite busy when we were there (probably due to the festival along Commercial Drive), but the line moved pretty fast. Just like other gelato places in Vancouver, you pay first, then pick your flavors. One scoop with either a cup or waffle cone comes to $4.50, which is reasonable. I just appreciated that the waffle cone didn't cost extra. I decided to try the limoncello gelato, which was fantastic. It was creamy, smooth, and had a fantastic lemon flavor. My fiance had the Oh Henry gelato, which was also delicious. I wouldn't recommend getting more than one scoop per person, our scoops were quite large. Dolce Amore lacks the 200 flavors of La Casa Gelato, but the gelato quality is fantastic. If you're on Commercial Drive, check it out! read more

The first time I went here I had a lovely cherry gelato that I described as "being punched in the face by a cherry". I meant that in the best way possible. The flavour was so fresh and rich, and I'm glad to say that is generally the standard for all of their flavours. Every time I go in there is a new selection of tasty flavours to to choose from and I have not once been disappointed! I like to get one scoop of a fruity flavour and one of a nut or something like that, and they always have several of both to choose from. Reminder: this place is CASH ONLY. I've had my heart broken too many times by forgetting this little fact, if there's any reason to always carry cash it's so you are ready to get gelato at a moment's notice! Oh and it's right next to the government liquor store, so, that's convenient. read more

Great gelato, but the employees here sure hate their jobs... I work in customer service too, so I understand how ridiculous some people can be. I get it. But please treat each customer with a fresh new start. I think that's enough on that topic... They have a wide variety of flavors, and they're generous with their scoops. Unfortunately my phone died the day I went in so I don't remember the flavor I tried, but both my friend and I greatly enjoyed our choices. FYI-- you pay first, and then you can taste the different flavors. There's limited seating, like most gelato places, so don't expect to find a place to sit unless it's a slow day. read more

Best value in Vancouver for gelatos! Decidedly better taste than La Casa Gelato, and larger than the mini scoops at Bella Gelateria. This place has some of the best gelato in all of Vancouver! It tastes like the fruit that it's supposed to be AND it's soooo smooth and creamy. It almost puts Mondo Gelato http://www.yelp.ca/biz/mondo-gelato-vancouver to shame, even though that's pretty good too! Stop here! They may not have as many flavours as La Casa Gelato (somewhat down the road--200 flavours), but they are definitely doing it the right way. The quality is amazing! You cannot go wrong! read more

A date with my man lead to dessert here, which we took to go as we strolled around Trout Lake. The place was busy but the line went quickly. They let us sample a couple different flavours and then I picked my usual, the pistachio, and the cheesecake. But were stupendous. Though due to the summer temperatures outside, they were melting quickly. It was a wonderful end to a nice evening out. After my first excellent experience with Dolce Amore, I suggested it as a place to pick up a container to go while a friend was in town for the night from overseas. My guy joined us later as we ate our treat at my home. My friend and I clearly overestimated how much gelato we would need and I ended up with lots left in the freezer at the end of the night. It got polished off a couple weeks later, and was still very good. I was impressed at how well it lasted. I thought it might not do so well in a home freezer. The quality of the gelato is top notch. Really creamy textures, and flavours that are spot on. The staff are nice and helpful, even though they are super busy and probably stressed during the summer months. Gelato isn't cheap, which is probably a good thing, or I would indulge a lot more often. There's a hazelnut one, which has a name that I cannot remember, but ask the staff... you need to try it. Nocciola might be it. read more
